Cauchy inequality (CI) relates scalar products of two vectors and their norms. I point out other similar inequalities (SI). Starting with CI Schroedinger (1930) derived his uncertainty relation (UR). By using SI other various UR can be obtained. It is shown that they follow from the Schroedinger UR. Two generalizations of CI are obtained for mixed states described by density matrices. Using them two generalizations of UR for mixed states are derived. Both differ from the UR generalization known in the literature. The discussion of these generalizations is given.  相似文献

We investigate the infinite volume limit of quantized photon fields in multimode coherent states. We show that for states containing a continuum of coherent modes, it is mathematically and physically natural to consider their phases to be random and identically distributed. The infinite volume states give rise to Hilbert space representations of the canonical commutation relations which we construct concretely. In the case of random phases, the representations are random as well and can be expressed with the help of Itô stochastic integrals. We analyze the dynamics of the infinite state alone and the open system dynamics of small systems coupled to it. We show that under the free field dynamics, initial phase distributions are driven to the uniform distribution. We demonstrate that coherences in small quantum systems, interacting with the infinite coherent state, exhibit Gaussian time decay. The decoherence is qualitatively faster than the one caused by infinite thermal states, which is known to be exponentially rapid only. This emphasizes the classical character of coherent states.  相似文献

In this paper, by using the parity operator as well as the nonlinear displacement-type operator, we define new operators which by the action of them on the vacuum state of the radiation field, superposition of two nonlinear coherent states and two-mode entangled nonlinear coherent states are generated. Bohr and Heisenberg suggested that the thermodynamical quantities of temperature and energy are complementary in the same way as position and momentum in quantum mechanics. Roughly speaking their idea was that a definite temperature can be attributed to a system only if it is submerged in a heat bath, in which case energy fluctuations are unavoidable. On the other hand, a definite energy can be assigned only to systems in thermal isolation, thus excluding the simultaneous determination of its temperature. Rosenfeld extended this analogy with quantum mechanics and obtained a quantitative uncertainty relation in the form U (1/T) k, where k is Boltzmann's constant. The two extreme cases of this relation would then characterize this complementarity between isolation (U definite) and contact with a heat bath (T definite). Other formulations of the thermodynamical uncertainty relations were proposed by Mandelbrot (1956, 1989), Lindhard (1986), and Lavenda (1987, 1991). This work, however, has not led to a consensus in the literature. It is shown here that the uncertainty relation for temperature and energy in the version of Mandelbrot is indeed exactly analogous to modern formulations of the quantum mechanical uncertainty relations. However, his relation holds only for the canonical distribution, describing a system in contact with a heat bath. There is, therefore, no complementarily between this situation and a thermally isolated system.  相似文献

p-Mechanics is a consistent physical theory which describes both quantum and classical mechanics simultaneously (V. V. Kisil, p-Mechanics as a physical theory. An Introduction, E-print:arXiv:quant-ph/0212101, 2002; International Journal of Theoretical Physics 41(1), 63–77, 2002). We continue the development of p-mechanics by introducing the concept of states. The set of coherent states we introduce allows us to evaluate classical observables at any point of phase space and simultaneously to evaluate quantum probability amplitudes. The example of the forced harmonic oscillator is used to demonstrate these concepts.  相似文献

A class of states of the electromagnetic field involving superpositions of all the excited states above a specified low energy eigenstate of the electromagnetic field is introduced. These states and the photon-added coherent states are shown to be the limiting cases of a generalized photon-added coherent state. This new class of states is nonclassical, non-Gaussian and has equal uncertainties in the field quadratures. For suitable choices of parameters, these uncertainties are very close to those of the coherent states. Nevertheless, these states exhibit sub-Poissonian photon number distribution, which is a nonclassical feature. Under suitable approximations, these states become the generalized Bernoulli states of the field. Nonclassicality of these states is quantified using their entanglement potential.  相似文献

Generalized trio coherent states are made by superposing a number of trio coherent states. They possess inherent nonclassical properties such as sub-Poissonian distribution and violation of Cauchy-Schwarz inequalities. Their phase distribution in the framework of the Pegg and Barnett theory is discussed. We study the interaction of the radiation field prepared in a generalized trio coherent state with an atom in a superposition coherent state in the rotating wave approximation. We investigate the time dependence of the sub-Poissonian distribution and the violation of Cauchy-Schwarz inequalities for such a system. General conclusions reached are illustrated by numerical results.  相似文献

Quantum mechanical uncertainty relations are fundamental consequences of the incompatible nature of noncommuting observables. In terms of the coherence measure based on the Wigner-Yanase skew information, we establish several uncertainty relations for coherence with respect to von Neumann measurements, mutually unbiased bases(MUBs), and general symmetric informationally complete positive operator valued measurements(SIC-POVMs),respectively. Since coherence is intimately connected with quantum uncertainties, the obtained uncertainty relations are of intrinsically quantum nature, in contrast to the conventional uncertainty relations expressed in terms of variance,which are of hybrid nature(mixing both classical and quantum uncertainties). From a dual viewpoint, we also derive some uncertainty relations for coherence of quantum states with respect to a fixed measurement. In particular, it is shown that if the density operators representing the quantum states do not commute, then there is no measurement(reference basis) such that the coherence of these states can be simultaneously small.  相似文献

Families of Perelomov coherent states are defined axiomatically in the context of unitary representations of Hopf algebras. A global geometric picture involving locally trivial noncommutative fibre bundles is involved in the construction. If, in addition, the Hopf algebra has a left Haar integral, then a formula for noncommutative resolution of identity in terms of the family of coherent states holds. The notion of solvable Gelfand pairs (K,N) (K is a compact Lie group acting on N, a solvable connected and simply connected Lie group) is due to Benson, Jenkins and Ratcliff. Thanks to the localization lemma, they came back to the case where K is a connected subgroup of U(n) acting on N = Hn, the 2n + 1-dimensional Heisenberg group. They gave a geometrical condition for such a pair: (K,Hn) is a Gelfand pair if and only if the intersection of each coadjoint orbit of G = K Hn with (Lie K) contains at most one integral K-orbit. Using coherent states, we define here a generating function of multiplicity m for each in K^. m is holomorphic on D(0,1), m (r) = n = 0 an rn, an and limr 1 m (r) = mtp (, W) (W is the generic representation of Hn naturally extended to K). (K,Hn) is thus a Gelfand pair if and only if limr 1 m 1. We prove here that if m is a non homogeneous function, then there is at least two K-orbits in the intersection of the generic coadjoint orbit associated to with (Lie K).  相似文献

The canonical coherent states are infinite series in powers of a complex number z. We present classes of coherent states by replacing this complex number z by other choices, namely, iterates of a complex function, higher functions, and elementary functions. Further, we show that some of these classes do not furnish generalized oscillator algebras in the natural way. It is well known that the Cramér–Rao inequality places a lower bound for quantum Fisher information in terms of the variance of any quantum measurement. We establish an upper bound for quantum Fisher information of a parameterized family of density operators in terms of the variance of the generator.
