We obtain exact solutions U(x, y, z, t) of the three-dimensional sine-Gordon equation in a form that Lamb previously proposed
for integrating the two-dimensional sine-Gordon equation. The three-dimensional solutions depend on arbitrary functions F(α)
and ϕ(α,β), whose arguments are some functions α(x, y, z, t) and β(x, y, z, t). The ansatzes must satisfy certain equations. These
are an algebraic system of equations in the case of one ansatz. In the case of two ansatzes, the system of algebraic equations
is supplemented by first-order ordinary differential equations. The resulting solutions U(x, y, z, t) have an important property,
namely, the superposition principle holds for the function tan(U/4). The suggested approach can be used to solve the generalized sine-Gordon equation, which, in contrast to the classical equation,
additionally involves first-order partial derivatives with respect to the variables x, y, z, and t, and also to integrate
the sinh-Gordon equation. This approach admits a natural generalization to the case of integration of the abovementioned types
of equations in a space with any number of dimensions.

For the double sine-Gordon equation, the exact explicit parametric representations of the bounded traveling solutions are given. The damped and driven sine-Gordon equation with Neumann boundary conditions is studied. It is shown that it has a one-dimensional
global attractor in a suitable functional space when the “damping” and the “diffusing” are not very small.

In this paper, taking the 2+1-dimensional sine-Gordon equation as an example, we present the concatenating method to construct the multisymplectic schemes. The-method is to discretizee independently the PDEs in different directions with symplectic schemes, so that the multisymplectic schemes can be constructed by concatenating those symplectic schemes. By this method, we can construct multisymplectic schemes, including some widely used schemes with an accuracy of any order. The numerical simulation on the collisions of solitons are also proposed to illustrate the efficiency of the multisymplectic schemes. 相似文献

The Zakharov–Shabat inverse spectral problem is constructed for a potential with support on the half-line and with a boundary value at the origin. This prescribed value is shown to produce a Jost solution with an essential singularity at large values of the spectral parameter; this requires particular attention when solving the related Hilbert boundary value problem. The method is then used to illustrate the sine-Gordon equation (in the light cone) and is discussed using a singular limit of the stimulated Raman scattering equations. 相似文献

A three-time level finite-difference scheme based on a fourth order in time and second order in space approximation has been
proposed for the numerical solution of the nonlinear two-dimensional sine-Gordon equation. The method, which is analysed for
local truncation error and stability, leads to the solution of a nonlinear system. To avoid solving it, a predictor–corrector
scheme using as predictor a second-order explicit scheme is proposed. The procedure of the corrector has been modified by
considering as known the already evaluated corrected values instead of the predictor ones. This modified scheme has been tested
on the line and circular ring soliton and the numerical experiments have proved that there is an improvement in the accuracy
over the standard predictor–corrector implementation.

A new procedure called ‘source generation’ is applied to the pfaffianized KP equation. As a result, the pfaffianized-KP equation with self-consistent sources (ESCS) is obtained. This coupled system cannot only be reduced to the pfaffianized KP equation, but also reduced to the KP equation with self-consistent sources (KPESCS). So the pfaffianized-KP ESCS can be viewed as a pfaffian version of the KPESCS, which indicates the commutativity of the ‘source generation’ procedure and pfaffianization. 相似文献

The nonlinear inverse problem for a wave equation is investigated in a three-dimensional bounded domain subject to the Dirichlet boundary condition. Given a family of solutions to the equation defined on a closed surface within the original domain, it is required to reconstruct the coefficient determining the velocity of sound in the medium. The solutions used for this purpose correspond to the acoustic medium perturbations localized in the neighborhood of a certain closed surface. The inverse problem is reduced to a linear integral equation of the first kind, and the uniqueness of the solution to this equation is established. Numerical results are presented. 相似文献

Using the Unified Transform, also known as the Fokas method, the solution of the sine-Gordon equation in the quarter plane can be expressed in terms of the solution of a matrix Riemann–Hilbert problem whose definition involves four spectral functions . The functions and are defined via a nonlinear Fourier transform of the initial data, whereas and are defined via a nonlinear Fourier transform of the boundary values. In this paper, we provide an extensive study of these nonlinear Fourier transforms and the associated eigenfunctions under weak regularity and decay assumptions on the initial and boundary values. The results can be used to determine the long-time asymptotics of the sine-Gordon quarter-plane solution via nonlinear steepest descent techniques. 相似文献

We consider the inverse source problem for a time fractional diffusion equation. The unknown source term is independent of the time variable, and the problem is considered in two dimensions. A biorthogonal system of functions consisting of two Riesz bases of the space L2[(0,1) × (0,1)], obtained from eigenfunctions and associated functions of the spectral problem and its adjoint problem, is used to represent the solution of the inverse problem. Using the properties of the biorthogonal system of functions, we show the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the inverse problem and its continuous dependence on the data. We consider the scattering of an electromagnetic time‐harmonic plane wave by an infinite cylinder having a mixed open crack (or arc) in R2 as the cross section. The crack is made up of two parts, and one of the two parts is (possibly) coated by a material with surface impedance λ. We transform the scattering problem into a system of boundary integral equations by adopting a potential approach, and establish the existence and uniqueness of a weak solution to the system by the Fredholm theory.
