The X-ray diffraction, magnetization and electrical conductivity measurements for Gd0.9A0.1CoO3−δ (A=Ba, Sr) have been made. The complicated magnetic behavior, including the paramagnetic-ferromagnetic-antiferromagnetic and paramagnetic-ferromagnetic transitions, was found for Ba- and Sr-doped samples. The gradual insulator-metal transitions were observed in a wide temperature range T=600−800 K. The complex magnetic and transport data could be explained on the basis of the structural phase separation.  相似文献

We have investigated the magnetic and electrical transport properties of Si1−xMnx single crystals grown by the vertical Bridgman method. The alloys with Mn concentrations up to x=0.64 have weak ferromagnetic ordering around TC∼30 K. However, Si0.25Mn0.75 alloys show weak ferromagnetic ordering at 70 K and antiferromagnetic ordering at 104 K, which is confirmed by magnetization and electrical transport studies.  相似文献

The magnetic behavior of the diluted magnetic semiconductor Cd0.42Mn0.58In2S4 has been study by dc magnetization and ac susceptibility experiments. Zero field cooled and field cooled measurements reveal irreversibility below Tirr=2.60±0.15 K. Ac susceptibility data, performed as a function of the temperature and the frequency, confirm the spin-glass like behavior of the material with Tf=2.75±0.15 K. High temperature susceptibility data follow a typical Curie-Weiss law with θ=−74±1 K which suggests predominant antiferromagnetic interactions. The randomness of the magnetic ions, necessary to explain the magnetic behavior of the material, has been determined by X-ray powder diffraction experiments.  相似文献

We have prepared nearly monodisperse Fe3O4 of ∼50 nm by a chemical route and investigated the electrical and magnetic transports of the composite granular system. A Verwey transition is observed in the vicinity of 113 K. Above and below the Verwey transition, the electrical transport is dominated by electron hopping behavior showing a good linear relation between resistance and T−1/2. The magnetoresistance (MR) increases with the applied field and does not follow the magnetization to reach the saturation at 10 KOe field. This indicates that the MR is mainly arising from the spin-dependent scattering of electrons through the grain boundaries. The temperature dependence of MR shows it has the highest MR value near the Verwey transition.  相似文献

This paper is focusing on the synthesis of Zn1−xFexS nano-particles with x = 0, 0.1 and 0.2 by chemical co-precipitation method, the prepared of which are characterized by XRD, EDS, TEM, PL, magnetization versus field behavior and M-T curve. In the XRD patterns, Zn1−xFexS nano-particles are shown of cubic zinc blende structure, and the broadening diffraction peaks consistent with the small-size characteristic of nano-materials. The diameter of nano-particles is between 3.3 and 5.5 nm according to the HR-TEM images. The EDS data confirm the existence of Fe ions in Fe-doped ZnS nanoparticles. There we found that Fe-doping did not import new energy bands or defect states, but reduced the intensity of PL peaks. The magnetization versus field behaviors were illustrated by the M-H curves at both 5 K and 300 K, respectively, where no remanence or coercive force was observed. This phenomenon indicates that the Zn1−xFexS (x = 0.1) nano-particles are superparamagnetic. The zero-field-cooled (ZFC) and field-cooled (FC) magnetization curves further reveal that the blocking temperature (TB) of the superparamagnetic behavior might be below 5 K.  相似文献

Electrical and magnetic properties of TmCoIn5 and YbCoIn5 single crystals were investigated by means of electrical resistivity and magnetization measurements in the temperature range from 300 to 0.5 K under the magnetic field up to 5 T. TmCoIn5 is an antiferromagnetic metal with a Néel temperature TN=2.6 K. YbCoIn5 shows non-magnetic behavior, reflecting of divalent Yb ion.  相似文献

We synthesized the Mn-doped Mg(In2−xMnx)O4 oxides with 0.03?x?0.55 using a solid-state reaction method. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the samples were in a good agreement with that of a distorted orthorhombic spinel phase. Their lattice parameters and unit-cell volumes decrease with x due to the substitution of the smaller Mn3+ ions to the larger In3+ ions. The undoped MgIn2O4 oxide presents diamagnetic signals for 5 K?T?300 K. The M(H) at T=300 K reveals a fairly negative-sloped linear relationship. Neither magnetic hysteresis nor saturation behavior was observed in this parent sample. For the Mn-doped samples, however, positive magnetization were observed between 5 and 300 K even if the x value is as low as 0.03. The mass susceptibility enhances with Mn content and it reaches the highest value of 1.4×10−3 emu/g Oe (at T=300 K) at x=0.45. Furthermore, the Mn-doped oxides with x=0.06 and 0.2, respectively, exhibit nonlinear magnetization curves and small hysteretic loops in low magnetic fields. Susceptibilities of the Mn-doped samples are much higher than those of MnO2, Mn2O3 oxides, and Mn metals. These results show that the oxides have potential to be magnetic semiconductors.  相似文献

A series of Fe3O4 particles with different size have been obtained by mechanical ball milling from t=0-450 h. Crystal structure and microstructure of the samples are analyzed by XRD and SEM. An emphasis has been placed on magnetic and transport properties. The experimental results indicate that the sample t=350 exhibits an enhancement of magnetoresistance (MR) comparing with initial powder compress sample (t=0). The low-field magnetoresistance reaches MR=−6.04% at Verwey temperature 120 K and MR=−2.54% at 290 K. Thermal behavior TGA analysis and investigation of magnetic properties have revealed that there is an oxide layer on surface of Fe3O4 particles. It is considered that the enhanced magnetoresistance can be taken into account in terms of spin-dependent tunneling effect between Fe3O4 particles.Temperature dependence of magnetization and resistivity are measured in order to study electrical and magnetic behavior near Verwey transition. In addition, we also discuss ball milling time dependence of coercivity Hc and specific magnetization Ms of these samples.  相似文献

Physical properties of NdAu2Ge2, crystallising with the tetragonal ThCr2Si2-type crystal structure, were investigated by means of magnetic, calorimetric and electrical transport measurements as well as by neutron diffraction. The compound exhibits antiferromagnetic ordering below TN=4.5 K with a collinear magnetic structure of the AFI-type. The neodymium magnetic moments are parallel to the c-axis and amount to 1.04(4) μB at 1.5 K. The observed magnetic behaviour is strongly influenced by crystalline electric field effect.  相似文献

Structural, magnetic, heat capacity, electrical and thermal transport properties are reported on polycrystalline Ba8Ni6Ge40. Ba8Ni6Ge40 crystallizes in a cubic type I clathrate structure with unit cell a=10.5179 (4) Å. It is diamagnetic with susceptibility χdia=−1.71×10-6 emu/g Oe. An Einstein temperature 75 K and a Debye temperature 307 K are estimated from heat capacity data. It exhibits n-type conducting behavior below 300 K. It shows high Seebeck coefficients (−111×10-6 V/K), low thermal conductivity (2.25 W/K m), and low electrical resistivity (8.8 mΩ cm) at 300 K.  相似文献

We carefully studied the nonsuperconducting sample of the magneto-superconducting RuSr2(Eu1−xCex)Cu2O10−δ series with composition RuSr2EuCeCu2O10−δ. This compound seems to exhibit a complex magnetic state as revealed by host of techniques like resistivity, thermopower, magnetic susceptibility, and MR measurements. The studied compound exhibited ferromagnetic like M(H) loops at 5, 20, and 50 K, and semiconductor like electrical conduction down to 5 K, with −MR7 T of up to 4% at low temperatures. The −MR7 T decreases fast above 150 K and monotonically becomes close to zero above say 230 K. Below, 150 K −MR7 T decreases to around 3% monotonically down to 75 K, with further increase to 4% at around 30 K and lastly having a slight decrease below this temperature. The thermopower S(T) behavior closely followed the −MR7 T steps in terms of d(S/T)/dT slopes. Further, both MR7 T steps and d(S/T)/dT slopes are found in close vicinity to various magnetic ordering temperatures (Tmag) of this compound.  相似文献

Magnetic properties of amorphous Ge1−xMnx thin films were investigated. The thin films were grown at 373 K on (100) Si wafers by using a thermal evaporator. Growth rate was ∼35 nm/min and average film thickness was around 500 nm. The electrical resistivities of Ge1−xMnx thin films are 5.0×10−4∼100 Ω cm at room temperature and decrease with increasing Mn concentration. Low temperature magnetization characteristics and magnetic hysteresis loops measured at various temperatures show that the amorphous Ge1−xMnx thin films are ferromagnetic but the ferromagnetic magnetizations are changing gradually into paramagnetic as increasing temperature. Curie temperature and saturation magnetization vary with Mn concentration. Curie temperature of the deposited films is 80-160 K, and saturation magnetization is 35-100 emu/cc at 5 K. Hall effect measurement at room temperature shows the amorphous Ge1−xMnx thin films have p-type carrier and hole densities are in the range from 7×1017 to 2×1022 cm−3.  相似文献

Multiple stacked self-assembled (In1−xMnx)As quantum-dot (QD) arrays were grown on GaAs (100) substrates by using molecular-beam epitaxy with a goal of producing (In1−xMnx)As QDs with a semiconductor phase and a high ferromagnetic transition temperature (Tc). Atomic force microscopy, magnetic force microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, and energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence measurements showed that crystalline multiple stacked (In0.84Mn0.16)As with symmetric single-domain particle were formed on GaAs substrates. Near-field scanning optical spectroscopy spectra at 10 K for the (In0.84Mn0.16)As multiple stacked QDs showed that the band-edge exciton transitions were observed. The magnetization curve as a function of the magnetic field at 5 and 300 K indicated that the multiple stacked (In0.84Mn0.16)As QDs were ferromagnetic, and the magnetization curve as a function of the temperature showed that the Tc was as high as 400 K. These results provide important information on the optical and magnetic properties for enhancing the Tc of (In1−xMnx)As-based nanostructures.  相似文献

Magnetization and susceptibility were investigated as a function of temperature and magnetic field in polycrystalline Mn[Cr0.5Ga1.5]S4 spinel. The dc susceptibility measurements at 919 Oe showed a disordered ferrimagnetic behaviour with a Curie-Weiss temperature θCW=−55 K and an effective magnetic moment of 5.96 μB close to the spin-only value of 6.52 μB for Cr3+ and Mn2+ ions in the 3d3 and 3d5 configurations, respectively. The magnetization measured at 100 Oe revealed the multiple magnetic transitions with a sharp maximum at the Néel temperature TN=3.9 K, a minimum at the Yafet-Kittel temperature TYK=5 K, a broad maximum at the freezing temperature Tf=7.9 K, and an inflection point at the Curie temperature TC=48 K indicating a transition to paramagnetic phase. A large splitting between the zero-field-cooled (ZFC) and field-cooled (FC) magnetizations at a temperature smaller than TC suggests the presence of spin-glass-like behaviour. This behaviour is considered in a framework of competing interactions between the antiferromagnetic ordering of the A(Mn) sublattice and the ferromagnetic ordering of the B(Cr) sublattice.  相似文献

Polycrystalline Mn2VGa samples were synthesized using an arc furnace. X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern was analyzed using General Structural Analysis System (GSAS) package and the refined lattice parameter was found to be 5.905 Å. We found magnetic ordering in the system below 783 K and the spontaneous magnetization was observed to be following the Bloch T3/2 law below 80 K. The magnetic moment per formula unit at 5 K was observed to be 1.88 μB. The temperature variation of the electrical resistance was found to follow the relation Rn=R0n+aTα (α=1.616) and (Rn—normalized electrical resistance) in the temperature range of 25–300 K and we observed almost a temperature independent variation of the electrical resistance below 25 K indicating the absence of spin-flip scattering.  相似文献

We report on large negative magnetoresistance observed in ferromagnetic thiospinel compound CuCrZrS4. The electrical resistivity increased with decreasing temperature according to the exp(T0/T)1/2, an expression derived from variable range hopping with strong electron-electron interaction. The resistivity under a magnetic field was expressed by the same form with the characteristic temperature T0 decreasing with increasing magnetic field. Magnetoresistance ratio ρ(T,0)/ρ(T,H) is 1.5 for H=90 kOe at 100 K and increases divergently with decreasing temperature reaching 80 at 16 K. Results of magnetization measurements are also presented. A possible mechanism of the large magnetoresistance is discussed.  相似文献

The magnetization of native horse spleen ferritin protein is measured in pulsed magnetic fields to 55 T at T=1.52 K. The magnetization rises smoothly with negative curvature due to uncompensated Fe3+ spins and with a large high field slope due to the underlying antiferromagnetic ferritin core. Even at highest fields the magnetic moment is only ∼4% of the saturation moment of the full complement of Fe3+ in the ferritin molecule. The AC magnetic susceptibility, χAC(T,f), responding to the uncompensated spins, reaches a maximum near the superparamagnetic blocking temperature with the temperature of the maximum, TM, varying with excitation frequency, TM−1 α log f for 10?f?104 Hz.  相似文献

We have studied the effect of Fe substitution on magnetic and magnetocaloric properties in La0.7Sr0.3Mn1−xFexO3 (x=0.05, 0.07, 0.10, 0.15, and 0.20) over a wide temperature range (T=10-400 K). It is shown that substitution by Fe gradually decreases the ferromagnetic Curie temperature (TC) and saturation magnetization up to x=0.15 but a dramatic change occurs for x=0.2. The x=0.2 sample can be considered as a phase separated compound in which both short-range ordered ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic phases coexist. The magnetic entropy change (−ΔSm) was estimated from isothermal magnetization curves and it decreases with increase of Fe content from 4.4 J kg−1 K−1 at 343 K (x=0.05) to 1.3 J kg−1 K−1 at 105 K (x=0.2), under ΔH=5 T. The La0.7Sr0.3Mn0.93Fe0.07O3 sample shows negligible hysteresis loss, operating temperature range over 60 K around room temperature with refrigerant capacity of 225 J kg−1, and magnetic entropy of 4 J kg−1 K−1 which will be an interesting compound for application in room temperature refrigeration.  相似文献

Synthesis and characterization of the structural and magnetic properties of a 2-line (2L) ferrihydrite (FHYD) sample based on the composition Fe:Al:Cu=100:25:5 are reported. Typical of 2L-FHYDs, this sample also yields the two broad lines in X-ray diffraction and triplet in the 1400-1700 cm−1 range in IR spectroscopy. However, in transmission electron microscopy, nanoflakes of about 5-20 nm size but without any hint of diffraction fringes characteristic of crystalline order were observed. Temperature dependence (2-380 K) of the magnetization M vs. applied field H (up to ±65 kOe) of this non-crystalline ferrihydrite is used to establish a blocking temperature TB?20 K, Néel temperature TN?365 K and a spin-glass ordering of the surface Fe3+ spins at TS?6 K. These magnitudes of TB and TS are considerably smaller than those of a 5 nm undoped 2L crystalline ferrihydrite with TB=70 K and TS=30 K. The fit of the M vs. H data for several T>TB to a modified Langevin function is shown to collapse onto a universal curve yielding a temperature-independent average magnetic moment μP=70(5)μB per nanoflake. Analysis of these parameters obtained from the fits of M vs. H data above TB is used to show that the effective average volume of the nanoflakes is about 1/3 that of spherical 5 nm crystalline 2L-FHYD. It is argued that these lower magnitudes of μP, TB, and TS for the nanoflakes result from their smaller effective volume determined here.  相似文献

Single-phase polycrystalline samples of La0.7Sr0.3Mn1-xCrxO3 with nominal composition of x=0.00, 0.20, 0.40 and 0.50 were prepared by a conventional solid-state reaction method in air. Investigations of magnetization were carried out in the temperature range 5-400 K and magnetic field range 0-8 T. It was found that the Curie temperature TC decreases with increasing x and the maximum magnetic entropy change (−ΔSM) for x=0.20 is ∼1.203 and ∼2.653 J/kg K, respectively for 2 and 6 T magnetic field near the temperature of 280 K.  相似文献
