算子的拟相似性与本质谱的性质

设算子A和B拟相似,本文通过算子谱的精密结构的分析,给出了算子A的Wolf本质谱、Kato本质谱、Weyl本质谱以及右本质谱的连通分支与算子B的Wolf本质谱的某些子集的相交关系,并肯定地回答了L．A．Fialkow在文献[3]中提出的一个问题．     

RT类算子与右本质谱的连通分支

本文研究两个拟相似算子的右本质谱之间的相交关系.通过引进RT类算子的概念,利用算子谱的精密结构的分析方法,得到一个算子的右本质谱的连通分支与另一个拟相似算子的右本质谱相交的充分和必要条件.     

Perturbation of semi-Browder operators and stability of Browder's essential defect and approximate point spectrum

In the present paper we investigate the stability of closed densely defined semi-Browder operators under operator perturbations that belong to a perturbation class related to compact operators. Furthermore, we apply the obtained results to give a characterization and to study the stability of Browder's essential approximate point spectrum and Browder's essential defect spectrum.

Truncation method for operators with disconnected essential spectrum

In this short paper, the usage of truncation method to get information about essential spectrum of bounded as well as semi-bounded linear operators on separable Hilbert spaces, is investigated. In addition to this, the problem of predicting the gaps in the essential spectrum of self-adjoint operators, linear algebraically is also considered.

Spectrum of Normal Weighted Composition Operators on the Fock Space Over ℂN

By using commutative C^*-algebra techniques, spectrum and essential spectrum of normal weighted composition operators on the Fock space over C^N are completely characterized. As an application, spectrum of self-adjoint weighted composition operators on the Fock space are obtained also.     

Characterization of Closed Densely Defined Semi-Browder Linear Operators

In the present paper we characterize the closed densely defined semi-Browder operators through the Kato decomposition. Furthermore, we apply the obtained results to give a new characterization of Browder’s essential defect spectrum and Browder’s essential approximate point spectrum under finite rank operator perturbations.     

On the filling in holes problem for operator matrices

We consider upper-triangular 2-by-2 operator matrices and are interested in the set that has to be added to certain spectra of the matrix in order to get the union of the corresponding spectra of the two diagonal operators. We show that in the cases of the Browder essential approximate point spectrum, the upper semi-Fredholm spectrum, or the lower semi-Fredholm spectrum the set in question need not to be an open set but may be just a singleton. In addition, we modify and extend known results on Hilbert space operators to operators on Banach spaces.     

Stability of essential spectra of singular Sturm‐Liouville differential operators under perturbations small at infinity

This paper is concerned with the stability of essential spectra of singular Sturm‐Liouville differential operators with complex‐valued coefficients. It is proved that the essential spectrum of the corresponding minimal operator is preserved by perturbations small at infinity with respect to the unperturbed operator. Based on it, 1‐dimensional Schrödinger operators under local dilative perturbations are studied.     

Essentially subnormal operators

An operator is essentially subnormal if its image in the Calkin algebra is subnormal. We shall characterize the essentially subnormal operators as those operators with an essentially normal extension. In fact, it is shown that an essentially subnormal operator has an extension of the form ``normal plus compact'.

The essential normal spectrum is defined and is used to characterize the essential isometries. It is shown that every essentially subnormal operator may be decomposed as the direct sum of a subnormal operator and some irreducible essentially subnormal operators. An essential version of Putnam's Inequality is proven for these operators. Also, it is shown that essential normality is a similarity invariant within the class of essentially subnormal operators. The class of essentially hyponormal operators is also briefly discussed and several examples of essentially subnormal operators are given.

     

On the Essential Spectrum of a Class of Matrix Differential Operators

We study the essential spectrum of a class of nonelliptic matrix partial differential operators related to a linear magnetohydrodynamic model.     

Embedded eigenvalues for perturbed periodic Jacobi operators using a geometric approach

We consider the problem of embedding eigenvalues into the essential spectrum of periodic Jacobi operators, using an oscillating, decreasing potential. To do this we employ a geometric method, previously used to embed eigenvalues into the essential spectrum of the discrete Schrödinger operator. For periodic Jacobi operators we relax the rational dependence conditions on the values of the quasi-momenta from this previous work. We then explore conditions that permit not just the existence of infinitely many subordinate solutions to the formal spectral equation but also the embedding of infinitely many eigenvalues.

A-Browder＇s Theorem and Generalized a-Weyl＇s Theorem

Two variants of the essential approximate point spectrum are discussed. We find for example that if one of them coincides with the left Drazin spectrum then the generalized a-Weyl＇s theorem holds, and conversely for a-isoloid operators. We also study the generalized a-Weyl＇s theorem for Class A operators.
