The catalytic activity for the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide by anion-exchangers modified with metal complexes of thiacalix[4]arenetetrasulfonate (Me(n+)-TCAS[4], Me(n+)=Mn(3+), Mn(2+), Fe(3+), Co(3+), Co(2+), Cu(2+), Zn(2+) and Ni(2+)) was investigated. As a reference, calix[4]arenetetrasulfonate, calix[6]arenehexasulfonate and calix[8]areneoctasulfonate were also examined. Mn(3+)- and Fe(3+)-TCAS[4] on the modified anion-exchangers showed high catalytic activity in alkaline buffer solutions among metal complexes tested. Mn(3+)- and Fe(3+)-TCAS[4] on the modified anion-exchangers exhibited high and constant levels of catalytic activity even after having been used 5 times, and showed catalytic activity in the presence of an excess of H(2)O(2) over Mn(3+)- and Fe(3+)-TCAS[4] on the modified anion-exchangers. Only Mn(3+)-TCAS[4] on the modified anion-exchangers exhibited high catalytic activity at around a neutral pH.  相似文献

An iron(III) complex of thiacalix[4]arenetetrasulfonate on a modified anion-exchanger (Fe3+-TCAS(A-500)) has shown high peroxidase-like activity at pH 5 - 6 for the reaction of quinoid-dye formation between 3-methyl-2-benzothiazolinone hydrazone and N-(3-sulfopropyl)aniline in the presence of hydrogen peroxide. Utilizing the peroxidase-like activity of Fe3+-TCAS(A-500) for this reaction, a method using Fe3+-TCAS(A-500) was applied for the spectrophotometric determination of hydrogen peroxide. The calibration curve by the method using Fe3+-TCAS(A-500) was linear over the range from 1 to 10 microg of hydrogen peroxide in a 1 ml sample solution. The apparent molar absorptivity for hydrogen peroxide was 2.4 x 10(4) l mol(-1) cm(-1). which was about 80% of that by peroxidase under the same conditions. This determination method of hydrogen peroxide using Fe3+-TCAS(A-500) was applied for the determination of glucose in diluted normal and abnormal control serum I and II.  相似文献

The scavenging effects of metal complexes of thiacalix[4]arenetetrasulfonate (Me-TCAS[4], Me=H?, Fe3(+), Mn3(+), Mn2(+), Cu2(+), and Zn2(+)) on superoxide anion radicals (O??) generated from the xanthine-xanthine oxidase system were investigated by the nitroblue tetrazolium (NBT) method and electron spin resonance (ESR) spin-trapping method using 5,5-dimethyl-1-pyrroline-N-oxide as a trapping reagent. As a reference, calix[4]arenetetrasulfonate (H?)-CAS[4]), calix[6]arenehexasulfonate (H?-CAS[6]) and calix[8]areneoctasulfonate (H?-CAS[8]) were also examined. The results by the NBT method indicated that Fe3(+)- and Mn3(+)-TCAS[4] exhibited the highest O?? scavenging activity among Me-TCAS[4] and H?-CAS[n] (n = 4, 6, 8) in this study. The IC?? values of Fe3(+)- and Mn3(+)-TCAS[4] for O?? scavenging activity were estimated to be 5.3 and 7.8 μM, respectively, and were almost the same as those of tannin acid, catechin and their derivatives, which are known as very effective scavengers of O??. Scavenging activities were in the order of Fe3(+)- and Mn3(+)-TCAS[4]>Mn2(+)-, Cu2(+)-, and Zn(2+)-TCAS[4]>H(2)-TCAS[4] and H?-CAS[n] (n=4, 6, 8). Each activity of Me-TCAS[4] (Me=Fe3(+), Mn3(+), Mn2(+), Cu2(+), and Zn2(+)) was higher than that of the corresponding metal ion, indicating that H?-TCAS[4] has the ability to raise the activity of the metal ion itself by forming a complex. Also, the ESR spin-trapping method revealed that Fe3(+)- and Mn3(+)-TCAS[4] showed high O?? scavenging activities, similarly to the results by the NBT method.  相似文献

Starting from the thiacalix[4]arene tetraacetate, novel derivatives bearing four ureido or thioureido functions on the lower rim have been prepared. As proven by NMR titrations, these compounds can bind anions via hydrogen bonding interactions and represent the first example of anion receptors in the thiacalixarene series.  相似文献

Thiacalix[4]arenes possessing carboxylic groups were used for the design of potential dendritic cores with amino surface groups. The known tetraacetic acid in the 1,3-alternate conformation gave the desired product in very low yield because of steric hindrance on thiacalix[4]arene moiety. Therefore, synthetic strategy based on withdrawing of the carboxyl groups via benzylic spacer from the thiacalix[4]arene moiety was successfully applied for the realization of novel thiacalix[4]arenes bearing two or four protected lysine units.  相似文献

A comparative study on Zn2+ and Cu2+ complexes of the novel compound 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-25,27-bis{[4-(methoxycarbonyl)phenyl]methoxy}-2,8,14,20-tetrathiacalix[4]arene, that possesses potential as a core unit for the construction of molecular receptors, is presented using semiempirical AM1 calculation. The possible structures of each metal complex and their corresponding energetic data are compared with the parent 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-2,8,14,20-tetrathiacalix[4]arene. The complexation ability of both thiacalix[4]arenes towards the two metal ions is discussed on the basis of binding energies. Both thiacalix[4]arene 1:1 complexes show higher complexation ability towards Cu2+. However, 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-25,27-bis{[4-(methoxycarbonyl)phenyl]methoxy}-2,8,14,20-tetrathiacalix[4]arene presents lower complexation ability when compared with the 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-2,8,14,20-tetrathiacalix[4]arene. The results of liquid–liquid extraction experiments of the thiacalix[4]arenes are in good agreement with the theoretical calculations.  相似文献

Potentiometric sensors based on glassy carbon electrode covered with polyaniline and thiacalix[4]arenes containing amidopyridine, morpholide, pyrrolidide and hydrazide functional groups in cone, partial cone and 1,3-alternate conformations have been developed and applied for determination of Ag(+) ions in the range from 1.0 x 10(-2) to 4.0 x 10(-7)M and limits of detection from 1 x 10(-7) to 3.5 x 10(-8)M. The sensitivity of Ag(+) detection decreases in the following range of thiacalix[4]arene substituents: morpholide>pyrrolidide>amidopyridine>hydrazide. Potentiometric selectivity coefficients predominantly showed binding of Ag(+), Hg(II) and Fe(III) ions over other transient and alkali metals. The influence of functional groups and conformation of receptor on the selectivity of the sensor response was investigated. As shown, selectivity and sensitivity of Ag(+) determination depends on the steric accessibility of the binding site and flexibility of the receptor structure. For Fe(III) ions, changes of the sensor potential are also determined by their implementation in redox reactions of polyaniline.  相似文献

The recognition ability of pyridinyl hydrazone derivatives of cone- and 1,3-alternate tetrathiacalix[4]arenes towards transition and alkali metals has been investigated by picrate extraction method. The stoichiometry of complexes and the extraction constants have been determined. It has been found that hydrazones do not extract alkali metal ions but show an excellent affinity towards transition and heavy metal cations. The removal of tert-butyl groups from calix[4]arene platform in the case of cone and 1,3-alternate isomers leads to an increase of d-ion extraction selectivity or efficiency.  相似文献

The catalytic activity of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) in the presence of hydrogen peroxide has been investigated for the fluorescent derivatization of kynurenic acid under conditions with no exposure to light. Non-fluorescent kynurenic acid was converted into a fluorescent compound (Ex: 367 nm, Em: 470 nm) with HRP in the presence of hydrogen peroxide, and the optimum conditions of this fluorescent derivatization were investigated. Moreover, this fluorescent derivatization was developed for a spectrofluorometric determination of trace amounts of kynurenic acid by measuring the fluorescence intensity of the fluorescent compound. The calibration curve obtained was linear from 1.0 to 10.0 nmol of kynurenic acid in a 1.0 mL sample solution. The relative standard deviation at 5.0 nmol of kynurenic acid was 5.71% (n=5). By adjusting the bandwidths for both the excitation and emission to 15 nm, the calibration curve was also linear in the range between 0.1 to 1.0 nmol of kynurenic acid in a 1.0 mL sample solution. This method was applied to the fluorometric determination of trace amounts of kynurenic acid in the control sera.  相似文献

A new petentiometric method to determine peroxide hydrogen and glucose had been studied. This method had been applied on the petentiometric determination of peroxide hydrogen and glucose in the total ionic strength adjustment buffer (TISAB) (pH 7.5) solution with the glassy electrode modified by the calix[4]arene. The glassy carbon electrode covered with the calix[4]arene depended on the H2O2 concentration in the range of log[H2O2] from −3.3 to −1.2 in the solution of TISAB (pH 7.5) with nearly Nernstian slope of about 65.6 ± 3 mV and the detection limit of peroxide hydrogen was 4.0 × 10−5 mol L−1. The glassy carbon electrode covered with the calix[4]arene depended on the glucose concentration in the range of log[glucose] from −3.6 to −2.8 in the solution of TISAB (pH 7.5) with nearly Nernstian slope of about 50.2 ± 2 mV and the detection limit of glucose was 2.0 × 10−5 mol L−1. The electrode had the good selectivity, sensitivity, stability and repeatability.  相似文献

Novel self-assembled supramolecular networks were prepared by the interactions of thiacalix[4]arenes bearing simple alkyl groups on the lower rim (4×MeO-, 4×n-PrO-) with silver triflate. Contrary to the classical calix[4]arenes (with CH2 bridges between the aromatic moieties), the presence of four sulfur atoms enables the formation of S-Ag-S connections between the individual molecules leading to the coordination topology so far unknown in calixarene chemistry. These systems form infinite 1-D coordination polymeric structures in the solid state, where the thiacalixarene moieties are preorganized in a side-by-side arrangement. Interestingly, the linear coordination polymers were obtained using both the conformational immobilised (4×n-PrO, cone, 1,3-alternate conformers) and the conformational mobile (4×MeO) thiacalix[4]arenes, which indicates the generality of this behaviour in thiacalixarene series.  相似文献

Using a click reaction between alkynylthiacalix[4]arene and ethyl 2-azidoacetate followed by an ammonolysis with ethanolamine,leucinol and hydrazine hydrate,respectively,three novel thiacalix [4]arene derivatives 4,5 and 6 with triazolyl and hydrogen bonding groups(NH and OH) were synthesized in high yields.They exhibited excellent extraction capability for six anionic and cationic dyes.The flexible cavity,π-triazole rings and hydrogen bonding groups all play crucial roles in dye complexation.  相似文献

A rapid column-adsorption method has been developed for concentrating traces of copper, cadmium, and lead in water prior to their determinations by graphite-furnace atomic-absorption spectrometry. The adsorbent used was prepared by loading a strongly basic anion-exchanger QAE-Sephadex A-25 (50 mg) with thiacalix[4]arenetetrasulfonate (20 mol). Two-hundredfold preconcentration of the analyte elements was achieved by passing 100 mL of sample solution (pH 8.0) through a column packed with the adsorbent (6 mm i.d.×7 mm high) at a flow rate of 10 mL min–1 and by the subsequent elution with 500 L of aqueous nitric acid solution (1 mol L–1). The practical applicability of the proposed method was evaluated by analyzing certified reference seawater samples.  相似文献

MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry was used to study the reaction of p-tert-butylthiacalix[4]arene (1) and a number of its derivatives disubstituted at the lower rim (2—9) with monovalent metal salts (Li, Na, K, Cs, Cu, Ag) in the gas phase. It was shown that the thiacalixarenes under study bind the metal ions through the substitution of hydrogen atoms of the hydroxy groups. The reactions of silver and copper salts with the thiacalix[4]arenes were found to form the cluster ions, which represent the macrocycle dimers with several metal ions, while the formation of such clusters is impossible in the case of alkali metal salts. The peak intensities of the cluster ions increase in the weakly basic medium, reaching in some cases 100%.  相似文献

Three new ditopic receptors 3a-c based on thiacalix[4]arene of 1,3 alternate conformation possessing two different complexation sites have been designed and synthesized for both soft and hard metal ions. The imino nitrogens bind soft metal ion (Ag+/Pb2+/Cu2+) and the crown moiety binds K+ ion. The preliminary investigations show that 3a-c behave as ditopic receptors for Ag+/K+, Pb2+/K+, and Cu2+/K+ ions, respectively. In all the three receptors it was observed that the formation of 3a·Ag+/3b·Pb2+/3c·Cu2+ complex triggers the decomplexation of K+ ion from crown moiety and acts as a gateway, which regulates the binding of alkali metal to crown moiety. Thus, allosteric binding between metal ions ‘switch off’ the recognition ability of crown ether ring.  相似文献

A novel type of doubly bridged thiacalix[4]arenes in the 1,3-alternate conformation has been prepared by direct aminolysis reaction of easily accessible thiacalix[4]arene tetraacetates with alpha,omega-diamines. Despite the high excess of diamine, both sites of a 1,3-alternate conformer can be intramolecularly bridged to form the cagelike structures in high yields. Optimum results were obtained using 1,2-ethanediamine as bridging units. X-ray analysis of the novel cagelike molecules revealed a highly preorganized array of -C(O)-NH- bonds pointing to the interior of the cavity.  相似文献

The IR and Raman spectra and conformations of calix[4]arene, thiacalix[4]arene and their p-tert-butyl derivatives have been analysed within the framework of scaled quantum mechanics (SQM). It is shown that the introduction of four p-tert-Bu groups into the calixarene molecules influences the relative energies of their conformers and the enthalpy of the cooperative intramolecular H-bonding (DeltaH(intra)) almost negligibly. DeltaH(intra), evaluated from Iogansen's rule, amounts to approximately 26-28 kcal mol(-1) for the calixarenes and approximately 20-21 kcal mol(-1) for the thiacalixarenes, which essentially exceeds the enthalpies of non-cooperative H-bonds formed by related phenols. As a result of this strong bonding, bands of stretching, bending and torsion vibrations of an eight-membered cyclic system (OH...)4 arise, e.g., two delta(OH)4 bands are observed in the IR spectra of the most highly symmetric C4 cone conformations of calix[4]arene and thiacalix[4]arene. The "duplication" of the number of OH infrared bands is a good new indicator of cooperativity of intramolecular H-bonding of the calixarenes.  相似文献

To elucidate the peroxidase (POD)-like catalytic activity of anion-exchange resins modified with metal-tetrakis(sulfophenyl)porphine (M-TSPP(r)s), an oxidative reaction of seven mutagenic heterocyclic amines (HCAs) with hydrogen peroxide, which reaction is catalyzed by horse radish POD, was investigated in the presence of M-TSPP(r)s. Among six M-TSPP(r)s tested, Mn- and Fe-TSPP(r)s were found to have a relatively strong POD-like activity for HCAs, in particular for a typical HCA, 2-amino-3-methyl-imidazo[4,5-f]quinoline (IQ). The optimal condition for the POD-like activity was selected using Fe- and Mn-TSPP(r)s. For evaluation of an oxidation product of IQ produced in the presence of Fe-TSPP(r), the absorption, NMR and FAB-mass spectra thereof were compared with those of an oxidation product of IQ produced by horse radish POD or a chemical oxidizing agent, sodium hypochlorite. When Fe-TSPP(r) was present as a catalysts, IQ was converted into the dimmer (hydorazone type) which has no mutagenic activity in umu-test. It was revealed that Fe- and Mn-TSPP(r)s exhibit a POD-like catalytic activity in oxidative reaction of HCAs with hydrogen peroxide.  相似文献

The reactions of [Cp*MCl2]2(Cp*=eta5-C5Me5, M = Rh, Ir) with thiacalix[4]arene (TC4A(OH)4) and tetramercaptothiacalix[4]arene (TC4A(SH)4) gave the mononuclear complexes [(Cp*M){eta3-TC4A(OH)2(O)2}] and the dinuclear complexes [(Cp*M)2{eta3eta3-TC4A(S)4}] respectively, while the analogous reactions with dimercaptothiacalix[4]arene (TC4A(OH)2(SH)2) produced the tetranuclear complexes [(Cp*M)2(Cp*MCl2)2-{eta3eta3eta1eta1-TC4A(O)2(S)2}].  相似文献

Four thiacalix[4]biscrown ethers with 1,3-alternate conformation were examined for the potentiometric responses in poly(vinyl chloride) membrane electrodes. Their potentiometric selectivities toward potassium and cesium ions over other alkali, alkaline earth, and transition metal ions were measured by the fixed interference method (FIM). Among the ionophores, 1,3-alternate thiacalix[4]biscrown-6,6 showed a high selectivity for cesium over potassium ion and so was optimized as a Cs+-selective electrode. The electrode exhibited a linear response with a near Nernstian slope of 57.6 mV per decade in the concentration range of 1.0×10−6 to 3.2×10−2 M. It was suitable for use in aqueous solution in a wide range of pH 2.5-12.5 and had a fast response time of ca. 5 s. On the basis of 1,3-alternate thiacalix[4]biscrown-6,6, the electrode has a wide linear range and selectivity for cesium ion over potassium ion better than those previously reported with other ionophores.  相似文献
