A novel no-guide light pen type 3D-coordinate measurement system with three sets of position sensitive devices (PSDs) to realize intersection converge imaging is introduced. It is called as the light pen type measurement system, because the measuring head is shaped as a pen with several light sources on it. The structure design, measurement principle and experimental results are presented. The theoretical analysis and experimental results prove that this system has advanced features of simple structure, high automation, and high accuracy, and can be used in the measurement fields of mechanical manufacture, robot, auto, aviation and medicine effectively.  相似文献

The theory of diffusion gradient-weighted MRI (DGWI) is presented in this paper. The Bloch-Torrey equation was modified to include the effect of intravoxel spatial-location variation of water diffusion (diffusion gradient) on MRI signal, in addition to the effect of intravoxel spatial-direction variation of water diffusion (diffusion anisotropy). An analytical solution for a diffusion-encoding spin-echo pulse sequence was derived. Unlike water diffusion which attenuates the image signal intensity, this newly derived solution relates the spatial gradient of the water diffusion with the phase of the image signal. This novel MRI technique directly measures both the water diffusion and its spatial gradient, and thus offers a noninvasive imaging tool to simultaneously investigate the intravoxel inhomogeneity and anisotropy of tissue structures. In addition, as demonstrated with our preliminary data, this new method may be utilized to delineate the interfaces of tissues with different diffusion. This method is an extension of the successful diffusion tensor MRI (DTI), but requires no additional data acquisition. In addition to the measured diffusion tensor, this new method provides measurements of the spatial derivatives of the three principal diffusivities of the tensor, thereby providing additional information for improving white matter fiber tractography.  相似文献

A new diffusion anisotropy index, ellipsoidal area ratio (EAR), was described recently and proved to be less noise-sensitive than fractional anisotropy (FA) by theory and simulation. Here we show that EAR has higher signal-to-noise ratios than FA in average diffusion tensor imaging data from 40 normal subjects. EAR was also more sensitive than FA in detecting white matter abnormalities in a patient with widespread diffuse axonal injury. Monte Carlo simulation showed that EAR's mean values are more biased by noise than FA when anisotropy is small, both for single fiber tracts and when fiber tracts cross. However, the improved signal-to-noise ratio of EAR relative to FA suggests that EAR may be a superior measure of anisotropy both in quantifying both deep white matter with relatively uniform fiber tracts and pericortical white matter structure with relatively low anisotropy and fiber crossings.  相似文献

It is shown that results of available theoretical analyses of the far-field sound pressure due to a simple source above an absorbing plane are capable of simple interpretation, and that certain published experimental values of excess attenuation obtained from measurements near the ground are consistent with such results. The effects of changing various parameters are demonstrated and estimates made of the errors likely to be incurred if effects of ground absorption are ignored when determining normalized values of the noise of aircraft.  相似文献

We used diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) to investigate the behavior of water diffusion in cerebral structural abnormalities. The fractional anisotropy, a measure of directionality of the molecular motion of water, and the mean diffusivity, a measure of the magnitude of the molecular motion of water, were measured in 18 patients with longstanding partial epilepsy and structural abnormalities on standard magnetic resonance imaging and the results compared with measurements in the white matter of 10 control subjects. Structural abnormalities were brain damage (postsurgical brain damage, nonspecific brain damage, perinatal brain damage, perinatal infarct, ischemic infarct, perinatal hypoxia, traumatic brain damage (n = 3), mitochondrial cytopathy and mesiotemporal sclerosis), dysgenesis (cortical dysplasia (n = 2) and heterotopia) and tumors (meningioma (n = 2), hypothalamic hamartoma and glioma). Anisotropy was reduced in all structural abnormalities. In the majority of abnormalities this was associated with an increased mean diffusivity; however, 30% of all structural abnormalities (some patients with brain damage and dysgenesis) had a normal mean diffusivity in combination with a reduced anisotropy. There was no correlation between fractional anisotropy and mean diffusivity measurements in structural abnormalities (r = -0.1). Our findings suggest that DTI is sensitive for the detection of a variety of structural abnormalities, that a reduced anisotropy is the common denominator in structural cerebral abnormalities of different etiologies and that mean diffusivity and fractional anisotropy may be, in part, independent. Combined measurements of mean diffusivity and fractional anisotropy are likely to increase the specificity of DTI.  相似文献

Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) studies of human ischemic stroke within 24 h of symptom onset have reported variable findings of changes in diffusion anisotropy. Serial DTI within 24 h may clarify these heterogeneous results. We characterized longitudinal changes of diffusion anisotropy by analyzing discrete ischemic white matter (WM) and gray matter (GM) regions during the hyperacute (2.5-7 h) and acute (21.5-29 h) scanning phases of ischemic stroke onset in 13 patients. Mean diffusivity (MD), fractional anisotropy (FA) and T2-weighted signal intensity were measured for deep and subcortical WM and deep and cortical GM areas in lesions outlined by a > or =30% decrease in MD. Average reductions of approximately 40% in relative (r) MD were observed in all four brain regions during both the hyperacute and acute phases post stroke. Overall, 9 of 13 patients within 7 h post symptom onset showed elevated FA in at least one of the four tissues, and within the same cohort, 11 of 13 patients showed reduced FA in at least one of the ischemic WM and GM regions at 21.5-29 h after stroke. The fractional anisotropy in the lesion relative to the contralateral side (rFA, mean+/-S.D.) was significantly elevated in some patients in the deep WM (1.10+/-0.11, n=4), subcortical WM (1.13+/-0.14, n=4), deep GM (1.07+/-0.06, n=1) and cortical GM (1.22+/-0.13, n=5) hyperacutely (< or =7 h); however, reductions of rFA at approximately 24 h post stroke were more consistent (rFA= 0.85+/-0.12).  相似文献

The recently presented B-matrix Spatial Distribution (BSD) approach is a calibration technique which derives the actual distribution of the B-matrix in space. It is claimed that taking into account the spatial variability of the B-matrix improves the accuracy of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). The purpose of this study is to verify this approach theoretically through computer simulations.Assuming three different spatial distributions of the B-matrix, diffusion weighted signals were calculated for the six orientations of a model anisotropic phantom. Subsequently two variants of the BSD calibration were performed for each of the three cases; one with the assumption of high uniformity of the model phantom (uBSD-DTI) and the other taking into account imperfections in phantom structure (BSD-DTI). Several cases of varying degrees of phantom uniformity were analyzed and the distributions of the B-matrix obtained were used for the calculation of the diffusion tensor of a model isotropic phantom. The results were compared with standard diffusion tensor calculation.The simulations confirmed the improvement of accuracy in the determination of the diffusion tensor after the calibration. BSD-DTI improves accuracy independent of both the degree of uniformity of the phantom and the inhomogeneity of the B-matrix. In cases of a relatively good uniformity of the phantom and minor distortions in the spatial distribution of the B-matrix, the uBSD-DTI approach is sufficient.  相似文献

A detailed account of quantum chemical procedures for estimating the rate constants of the photophysical processes at work in polyatomic organic molecules is given. The results obtained from combined experimental and theoretical research into the spectral-luminescent properties of acridine, 9-aminoacridine, 2,7-dimethyl-9-diphenylaminoacridine, and of their protonated forms are reported. The electronic absorption and fluorescence spectra of acridine have been investigated at room temperature in ethanol solution of varying pH and in other solvents of different chemical nature and polarity. The energy of excited states, the rate constants of the deactivation of the excited states, and the dipole moments obtained by quantum chemical methods for the examined compounds are presented. This paper describes experiments conducted on the modelling of traffic noise using a 180th scale model of a subdivision of a city. The emphasis in this study was on the correct evaluation of ground absorption effects. There were essentially four phases to the study. First, the applicability of various scaling law regimes was examined. It was shown that 180th scaling using air as a transmission medium was at least a practical choice. The second phase concerned itself with the choice of materials for the model, particularly that which was to simulate the ground. An impedance measuring apparatus was developed and used to test materials. The third part of the work concerned itself with the development of an anechoic enclosure and a sound source to simulate traffic noise; modulated Hartmann whistles were used for this purpose. Finally, a model of part of a residential area of Calgary was built and sound transmission measurements obtained. These results were compared with field measurements. It was shown that good agreement existed between the field and model measurements.  相似文献

This study investigated the properties of a class of rotationally invariant and symmetric (relative to the principal diffusivities) indices of the anisotropy of water self-diffusion, namely fractional anisotropy (FA), relative anisotropy (RA), and volume ratio (VR), with particular emphasis to their measurement in brain tissues. A simplified theoretical analysis predicted significant differences in the sensitivities of the anisotropy indices (AI) over the distribution of the principal diffusivities. Computer simulations were used to investigate the effects on AI image quality of three magnetic resonance (MR) diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) acquisition schemes, one being novel: the schemes were simulated on cerebral model fibres varying in shape and spatial orientation. The theoretical predictions and the results of the simulations were corroborated by experimentally determined spatial maps of the AI in a normal feline brain in vivo. We found that FA mapped diffusion anisotropy with the greatest detail and SNR whereas VR provided the strongest contrast between low- and high-anisotropy areas at the expense of increased noise contamination and decreased resolution in anisotropic regions. RA proved intermediate in quality. By sampling the space of the effective diffusion ellipsoid more densely and uniformly and requiring the same total imaging time as the published schemes, the novel DTI scheme achieved greater rotational invariance than the published schemes, with improved noise characteristics, resulting in improved image quality of the AI examined. Our findings suggest that significant improvements in diffusion anisotropy mapping are possible and provide criteria for the selection of the most appropriate AI for a particular application.  相似文献

The effect of dislocations on the elementary acts of the magnetization reversal in the epitaxial heterostructure NiFe/NiO/MgO(001) has been studied using the magneto-optical indicator film technique. It has been found that the edge dislocations grouped along the 〈110〉 slip planes lead to the formation of quasi-one-dimensional domains in the permalloy film with the induced uniaxial anisotropy oriented along these planes the direction of which differs by 90° from that of the uniaxial anisotropy in the dislocation-free part of the heterostructure. The micromechanism of the observed effect has been discussed taking into account the effect of dislocations on the orientation of spins in the antiferromagnet and their exchange interaction with the spins of the ferromagnet on the interphase plane.  相似文献

We report on a theoretical and experimental study of an all-normal-dispersion (ANDi) Yb-doped mode-locked fiber laser, in which nonlinear polarization rotation (NPR) is used to realize mode-locking without any dispersion compensation. Based on the coupled nonlinear Schrdinger (CNLS) equation, a model simulating the mode-locked process of an allnormal-dispersion ring fiber laser is developed, which shows that the achievement of stable mode-locking depends on the alignment of the polarization controller (PC) along the fast-polarization axis of the fiber, the birefringence intensity, and the net cavity dispersion. According to the theoretical analysis, stable mode-locked pulses with pulse duration 300 ps and average output power 33.9mW at repetition rate 36MHz are obtained.  相似文献

Twin beams generated by OPOs show quantum noise reduction. For type I crystals they reduce in the degenerate case to a single mode, which below threshold exhibits some degree of squeezing. In the nondegenerate case squeezing occurs in the spectrum of their intensity difference. After a theoretical analysis of their spectral properties in both non- and degenerate cases, measured intensity noise correlation and single beam spectra are discussed for pump powers up to 14 times the threshold value.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to discuss the possible appearance of non-perfect grain boundary dislocations in grain boundaries in a variety of materials. To begin with, we survey some of the different theoretical treatments which enable grain boundary dislocations and grain boundary structures to be described. The emphasis is put on more recent ideas, and on illustrating the power of group theory in identifying non-perfect grain boundary dislocations. A derivation of the geometric characteristics of interfacial dislocations is carried out in a simple and tutorial way, in a number of representative examples. It is shown that grain boundary dislocations may be divided into three classes: (1) perfect grain boundary dislocations, (2) imperfect grain boundary dislocations, and (3) partial grain boundary dislocations. Experimental transmission electron microscope evidence is then presented for boundaries in the diamond cubic structure, and it is shown that imperfect and partial grain boundary dislocations play an important role in this system. Finally, a comparison of some grain boundary dislocation types in different materials is given.  相似文献

A unifying theoretical and algorithmic framework for diffusion tensor estimation is presented. Theoretical connections among the least squares (LS) methods, (linear least squares (LLS), weighted linear least squares (WLLS), nonlinear least squares (NLS) and their constrained counterparts), are established through their respective objective functions, and higher order derivatives of these objective functions, i.e., Hessian matrices. These theoretical connections provide new insights in designing efficient algorithms for NLS and constrained NLS (CNLS) estimation. Here, we propose novel algorithms of full Newton-type for the NLS and CNLS estimations, which are evaluated with Monte Carlo simulations and compared with the commonly used Levenberg-Marquardt method. The proposed methods have a lower percent of relative error in estimating the trace and lower reduced chi2 value than those of the Levenberg-Marquardt method. These results also demonstrate that the accuracy of an estimate, particularly in a nonlinear estimation problem, is greatly affected by the Hessian matrix. In other words, the accuracy of a nonlinear estimation is algorithm-dependent. The mid-IR and Raman spectra of 8-hydroxy-2-quinolinecarboxylic acid (8HQC) were recorded. These spectra were interpreted with the help of B3LYP/6–311 ++G(d,p) calculations and potential energy distribution (PED) analysis. As a result of the calculations, seven tautomers were determined among many stable conformations. The experimental spectra were concordant with the theoretical data of one tautomer. In the functional group region overtone and combination bands were detected and assigned. In addition, because of several peaks in the IR spectrum, it was proposed that the 8HQC exhibits dimerization in condensed phase. Possible dimeric forms of 8HQC were evaluated at the same level of theory, and it has been seen that the calculation results confirm the above proposal. 1H and 13C NMR chemical shifts of 8HQC have been calculated, and compared with the experimental data. The frontier molecular orbital properties and the atomic charges were also theoretically obtained and presented.  相似文献
