We calculate the next-to-leading order QCD corrections in the MS scheme to the coefficient functions in an operator product expansion of the amplitude T(q2, p2) for the process γ1(q) + γ1(p) → helicity-zero, flavour non-singlet meson in which ?q2 is large and ?p2 ? 0. For an asymptotic wave function the complete O(αs) correction for a pseudoscalar meson is about 16% for p2 = 0 and αs = 0.3; most of this correction can be removed by using a modified evolution equation for the wave function, leaving a correction of about 7%. For large p2 the complete O(αs) correction for a pseudoscalar meson is about 10%. We discuss how our results can be combined with similar calculations for the pion form factor Fπ(Q2) to give a prediction: Fπ(Q2) = s(Q2)Tπ2(q2, 0)(1 + s) that is independent of the as yet unknown two-loop anomalous dimension matrix.  相似文献

It is shown that analytic properties of standard QCD perturbation theory contradict known spectral properties and contain, in particular, infrared-generated Landau ghost poles and cuts. As an outcome, a rigorous background perturbation theory is developed and its analytic properties are shown to be in agreement with general requirements. In the limiting case of large N c, where QCD amplitudes contain only pole singularities, the strong coupling constant α s(Q 2) is shown to be a meromorphic function of external momenta as well. Some simple models and examples are given where nonperturbative β function and α s(Q 2) can be written explicitly. The general form of amplitudes at large N c is given in the framework of background perturbation theory, and its correspondence with standard perturbation theory at highmomenta is demonstrated in the example of e + e ? annihilation. For timelike momenta, the background coupling constant differs drastically from the standard one, but the background series averaged over energy intervals has the same (AF) behavior at high momenta in the Euclidean and in the Minkowskian region.  相似文献

The significance of the lowest-order QCD prediction for the annihilations of heavy quark-antiquark bound states is analyzed. The calculation of the leading strong radiative corrections to the hadronic versus electromagnetic annihilation rate ratio R of pseudoscalar quarkonium is presented. In terms of the coupling constant αs, as defined in the minimal subtraction scheme, we find R = R(0)(1 + 22.14αs/π). The physical significance of this result is discussed by comparing it with the calculation of the non-leading effects in αs on the scaling violations in deep inelastic scattering. A bad convergence of the relative perturbative expansion is found, demanding for its safe application a value of the relevant momentum definitely higher than that of charmonium physics.  相似文献

Using data collected from 1992 to 1995 with the ALEPH detector at LEP, a measurement of the colour factor ratios C A/C F and T F /C F and the strong coupling constant α s = C F α s(MZ)/(2π) has been performed by fitting theoretical predictions simultaneously to the measured differential two-jet rate and angular distributions in four-jet events. The result is found to be in excellent agreement with QCD, {fx4-1} Fixing C A/C F and T F/C F to the QCD values permits a determination of α s(MZ) and η f, the number of active flavours. With this measurement the existence of a gluino with mass below 6.3 GeV/c2 is excluded at 95% confidence level.  相似文献

A detailed analysis is made within perturbative QCD of the decays into gluon jets of P-wave and S-wave quarkonia (JPC = 0++, 1++, 2++, 1+? and 0?+, 1??). For all those states we compute to leading non-trivial order in αs the conventional fraction f(?, δ) of the jet-like hadronic final states, characterized by the back-to-back cone of half angle δ, in which all but a small fraction ? of the total energy is emitted. To the same order we give also the average values of thrust momenta and spherocity distributions.  相似文献

The aim of the present paper is to discuss the behaviour of entropy of physical systems undergoing time evolution. We discuss the case of an infinite-dimensional separable Hilbert space H where the entropy of a microstate ? is given by the formula s(?) = ?Tr(?ln?). Information about a physical system is given by the mean values Tr(?Ai) = m, i = 1, …, N, of N self-adjoint (not necessarily bounded) operators Ai.  相似文献

The symmetry breaking corrections to the pion?Cbaryon couplings vanish to first order in 1/N c, where N c is the number of colours. Loop graphs with octet and decuplet intermediate states cancel to various orders in N c as a consequence of the large-N c spin-flavour symmetry of QCD baryons. The baryon axial vector current is computed at one-loop order in heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory in the large N c limit. 1/N c corrections in the case of g A in QCD are presented here.  相似文献

We calculate, at order αs, certain Wilson coefficients that relate to the PT spread of quark jets in QCD. Also included is a calculation of the quark decay function d(z) in a spacelike axial gauge.  相似文献

We discuss the procedure of different partitions in the finite set of N integer numbers and construct generic formulas for a bijective map of real numbers s y , where y = 1, 2,…, N, N = \( \underset{k=1}{\overset{n}{\varPi}}{X}_k, \) and X k are positive integers, onto the set of numbers s(y(x 1, x 2,…, x n )). We give the functions used to present the bijective map, namely, y(x 1, x 2, …, x n ) and x k (y) in an explicit form and call them the functions detecting the hidden correlations in the system. The idea to introduce and employ the notion of “hidden gates” for a single qudit is proposed. We obtain the entropic-information inequalities for an arbitrary finite set of real numbers and consider the inequalities for arbitrary Clebsch–Gordan coefficients as an example of the found relations for real numbers.  相似文献

The singlet contribution to theg 1(x, Q 2) structure function is calculated in the double-logarithmic approximation of perturbative QCD in the regionx?1. Double logarithmic contributions of the type (α s ln2(1/x)) k which are not included in the GLAP evolution equations are shown to give a power-like rise at small-x which is much stronger than the extrapolation of the GLAP expressions. The dominant contribution is due to the gluons which, in contrast to the unpolarized case, mix with the fermions also in the regionx?1. The two main reasons why the small-x behavior of the double logarithmic approximation is so much stronger than the usual GLAP evolution are: the larger kinematical region of integration (in particular, no ordering in transverse momentum) and the contributions from non-ladder diagrams.  相似文献

We discuss in detail the use of the structure function F3(x, Q2) of deep-inelastic neutrino scattering for testing quantum chromodynamics. QCD is entirely consistent with all data. However, we show that higher-twist (order 1Q2) contributions, which are commonly neglected, can have a dramatic impact on interpretation of this result. At present the data are not accurate enough to determine the magnitudes of these 1Q2 contributions within the context of QCD. Furthermore, the possible presence of higher-twist terms makes it impossible to unambiguously detect the logarithmic Q2 dependence and anomalous dimensions which distinguish QCD from hypothetical alternative theories. As a result, more precise data with higher Q2 are needed to provide definitive tests of QCD. The corrections of second-order in αs introduce fewer complications for testing QCD, and provide a useful context for understanding critical ambiguities in the definitions of αs and Λ.  相似文献

We prove the existence of stationary states for nonlinear Dirac equations of the form (E) $$i\sum\limits_{\mu = 0}^3 {\gamma ^\mu \partial _\mu \psi - M\psi + F\left( {\bar \psi \psi } \right)\psi = 0,} $$ whereM>0 andF is a singular self-interaction. In particular, in the model case whereF(s)=?s , for some 0<α<1, and for every ω>M, there exists a solution of (E) of the form ψ(t, x)=e iωt?(x), wherex 0=t andx=(x 1,x 2,x 3), such that ? has compact support. IF 0<α<1/3, then ? is of classC 1. If 1/3<α<1, then ? is continuously differentiable, except on some sphere {|x|=R}, where |??| is infinite.  相似文献

The four experiments, ALEPH, DELPHI, L3 and OPAL at LEP, have performed a large number of precise measurements to test Quantum Chromodynamics. The strong coupling constant has been measured with high precision:α s (Mz) = 0.123±0.004. The coupling constant has been found to be independent of quark flavour. The running ofα s has been demonstrated by the data. Second order QCD matrix element calculations have been tested from several measured distributions in 3-jet and 4-jet events. These distributions give evidence of the vector nature of the gluon and provide measurements of the QCD colour factors. The hadronic distributions are well reproduced by QCD Monte Carlo programs as well as by analytical calculations with soft gluon coherence effects.  相似文献

High energy electron-proton colliders open new kinematical domains for the investigation of scaling violations in nucleon structure functions. Focussing on HERA as a definite study case we explore the precision which can be expected in determinations of the QCD scale parameter Λ and the running coupling constant α s (Q 2). Our results provide a quantitative basis for discussions of the possibilities and requirements of QCD tests in inclusive deep inelastic scattering at HERA energies.  相似文献

We calculate the supersymmetric O(αs) QCD corrections to the cross section e+e → q̃ij (i, j = 1,2) within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. We pay particular attention to the case of the left-right squark mixing and to the renormalization of the mixing angle. The corrections due to gluino exchange turn out to be smaller than those due to gluon exchange, but they can be significant at higher energies, even for a gluino mass of a few hundred GeV.  相似文献

By means of a recently proposed Monte Carlo procedure for computing QCD multi-jet finals states in the leading-logarithm approximation, we calculate the effects of multi-emission on the hadronic final state in electron-positron annihilation. In particular, we present quantitative predictions for the growth with energy of the average multiplicity, which increases faster than log W, and for the average transverse momentum, for which ee find 〈pT2〉 ∝ αs(W2) W, in contrast with the ∝ αs(W2) W2 behaviour expected in lowest perturbative order calculations.  相似文献

In perturbative QCD, for the inclusive cross section for the scattering of two coloured particles, we identify graphs which contribute to the general leading order αs(αs lnλ)n of uncancelled IR divergences, and we sum these contributions (λ is the IR cut-off). The work is done in the Coulomb gauge; an appendix discusses the Feynman gauge.  相似文献

A number of authors have investigated mass inequalities for mesons and baryons in QCD. These provide rigorous non-perturbative constraints on the mass spectrum. Similar inequalities for glueballs are investigated. For nonzero spin J, in the large-Nc approximation, mJmJ+ is found. (For J = 0, the existence of a gluon condensate can modify this statement.) There are also constraints on how fast mJ can grow with J. For example, for mJ = a + bJα, 0 ⩽ α ⩽ 1 is found, a result consistent with Regge behaviour.  相似文献
