We predict the branching ratios of the lepton flavor violating radion decays r→e±μ±, r→e±τ± and r→μ±τ± in the framework of the Randall-Sundrum scenario in which the lepton flavor violation is by scalar unparticle mediation. We observe that their BRs are strongly sensitive to the unparticle scaling dimension and, for small values, the branching ratios can reach values of the order of 10-8, for the heavy lepton flavor case.  相似文献

We predict the branching ratios of the Z→e±μ±, Z→e±τ± and Z→μ±τ± decays in the framework of the 2HDM, in the split fermion scenario. We observe that the branching ratios are not sensitive to a single extra dimension; however, this sensitivity is considerably large for two extra dimensions.  相似文献

We study the branching ratios of the lepton flavor violating processes μ→eγ, τ→eγ and τ→μγ by considering that the new Higgs scalars localize with Gaussian profile in the extra dimension. We see that the BRs of the LFV decays μ→eγ, τ→eγ and τ→μγ are at the order of magnitude of 10-12, 10-16 and 10-12 in the considered range of the free parameters. These numerical values are slightly suppressed in the case that the localization points of new Higgs scalars are different from the origin.  相似文献

We investigate the effects of unparticles on γγ→γγ scattering for the photon collider mode of the future multi-TeV e+e- linear collider. We show the effects of unparticles on the differential, and total scattering cross sections for different polarization configurations. Considering 1-loop standard model background contributions from the charged fermions and W± bosons to the cross section, we calculate the upper limits on the unparticle couplings λ0 to the photons for various values of the scaling dimension d (1<d<2) at = 0.5–5 TeV.  相似文献

Using a data sample of integrated luminosity of about 33 pb-1 collected around 3.773 GeV with the BESII detector at the BEPC collider, the semileptonic decays D+→φe+νe, D+→φμ+νμ and the hadronic decay D+→φπ+ are studied. The upper limits of the branching fractions are set to be BF(D+→φe+νe)<2.01% and BF(D+→φμ+νμ)<2.04% at the 90% confidence level. The ratio of the branching fractions for D+→φπ+ relative to D+→K-π+π+ is measured to be 0.057±0.011±0.003. In addition, the branching fraction for D+→φπ+ is obtained to be (5.2±1.0±0.4)×10-3.  相似文献

In the framework of a left–right model containing mirror fermions with gauge group SU(3) C ⊗SU(2) L ⊗SU(2) R ⊗U(1) Y, we estimate the neutrino masses, which are found to be consistent with their experimental bounds and hierarchy. We evaluate the decay rates of the Lepton Flavor Violation (LFV) processes μ, τμγ and τ. We obtain upper limits for the flavor-changing branching ratios in agreement with their present experimental bounds. We also estimate the decay rates of heavy Majorana neutrinos in the channels NW ± l , N l and N l , which are roughly equal for large values of the heavy neutrino mass. Starting from the most general Majorana neutrino mass matrix, the smallness of active neutrino masses turns out from the interplay of the hierarchy of the involved scales and the double application of seesaw mechanism. An appropriate parameterization on the structure of the neutrino mass matrix imposing a symmetric mixing of electron neutrino with muon and tau neutrinos leads to tri-bimaximal mixing matrix for light neutrinos.  相似文献

We present the branching ratio predictions of an isospin statistical model forτ decays to four, five and six pions. Limits on the branching ratios of the three possible six pionτ decay modes using the Conserved Vector Current (CVC) Hypothesis and thee + e →6π cross section data are also presented. We find that the isospin model prediction is in good agreement with the well-measured four pion decay modes and consistent with the five pion decay modes. However, we find that some of the recent six pionτ measurements do not agree with the isospin model and the CVC prediction.  相似文献

We study the branching ratios of the lepton flavor violating processes μ→eγ, τ→eγ and τ→μγ in the split fermion scenario, with the assumption that the new Higgs doublet is restricted to the 4D brane (thin bulk) in one and two extra dimensions, in the framework of the two Higgs doublet model. We observe that the branching ratios are sensitive to the location of the 4D brane and, in the second case, the width of the thin bulk, especially for the μ→eγ decay.  相似文献

Even tiny lepton flavor violation (LFV) due to some New Physics is able to alter the conditions inside a collapsing supernova core and probably to facilitate the explosion. LFV emerges naturally in a see-saw type-II model of neutrino mass generation. Experimentally, the LFV beyond the Standard Model is constrained by rare lepton decay searches. In particular, strong bounds are imposed on the μ → eee branching ratio and on the μ-e conversion in muonic gold. Currently, the μ→eγ is under investigation in the MEG experiment that aims at a dramatic increase in sensitivity in the next three years. We seek a see-saw type-II LFV pattern that fits all the experimental constraints, leads to Br(μ →eγ) ≳ Br(μμ →eee), and ensures a rate of LFV processes in supernova high enough to modify the supernova physics. These requirements are sufficient to eliminate almost all freedom in the model. In particular, they lead to the prediction 0.4 × 10−12 ≲ Br(μ → eγ) ≲ 6 × 10−12, which will be testable by MEG in the nearest future. The considered scenario also constrains the neutrino mass-mixing pattern and provides lower and upper bounds on τ-lepton LFV decays. We also briefly discuss a model with a single bilepton in which the μ → eee decay is absent at the tree level.  相似文献

Neutral triple-gauge-boson couplings ZZZ, ZZγ and Zγγ have been studied with the DELPHI detector using data at energies between 183 and 208 GeV. Limits are derived on these couplings from an analysis of the reactions e+e-→Zγ, using data from the final states γff̄, with f=q or ν, from e+e-→ZZ, using data from the four-fermion final states qq̄qq̄, qq̄μ+μ-, qq̄e+e-, qq̄νν̄, μ+μ-νν̄ and e+e-νν̄, and from e+e-→Zγ*, in which the final state γ is off mass-shell, using data from the four-fermion final states qq̄e+e- and qq̄μ+μ-. No evidence for the presence of such couplings is observed, in agreement with the predictions of the Standard Model.  相似文献

Using the data of about 33 pb-1 collected at and around 3.773 GeV with the BES-II detector at the BEPC collider, we have studied the exclusive semileptonic decays D+→K-π+e+νe, D0→K̄0π-e+νe, D+→K̄*0e+νe and D0→K*-e+νe. The absolute branching fractions for the decays are measured to be BF(D+→K-π+e+νe)=(3.50±0.75±0.27)%, BF(D0→K̄0π-e+νe)=(2.61±1.04±0.28)%, BF(D+→K̄*0e+νe)=(5.06±1.21±0.40)% and BF(D0→K*-e+νe)=(2.87±1.48±0.39)%. The ratio of the vector to pseudoscalar semileptonic decay rates Γ(D+→K̄*0e+νe)/Γ(D+→K̄0e+νe) is determined to be 0.57±0.17±0.02.  相似文献

In this paper we study the lepton polarization asymmetry for the semileptonic OZI-forbidden annihilation decay B- c→η’ℓ-ν̄, where ℓ=μ,τ. Our results show that the branching ratios turn out to be of order 10-4. Besides, we find that longitudinal, transversal and normal components of lepton polarizations can be measured for both μ and τ decay modes in the future experiments at the LHC. We further discuss possible sgoldstino interpretation of the observation, reported by the HyperCP collaboration, of three Σ+pμ+μ decay events with the dimuon invariant mass 214.3 MeV within the detector resolution. With a sgoldstino mass equal to 214.3 MeV, this interpretation can be verified at existing and future B and ϕ factories. We find that the most natural values of the branching ratios of two-body B and D meson decays to sgoldstino P and vector meson V are about 10−6−10−7. The branching ratios of ϕ meson decay ϕ → Pγ are estimated to be in the range 1.8 × 10−13−1.6 × 10−7, depending on the hierarchy of supersymmetry-breaking soft terms. Similar branching ratios for ρ and ω mesons are in the range 10−14−3.4 × 10−7. The text was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献

The rare B s φ + decay is investigated by using the most general model-independent effective Hamiltonian for =μ,τ. The calculated value of Br(B s φ μ + μ )=1.92×10−6 is consistent with the experimental upper bound. The dependencies of the branching ratios and polarization asymmetries of leptons and combined lepton–antilepton asymmetries on the new Wilson coefficients are presented. The analysis shows that the branching ratios and the lepton-polarization asymmetries are very sensitive to scalar- and tensor-type interactions. The results obtained in this work will be very useful in searching new physics beyond the standard model.  相似文献

We re-investigate the radiative charged kaon decay K±→π0e±νeγ [Ke3γ ±] in chiral perturbation theory, merging the chiral expansion with Low’s theorem. We thoroughly analyze the precision of the predicted branching ratio relative to the non-radiative decay channel. Structure dependent terms and their impact on differential decay distributions are investigated in detail, and the possibility to see effects of the chiral anomaly in this decay channel is emphasized. The LHC (CMS) discovery potential in the search for supersymmetry and lepton-flavor violation in neutralino decays using the e ± μ + E T miss signature is studied. A detailed study is done for the CMS test points LM1-LM9. It is shown that, for the point LM1, it is possible to detect lepton-flavor violation in neutralino decays with lepton-flavor-violating branching Br( → μ± e ) ≥ 0.04 Br( → e + e , μ+ μ ) for an integral luminosity of 10 fb−1. The discovery potential in the mSUGRA-SUSY scenario with tan β = 10, sgn(μ) = + in the (m 0, m 1/2) plane using the e ± μ + E T miss signature is determined. Using form factors derived from the light-cone sum rules, we investigate B s φℓ + (=e,μ,τ) in a single universal extra dimension model (UED). In UED, there is only one new parameter with respect to the Standard Model (SM), which is the inverse of the compactification radius R of the extra dimension. In this work, the branching ratios, the dilepton invariant mass spectra, the forward–backward asymmetries, and the lepton polarization asymmetries of B s φℓ + are calculated. For a lower value of 1/R, there are some considerable discrepancies between the UED and SM. However, with the increase of 1/R, the effect of UED tends to diminish; in particular for 1/R≥1000 GeV, two models have approximately the same predictions. Compared with data from CDF for B s φμ + μ , we find that the 1/R tends to be larger than 350 GeV. We also find that the zero crossing point of the forward–backward asymmetry of B s φμ + μ becomes smaller, which would be an important platform for probing the UED effect. These results could be tested in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN and the future super-B factory.  相似文献

We present an analysis with improved sensitivity to the light charged Higgs (mH+ < mt-mbm_{H^{+}} < m_{t}-m_{b}) searches in the top quark decays tbH +b(τ + ν τ )+c.c. in the t[`(t)]t\bar{t} and single t/[`(t)]t/\bar{t} production processes at the LHC. In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), one anticipates the branching ratio B (H+ ?t+nt) @ 1{\mathcal{B}} (H^{+} \to\tau^{+}\nu_{\tau})\simeq1 over almost the entire allowed tanb\tan\beta range. Noting that the τ + arising from the decay H +τ + ν τ are predominantly right-polarized, as opposed to the τ + from the dominant background W +τ + ν τ , which are left-polarized, a number of H +/W +τ + ν τ discriminators have been proposed and studied in the literature. We consider hadronic decays of the τ ±, concentrating on the dominant one-prong decay channel τ ±ρ ± ν τ . The energy and p T of the charged prongs normalised to the corresponding quantities of the ρ ± are convenient variables which serve as τ ± polariser. We use the distributions in these variables and several other kinematic quantities to train a boosted decision tree (BDT). Using the BDT classifier, and a variant of it called BDTD, which makes use of decorrelated variables, we have calculated the BDT(D)-response functions to estimate the signal efficiency vs. the rejection of the background. We argue that this chain of analysis has a high sensitivity to light charged Higgs searches up to a mass of 150 GeV in the decays tbH + (and charge conjugate) at the LHC. For the case of single top production, we also study the transverse mass of the system determined using Lagrange multipliers.  相似文献
