An araldite-based titanium tungstoarsenate solid membrane electrode has been developed to estimate rubidium ion concentration in the range 10?1 to 4×10?5M. The electrode shows considerable selectivity for rubidium ions over other cations. Treatment with a 10?4M solution of the anionic surfactant, sodium dodecyl sulphate, not only makes the membrane immune to detergent effects but the selectivity and validity range of the electrode assembly are also improved.  相似文献

Novel polymeric membrane electrode (PME) and coated graphite electrode (CGE) for nickel ion were prepared based on 2,9-(2-methoxyaniline)2-4,11-Me2-[14]-1,4,8,11-tetraene-1,5,8,12-N4 as a suitable neutral ionophore. The addition of lipophilic anion excluder (NaTPB) and various plasticizers viz o-nitrophenyloctylether (o-NPOE), dioctylphthalate (DOP), dibutylphthalate (DBP), 1-chloronaphthalene (CN) and tri-n-butylphosphate (TBP) have found to improve the performance of the sensors. The best performance was obtained for the membrane sensor having a composition of I:NaTPB:TBP:PVC in the ratio 6:4:100:90 (w/w; mg). The electrodes exhibit Nernstian slopes for Ni2+ ions over wide concentration ranges of 4.6 × 10?7–1.0 × 10?1 M for PME and 7.7 × 10?8–1.0 × 10?1 M for CGE with limits of detection of 2.7 × 10?7 M for PME and 3.7 × 10?8 M for CGE. The response time for PME and CGE was found to be 10 and 8 s respectively. The potentiometric responses are independent of the pH of the test solution in the pH range 3.0–8.0. The proposed electrodes revealed good selectivities over a wide variety of other cations including alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. The coated graphite electrode was used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of nickel ion with EDTA and in direct determination in different fruit juices and wine samples.  相似文献

A sol‐gel electrode, based on thiacalix[4]arene as a neutral carrier, was successfully developed for the detection of VO2+ in aqueous solutions. The sol‐gel electrode exhibited linear response with Nernstian slope of 29.3±0.3 mV per decade, within the vanadyl ion concentration ranges 1.0×10?6 – 1.0×10?1 mol dm?3. The sol‐gel electrode shows detection limit of 4.9×10?7 mol dm?3. The influence of membrane composition, the pH of the test solution, and the interfering ions on the electrode performance were investigated. The electrode exhibited good selectivities for a number of alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. The effect of temperature on the electrode response showed that the temperature higher than 60 °C deteriorates the electrode performance. Application of the electrode for the determination of vanadyl in spiked samples is reported.  相似文献

A polyvinylchloride membrane sensor based on N,N′‐bis(salecylidene)‐1,2‐phenylenediamine (salophen) as membrane carrier was prepared and investigated as a Al3+‐selective electrode. The sensor exhibits a Nernstian response toward Al(III) over a wide concentration range (8.0×10?7–3.0×10?2 M), with a detection limit of 6.0×10?7 M. The potentiometric response of the sensor is independent of the pH of the test solution in the pH range 3.2–4.5. The electrode possesses advantages of very fast response and high selectivity for Al3+ in comparison with alkali, alkaline earth and some heavy metal ions. The sensor was used as an indicator electrode, in the potentiometric titration of aluminum ion and in determination of Al3+ contents in drug, water and waste water samples.  相似文献

Studies on complex formation of tris(3‐(2‐hydroxybenzophenone)propyl)amine (THPA) with a number of metal ions in acetonitrile solution revealed the occurrence of a selective 1 : 1 complexation of the proposed ligand with Sn2+ ion. Consequently, THPA was used as a suitable neutral ionophore for the preparation of a polymeric membrane‐selective electrode. The electrode exhibits a Nernstian behavior with a slope of 29.4±0.3 mV per decade and a detection limit of 2.0×10?7 M. It also showed a good selectivity for Sn2+ ions in comparison with some of group A and B metal ions over a wide concentration range of 5.0×10?7–1.0×10?1 M. Improved selectivity was achieved compared to the best selectivity recently reported by other authors for tin(II). The electrode was successfully applied to the determination of Sn2+ ion in waste water and various canned products.  相似文献

An iron (III) ion selective PVC membrane electrode based on 1,7-dithia 12-crown-4 as a neutral carrier was prepared. Monovalent responses with a Nerstian slope of 56+1 mV/decade was observed for the Fe (III) ion-selective electrode within the concentration range 10?3–10?5 M Fe (NO3)3. The monovalent responses may be attributed to the formation of Fe (OH)2+ or Fe (OH)2(H2O)+4 species in aqueous solutions and the absorption of these ions into the PVC electrode membrane. The electrode exhibited good selectivity for Fe (III) in comparison with various alkali, alkali-earth and some heavy metal ions. The effects of the composition of the membrame, addition of STPB (sodium tetraphenyl borate), the concentration of internal solution of the electrode and anions in the test solutions were discussed.  相似文献

A new modified carbon paste electrode (CPE) based on a recently synthesized ligand [2‐mercapto‐5‐(3‐nitrophenyl)‐1,3,4‐thiadiazole] (MNT), self‐assembled to gold nanoparticles (GNP) as suitable carrier for Cd(II) ion with potentiometric method are described. The proposed electrode exhibits a Nernstian slope of 29.4±1.0 mV per decade for Cd(II) ion over a wide concentration range from 3.1×10?8 to 3.1×10?4 mol L?1. The detection limit of electrode was 2.0×10?8 mol L?1 of cadmium ion. The potentiometric responses of electrode based on MNT is independent of the pH of test solution in the pH range 2.0–4.0. It has quick response with response time of about 6 s. The proposed electrode show fairly good selectivity over some alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. Finally, the proposed electrode was successfully employed to detect Cd(II) ion in hair and water samples.  相似文献

A new PVC membrane coated graphite electrode for cesium ion based on 4′,4″(5′)di–tert-butyl di-benzo-18-crown-6 (DTBDB18C6) as ionophore was prepared. The electrode shows a near Nernstian response of 57.0 ± 1.8 mV decade?1 over a wide activity range of 6.0 × 10?6–1.0 × 10?1 mol L?1 with a limit of detection 4.0 × 10?6 mol L?1. The proposed electrode is suitable for use in aqueous solution in the pH range of 3.0–9.5. It has a fast response time of 10 s and can be used for at least 1 month without any considerable divergence in potential. The selectivity coefficients for Cs+ ion with respect to ammonium, alkali, alkaline earth and some selected transition metal ions were determined and showed a superior selectivity over Li+, Na+ and alkaline earth metal ions. The new electrode was applied for determination of Cs+ in spiked tap water. The electrode was also used as indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of Cs+ with sodium tetraphenyl borate.  相似文献

A poly(vinyl chloride) membrane sensor based on oxalic acid bis (cyclohexylidene hydrazide) as membrane carrier was prepared and investigated as a Cr(III)‐selective electrode. The electrode reveals a Nernstian behavior (slope 19.8±0.4 mV decade?1) over a wide Cr(III) ion concentration range 1.0×10?7–1.0×10?2 mol dm?3 with a very low limit of detection (i.e., down to 6.3×10?8 mol dm?3). The potentiometric response of the sensor is independent of the pH of the test solution in the pH range 1.7–6.5. The electrode possesses advantage of very fast response, relatively long lifetime and especially good selectivity to wide variety of other cations. The sensor was used as an indicator electrode, in the potentiometric titration of chromium ion and in the determination of Cr(III) in waste water and alloy samples.  相似文献

Fullerence C60‐cryptand 22 was prepared and successfully applied as the electric carrier in the PVC electrode membrane of a bifunctional ion‐selective electrode for cations, e.g., Ag+ ions as well as anions, e.g., I? ions. The bifunctional ion‐selective electrode based on C60‐cryptand 22 can be applied as a Silver (Ag+) ion selective electrode with an internal electrode solution of 10?3 M AgNO3 in water (pH = 6.3), or as an Iodide (I?) ion selective electrode with an acidic internal electrode solution of 10?4 M KI(aq) (pH = 2) in which the cryptand 22 is protonated, and the C60‐cryptand 22 is changed to C60‐Cryptand22–H+ and becomes an anionic electro‐carrier to absorb the I? ion. The Ag+ ion selective electrode based on C60‐cryptand 22 gave a linear response with a near‐Nernstian slope (59.5 mV decade?1) within the concentration range 10?1‐10?3 M Ag+(aq). The Ag+ ion electrode exhibited comparatively good selectivity for silver ions, over other transition‐metal ions, alkali and alkaline earth metal ions. The Ag+ ion selective electrode with good stability and reproducibility was successfully used for the titration of Ag+(aq) with Cl? ions. The Iodide (I?) Ion selective electrode based on protonated C60–cryptand22‐H+ also showed a linear response with a nearly Nernstian slope (58.5 mV decade?1) within 10?1 ‐ 10?3 M I? (aq) and exhibited good selectivity for I? ions and had small selectivity coefficients (10?2–10?3) for most of other anions, e.g., F? , OH?, CH3COO?, SO42?, CO32?, CrO42?, Cr2O72? and PO43? ions.  相似文献

Abstract

This work deals with the study of the diffusion of Cl? ion through pure unblended polyvinylchloride (PVC) membranes of different thickness. Several PVC -tetrahydrofuran ratios and also different internal diameter glass disks have been used to change the thickness of the membrane. A chloride ion selective electrode also constructed in the laboratory is used as the detector. The electrode behaviour was studied by running up a calibration graph prior to membrane positioning. A mean slope of 57 ±1 mV/log.C at 28.0 ± 0.5 °C was obtained and the range of potential values were then known. The detector was very well washed and immediately a membrane was placed directly on its surface and assembled to a rotating disk electrode in order to get a diffusion cell. The receiving compartment in this system has a negligible volume. Therefore, the response of the chloride ion selective electrode is directly proportional to the flux of material through the membrane rather than to the receiving compartment concentration. An almost linear relationship between the Cl? ion concentration in the range 0.0010 – 0.10 M and its flux through the unblended PVC membrane was found. The chloride ion flux through the PVC membrane in solutions with the ion strength adjusted to 0.1 M was twice to that value obtained without ion strength adjustor (ISA) in the solution. Average rate transport in the range 3.5?10?7 to 9.6?10?7 mol/s Cl? was found at a rotation speed of 1280 rpm.  相似文献

Five recently synthesized macrocyclic diamides were investigated to characterize their ability as beryllium ion carriers in potentiometric PVC‐membrane electrodes. The electrodes based on 1,15‐diaza‐3,4;12,13‐dibenzo‐5,8,11‐trioxabicyclo[13,2,2] heptadecane‐2,14‐dione exhibited a Nernstian response for Be2+ ion over wide concentration ranges (from 3.0×10?6 to 3.0×10?2 M for polymeric membrane electrode, PME, and from 5.0×10?7 to 2.0×10?2 M for coated glassy carbon electrode, CGCE) and very low detection limits (2.0 ×10?6 M for PME and 4.0×10?7 M for (CGCE). The electrodes possess low resistances, fast responses, satisfactory reproducibilities and, most importantly, good selectivities relative to a variety of other common cations. The potentiometric response of the electrodes is independent of pH of test solution in the pH range of 4.0–7.5. The proposed sensors were used to determine beryllium ion in water samples.  相似文献

Four Schiff base complexes of different metal ions, M=Cr(III), Mn(III), Fe(III), and Co(III), were studied to characterize their ability as sulfate ion carriers in carbon paste electrode (CPE). The modified CPE electrode with Schiff base complex of Cr(III), N,N′‐ethylenebis(5‐hydroxysalicylideneiminato) chromium(III) Chloride, showed good response characteristics to SO42? ion. The proposed electrode exhibits a Nernstian slope of 28.9±0.4 mV per decade for SO42? ion over a wide concentration range from 1.5×10?6?4.8×10?2 M, with a detection limit of 9.0×10?7 M. The CPE electrode manifested advantages of relatively fast response time, suitable reproducibility and life time and, most important, good potentiometric selectivity relative to a wide variety of other common inorganic anions. The potentiometric response of the electrode is independent of the pH of the test solution in the pH range 4.0–9.0. The proposed electrode was used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of sulfate with Ba2+ ion, the determination of zinc in zinc sulfate tablet and also determination of sulfate content of a mineral water sample.  相似文献

A Pb2+ ion selective membrane electrode based on poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) Zr(IV) monothiophosphate composite cation exchange material was fabricated using solution casting method. The effect of membrane composition on the proton exchange capacity was investigated by using varying amounts of electroactive material. The membrane with 250 mg of electroactive material and 10 µL of plasticiser exhibited higher proton conductivity. The optimised membrane composition was used for the fabrication of ion selective membrane electrode which exhibited typical Nernstian response towards Pb2+ ions in the concentration range 20.70 gL?1–20.7 µgL?1 (1 × 10–1–1 × 10–7 mol L?1) with a sub-Nernstian slope of 27.429 mV per decade change in Pb2+ ion concentration. The response time of the electrode under study for Pb2+ ions was found to be 11 s and the electrode can be used for 120 days without any considerable divergence in response potential. It can also be successfully used in the pH range from 3.0 to 6.5. It was found selective for Pb2+ ions in the presence of various monovalent, divalent and trivalent interfering metal ions. It was also employed as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of Pb2+ ions using ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, disodium salt, as a titrant.  相似文献

Abstract

The metal chelates of o-phenanthroline, a, a′-dipyridyl or bathophenanthroline were used as the ion exchanger in the liquid membrane of the perchlorate ion-selective electrode. The electrode with a nitrobenzene membrane containing tris(bathophenanthroline)ferrous perchlorate is the highest sensitive one and gives a linear Nernstian response up to about 1 × 10 ?5 M perchlorate. The membrane electrode having the ferrous ion-chelate of o-phenanthroline as an ion exchanger shows an excellent selectivity for perchlorate ion over nitrate or iodide Ion. The effects of the chelate concentration in the membrane and the central metal species of the chelate are examined on the electrode performance.  相似文献

A novel PVC membrane sensor for bisacodyl based on bisacodyl‐phosphotungstate ion pair complex was prepared. The influence of membrane composition (i.e. percent of PVC, plasticizer, and ion‐pair complex), pH of test solution and foreign cations on the electrode performance were investigated. The optimized membrane demonstrates Nernstian response (60.3 ± 2.1 mV per decade) for bisacodyl cations over a wide linear range from 8.0 × 10?5 to 5.0 × 10?3 M at 25 °C. The potentiometric response is independent from the pH of the solution in the pH range of 1.5–3.5. The proposed sensor has the advantages of easy preparation, good selectivity, fast response time, and small interferences from hydrogen ions. It was successfully used for determination of bisacodyl in tablets, and the results obtained with the electrode were in good agreement with the official chromatographic method.  相似文献
