The lifetime of the 3d 9 4s 4p 4 P 3/2 state of Cu has been determined with optical double resonance by observation of radiofrequency transitions ΔF=0, Δm F =±1 between hfs-Zeeman levels of the stable odd isotopes. The result is τ(3d 9 4s 4p 4 P 3/2, Cu)=3.18(16)·10?7 sec.  相似文献

The hfs-splitting of the stable odd Ba-isotopes Ba135 and Ba137 (I=3/2) in the 6s6p 3 P 1-state was investigated by level crossing techniques. For both isotopes two crossings between Zeeman-sublevels withδm F=2 were detected by resonance scattering of the 7911 å-intercombination line using a Ba-atomic beam. From the experimental results ratios of zero field hfs-constants and theg J-value of the3 P 1-state were calculated including second order corrections. The results may be compared with double resonance measurements in zero magnetic field.  相似文献

The influence of an electric field on the Zeeman-splitting of the 4s 4p 3P1-level was investigated using the double resonance method. From the r.f.-resonance signals the tensor polarizability of the 4s 4p 3 P 1-level was deduced to be αten(3 P 1)=3.2(8) kHz/(kV/cm)2. This value is used for an estimate of the oscillator strength of the infrared transition between the multiplets 4s 4p 3 P and 4s3d 3 D. Taking into account measured oscillator strengths of electric dipole transitions from the3 P 1-level to other low lying levels one obtainsf(4s 4p 3 P→4s 3d 3 D)=0.09.  相似文献

The spins of several excited states of Er166 have been investigated byγγ-angular correlation measurements. The spin sequence 0+, 2+, 4+, 6+ for the ground state rotational band was presumed to be correct. Unique assignments were derived for the states of 1076 keV, 1377 keV and 1785 keV asI=5, 7 and 6 respectively. These results are in agreement with the spins proposed byGallagher jr. andSoloviev. The multipolarities of theγ-transitions of 408 keV, 709 keV, 811 keV and 831 keV were derived as 95%E1+(5±1)%M2, 99·6%E1+(0·4±0·5)%M2, 99·1%E2+(0·9±0·3)%M1, and 96·1%E2+(3·9±1)%M1 respectively. The unusual mixing ratios of the transitions of 811 keV and 831 keV can be understood as a consequence of theK-selection rule. Eachγ-transition from the 1785 keV state should be stronglyK-forbidden and one expects a half-life ofT 1/2≈3·10?9s. A measurement of the time spectrum of the coincidences between theβ-radiation and the high energyγ-lines gave however:T 1/2(1785 keV state)≦3·10?10s. The rotation of the angular correlation between the 184 keV line and theγ-group at 820 keV has been measured in an external magnetic field of 53000 gauss as:ω·τ(4+)=0·083±0·006. This value contains small corrections for an additional rotation of the angular correlation of the 831 keV–184 keV triple cascade in the 6+state and for a small attenuation by internal fields. WithT 1/2(4+state)=1·23·10?10s, andβ=7·08 one gets for theg-factorg R=+0·266±0·024 in good agreement with recent results for the 2+ state.  相似文献

Under the simultaneous action of external electric and magnetic fields the 5s 5p 3 P 1-level of the even Sr-isotopes splits into three non-equidistant Zeeman-sublevels. In an atomic beam experiment the spacings between the sublevels were investigated by the double resonance method at a magnetic field strength of ca. 22 Oe and at electric field strengths up to ca. 17 kV/cm. From the r.f.-resonance signals the tensor polarizability of the 5s 5p 3 P 1-level was deduced to be αten(3 P 1)=6.1(8) kHz/(kV/cm)2. This value may be used to get an estimate of the oscillator strength of the infrared transitions between the multiplets 5s 5p 3P and 5s 4d 3 D. Taking into account oscillator strengths of electric dipole transitions to other low lying levels one obtainsf(3 P3 D)≈0.09.  相似文献

The scattering of Au-resonance line λ=2427 Å on an atomic heam was observed in external magnetic field by level crossing technic. Summary We report the measurements of the3 D(3s4d)-3 P(3s3p)3 D(3s5d)-3 P(3s3p), and3 P(3p 2)-3 P(3s3p) transition frequency of MgI, the fine-structure separation and isotope shift between24Mg and26Mg. The measurements have been performed in a metastable atomic beam; a good agreement is found for data already existing in the literature. The accuracy of the measurements reported in this paper is mainly limited by the Doppler broadening of theI 2 transitions used as a reference and by the precision in the knowledge of the related wavelengths.  相似文献

The double-resonance method has been used to measure the hyperfinestructure of the 52 P 3/2-term in the potassium I-spectrum, using a sample enriched in theK 40 isotope. The interaction constants ofK 40 have been determined to beA 40=?(2.450±0.046) MHz andB 40=?(1.31±0.33) MHz. From these the electric quadrupolmoment has been calculated to be

The hyperfine structure of the 6s 6p 3 P 1 state of171Yb and173Yb has been investigated by the level crossing technique and by optical double resonance. The following results for the magnetic hfs splitting constantA and for the electric quadrupole interaction constantB have been obtained:A(171Yb)=3959.1(14)Mc/sec;A(173Yb)=?1094.7(6) Mc/sec;B(173Yb)=?826.9(9) Mc/sec. Level-crossing technique applying parallel electric and magnetic fields has been used to investigate the influence of an electric fieldE z on the hyperfine structure of the 4p 2 P 3/2-state. The Stark shift of the level-crossing nearH z =155 Oe and the modification of the magnetic zero-field level-crossing signal due to the electric fieldE z was observed. The tensor polarizabilities of the 4f 14 6s 6p 3 P 1 level were investigated for all stable Ytterbium isotopes by the method of optical double resonance. The tensor polarizabilities were deduced from the rf-resonance signals in parallel electric and magnetic fields. The value obtained for the even Yb isotopes is in good agreement with the results derived from the measurements on the odd isotopes. The mean value isα ten(3 P 1)0=5.99(34)kHz/(kV/cm)2. The tensor polarizability of the 4f 14 6s 6p 1 P 1 level of171Yb was measured by means of the level crossing technique with parallel electric and magnetic fields. The experimental result isα ten(1 P 1)=?14.3(1.4)kHz/(kV/cm)2. This is compared with the prediction of the LS coupling approximation using the experimental data of the3 P 1 level. Only poor agreement is obtained which is due to the configuration mixing in the1P1 level.  相似文献

Optical transition probabilities of the configurations 3p 5 4s–3p 5 5p of Argon I were determined in a wall-stabilized arc plasma and compared with the theoretical results for different types of spin-orbit-coupling. Mostly the differences in the results forLS-jl- and intermediate-coupling are small compared with the deviations of the experimental values. Therefore it may be presumed that in some cases not the assumption of an approximately valid coupling scheme is responsible for the errors of the theoretical transition probabilities, but the other quantum mechanical approximation processes.  相似文献
