A series of metal ion complexes was prepared in solid state from Cu(II), Hg(II) and UO2(II) ions with 3-oxo-3-(2-(2-oxoindolin-3-ylidene)hydrazineyl)-N-phenylpropanamide (H3L) ligand through solvent free synthesis methodology. The chemical formulae of the new compounds were estimated according to variable spectral and analytical investigations. The ligand exhibited a neutral or mononegative tetradentate mode of coordination towards the central ions inside the octahedral arrangement that proposed for the three complexes. The DFT/B3LYP method was applied under different basis sets (6-31G*or SDD) to optimize the structures of new compounds except the UO2(II) complex. The computational data were investigated to verify the binding mode that suggested spectrally. Moreover, studies in solution regarding Cu(II) ion via cyclic voltammetry were performed in absence or presence of H3L, to realize the significant effect of complex formation on the electrochemical manners of copper. The shifts in the potential peaks accompanied by the changes in the values of parameters correspond to kinetic and thermodynamic. Also, the solvation and kinetic characteristics for the cathodic and anodic potential of Cu(II) ion in absence or presence of H3L at different scan rates, were estimated. Finally, the ligand and copper ion exhibited high affinity towards complexation in solution. Furthermore, the activity of the new compounds towards inhibiting microbes was studied against Staphylococcus aureus (G+) and Escherichia coli (G-) bacteria as well as Candida albicans (fungus) by determining the inhibition zone diameter. Also, both the antioxidant and cytotoxic activity of the isolated compounds were evaluated. Commonly, a remarkable antimicrobial and anticancer activity was appeared with UO2(II) complex and the ligand. While, the antioxidant activity of all compounds appeared lower.  相似文献

Benzyl(4-methoxyphenyl)dithiophosphinic acid (HL) was obtained as solid and was treated with the NiCl26H2O, CoCl26H2O, ZnCl2, and CdCl2 to prepare its Ni(II), Co(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II) complexes. The nickel complex was further treated with pyridine which led to the formation of octahedral dipyridine derivative. HL was obtained through the addition reaction of the perthiophosphonic acid anhydride Lawesson reagent, (LR), [2,4-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)-1,3,2,4-dithiadiphosphetane-2,4-disulfide], with the corresponding Grignard compound (benzylmagnesium bromide) in diethyl ether medium.

The complexes were all of the stoichiometry of [M(L)2]x, with x = 1 for M = Ni2+ and x = 2 for M = Co2+, Cd2+ and Zn2+. The coordination geometry was square planar in the nickel(II) complex and tetrahedral in the others. Similar to many other nickel(II) complexes, the Ni(L)2 reacts reversibly with pyridine to yield the octahedral complex ({(Py)2Ni(L)2}).

The compounds were characterized by elemental analysis; MS, FTIR, and Raman spectroscopies. The magnetic susceptibilities of the complexes were measured to confirm the hybridization patterns and the geometries. Single-crystal X-ray analyses of Ni(L)2 and [Co(L)2]2 complexes were also carried out to prove the molecular topologies.  相似文献

Abstract

A new series of air stable transition metal(II) complexes [M(II)(L)(Phen)], [M(II)(L)(Pip)] (M?=?Ni, Cu, and Zn) (H2L = 2,2′-methylenebis(4-nitrophenol)) (Phen =1,10-phenanthroline) (Pip?=?Piperazine) has been synthesized by incorporating the metal ion with bisphenol and 1,10-phenanthroline/piperazine ligands. The prepared metal complexes were characterized by FT-IR, UV–vis, 1H NMR, EPR, and mass spectrometry. The metal(II) complexes were potent catalysts for Suzuki–Miyaura and Kumada–Corriu coupling of various aryl halides under optimized conditions.  相似文献

Microwave chemistry is a green chemical method that improves reaction conditions and product yields while reducing solvent amounts and reaction times. The main aim of this article is to synthesize the tetradentate N2O2 ligand [HO(Ar)CH=N–(CH2)2–N=CH(Ar)OH] and manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), and zinc(II) complexes of the type ML by classical and microwave techniques. The resulting Schiff base and its complexes are characterized by 1H NMR, infrared, elemental analysis, and electronic spectral data. The ligand and its Co(II) and Mn(II) complexes were further identified by X-ray diffraction and mass spectra to confirm the structure. The results suggest that the metal is bonded to the ligand through the phenolic oxygen and the imino nitrogen.  相似文献

Neutral complexes of Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), and Zn(II) have been synthesized from the oxamide-based ligand derived from leucine and diethyloxalate. The structural features have been deduced from their microanalytical, IR, UV/Vis, mass, 1H and 13C NMR spectral data. The Co(II) and Ni(II) chelates have octahedral geometries and the Cu(II) chelate is a square-pyramidal geometry. The non-electrolytic and monomeric nature of the complexes is shown by their magnetic susceptibility and low conductance data. The biological activities of the ligand and its metal chelates against gram-positive and negative bacteria and fungi are also reported. All the compounds are antimicrobially active and show higher activity than the free ligand.  相似文献

A new series of copper(II) mononuclear and copper(II)–metal(II) binuclear complexes [(H2L)Cu] ? H2O, [CuLM] ? nH2O, and [Cu(H2L)M(OAc)2] ? nH2O, n = 1–2, M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), or Zn(II), and L is the anion of dipyridylglyoxal bis(2-hydroxybenzoyl hydrazone), H4L, were synthesized and characterized. Elemental analyses, molar conductivities, and FT-IR spectra support the formulation of these complexes. IR data suggest that H4L is dibasic tetradentate in [(H2L)Cu] ? H2O and [Cu(H2L)M(OAc)2] ? nH2O but tetrabasic hexadentate in [CuLM] ? nH2O (n = 1–2). Thermal studies indicate that waters are of crystallization and the complexes are thermally stable to 347–402°C depending upon the nature of the complex. Magnetic moment values indicate magnetic exchange interaction between Cu(II) and M(II) centers in binuclear complexes. The electronic spectral data show that d–d transitions of CuN2O2 in the mononuclear complex are blue shifted in binuclear complexes in the sequences: Cu–Cu > Cu–Ni > Cu–Co > Cu–Zn, suggesting that the binuclear complexes [CuLM] ? nH2O are more planar than the mononuclear complex. The structures of complexes were optimized through molecular mechanics applying MM +force field coupled with molecular dynamics simulation. [(H2L)Cu] ? nH2O, [CuLM] ? nH2O, and the free ligand were screened for antimicrobial activities on some Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial species. The free ligand is inactive against all studied bacteria. The screening data showed that [CuLCu] ? H2O > [(H2L)Cu] ? H2O > [CuLZn] ? H2O > [CuLNi] ? 2H2O ≈ [CuLCo] ? H2O in order of biological activity. The data are discussed in terms of their compositions and structures.  相似文献

Solid compounds of Cd(II), Hg(II) and Pb(II) with the sodium salt of morin-5′-sulfonic acid (NaMSA) were obtained. The molecular formula of the complexes are: Cd(C15H8O10SNa)2?·?6H2O, CdOH(C15H8O10SNa)?·?4H2O, Hg(C15H8O10S)?·?4H2O and Pb(C15H8O10S)?·?3H2O. Some of their physicochemical properties such as UV-Vis, infrared, 13C NMR and mass spectra, thermogravimetric analysis, and solubility were studied. On the basis of spectroscopic data NaMSA was bound to Cd2+ via 4C=O and 3C?–?oxygen and the Hg2+ and Pb2+ ions by 5C–OH, 4C=O and 3C–OH.  相似文献

Summary -Ketooxime [RC(O)C(NOH)R] (R = Me or Ph) ligands (HL) react with [Ru(PPh3)3Cl2] in refluxing EtOH to yield [Ru(PPh3)2(L)2] complexes. For R = Me, one isomer was obtained, while two isomers were isolated when R = Ph, due to a bulk effect. The complexes are diamagnetic and absorb intensely in the vis. region due to MLCT transitions. In MeCN and CH2Cl2 solution, RuII-RuIII oxidation occurs in the 0.69–0.92 V versus s.c.e. range. The oxidation potential depends on both the electronic nature of R and the stereochemistry of the complexes.  相似文献

A synthetic precursor cis-[RuIICl2(dmso)4] is complexed separately with 3-(4-benzyloxyphenyl)-1-(2-hydroxylphenyl)-prop-2-en-1-one (L1H) and 2-(4-benzyloxyphenyl)-3hydroxy-chromen-4-one (L2H). The resulting complexes are assigned the composition fac-[RuCl(S-dmso)3(L1)] 1 and fac-[RuCl(S-dmso)3(L2)] 2 using elemental analyses, FAB mass data and spectroscopic (IR, 1H NMR, UV–Vis, emission) spectral properties. The X-ray diffraction analysis shows that complexes self-associate through non-covalent interactions and provide 1D and 2D supramolecular structures. These complexes are assayed for their cytotoxicity studies on Dalton Lymphoma cell lines.  相似文献

Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes of the type Na4[ML(H2O)2] of the ligand, 3,3′-bis[N,N-di(carboxymethyl)-aminomethyl]-o-cresol sulphonphthalein (Xylenol Orange, Na4H2L), have been synthesized and characterized by different physico-chemical (elemental analyses, solubility, electrolytic conductances, magnetic susceptibility measurements) and spectral (u.v.-vis, i.r., e.s.r., and powder X-ray diffraction) techniques for their structure determination. The data suggest 1?:?1 (M?:?L) compositions and octahedral geometries around M(II) except for Cu(II). Antifungal activity of the complexes measured against ten fungi show significant activity against Alternaria brassicicola, Alternaria solanai, Cercospora species and Helminthosporium oryzae and moderate antifungal activity against Curvularia species, Curvularia lunata, Curvularia penniseti, Colletotrichum capsici, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus Erysiphae pisi and Fusarium udum fungi.  相似文献

[Pd(-NaiR)(O,O)] [-NaiR = 1-alkyl-2-(naphthyl--azo)imidazoles; R = Me (a), Et (b), CH2Ph (c) and O,O = pyrocatecholato (cat) (3), 4-t-butylcatecholato (tbcat) (4), 3,5-di-t-butylcatecholato (dtbcat) (5), and tetracholorocatecholato (tccat) (6)] complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, i.r. and 1H-n.m.r. spectral data. Studies by cyclic voltammetry suggest the existence of two redox couples, positive saturated calomel electrode (s.c.e.) that are due to catecholes to semiquinone, and semiquinone to quinone oxidations, respectively; two couples at negative to s.c.e. are associated with azo reductions. The complexes exhibit ligand-to-ligand charge-transfer transition in the near-i.r. region. The band position is largely dependent upon the substituent on the catechole frame and exhibits a negative solvatochromic effect. The transition is qualitatively assigned to the HOMO (cat) LUMO (-NaiR) transition.  相似文献

A novel tetradentate, N2O2-type Schiff base, synthesized from 1,2-bis-(o-aminophenoxy)ethane and 2-hydroxynaphthalin-1-carbaldehyde, forms stable complexes with transition metal ions such as Cu(II), Ni(II), VO(IV) and Zn(II) in DMF. Microanalytical data, elemental analyses, magnetic measurements, 1H NMR, UV, visible and IR-spectra as well as conductance measurements were used to confirm the structures.  相似文献

The perchlorate salts of two new ruthenium(II) complexes incorporating 2-(2′-pyridyl)naphthoimidazole are synthesized in good yield. Complexes [Ru(phen)2(PYNI)]2+ (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) 1 and [Ru(dmp)2(PYNI)]2+ (dmp = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, PYNI = 2-(2′-pyridyl)naphthoimidazole) 2 are fully characterized by elemental analysis, FAB-MS, ES-MS, 1H NMR and cyclic voltammetric methods. The DNA-binding behavior of the complexes have been studied by spectroscopic titration, viscosity measurements and thermal denaturation. Absorption titration and thermal denaturation studies reveal that these complexes are moderately strong binders of calf-thymus DNA (CT-DNA), with their binding constants spanning the range (2.73–5.35) × 104 M?1. The experimental results show that 1 interacts with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) by intercalative mode, while 2 binds to CT-DNA by partial intercalation.  相似文献

Monometallic zinc(II) and nickel(II) complexes, [Zn(H2nsh)(H2O)] (1) and [Ni(H2nsh)(H2O)2] (2), have been synthesized in methanol by template method from bis(2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde)succinoyldihydrazone (H4nsh). Reaction of monometallic complexes with alternate metal(II) acetates as a transmetallator in 1 : 3 molar ratio resulted in the formation of heterobimetallic complexes [NiZn(nsh)(A)3] and [ZnNi(nsh)(A′)2] (A = H2O (3), py (4), 2-pic (5), 3-pic (6), 4-pic (7)), (A′ = H2O (8), py (9), 2-pic (10), 3-pic (11), and 4-pic (12)). The complexes have been characterized by elemental analyzes, mass spectra, molar conductance, magnetic moments, electronic, EPR, and IR spectroscopies. All of the complexes are non-electrolytes. Monometallic zinc(II) is diamagnetic while monometallic nickel(II) complex and all heterobimetallic complexes are paramagnetic. The metal centers in heterobimetallic complexes are tethered by dihydrazone and naphthoxo bridging. Zinc(II) is square pyramidal; nickel(II) is six-coordinate distorted octahedral except [ZnNi(nsh)(A)2], in which nickel(II) has square-pyramidal geometry. The displacement of metal center in monometallic complexes by metal ion has been observed in the resulting heterobimetallic complexes.  相似文献

Template condensation between o-phthalaldehyde and 3,4-diaminotoluene resulted in mononuclear 16-membered tetraimine macrocyclic complexes, [MLCl2] [M?=?Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II)]. The proposed stoichiometry and the nature of the complexes have been deduced from elemental analyses, mass spectra, and molar conductance data. The macrocyclic framework has been inferred from ν(C=N) and ν(M–N) bands in the IR spectra and the resonances observed in 1H and 13C-NMR spectra. Octahedral geometry has been assigned for all these complexes on the basis of position of the bands in electronic spectra and magnetic moment data; distorted octahedral geometry has been assigned for the Cu(II) complex on the basis of EPR data. The low-conductivity data of all the complexes suggest their non-ionic nature. Interaction of these complexes with calf-thymus DNA (CT DNA) has been examined with fluorescence quenching experiments, which show that the complexes are avid binders of CT DNA.  相似文献

Three complexes containing 2-pyrazinecarboxylate (pzca–), including [Ni(pzca)2(H2O)2], [Co(pzca)2(H2O)2], and [Cu(pzca)2(H2O)2], have been synthesized and characterized using physico-chemical and spectroscopic methods. Furthermore, the structure of each complex was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. All three complexes have an octahedral geometry, where the metal ion chelated by two carboxylate oxygens, two nitrogen atoms belonging to pyrazinic acid molecules, and two oxygen atoms of two water molecules. The catalytic activities of these complex-es were also investigated in the green synthesis of 2H-indazolo[2,1-b]phthalazine-triones by the reaction of hydrazine hydrate with an arylaldehyde, phthalic anhydride, and dimedone in acetic acid.  相似文献

Synthesis of volatile complexes based on -ketoimine pivalyltrifluoroacetone, C(CH3)3C(NH)CH2COCF3, is described. The general formula of the complexes is M(L)2, where M = Cu, Ni, Pd. Complexes of this kind with Ni and Pd were obtained for the first time. The Cu and Pd complexes were found to be isostructural. A comprehensive crystal-chemical study showed that all structures are molecular and built of trans-complexes. The central atom has a square plane environment. The average M-O and M-N distances are nearly equal in all compounds: 1.84 , 1.92 , and 1.98 for Ni, Cu, and Pd complexes, respectively; the mean values of the O-M-N chelate angles are 93.4°, 91.9°, and 92.7°, respectively.Original Russian Text Copyright © 2004 by I. CoII, NiII, CuII, ZnII and CdII complexes of N,N-bis(2-{[(2-methyl-2-phenyl-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl)methyl]amino}butyl)N′,N′-dihydroxyethanediimidamide (LH2) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, 1H- and 13C-NMR spectra, electronic spectra, magnetic susceptibility measurements, conductivity measurements and thermogravimetric analyses (TGA). The CoII, NiII and CuII complexes of LH2 were synthesized with 1?:?2 metal ligand stoichiometry. ZnII and CdII complexes with LH2 have a metal ligand ratio of 1?:?1. The reaction of LH2 with CoII, NiII, CuII, ZnII and CdII chloride give complexes Ni(LH)2, Cu(LH)2, Zn(LH2)(Cl)2, Cd(LH2)(Cl)2, respectively.  相似文献

The zinc(II), copper(II), nickel(II), and cobalt(II) complexes of Schiff bases, obtained by the condensation of cefixime with furyl-2-carboxaldehyde, thiophene-2-carboxaldehyde, salicylaldehyde, pyrrol-2-carboxaldehyde, and 3-hydroxynaphthalene-2-carboxaldehyde, were synthesized and characterized by their elemental analyses, molar conductances, magnetic moments, IR, and electronic spectral measurements. Analytical data and electrical conductivity measurements indicated the formation of M?:?L (1?:?2) complexes, [M(L)2(H2O)2] or [M(L)2(H2O)2]Cl2 [where M?=?Zn(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), and Co(II)] in which ligands are bidentate via azomethine-N and deprotonated-O of salicyl and naphthyl, furanyl-O, thienyl-S, and deprotonated pyrrolyl-N. The magnetic moments and electronic spectral data suggest octahedral complexes. The synthesized ligands, along with their metal complexes, were screened for their antibacterial activity against different bacterial strains. The studies show the metal complexes to be more active against one or more species as compared to the uncomplexed ligands.  相似文献
