Buchwalter and Schmets reconciled Cc(X) and Cp(X) spaces with most of the weak barrelledness conditions of 1973, but could not determine if -barrelled ⇔ ?-barrelled for Cc(X). The areas grew apart. Full reconciliation with the fourteen conditions adopted by Saxon and Sánchez Ruiz needs their 1997 characterization of Ruess' property (L), which allows us to reduce the Cc(X) problem to its 1973 status and solve it by carefully translating the topology of Kunen (1980) and van Mill (1982) to find the example that eluded Buchwalter and Schmets. The more tractable Cp(X) readily partitions the conditions into just two equivalence classes, the same as for metrizable locally convex spaces, instead of the five required for Cc(X) spaces. Our paper elicits others, soon to appear, that analytically characterize when the Tychonov space X is pseudocompact, or Warner bounded, or when Cc(X) is a df-space (Jarchow's 1981 question).  相似文献

We show that, for bounded sequences in C(K,E), the polynomial sequential convergence is not equivalent to the pointwise polynomial sequential convergence. We introduce several conditions on E under which different versions of the result are true when K is a scattered compact space. These conditions are related with some others appeared in the literature and they seem to be of independent interest.  相似文献

We consider single-item (r, q) and (s, T) inventory systems with integer-valued demand processes. While most of the inventory literature studies continuous approximations of these models and establishes joint convexity properties of the policy parameters in the continuous space, we show that these properties no longer hold in the discrete space, in the sense of linear interpolation extension and L?-convexity. This nonconvexity can lead to failure of optimization techniques based on local optimality to obtain the optimal inventory policies. It can also make certain comparative properties established previously using continuous variables invalid. We revise these properties in the discrete space.  相似文献

In this paper we study smooth classification of hyperbolic vector fields based on their linear approximations only and obtain the following. On Rn, n?5, with only two kinds of exceptions, any two hyperbolic vector fields with generic nonlinear parts and where Ai are n×n matrices, are C1 conjugate to each other if and only if A1 and A2 are strictly similar, and they are C1 orbitally equivalent if and only if A1 and A2 are similar.  相似文献

A general framework for an algorithmic procedure based on the variational convergence of operator sequences involving A-maximal (m)-relaxed monotone (AMRM) mappings in a Hilbert space setting is developed, and then it is applied to approximating the solution of a general class of nonlinear implicit inclusion problems involving A-maximal (m)-relaxed monotone mappings. Furthermore, some specializations of interest on existence theorems and corresponding approximation solvability theorems on H-maximal monotone mappings are included that may include several other results for general variational inclusion problems on general maximal monotonicity in the literature.  相似文献

In a previous paper, the author used a notion of orthogonality introduced in another article to establish characterizations for orthogonality in the spaces lSp(C), 1?p<∞, thus obtaining generalizations of the usual characterization of orthogonality in the Hilbert spaces lS2(C), via inner products. In this paper we make explicit these characterizations for some of the spaces lSp(C). We finish by presenting some remarks and open problems.  相似文献

In this paper, a concept of graph convergence concerned with the H(·, ·)-accretive operator is introduced in Banach spaces and some equivalence theorems between of graph-convergence and resolvent operator convergence for the H(·, ·)-accretive operator sequence are proved. As an application, a perturbed algorithm for solving a class of variational inclusions involving the H(·, ·)-accretive operator is constructed. Under some suitable conditions, the existence of the solution for the variational inclusions and the convergence of iterative sequence generated by the perturbed algorithm are also given.  相似文献

A consecutive(rs)-out-of-(mn):F lattice system which is defined as a two-dimensional version of a consecutive k-out-of-n:F system is used as a reliability evaluation model for a sensor system, an X-ray diagnostic system, a pattern search system, etc. This system consists of m × n components arranged like an (mn) matrix and fails iff the system has an (rs) submatrix that contains all failed components. In this paper we deal a combined model of a k-out-of-mn:F and a consecutive (rs)-out-of-(mn):F lattice system. Namely, the system has one more condition of system down, that is the total number of failed components, in addition to that of a consecutive (rs)-out-of-(mn):F lattice system. We present a method to obtain reliability of the system. The proposed method obtains the reliability by using a combinatorial equation that does not depend on the system size. Some numerical examples are presented to show the relationship between component reliability and system reliability.  相似文献

Based on continuous review (rQ) policy, this paper deals with contracts for vendor managed inventory (VMI) program in a system comprising a single vendor and a single retailer. Two business scenarios that are popular in VMI program are “vendor with ownership” and “retailer with ownership”. Taking the system performance in centralized control as benchmark, we define a contract “perfect” if the contract can enable the system to be coordinated and can guarantee the program to be trusted. A revenue sharing contract is designed for vendor with ownership, and a franchising contract is designed for retailer with ownership. Without consideration of order policy and related costs at the vendor site, it is shown that one contract can perform satisfactorily and the other one is a perfect contract. Invexity of a function is generalized. The new class of nonconvex functions, called B-(p,r)-invex functions with respect to η and b, being introduced, includes many well-known classes of generalized invex functions as its subclasses. Some properties of the introduced class of B-(p,r)-invex functions with respect to η and b are studied. Further, mathematical programming problems involving B-(p,r)-invex functions with respect to η and b are considered. The equivalence between saddle points and optima, and different type duality theorems are established for this type of optimization problems.  相似文献

The following result due to Hanai, Morita, and Stone is well known: Let f be a closed continuous map of a metric space X onto a topological space Y. Then the following statements are equivalent: (i) Y satisfies the first countability axiom; (ii) for each yY, f−1{y} has a compact boundary in X; (iii) Y is metrizable.In this article we obtain several related results in the setting of topological ordered spaces. In particular we investigate the upper and lower topologies of metrizable topological ordered spaces which are both C- and I-spaces in the sense of Priestley.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to study the solution of 0 ∈ T(x) for an H-monotone operator introduced in [Fang and Huang, Appl. Math. Comput. 145(2003)795-803] in Hilbert spaces, which is the first proposal of it's kind. Some strong and weak convergence results are presented and the relations between maximal monotone operators and H-monotone operators are analyzed. Simultaneously, we apply these results to the minimization problem for T = ∂f and provide some numerical examples to support the theoretical findings.  相似文献
