The γ- and conversion electron spectra following131Ba ε-decay are investigated, using HPGe detector and mini-orange electron spectrometer. Attention is particularly focussed
on identifying weak transitions associated with low energy high spin levels in131Cs level scheme earlier inferred in reaction studies but not yet observed in131Ba decay. Our experiment identifies 15 new gammas and 6 new conversion lines in this decay. Internal conversion coefficients
and multipolarities of several transitions are determined. Five new levels (3 with Iπ = 7/2+ and one each with Iπ 9/2+ and 11/2−) are introduced in the131Cs level scheme based on our observations taken together with the results from reaction studies. Spin-parity assignments to

Properties of the decay of136Cs to136Ba are deduced from low temperature nuclear orientation studies. Of particular interest is the observation of attenuated anisotropy
in transitions from the 7- 0.3s isomer at 2031 keV. This is ascribed to the presence of mixed electric/magnetic interaction
in this state which is not collinear with the parent136Cs quantisation axis.

136Pm and136Nd were studied using theβ decay of136Sm and136Pm. The radioactive nuclei were produced by the92Mo (48Ti,xpyn) and112Sn (28Si,xpyn) reactions. The UNISOR isotope separator enabled mass identification. The previously unknown level scheme of136Pm was constructed and the half-life of136Sm was determined to be 47±2 s. Six new levels and thirteen newγ-ray transitions have been added to the level scheme of136Nd. 相似文献

The gamma ray spectra associated with the decay of the136I isomers have been measured by means of a Ge(Li) detector. The iodine samples were produced by using the technique of on-line isotope separation of the fission products of a235U target at the R2-O reactor in Studsvik, Sweden. On the basis of the measured singles and Ge-Ge coincidence spectra a new level scheme was constructed for136Xe. A comparison with theoretical calculations is included. The half-life analysis of the gamma peaks as well as the beta andK X-rays associated with mass 136 iodine showed that there exist three separate half-lives: 48 ± 2 s, 83 ± 3 s and 100 ± 3 s, the last one being not previously reported. The possibility of the existence of three isomeric states in136I is discussed. 相似文献

Excited states of136Ba are studied in the beta decay of136Cs. The gamma spectrum is measured with high-resolution and coincidence techniques. Several new transitions are suggested to be connected with two recently reported levels. Gamma-gamma directional correlations are performed in an attempt to determine the characteristics of these levels, and in order to determine mixing ratios. The lifetime of the 2207.5 keV state is remeasured, and the lifetime of the 2140.5 keV state is measured for the first time. 相似文献

A precision study of the decay of134Cs g and134Cs m has been made, using ordinary Ge(Li) spectrometers and ā Compton-suppression spectrometer. The logft value of the second forbidden nonuniqueβ-decay to134Xe has been measured to be 13.0±0.2. TheM4γ-ray transition in134Csm(8?) decay has been measured to haveα K= 73±7 and a hindrance of 7.0 over the Moskowski estimate. This is discussed in terms of the level configurations and the analogous transition in133Xe. A new intensity limit of 2×10?6 has been set for the zero-phonon transition between the 4+ and 2+ members of the two-phonon triplet. This leads to an upper limit forB(E2)4→2′, greater than 905. This and the more preciseγ-ray intensity values are discussed in relation to presently available nuclear models. 相似文献

The decay of124Ba to the levels of odd-odd124Cs has been studied with on-line mass-separated sources delivered at the Isocele facility. The energy level scheme has been established fromγ-ray singles,γ?γ?t coincidence ande?γ?t coincidence spectra. Spin and parity of several low-lying levels have been assigned on the basis of internal conversion coefficient measurements andβ-branchings. A completely new level pattern including approximately 50 levels and 180γ-rays is proposed for124Cs. 《Nuclear Physics A》1969,130(3):545-562In a study of the level scheme of 131Cs, we have measured the γ-γ and the ce-γ directional correlations of the 496-123.7 keV and 486-133.5 keV cascades. The linear polarization at φ=90° was measured for the 496-123.7 keV and 486-133.5 keV cascades. The L-subshell ratios for the 123.7 keV transition were determined. The g-factor of the 133.5 keV level and the half-lives of the 78.7, 123.7, 133.5 and 216 keV levels were re-investigated. The spin and parity assignments derived for the 620, 133.5 and 123.7 keV levels are
, respectively. The 620, 496, 486, 133.5 and 123.7 keV transitions are found to be of pure E2, pure M1, pure E2, (M1+(22±2)%E2) and pure E2 multipolarity, respectively. An upper limit of 192 ps for the half-life of the 216 keV level is obtained. The results are compared with theoretical estimates from the calculations of Kisslinger and Sorensen, of Freed and of Freed and Miles. 相似文献

The neutron capture cross sections of 134Ba and 136Ba have been measured in the energy region 3 to 100keV. The following average quantities were deduced from the extracted resonance parameters: 〈D〉 = 127±10eV, 104S0 = 0.85±0.3, 104S1 = 0.8, 〈Γγ〉 = 120±20 meV for 134Ba. Analysis of the 136Ba data gave 〈Γγ〉 = 125±30meV for s-wave neutrons. The average 30 keV capture cross sections for these two s-process nuclei were found to be . 相似文献

The decay of127Cs (T 1/2=6.2 h) was investigated by means of a Ge(Li) spectrometer and a double-focusingβ-ray spectrometer. The decay scheme for127Cs is presented including eight new levels. The spins and parities for127Xe levels were determined. Based on the determination of the spins for the ground and first excited levels the spin 9/2 for the isomeric state of127Xe was proposed. Singles and coincidence spectra of gamma rays emitted in the decay of131Ba(11.8d) have been studied with improved statistics. The existence of the level at 1342.07 keV and gamma transitions at 82.58, 461.22, 562.87, 703.53, 1046.4, 1125.97, 1170.53, 1208.43 and 1342.02 keV have been confirmed. Thirteen previously unreported gamma rays at 390.1, 474.2, 506.1, 517.5, 533.7, 596.5, 657.6, 745.5, 757.0, 785.92, 840.9, 1037.0 and 1218.30 keV have been identified and seven new coincidence relations are reported. The level at 596.4 keV is proposed based on coincidence evidence and the level at 657.6 keV is tentatively proposed on the basis of energy differences. All the 62 gamma rays observed in this study have been placed into the decay scheme. 相似文献

The decay of131Ba has been studied by Ge(Li) detector supplemented by Ge(Li)-Ge(Li) fast-slow coincidence and NaI(Tl)-NaI(Tl) sum-coincidence spectrometer. The existence of 31 gamma rays and the levels at 78.8, 123.5, 133.4, 215.7, 373.0, 585.0, 620.0, 696.3 and 1084.4 keV have been confirmed. No evidences are found for the level at 1170 keV and 215.7?78.8 and 696.3?373.0 transitions. Some transitions are found to be connected with the impurities which were attributed to131Ba decay in earlier studies. The relative intensities and conversion coefficients have been determined and multipolarities of some of the transitions infered from the comparison of the conversion coefficients with the theoretical values. 相似文献

The isotope shifts of the resonance line of 131Cs, 132Cs, and 136Cs with respect to 133Cs were determined by a new scanning technique to be , , . In accordance with results from other Cs isotopes and neighbouring elements they show the change 〈δr2〉 in the second radial moment of the nuclear charge distribution to be a factor of 5 to 10 smaller than expected from the model of uniform charge distribution. Integral isotope shifts over the isotopic chains of Xe, Cs, and Ba were analyzed in terms of collective models. Assuming an isotopic shift discrepancy of 0.5 for the nuclear volume shift it was possible to derive deformation parameters in quantitative agreement with those from B(E2) measurements. 相似文献

The ground state decay of133Ba was investigated using NaI(Tl) scintillation crystals.P L/PK electron capture ratios were measured for the transitions to the 437 keV and to the 384 keV level of133Cs. The results are: (P L/PK)437=0.371±0.007 and (PP L/PK)384=0.221±0.005. From these data a mass difference between the ground states of the133Ba- and the133Cs-atom of (515±3) keV was derived. Besides, these capture ratios yield an exchange correction of 1.03±0.03. Furthermore, the intensity of the transition to the 161 keV level was determined to be smaller than 0.5% of all decays. 相似文献
