A PVC membrane electrode using [Bzo2Me2Ph2(16)hexaeneN4] ( I ) as ionophore, oleic acid as lipophilic additive and o‐nitrophenyloctyl ether as plasticizer has been investigated as Zn(II)‐selective electrode. The membrane incorporating 34.9% (w/w) PVC, 2.3% I , 4.7% OA and 58.1% o‐NPOE gave linear response over the concentration range 2.82×10?6?1.0×10?1 M with a Nernstian slope of 28.5±0.2 mV/decade of concentration with a detection limit of 2.24×10?6 M (0.146 ppm) and showed a response time of less than 10 s and could be used in pH range 2.5–8.5. High selectivity was obtained over a wide variety of metal ions. The proposed electrode was successfully used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of zinc ions with EDTA and for determination of zinc in real samples.  相似文献

A triiodide-selective electrode based on copper (II)-Schiff base complex as a membrane carrier is proposed. The electrode was prepared by incorporating the carrier into a plasticized polyvinylchloride (PVC) membrane and was directly coated on the surface of a graphite electrode. The obtained electrode showed a near Nernstian slope of 57.0 ± 0.4 mV/decade to I 3 ions over an activity range of 1.0 × 10−5−1.0 × 10−1 M with a limit of detection of 4.8 × 10−6 M. The response time of the electrode was fast (5 s) and the electrode could be used for about 2 months without considerable divergence in response. The potentiometric selectivity coefficients were evaluated and displayed anti-Hofmeister behavior. The electrode was used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of the triiodide ion and in the determination of ascorbic acid in vitamin C tablets. A novel membrane sensor for selective monitoring of iodide, consisting of a triiodide‐ketoconazole ion pair complex dispersed in a PVC matrix, plasticized with a mixture of 2‐nitrophenyl octyl ether and dioctylphtalate with unique selectivity toward iodide ions, is described. The influence of membrane composition, pH of test solution and foreign ions on the electrode performance were investigated. The optimized membrane demonstrates a near‐Nernstian response for iodide ions over a wide linear range from 1.0 × 10?2 to 1.0 × 10?5 M, at 25 ± 1 °C. The electrode could be used over a wide pH range 3–10 and has the advantages of high selectivity, fast response time and good lifetime (over 4 months). It was successfully used as indicator electrode in potentiometric titrations and direct potentiometric assay of iodide ions.  相似文献

Abstract

This report describes an attempt to develop potentiometric Mg2+ sensors based on a liquid polymeric membrane. Membrane incorporating 4,5-Bis(benzoylthio)-1,3- dithiole-2-thione (Bz2dmit) as ionophore, with composition Bz2 dmit:NaTPB:NB:PVC in the ratio 2.5:2.5:65:30 (w/w), exhibits the best result for potentiometric sensing of Mg2+ ions. The proposed electrode, based on Bz2 dmitwith nitrobenzene (NB) as a solvent mediator in a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) membrane matrix, exhibited a near-Nernstian response to Mg2+ in the concentration range of 1.0 × 10?5 to 1.0 × 10?1 M, with a slope of 29.2 mV per decade of activity of Mg2+. The lower limit of detection was 1.0 × 10?5 M. This sensor showed high selectivity with respect to alkaline, alkaline earth, transition, and heavy metal ions, except for Sr2+, and could be used over a pH range of 3.5–9.0. It can be used for at least 2 mo without considerable divergence in potentials and has a relatively fast response of <10 s. It was applied successfully as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of Mg2+ ions with EDTA.  相似文献

Abstract

A new PVC membrane electrode for lead ions, based on bis[(1-hydroxy-9,10-anthraquinone)-2-methyl]sulfide as membrane carrier, was prepared. The sensor exhibits a Nernstian response for Pb2+ over a wide concentration range (5.6 × 10?3-4.0 × 10?6 M). It has a response time of about 30 s and can be used for at least 3 months without any divergence in potentials. The proposed membrane sensor revealed good selectivities for Pb2+ over a wide variety of other metal ions. It was used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of lead ion.  相似文献

Novel polymeric membrane electrode (PME) and coated graphite electrode (CGE) for nickel ion were prepared based on 2,9-(2-methoxyaniline)2-4,11-Me2-[14]-1,4,8,11-tetraene-1,5,8,12-N4 as a suitable neutral ionophore. The addition of lipophilic anion excluder (NaTPB) and various plasticizers viz o-nitrophenyloctylether (o-NPOE), dioctylphthalate (DOP), dibutylphthalate (DBP), 1-chloronaphthalene (CN) and tri-n-butylphosphate (TBP) have found to improve the performance of the sensors. The best performance was obtained for the membrane sensor having a composition of I:NaTPB:TBP:PVC in the ratio 6:4:100:90 (w/w; mg). The electrodes exhibit Nernstian slopes for Ni2+ ions over wide concentration ranges of 4.6 × 10?7–1.0 × 10?1 M for PME and 7.7 × 10?8–1.0 × 10?1 M for CGE with limits of detection of 2.7 × 10?7 M for PME and 3.7 × 10?8 M for CGE. The response time for PME and CGE was found to be 10 and 8 s respectively. The potentiometric responses are independent of the pH of the test solution in the pH range 3.0–8.0. The proposed electrodes revealed good selectivities over a wide variety of other cations including alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. The coated graphite electrode was used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of nickel ion with EDTA and in direct determination in different fruit juices and wine samples.  相似文献

A novel potentiometric sensor has been devised by coupling intact microorganisms (Streptococcus faecium) with an ammonia gas-sensing membrane electrode. The resulting electrode provides a linear response to arginine over the concentration range 5.0 × lO-5–1. 0 × 10-3 M in phosphate buffer pH 7.4, with selectivity over other amino acids. The slope of the calibration graph is -40 to -45 mV/decade during the period 2–20 days after preparation. This membrane electrode with living bacterial cells may serve as a model for the development of other new sensing systems.  相似文献

A novel gadolinium ion‐selective electrode based on the antibiotic omeprazole as membrane carrier was prepared. The electrode has a linear dynamic range between 1.0×10?1 and 1.0×10?5 M, with a Nernstian slope of 19.3 ± 0.3 mV decade?1 and a detection limit of 5.0×10?6 M. The potentiometric response is independent of the pH of the solution in the pH range 4.0–10.0. The electrode possesses the advantages of short conditioning time, fast response time and especially, very good selectivity over a large number of other cations. The electrode can be used for at least 2 months without any considerable divergence in potentials. A highly selective PVC‐membrane electrode based on 2,6‐diphenylpyrylium fluoroborate is presented. The electrode reveals a Nernstian potentiometric response for sulfate ion over a wide concentration range (5.0 × 10?6‐1.0 × 10?1 M). The electrode has a response time of about 10 s and can be used for at least 2 months without any divergence. The proposed sensor revealed very good selectivities for sulfate over a wide variety of common organic and inorganic anions and could be used over a wide pH range (2.5–9.5). The detection limit of the sensor is 3.0 × 10?6 M. It was successfully applied to the direct determination of salbutamol, paramomycin tablets, and as an indicator electrode for potentiometric titration of sulfate ions with barium ions.  相似文献

Abstract

The potentiometric response characteristics of a new copper(II) ion-selective PVC membrane electrode based on erythromycin ethyl succinate (EES) as ionophore were investigated. The electrode exhibited a Nernstian response to Cu2+ ions over the activity range of 1.5 × 10?2 to 2.0 × 10?6 mol L?1 with a limit of detection of 6.3 × 10?7 mol L?1. Stable potentials were obtained in the pH range of 5.5–6.5. The potentiometric selectivity coefficients were calculated by using fixed interference method and revealed no important interferences except for Ag+. This electrode was successfully applied as an indicator electrode in determination of copper ions in real water samples.  相似文献

A dichromate‐selective PVC‐membrane electrode based on Quinaldine Red (an acridinium derivative) is described. The electrode exhibits rapid (< 30 s) and linear response to the activity of Cr(VI) anions in the range of 5.2 × 10?6 ?1.0 × 10?1 M dichromate with the limit of detection 2.5 × 10?6 Mof Cr2O72?. The sensor is used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric determination of Cr(VI) anions and is also suitable for end‐point indication in the titrations of proper metal ions with dichromate under laboratory conditions. The proposed electrode has been applied to the direct potentiometric determination of Cr(VI) anions in water samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

A highly selective and sensitive membrane electrode based on vanadyl salen complex (VS), which responds to monohydrogenphosphate (MHP) ions is described. The response of the sensor is Nernstian over the wide concentration range (1.0×10?1 ? 5.0×10?6 M) of MHP. The sensitivity of the electrode is high enough to permit the detection of as little as 0.6 μg/mL of MHP without any significant interference from high levels of other anions. The potentiometric selectivity coefficient data revealed negligible interference from 11 common anions. The electrode has a fast response time (<25 s), good slope stability at pH 8.2 for a period of at least eight weeks. It was successfully applied for the direct determination of monohydrogenphosphate in fertilizer and, as indicator electrode, in potentiometric titration of HPO42? ion with barium chloride.  相似文献

Detection limit is 1.5×10?6 M. The response time of the sensor is 15s and the useful working pH range is 4.7-6.8. The membrane can be used for more than 4 months without any considerable divergence in potentials. The electrodes revealed comparatively good selectivities with respect to alkali, alkaline earth and some transition and heavy metal ions. A PVC membrane electrode for zinc ions based on cryptand C2B22 as membrane carrier was prepared. A poly(vinyl chloride) membrane sensor based on oxalic acid bis (cyclohexylidene hydrazide) as membrane carrier was prepared and investigated as a Cr(III)‐selective electrode. The electrode reveals a Nernstian behavior (slope 19.8±0.4 mV decade?1) over a wide Cr(III) ion concentration range 1.0×10?7–1.0×10?2 mol dm?3 with a very low limit of detection (i.e., down to 6.3×10?8 mol dm?3). The potentiometric response of the sensor is independent of the pH of the test solution in the pH range 1.7–6.5. The electrode possesses advantage of very fast response, relatively long lifetime and especially good selectivity to wide variety of other cations. Abstract

In this study, a new ion-selective electrode for Sm3+ is described, illustrating 2-[(E)-1-(1H-pyrrol-2-yl)methylidene]-1-hydrazinecarbothioamide (PMH) in a poly(vinylchloride) (PVC) membrane with nitrobenzene (NB) as a plasticizer and sodium tetraphenyl borate (NaTPB) as an anionic additive. The proposed sensor exhibited a Nernstian response for Sm3+ ions over a wide concentration range between 1.0 × 10?2 and 1 × 10?6 M, with a detection limit of 5.2 × 10?7 M in the pH range of 4.2–8.5. Moreover, the sensor displayed the Nernstian slope of 19.8 ± 0.3 mV per decade, having a fast response time within 10 s over the entire concentration range. This electrode presented very good selectivity and sensitivity toward the Sm3+ ions over a wide variety of cations, including alkali, alkaline earth, transition-metal, and heavy-metal ions. It was used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of Sm3+ ions with EDTA. The membrane sensor was also applied to the determination of fluoride ions in mouthwash samples.  相似文献

A new chromium(III) PVC membrane sensor incorporating ptertiary‐butyl calix[4]arene as ionophore, potassium tetrakis as additive and dibutyl phthalate (DBP) as plasticizer was constructed. The electrode exhibited an excellent potentiometric response over a wide concentration range of 1.0×10?7–1.0×10?1 M with a Nernstian slope of 20±0.5 mV per decade. The detection limit was 5.0×10?8 M.
