We report precision transverse fieldSR measurements of the internal field distribution in the vortex state of crystalline YBa2Cu3O6.95. A novel low background apparatus was used to study a mosaic sample of three high quality single crystals (Tc=93.3K). The observed frequency spectra in magnetic fields of 5kG and 15 kG applied along the c-axis have the characteristic features expected for a regular vortex lattice with some additional broadening. From a preliminary analysis we find that [(0)/(T)]2 has a linear temperature coefficient forT<30 K. Such a term is inconsistent with simple s-wave pairing in the superconducting state. These results support recent microwave measurements of(T) on similar crystals in zero applied field but differ significantly from previousSR reports on sintered powders and crystals with lower Tc.This research was supported by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.  相似文献

We have measured the transport critical current densityJ cof sintered YBa2Cu3O7, in various applied fields up to 185 Oe at 77 K. We find a sharp decay ofJ cwith magnetic field. We show that this sharp decay is consistent with the low field hysteresis results of Groveret al. We argue that the observed field dependence is not caused by intragranular weak links.  相似文献

57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility and powder x-ray-diffraction measurements were used to study superconductivity and magnetic order in YBa2(Cu1?xFex)4O8+δ. Tc is decreasing with x, disappearing for x>xc≈0.04. For xc iron substitutes Cu, predominantly in the Cu(1) site exhibiting a single quadrupole Mössbauer spectrum at 90 K. For x>xc magnetic order is observed in the Cu(2) site, TN=380 (5) K for x=0.1 and Heff (Cu(2), 4.2 K)=510(2) kOe. However, the most surprising discovery is that for x=0.025, for which Tc=27(2) K, the Fe in the Cu(1) site orders magnetically at TN=30(2) K and Heff (Cu(1), 4.2 K)=461(2) kOe. The coexistence and competition between superconductivity and magnetic order in the Cu(1) and Cu(2) sites in YBa2Cu4O8 are discussed in terms of the previously observed phase diagrams for Y1?xPrxBa2(Cu1?yFey)3Oz.  相似文献

We have measured the temperature (T) dependence of the transverse relaxation rate (T G –1 ) of the Cu(1) nuclear spin in YBa2Cu3O6.98 (T c=92 K) and YBa2Cu4O8 (T c=82 K). From the scaling ratio ofT G –2 (Cu1) toT G –2 (Cu2), we have estimated the strength of a covalent bonding between the CuO2 plane and the CuO chain to be B0.38×A zz. The experimentalT G –1 (Cu1) in YBa2Cu4O8 was of the same order of magnitude as the estimated one fromT G –1 (Cu2). These results appear to indicate that the electrons in the CuO2 plane fairly spread out of the plane in both compounds.  相似文献

A sintered bulk sample of YBa2Cu3O7 has been investigated resistively and inductively with respect to its resistivity (B, T), upper critical fieldB c2 (T), and current carrying capabilityj c (B, T). The inductive measurements were repeated after powdering the sample to a maximum particle size of 60 m. Results show that the intrinsic-intragrain properties as approximately revealed by the powder measurements, are severely masked in bulk measurements by the intergrain weak-link structure. As an example, the current densityj c (0 T, 4.2 K) in the powdered YBa2Cu3O7 has a value of 4·106 A/cm2, which is about three orders of magnitude higher than in the bulk material. The high values of the intragrainj c are probably due to pinning at twin boundaries. — Besidesj c the normal state resistivity just aboveT c , n , is influenced by the interconnecting structure, both properties being directly related: a smaller n leads to a higherj c in bulk samples. — The upper critical field shows a pronounced anisotropyB c2 |/B c2 of about 20 to 30, whereB c2 |=330 T is the extrapolated upper critical field at zero temperature for the field orientation parallel to the (Cu–O)-planes. — For the time being, theB c2 anisotropy and the weak-link structure of sintered bulk samples are the main obstacles for high field applications.  相似文献

We report the first direct observation of the oxygen-isotope ((16)O/(18)O) effect on the in-plane penetration depth lambda(ab) in a nearly optimally doped YBa(2)Cu(3)O(7-delta) film using the novel low-energy muon-spin rotation technique. Spin-polarized low-energy muons are implanted in the film at a known depth z beneath the surface and process in the local magnetic field B(z). This feature allows us to measure directly the profile B(z) of the magnetic field inside the superconducting film in the Meissner state and to make a straightforward determination of lambda(ab). A substantial isotope shift Delta lambda(ab)/lambda(ab)=2.8(1.0)% at 4 K is observed, implying that the in-plane effective supercarrier mass m*(ab) is oxygen-isotope dependent with Delta m*(ab)/m*(ab)=5.5(2.0)%. These results are in good agreement with magnetization measurements on powder samples.  相似文献
