In the present paper, two-dimensional coupled free vibrations of a fluid-filled rectangular container with a sagged bottom membrane are investigated. This system consists of two rigid walls and a membrane anchored along two rigid vertical walls. It is filled with incompressible and inviscid fluid. The membrane material is assumed to act like an inextensible material with no bending resistance. First, the nonlinear equilibrium equation is solved and the equilibrium shape of the membrane is obtained using an analytical formulation neglecting the membrane weight. The small vibrations about the equilibrium configuration are then investigated. Along the contact surface between the bottom membrane and the fluid, the compatibility requirement is applied for the fluid–structure interactions and the finite element method is used to calculate the natural frequencies and mode shapes of the fluid–membrane system. The vibration analysis of the coupled system is accomplished by using the displacement finite element for the membrane and the pressure fluid-finite element for the fluid domain. The variations of natural frequencies with the pressure head, the membrane length, the membrane weight and the distance between two rigid walls are examined. Nonlocal vibration of carbon nanotubes with attached buckyballs at tip   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Nonlocal longitudinal vibration of single-walled-carbon-nanotubes (SWCNTs) with attached buckyballs is considered. Attached buckyball at the tip of a SWCNT can significantly influence the resonance frequency of the vibrating system. Closed-form nonlocal transcendental equation for vibrating system with arbitrary mass ratio i.e. mass of buckyball to mass of SWCNT is derived. Nonlocal elasticity concept is employed to develop the frequency equations. Explicit analytical expressions of axial frequencies are proposed when mass of the attached buckyball is larger than the mass of SWCNT. Nonlocal longitudinal frequencies are validated with existing molecular dynamic simulation result. For arbitrary mass ratios, the frequency shifts in SWCNT due to (i) added buckyballs and (ii) nonlocal-effects are investigated. The present communication may be useful when designing tuneable resonator in NEMS applications.  相似文献

本文提出了一种悬索结构存在在滑移单元时的非线性计算方法,利用文献(1)提出的五节点曲线索单元有限元基本方程,建立了滑移单元非线性分析的计算理论、方法及公式,并进行了实例计算,结果表明,本文方法是行之有效的,可供悬索结构设计、施工时参考。  相似文献

Both the inplane and out-of-plane transverse vibrations of a viscoelastic cable subjected to an initial stress distributing uniform on the cross section are studied. The constitution of the cable material is assumed to be of the hereditary integral type. The partial differential-integral equations of motion are derived first. Then by applying Galerkin's method, the governing equations are reduced to a set of second-order nonlinear differential-integral equations which are solved by finite difference numerical integration procedures. Finally, the effects of the viscosity parameter and the elastic parameter on the transient amplitudes of the first mode are investigated by numerical simulation. In this paper, the free undamped motion of a cantilever von Koch beam is investigated. The reduction of the stiffness and mass matrices leads to simple analytical recursive relationships depending on the fractal dimension of the structure. Results are then extended to perform a detailed modal analysis, which suggests peculiar scaling laws for the natural frequencies and modal shapes of the structure. Energy considerations are also provided. Finally, the potentiality of the von Koch beam as a fractal antenna is examined in terms of resonant frequencies.  相似文献

Analysis of transverse vibration of the gear found in a high-speed gearbox considered as an annular plate reflecting gear geometry is the subject of this paper. How gear angular velocity affects the deformation of normal modes of transverse vibration of the system under consideration is analysed. Models considered were discretized by the finite elements method. Numerical computations have been performed in the ANSYS environment. The algorithm to identify the proper distorted mode shapes is presented. The Campbell diagram for the system under consideration is elaborated. The problems discussed here can be useful for engineers dealing with dynamics of rotating machine systems.  相似文献
