Nitric oxide was discovered in both the lab and the alga culture pond of Daya Bay (1―300 m3) before the growth of alga reached the maximum. The results included: (1) NO was detected before the growth of alga reached the maximum in the case of red tide alga and food alga, and the concentration of NO decreased rapidly after the growth maximum; (2) the curve between NO con-centration and time indicated that the concentration of NO in the daytime was more than that at night, and the maximal concentration of NO appeared in the midday (1―3 pm); (3) the growth of alga reached the maximum in the alga culture pond of Daya Bay in about 8―10 d, and NO was discovered in 5―7 d; (4) the measured NO concentration was 10-9 mol/L, 10-9―10-8 mol/L, and 10-8 mol/L for Haeterosigma akashiwo, mixed alga in Daya Bay and Chaetoceros Curvisetus individually; (5) the relation of illumination with NO production was discussed.  相似文献

The capacity of certain extracts of marine invertebrates of the Indian and Pacific Oceans for activating -1,3-glucanases has been detected. It has been shown that an individual compound — swinholide A from the spongeTheonella swinhoei — specifically activates -1,3-glucanases of bivlve mollusks. The sestertepene (−)-wistarin has been isolated from a Red Sea sponge of the genus Ircinia. This metabolite is the enantiomer of (+)-wistarin, a tetracyclic metabolite previously isolated from the sponge Ircinia wistarii. The enantiomeric relationship was proved by comparison of the CD spectrum of (−)-wistarin with that of a synthetic sample of the (+)-isomer. A hypothetical biosynthesis of (−)-wistarin is discussed starting from a putative linear precursor.  相似文献

A new LC–MS/MS method for the separation and detection of the most prominent marine lipophilic toxin groups comprising okadaic acid, dinophysistoxins, yessotoxins, azaspiracids, pectenotoxins, spirolides and some okadaic acid fatty acid esters has been developed. With this method 28 different marine lipophilic biotoxins can be analysed in a single run. Separation was achieved with an acetonitrile/water gradient containing ammonium hydroxide (pH 11). All toxins were stable under these basic conditions. Compared to chromatography using an acidic gradient, the limit of detection (LODs) for okadaic acid, yessotoxin, gymnodimine and 13-desmethyl spirolide C were improved two- to three-fold, mainly due to better peak shapes. The azaspiracids and pectenotoxins-2 showed comparable LODs under acidic and basic conditions. A major advantage of the developed method is that toxins can be clustered in retention time windows separated for positively and negatively ionized molecular ions. Therefore, there is no need for rapid polarity switching or two separate runs for one sample. The new method showed good repeatability and reproducibility and is an important step in the development of alternatives to the animal tests currently in use for shellfish toxin analysis.  相似文献

The Coupled Environment Fracture Model (CEFM) has been modified and calibrated to predict crack growth rate (CGR) in aluminum marine alloys. The customized CEFM provided quantitative predictions of the effects of O2, electrochemical potential, stress intensity factor, and conductivity on CGR in lightly sensitized AA5083-H321 in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution, as well as explaining the development of a semi-elliptical surface cracks. The importance of the properties of the external environment, such as conductivity, oxidant/reductant concentration, and the kinetics of the cathodic reactions on the surfaces external to the crack has been confirmed. Crack growth is attributed to a sequence of microfracture events at the crack front, the frequency of which is determined by the mechanical conditions that exist at the crack tip, as governed by the stress intensity while the microfracture dimension is determined by hydrogen-induced fracture, with the CGR being the product of these two quantities. The success in explaining the intergranular stress corrosion cracking (IGSCC) of aluminum alloys, argues that the basic concept of the CEFM, that the internal and external environments are strongly coupled, is sound and that the CEFM, which was originally developed to describe IGSCC in sensitized stainless steels is equally applicable for describing IGSCC in lightly sensitized aluminum alloys.  相似文献

This report describes the use of α-glucosidase to evaluate the anti-diabetic potential of extracts from marine sponges collected in the Mauritius waters. Initial screening at 1.0 mg/mL of 141 extracts obtained from 47 sponge species revealed 10 extracts with inhibitory activity greater than 85%. Seven of the 10 extracts were further tested at 0.1 and 0.01 mg/mL and only the methanol extract of two sponges namely Acanthostylotella sp. (ASSM) and Echinodictyum pykei (EPM) showed inhibition activity greater than 60% at 0.1 mg/mL with an IC50 value of 0.16 ± 0.02 and 0.04 ± 0.01 mg/mL, respectively, while being inactive at 0.01 mg/mL.  相似文献

Six sediment cores collected from the Northwestern Arabian/Persian Gulf have been radiometrically dated by 210Pb. Three cores were collected from stations within the Kuwait Bay, and three others were collected from stations outside the bay. Two models have been used for 210Pb dating of sediment cores, i.e. Constant Flux: Constant Sedimentation (CF:CS) Model and the Constant Rate of Supply (CRS) Model. The average rates were found to vary significantly between 0.16 and 1.00 cm y?1 for stations outside and within the bay respectively. The variability of the sedimentation rate was essentially physiographic characteristics and variable hydrodynamic condition. In this study, 137Cs fallout radiotracer was also used to construct a realistic chronology. It was observed that the 137Cs in the entire vertical profile has been continuously contributed by fluvial and atmospheric deposition.  相似文献

Effects of the concentrations and ratio of reacting components and of temperature on the kinetics of reaction of N-propionyllactam (I) with potassium salt of lactam (KL) were studied for derivatives of ϵ-caprolactam, 8-octanelactam and 12-dodecanelactam. For ϵ-caprolactam, the initial rates of propagation, acylation of open-chain amide groups and condensation of growth centres were estimated. At the ratio of the starting components [I]0/[KL]0 = 0.5-3, the participation of the polymerization reaction is constant, amounting to ca 45% of the overall consumption of 1. The condensation reaction is 14–36% of the total consumption of I; its initial rate passes through a maximum at [I]0/[KL]0 = 2. With increasing permittivity of the medium, the total rate of consumption of I increases; in two media with the same bulk permittivity, however, the rates may differ by as much as one order of magnitude.  相似文献

Phthalascidin is a structurally simplified version of Et-743, which is a potent anti-tumor marine natural product isolated from Ecteinascidia turbinata. Its antiproliferative activity is greater than that of the agents taxol, camptothecin, adriamycin, mitomycin C, cisplatin, bleomycin, and etoposide by 1-3 orders of magnitude. Using the method of solid-phase peptide synthesis, two peptides have been synthesized, one of which corresponds to the central ring structure of -bungarotoxin (-BTX), while the second has in position 28 a Gly residue in place of the Trp in the first peptide, and their interrelationship with antitoxin antibodies has been investigated. The dissociation constant of each step for TB-chlorosulphophenol has been determined by potentiometric method, and the thermodynamic constants, △G°, △H° and △S°, of the dissociation process have been calculated. The melting behavior of the -form of isotactic polypropylene (-iPP) was investigated as a function of crystallization time and temperature. Calcium suberate, a selective -nucleating agent was used to produce samples that consist entirely of -form i-PP. The experimental melting points were recorded at different crystallization times and were extrapolated to the start of the crystallization process in order to eliminate the effect of lamellar thickening. Using the non-linear Hoffman—Weeks approach to correlate these extrapolated experimental melting temperatures with the corresponding crystallization temperatures, an equilibrium melting point of 209°C was obtained for -iPP. The equilibrium melting point estimated through the non-linear Hoffman—Weeks analysis is about 30°C higher than that (T m 0=177°C) obtained on the basis of the linear extrapolation. These results are consistent with earlier claims that a linear extrapolation of T mT c data leads to an underestimation of the equilibrium melting point. The results obtained for -iPP exemplify the importance of accounting for both the isothermal lamellar thickening effects and the non-linearity in the T mT c correlation, when the determination of an equilibrium melting point is carried out using a procedure based on the predictions of the Lauritzen—Hoffman secondary nucleation theory.This revised version was published online in November 2005 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献
