Let IP(N) stand for an ideal containing finite sets. We discuss various kinds of statistical convergence and I-convergence for sequences of functions with values in R or in a metric space. For real valued measurable functions defined on a measure space (X,M,μ), we obtain a statistical version of the Egorov theorem (when μ(X)<∞). We show that, in its assertion, equi-statistical convergence on a big set cannot be replaced by uniform statistical convergence. Also, we consider statistical convergence in measure and I-convergence in measure, with some consequences of the Riesz theorem. We prove that outer and inner statistical convergences in measure (for sequences of measurable functions) are equivalent if the measure is finite.  相似文献

In recent papers (cf. [J.L. Arregui, O. Blasco, (p,q)-Summing sequences, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 274 (2002) 812-827; J.L. Arregui, O. Blasco, (p,q)-Summing sequences of operators, Quaest. Math. 26 (2003) 441-452; S. Aywa, J.H. Fourie, On summing multipliers and applications, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 253 (2001) 166-186; J.H. Fourie, I. Röntgen, Banach space sequences and projective tensor products, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 277 (2) (2003) 629-644]) the concept of (p,q)-summing multiplier was considered in both general and special context. It has been shown that some geometric properties of Banach spaces and some classical theorems can be described using spaces of (p,q)-summing multipliers. The present paper is a continuation of this study, whereby multiplier spaces for some classical Banach spaces are considered. The scope of this research is also broadened, by studying other classes of summing multipliers. Let E(X) and F(Y) be two Banach spaces whose elements are sequences of vectors in X and Y, respectively, and which contain the spaces c00(X) and c00(Y) of all X-valued and Y-valued sequences which are eventually zero, respectively. Generally spoken, a sequence of bounded linear operators (un)⊂L(X,Y) is called a multiplier sequence from E(X) to F(Y) if the linear operator from c00(X) into c00(Y) which maps (xi)∈c00(X) onto (unxn)∈c00(Y) is bounded with respect to the norms on E(X) and F(Y), respectively. Several cases where E(X) and F(Y) are different (classical) spaces of sequences, including, for instance, the spaces Rad(X) of almost unconditionally summable sequences in X, are considered. Several examples, properties and relations among spaces of summing multipliers are discussed. Important concepts like R-bounded, semi-R-bounded and weak-R-bounded from recent papers are also considered in this context.  相似文献

If (Σ,X) is a measurable space and X a Banach space we investigate the X-inheritance of copies of ? in certain subspaces Δ(Σ,X) of bvca(Σ,X), the Banach space of all X-valued countable additive measures of bounded variation equipped with the variation norm. Among the consequences of our main theorem we get a theorem of J. Mendoza on the X-inheritance of copies of ? in the Bochner space L1(μ,X) and other of the author on the X-inheritance of copies of ? in bvca(Σ,X).  相似文献

We study the smoothness property of a function f with absolutely convergent Fourier series, and give best possible sufficient conditions in terms of its Fourier coefficients to ensure that f belongs either to one of the Lipschitz classes Lip(α) and lip(α) for some 0<α?1, or to one of the Zygmund classes Λ(1) and λ(1). Our theorems generalize some of those by Boas [R.P. Boas Jr., Fourier series with positive coefficients, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 17 (1967) 463-483] and one by Németh [J. Németh, Fourier series with positive coefficients and generalized Lipschitz classes, Acta Sci. Math. (Szeged) 54 (1990) 291-304]. We also prove a localized version of a theorem by Paley [R.E.A.C. Paley, On Fourier series with positive coefficients, J. London Math. Soc. 7 (1932) 205-208] on the existence and continuity of the derivative of f.  相似文献

The representation of dual spaces of EM(μ,X), owing to its extensive application, is given in this paper. Using the representation, we get the sufficient and necessary conditions of LM(μ,X) possessing drop property, and extend the result of Hudzik and Wang [H. Hudzik, B. Wang, Approximative compactness in Orlicz spaces, J. Approx. Theory 95 (1998) 82-89]. Simultaneously, under some conditions, the weak drop property in LM(μ,X) and LM(μ,X) is discussed.  相似文献

In this paper, we first give several operator identities involving the bivariate Rogers-Szegö polynomials. By applying the technique of parameter augmentation to the multiple q-binomial theorems given by Milne [S.C. Milne, Balanced summation theorems for U(n) basic hypergeometric series, Adv. Math. 131 (1997) 93-187], we obtain several new multiple q-series identities involving the bivariate Rogers-Szegö polynomials. These include multiple extensions of Mehler's formula and Rogers's formula. Our U(n+1) generalizations are quite natural as they are also a direct and immediate consequence of their (often classical) known one-variable cases and Milne's fundamental theorem for An or U(n+1) basic hypergeometric series in Theorem 1.49 of [S.C. Milne, An elementary proof of the Macdonald identities for , Adv. Math. 57 (1985) 34-70], as rewritten in Lemma 7.3 on p. 163 of [S.C. Milne, Balanced summation theorems for U(n) basic hypergeometric series, Adv. Math. 131 (1997) 93-187] or Corollary 4.4 on pp. 768-769 of [S.C. Milne, M. Schlosser, A new An extension of Ramanujan's summation with applications to multilateral An series, Rocky Mountain J. Math. 32 (2002) 759-792].  相似文献

In this paper, several weak and strong convergence theorems are established for a modified Noor iterative scheme with errors for three asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in Banach spaces. Mann-type, Ishikawa-type, and Noor-type iterations are covered by the new iteration scheme. Our results extend and improve the recently announced ones [B.L. Xu, M.A. Noor, Fixed point iterations for asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in Banach spaces, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 267 (2002) 444-453; Y.J. Cho, H. Zhou, G. Guo, Weak and strong convergence theorems for three-step iterations with errors for asymptotically nonexpansive mappings, Comput. Math. Appl. 47 (2004) 707-717] and many others.  相似文献

By a ball-covering B of a Banach space X, we mean that B is a collection of open (or closed) balls off the origin whose union contains the unit sphere SX of X; and X is said to have the ball-covering property (BCP) provided it admits a ball-covering by countably many balls. In this note we give a natural example showing that the ball-covering property of a Banach space is not inherited by its subspaces; and we present a sharp quantitative version of the recent Fonf and Zanco renorming result saying that if the dual X of X is w separable, then for every ε>0 there exist a (1+ε)-equivalent norm on X, and an R>0 such that in this new norm SX admits a ball-covering by countably many balls of radius R. Namely, we show that R=R(ε) can be taken arbitrarily close to (1+ε)/ε, and that for X=?1[0,1] the corresponding R cannot be equal to 1/ε. This gives the sharp order of magnitude for R(ε) as ε→0.  相似文献

For a given graph G of order n, a k-L(2,1)-labelling is defined as a function f:V(G)→{0,1,2,…k} such that |f(u)-f(v)|?2 when dG(u,v)=1 and |f(u)-f(v)|?1 when dG(u,v)=2. The L(2,1)-labelling number of G, denoted by λ(G), is the smallest number k such that G has a k-L(2,1)-labelling. The hole index ρ(G) of G is the minimum number of integers not used in a λ(G)-L(2,1)-labelling of G. We say G is full-colorable if ρ(G)=0; otherwise, it will be called non-full colorable. In this paper, we consider the graphs with λ(G)=2m and ρ(G)=m, where m is a positive integer. Our main work generalized a result by Fishburn and Roberts [No-hole L(2,1)-colorings, Discrete Appl. Math. 130 (2003) 513-519].  相似文献

A Banach space X is said to have the kp-approximation property (kp-AP) if for every Banach space Y, the space F(Y,X) of finite rank operators is dense in the space Kp(Y,X) of p-compact operators endowed with its natural ideal norm kp. In this paper we study this notion that has been previously treated by Sinha and Karn (2002) in [15]. As application, the kp-AP of dual Banach spaces is characterized via density of finite rank operators in the space of quasi p-nuclear operators for the p-summing norm. This allows to obtain a relation between the kp-AP and Saphar's approximation property. As another application, the kp-AP is characterized in terms of a trace condition. Finally, we relate the kp-AP to the (p,p)-approximation property introduced in Sinha and Karn (2002) [15] for subspaces of Lp(μ)-spaces.  相似文献

Let X be a Banach space and Z a nonempty closed subset of X. Let be an upper semicontinuous function bounded from above. This paper is concerned with the perturbed optimization problem supzZ{J(z)+‖xz‖}, which is denoted by (x,J)-sup. We shall prove in the present paper that if Z is a closed boundedly relatively weakly compact nonempty subset, then the set of all xX for which the problem (x,J)-sup has a solution is a dense Gδ-subset of X. In the case when X is uniformly convex and J is bounded, we will show that the set of all points x in X for which there does not exist z0Z such that J(z0)+‖xz0‖=supzZ{J(z)+‖xz‖} is a σ-porous subset of X and the set of all points xX?Z0 such that there exists a maximizing sequence of the problem (x,J)-sup which has no convergent subsequence is a σ-porous subset of X?Z0, where Z0 denotes the set of all zZ such that z is in the solution set of (z,J)-sup.  相似文献

Let X be a real reflexive Banach space with dual X. Let L:XD(L)→X be densely defined, linear and maximal monotone. Let T:XD(T)→X2, with 0∈D(T) and 0∈T(0), be strongly quasibounded and maximal monotone, and C:XD(C)→X bounded, demicontinuous and of type (S+) w.r.t. D(L). A new topological degree theory has been developed for the sum L+T+C. This degree theory is an extension of the Berkovits-Mustonen theory (for T=0) and an improvement of the work of Addou and Mermri (for T:XX2 bounded). Unbounded maximal monotone operators with are strongly quasibounded and may be used with the new degree theory.  相似文献

Let X be a Banach space and Z a nonempty subset of X. Let J:ZR be a lower semicontinuous function bounded from below and p?1. This paper is concerned with the perturbed optimization problem of finding z0Z such that ‖xz0p+J(z0)=infzZ{‖xzp+J(z)}, which is denoted by minJ(x,Z). The notions of the J-strictly convex with respect to Z and of the Kadec with respect to Z are introduced and used in the present paper. It is proved that if X is a Kadec Banach space with respect to Z and Z is a closed relatively boundedly weakly compact subset, then the set of all xX for which every minimizing sequence of the problem minJ(x,Z) has a converging subsequence is a dense Gδ-subset of X?Z0, where Z0 is the set of all points zZ such that z is a solution of the problem minJ(z,Z). If additionally p>1 and X is J-strictly convex with respect to Z, then the set of all xX for which the problem minJ(x,Z) is well-posed is a dense Gδ-subset of X?Z0.  相似文献

We establish here some inequalities between distances of pointwise bounded subsets H of RX to the space of real-valued continuous functions C(X) that allow us to examine the quantitative difference between (pointwise) countable compactness and compactness of H relative to C(X). We prove, amongst other things, that if X is a countably K-determined space the worst distance of the pointwise closure of H to C(X) is at most 5 times the worst distance of the sets of cluster points of sequences in H to C(X): here distance refers to the metric of uniform convergence in RX. We study the quantitative behavior of sequences in H approximating points in . As a particular case we obtain the results known about angelicity for these Cp(X) spaces obtained by Orihuela. We indeed prove our results for spaces C(X,Z) (hence for Banach-valued functions) and we give examples that show when our estimates are sharp.  相似文献

Let (G,X) be a second-countable transformation group with G acting freely on X. It is shown that measure-theoretic accumulation of the action and topological strength of convergence in the orbit space X/G provide equivalent ways of quantifying the extent of nonproperness of the action. These notions are linked via the representation theory of the transformation-group C-algebra C0(X)?G.  相似文献

Lim's theorems for multivalued mappings in CAT(0) spaces   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Let X be a complete CAT(0) space. We prove that, if E is a nonempty bounded closed convex subset of X and a nonexpansive mapping satisfying the weakly inward condition, i.e., there exists pE such that ∀xE, ∀α∈[0,1], then T has a fixed point. In Banach spaces, this is a result of Lim [On asymptotic centers and fixed points of nonexpansive mappings, Canad. J. Math. 32 (1980) 421-430]. The related result for unbounded R-trees is given.  相似文献

Let G be a graph and d(u) denote the degree of a vertex u in G. The zeroth-order general Randi? index 0Rα(G) of the graph G is defined as ∑uV(G)d(u)α, where the summation goes over all vertices of G and α is an arbitrary real number. In this paper we correct the proof of the main Theorem 3.5 of the paper by Hu et al. [Y. Hu, X. Li, Y. Shi, T. Xu, Connected (n,m)-graphs with minimum and maximum zeroth-order general Randi? index, Discrete Appl. Math. 155 (8) (2007) 1044-1054] and give a more general Theorem. We finally characterize 1 for α<0 the connected G(n,m)-graphs with maximum value 0Rα(G(n,m)), where G(n,m) is a simple connected graph with n vertices and m edges.  相似文献
