Electromagnetic studies have established that the 32?, 12? ground state doublet in 7Li is well described by the LS coupling shell model, provided quadrupole effective charge is introduced. The results of microscopic calculations for the excitation of the 12? level in inelastic proton scattering shown within indicate that an equivalent renormalization of the 7Li quadrupole neutron transition densities is also necessary. This verifies the assumption which was made in a previous calculation of the cross section for the excitation of the 32? level in the 7Li+24Mg reaction.  相似文献

The dependence of the threshold for pion condensation in symmetric nuclear matter on the effective nucleon mass M1 is investigated, using extrapolations of M1(?) to high densities ?, based on boson exchange mechanisms. It is found that if M1(?) decreases below the standard value M1=0.8M as the density increases beyond the nuclear matter density ?0, the critical density is raised considerably beyond ?0 once short-range repulsive correlations are included.  相似文献

The g-factors of the 10+ isomeric states in 194Hg and 196Hg have been measured using the in beam IPAD method. The results g(194Hg) = ?0.24(4) and g(196Hg) = ?0.18(9) are in agreement with the value expected for an (i132?2) neutron satructure and clearly contradict the previous assignment as (h112?2) proton configurations. Cranking model calculations show that the neutron excitation energies in the rotating frame agree satisfactorily with the experimental energies and that the proton excitations are expected ≈2 MeV above the experimental yrast line  相似文献

Vacuum fluctuation effects in QCD due to instantons are considered in dense neutron star matter. In the density region of interest to neutron star cores we find a density dependence ~n?13B, in contrast to a result by Shuryak, ~ n?53B.  相似文献

The Lyman-α and adjacent dielectronic satellite lines have been observed in the spectra from laser-irradiated solid targets. In a carbon plasma from a planar target, the relative intensity of the 2p23P?1s2p 3P satellite line of C(V) increases as a function of electron density in the range 8 × 1019 to 2 × 1020 cm?3. As analysis of a series of imploded microballoon experiments indicates that the 2p23P?1s2p 3P and 2s2p 3P?1s2s 3S satellite radiation of Si(XIII) increases for electron densities 1 × 1022?2 × 1023 cm?3. The satellite intensity distributions have been numerically simulated using a rate equation model. It is shown that the carbon and silicon satellite data may be interpreted in a consistent manner, and the extension to higher atomic numbers Z and higher electron densities is considered.  相似文献

The 190Os(n, γ)191Os reaction was studied with the average resonance neutron capture technique at a neutron energy centered on 2 keV. Thermal capture data were also recorded. Primary transitions to states up to an excitation energy of ≈ 1700 keV were detected. From the average capture data it appears possible to distinguish E1 from M1 multipolarities and thereby to map out the 12?, 32? states in 191Os. By elimination, it is possible to treat the Jπ12?32? states as well, albeit with greater uncertainty. Combination of these results with existing data from the (d, p) reaction allows an extension of earlier treatments of the fragmentation of Nilsson strength in this mass region. Although other mechanisms may also suffice it is possible to qualitatively interpret the complex fragmentation systematics in terms of a simple model of large hexadecapole deformations varying in a reasonable manner.  相似文献

High-spin states in 195, 197Tl have been populated with (α, xn) reactions and studied by means of in-beam γ-ray and e? spectroscopic methods. Complementary studies of the decay of 195, 197Pb to 195, 197Tl have been carried out. Several new features have been observed in these nuclei. The 92? bands of 195, 197T1. extended to 272(?) and 292(?), respectively, show a quenching of energy spacings between the 232?, 252?, 272(? and 292(? states. This has been interpreted as resulting from the coupling of a h92 proton to the (πh?2112)8+, 10+ configurations in the core nuclei 194, 196Hg. Furthermore, positive-parity bands based on 152+ states were established up to the 352(+) and 292(+) states in 195, 197Tl respectively. Probably these bands originate from the coupling of a h92 proton to a broken neutron pair. This pair consists of a rotation-aligned i132 neutron and a low-j neutron in the P12, P32 or f52 shell. It is known to constitute the 5? bands in 194, 196Hg.  相似文献

π+ and π? elastic and inelastic scattering from 18O have been measured at T(π)=164 MeV. Consistent with the results at 230 MeV, it is found that the ratio σ(π?)σ(π+) for the 21+ state is 1.86(16), while for the 31? state it is 0.89(6). These results are interpreted as indicating differences in neutron and proton deformations characterizing the 21+ transition and partial neutron blocking for the 31? transition. Optical model analysis of elastic scattering leads to the conclusion that 〈rn212?〈rp212=0.03(3) fm.  相似文献

The 12?[521] and72+[633] one-quasiparticle bands in the N = 99 nucleus 171Hf have been identified to spins of about 452 using (heavy ion, xn) reactions. The moments of inertia of these bands are consistent with the absence of backbending in the N = 98 core nucleus. The half-life of the 52?[512] intrinsic state was measured as 63.6 ns. The strength of the 52?[512] → 72+[633] E1 transition is discussed. Two three-quasiparticle isomers with spins and parities 192+and232? have been identified and their suggested configurations are a 72+[633] neutron added to the 6+ and 8? two-quasiproton states of the core. The moment of inertia of a rotational band based on the 232? isomer supports this suggestion, and shows the effect of partial rotation alignment of the i132 neutron.  相似文献

The 48K, 49K and 50K nuclides have been produced in high energy fragmentation and analyzed by mass spectroscopy techniques. Their half-lives have been measured as 6 ± 1 s, 1.1 ± 0.3 s and and 0.7 ± 0.3 s, respectively. The γ-rays from their radioactive decay have been observed and the corresponding γ-intensities measured. The nuclide 50K is shown to be a delayed neutron emitter. The antianalog states in the daughter Ca nuclei with a (1d32)? neutron configuration, preferentially populated in the β-decay, have been located. The corresponding 1d32 neutron single-particle energy is found to remain approximately constant for these neutron-rich Ca isotopes.  相似文献

The possibility of neutron triplet pairing and superfluidity in neutron star matter is investigated, and the energy gap and corresponding critical temperature is calculated or estimated as a function of Fermi momentum or density. The calculations are performed for a “one-pion-exchange gaussian” potential, and compared with the results for neutron and proton singlet pairing and superfluidity calculated earlier.The results indicate that neutron superfluidity, corresponding specifically to 3P2 state pairing, may exist in a high-density shell in the nuclear-matter region of a neutron star, i.e. for 1.6 × 1014g/cm3 < ρ < 1.4 × 1015g/cm3, and the maximum self-consistent energy gap is Δ01kF ≈ 0.6 MeV and Δ03(kF) ≈ 0.1 MeV for an effective mass m1 ≈ 0.75 and kF ≈ 2.1 fm?1, i.e. for a mas ? ≈ 5.2 × 1014g/cm3. For m1 = 1.0 we get correspondingly Δ01(kF) ≈ 3.3 MeV and Δ03(kF) ≈ 0.6 MeV for kF ≈ 2.2 fm?1.  相似文献

Fluorine and carbon induced fusion-evaporation reactions were used to excite high-spin states in 79Rb and 79Kr. The level scheme of 79Rb was established on the basis of neutron multiplicity measurements, γγ coincidence data and excitation functions. From recoil distance and Doppler shift attenuation lifetime measurements, E2 strengths of the positive-parity yrast states in 79Kr (up to Iπ = 212+) and the favored and unfavored states in 79Rb (up to Iπ = 252+) were derived. An interpretation of these data in terms of the asymmetric rotor-plus-particle model and the interacting boson fermion model (with or without separate proton and neutron bosons) is proposed. Energies and lifetimes of a second stretched band in 79Rb (probably with negative parity) were also measured.  相似文献

The values of dF1(q2)dq2 at q2=0 for the neutron and the proton provide a measure of the average transverse separations squared, 〈y2〉, between a u or d quark and the rest of the partons in a nucleon. Using the measured values of the form factors (together with parton x-distributions), we find that 〈y2 = 17.4 GeV?2 for u quarks and 16.4 GeV?2 for d quarks in a proton. We speculate that the small difference between u and d quarks is caused by “quark pairing” and discuss other possible experimental signatures of quark pairing.  相似文献

A core-particle calculation developed to describe the low-lying structure of 29Si is extended above neutron threshold energy to yield information on the structure of doorway states indicated by the 29Si + n reaction. The recent experimental evidence for a J = 32? doorway state common to the 28Si + n and the 29Si + γ channels is supported by the calculation which also reproduces correctly the magnitudes of the neutron escape widths and the E1 radiative strengths of the 32? doorway states.  相似文献

Neutron-gamma coincidence spectra have been measured for muon capture in 16O. The γ-spectrum is dominated by the ground state transitions from the 32? (6.32 MeV) and12+ + 52+ (5.3 MeV) states of 15N that are populated after the emission of one neutron. The neutron energy spectra and the neutron energy dependence of the ny angular correlation coefficient A2 for these final states are presented. The observed transitions in 14N and the associated neutron spectra give direct evidence for the emission of two correlated neutrons. The data are discussed in terms of direct neutron emission plus emission via giant resonance intermediate states of 16N. The large yield for the emission of one and two fast neutrons is explained by a capture mechanism involving short-range nucleon-nucleon correlations.  相似文献

The intrinsic structure of 168Tm has been studied using the (3He, d) and (α, t) proton stripping reactions as well as the (d, t) and (3He, α) neutron pick-up reactions. The beams of 24 MeV 3He particles, 25 MeV α-particles and 12 MeV deuterons were obtained from the McMaster tandem Van de Graaff accelerator. The reaction products were analyzed with an Enge-type magnetic spectrograph and detected with photographic emulsions. The spectra have been interpreted in terms of the coupling of an odd proton and an odd neutron, each moving independently in a spheroidal potential, which gives rise to intrinsic two-quasiparticle states with K = ¦Ω1±Ω2¦. The identification of the intrinsic states was made by comparing the experimental cross-section patterns with those predicted with the aid of Coriolis coupling and distorted-wave Born approximation (DWBA) calculations. Rotational bands superimposed on the Kπ = 3+ and Kπ = 4+, {72+ [633]n±12+ [411]p} configurations, the first of which is the ground state, ha been observed in the spectra of all four reactions. New assignments have been made for configurations resulting from coupling the 12? [541], 72+ [404], 54+ [402] and 12? [530] p to the 72+ [633] neutron state. The neutron pick-up measurements confirmed the earlier assignments based on (d, t) reaction studies and suggested tentative assignments for the {12+ [400]n±12+ [411]p} and {32+ [402]n±12+ [411]p}  相似文献

Coherent production of Kπ, KandK final states from A ~ 20 nuclei by K? beams of 5.5, 10.0 and 12.7 GeV is analyzed. Final states with ? 2πO are included. Coherent Kπ production occurs (although forbidden via 0+ exchange) and is dominated by the K1 (890). The shape of the t distribution, the alignment of the produced meson and the ratio of the cross section on nuclei to that on hydrogen are consistent with optical model predictions assuming that K1 (890) are produced on single nucleons by exchange of isoscalar trajectories of natural parity (JP = 1?, 2+, etc.) and that the K1 (890) absorption in nuclear matter equals that of the K?. Coherent Kππ production (allowed via 0+, 1?, 2+, etc. exchange) is dominated by the Q phenomenon. A Dalitz plot and angular correlation analysis yields values for K?/K1π fractions, and shows that JP = 1+S-waveK1π dominates the coherently produced Q. The helicity of the Q is found to be compatible with 0. The Q? -nucleaon total cross section is estimated to be 0.98?0.37+024 times the K? -nucleon total cross section from a comparison of the coherent Q-production cross section with corresponding hydrogen cross sections at 10 and 12.7 GeV. We observe coherent production of Kω. The ration Kω/Kππ coherently produced in the Q mass region is (4 ± 1)%. Coherent production of K?π+π?andKOπ+π? πO is observed in the L region. Coherent production is not observed in the K4π channels.  相似文献

Revised and more complete vibrational assignments are made for the 3540-Å π1 ← n band system of malonaldehyde. The 0+0? tunneling splitting is found to be 19 ± 11 cm?1 for the 1 state and this represents a 7-cm?1 decrease relative to the ground electronic state. The tunneling splitting and the Franck-Condon envelope of intensities in the 185-cm?1 upper-state progression suggest that the 1B1(nπ1) state is significantly less tightly hydrogen-bonded than the ground 1A1 state.  相似文献

Several rotational bands in 163,165,167Yb are observed in (HI,xnγe?) experiments. The i132 and 32? From a study of (p,t) reactions on 31P and 30Si it is suggested that in 29P the states with Jπ=121+ and 122+, the pair 322+, 521+, and the pair 723+, 921+ are related by weak coupling of a s12 proton with the states 01+, 02+, 21+ and 41+ respectively of 28Si. Completely atypical L = 2 angular distributions have been obtained for the 321+ and 522+ states in 29P and it is suggested that this is due to contribution by two-step processes.  相似文献
