The synthesis and characterizations of a family of isomorphous [Mn(III)(2)M(III)(4)L(2)(μ(4)-O)(2)(N(3))(2)(CH(3)O)(2)(CH(3)OH)(4)(NO(3))(2)]·2H(2)O (M = Y(1), Gd(2), Tb(3), Dy(4)) are reported, where H(4)L = N,N'-dihydroxyethyl-N,N'-(2-hydroxy-4,5-dimethylbenzyl)ethylenediamine. They were obtained from the reactions of H(4)L with M(NO(3))(3)·6H(2)O, Mn(ClO(4))(2)·6H(2)O, NaN(3) and NEt(3) in a 1?:?1?:?1?:?2?:?2 molar ratio. The core structure consists of a Mn(2)M(4) unit. The four M(III) ions that are held together by two μ(4)-bridging oxygen atoms form a butterfly M(4) moiety. The M(4) core is further connected to the two five-coordinate trigonal-bipyramidal Mn(III) ions via one μ(4)-O(2-), two alkyloxo and one methoxo triple bridges. Magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate the presence of intramolecular antiferromagnetic interactions in complex 2, and overall intramolecular ferromagnetic interactions in complexes 3 and 4. The alternating current (AC) magnetic susceptibility studies revealed that complexes 3 and 4 showed frequency-dependent out-of-phase signals, which indicates that they exhibit slow relaxation of the magnetization.  相似文献

New mononuclear [Mn(HL)3].2CHCl3 (H2L = 2-salicyloylhydrazono-1,3-dithiolane) and binuclear Mn2(mu-OCH3)2(HL)4 manganese (III) complexes have been synthesized and structurally characterized. The binuclear complex, described in this communication, displays very strong intramolecular ferromagnetic coupling (J = + 19.7 cm-1), which is confirmed by DFT calculations. The negative sign of the axial magnetic anisotropy parameter, which is crucial for a possible single molecule magnet behavior and for any future use of this complex in more complex extended architectures, is also unambiguously determined by careful fit of magnetization curves and by DFT calculations.  相似文献

Two new polynuclear oxo/hydroxo-bridged polynuclear gallium(III) aqua complexes are obtained upon treatment of Ga(3+)(aq) with pyridine: the supramolecular compound of macrocyclic cavitand cucurbit[6]uril with gallium complex containing 32 metal atoms [Ga(32)(mu(4)-O)(12)(mu(3)-O)(8)(mu(2)-O)(7)(mu(2)-OH)(39)(H(2)O)(20)](PyH subsetC(36)H(36)N(24)O(12))(3)(NO(3))(6).53H(2)O (1) and the tridecanuclear complex [Ga(13)(mu(3)-OH)(6)(mu(2)-OH)(18)(H(2)O)(24)](NO(3))(15).12H(2)O (2). It follows that two modes of nucleation exist when Ga(3+)(aq) is hydrolyzed: one around the tetrahedral GaO(4) units (complex 1) and the other around the octahedral GaO(6) units (complex 2). This is the first time that polynuclear oxo/hydroxo-bridged aqua complexes of Ga(III) have been isolated without the use of other ligands to control or block olygomerization.  相似文献

Two cyano-bridged tetranuclear complexes composed of Mn(III) salen (salen = N,N'-ethylene bis(salicylideneiminate)) and hexacyanometalate(III) (M = Fe, Cr) in a stoichiometry of 3:1 have been selectively synthesized using {NH2(n-C12H25)2}3[M(III)(CN)6] (M(III) = Fe, Cr) starting materials: [{Mn(salen)(EtOH)}3{M(CN)6}] (M = Fe, 1; Cr, 2). Compounds 1 and 2 are isostructural with a T-shaped structure, in which [M(CN)6]3- assumes a meridional-tridentate building block to bind three [Mn(salen)(EtOH)]+ units. The strong frequency dependence and observation of hysteresis on the field dependence of the magnetization indicate that 1 is a single-molecule magnet.  相似文献

Reactions of Schiff bases (H2apahR) derived from acetophenone and acid hydrazides, triethylamine and [Ru(PPh3)3Cl2] (1:2:1 mole ratio) in methanol provide cyclometallated ruthenium(III) complexes of formula trans-[Ru(apahR)(PPh3)2Cl] in 74–81% yields. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, spectroscopic (infrared, electronic and EPR) and electrochemical measurements. X-ray crystal structures of two representative complexes have been determined. In each complex, the metal centre is in distorted octahedral CNOClP2 coordination sphere assembled by the C,N,O-donor meridionally spanning apahR2?, the chloride and the two mutually trans-oriented PPh3 molecules. All the complexes are one-electron paramagnetic (μeff. = 1.85–1.98 μB) and display rhombic EPR spectra in frozen (120 K) dichloromethane-toluene (1:1) solution. Electronic spectra of the complexes display several absorptions within 470–270 nm due to ligand-to-metal charge transfer and ligand centred transitions. The complexes are redox active and display a Ru(III)  Ru(II) reduction and a Ru(III)  Ru(IV) oxidation in the potential ranges ?0.66 to ?0.70 V and 0.75 to 0.80 V (vs. Ag/AgCl), respectively.  相似文献

The ditopic ligand PyPzOAPz (N-[(Z)-amino(pyrazin-2-yl)methylidene]-5-methyl-1-(pyridin-2-yl)-1H-pyrazole-3-carbohydrazonic acid) was synthesized by in situ condensation of methyl imino pyrazine-2-carboxylate with 5-methyl-1-(2-pyridyl) pyrazole-3-carbohydrazide. In this work we have also used two of our earlier ligands PzCAP (5-methyl-N-[(1E)-1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethylidene]-1H-pyrazole-3-carbohydrazonic acid) (Dalton Trans., 2009, 8215) and PzOAP (N-[(Z)-amino(pyridin-2-yl)methylidene]-5-methyl-1H-pyrazole-3-carbohydrazonic acid) (Dalton Trans., 2007, 1229). These ligands PzCAP, PzOAP and PyPzOAPz were made to react with Mn(ClO(4))(2)·6H(2)O to produce three pentanuclear Mn(II) clusters [Mn(5)(PzCAP)(6)](ClO(4))(4) (1), [Mn(5)(PzOAP)(6)](ClO(4))(4) (2) and [Mn(5)(PyPzOAPz)(6)](ClO(4))(4) (3). These complexes have been characterized by X-ray structural analyses and variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements. All complexes have a pentanuclear core with trigonal bipyramidal arrangement of Mn(II) atoms, where, the axial metal centers have a N(3)O(3) chromophore and the equatorial centers have N(4)O(2) with an octahedral arrangement. These Mn(5)(II) clusters 1, 2 and 3 show the presence of antiferromagnetic coupling within the pentanuclear manganese(II) core (J = -2.95, -3.19 and -3.00 cm(-1) respectively). Density functional theory calculations and continuous shape measurement (CShM) studies have been performed on these complexes to provide a qualitative theoretical interpretation of the antiferromagnetic behaviour shown by them. The pentanuclear Mn(II) cluster (1) on reaction with Cu(NO(3))(2)·6H(2)O in 1:1 mole proportion in CH(3)OH:H(2)O (60?:?40) forms a homoleptic [2 × 2] tetranuclear Cu(4)(II) grid [Cu(4)(PzCAP)(4)(NO(3))(2)](NO(3))(2)·8H(2)O (4). The same Cu(4)(II) grid is also obtained from a direct reaction between the ditopic ligand PzCAP with Cu(NO(3))(2)·6H(2)O in 1:1 mole proportion. This conversion of a cluster to a grid is a novel observation.  相似文献

On the basis of high-spin metal-cyanide clusters of Mn(III)(6)M(III) (M = Cr, Fe, Co), three one-dimensional (1D) chain complexes, [Mn(salen)](6)[Cr(CN)(6)](2)·6CH(3)OH·H(2)O (1), [Mn(5-CH(3))salen)](6)[Fe(CN)(6)](2)·2CH(3)CN·10H(2)O (2), and [Mn(5-CH(3))salen)](6)[Co(CN)(6)](2)·2CH(3)CN·10H(2)O (3) [salen = N,N'-ethylenebis(salicylideneiminato) dianion], have been synthesized and characterized structurally as well as magnetically. Complexes 2 and 3 are isomorphic but slightly different from complex 1. All three complexes contain a 1D chain structure which is comprised of alternating high-spin metal-cyanide clusters of [Mn(6)M](3+) and a bridging group [M(CN)(6)](3-) in the trans mode. Furthermore, the three complexes all exhibit extended 3D supramolecular networks originating from short intermolecular contacts. Magnetic investigation indicates that the coupling mechanisms are intrachain antiferromagnetic interactions for 1 and ferromagnetic interactions for 2, respectively. Complex 3 is a magnetic dilute system due to the diamagnetic nature of Co(III). Further magnetic investigations show that complexes 1 and 2 are dominated by the 3D antiferromagnetic ordering with T(N) = 7.2 K for 1 and 9.5 K for 2. It is worth noting that the weak frequency-dependent phenomenon of AC susceptibilities was observed in the low-temperature region in both 1 and 2, suggesting the presence of slow magnetic relaxations.  相似文献

[Cu(SRaaiNR′)(PPh3)X] complexes are synthesized by the reaction of CuX (X = Cl, Br, I), triphenylphosphine and 1-alkyl-2-[(o-thioalkyl)phenylazo]imidazole (SRaaiNR′). The single crystal X-ray structure of [Cu(SEtaaiNH)(PPh3)I] (SEtaaiNH = 2-[(o-thioethyl)phenylazo]imidazole) shows a distorted tetrahedral geometry of the copper center with bidentate, N(azo), N(imidazole) chelation of SEtaaiNH and coordination from PPh3 and iodine. These complexes show a trans-to-cis isomerization upon irradiation with UV light. The reverse transformation, cis-to-trans isomerization, is very slow with visible light irradiation and is thermally accessible. The quantum yields (?t→c) of the trans-to-cis isomerization of [Cu(SRaaiNR′)(PPh3)X] are lower than the free ligand values. This is due to the increased mass and rotor volume of the complexes compared to the free ligand data. The rate of isomerization follows the order: [Cu(SRaaiNR′)(PPh3)Cl] < [Cu(SRaaiNR′)(PPh3)Br] < [Cu(SRaaiNR′)(PPh3)I]. The activation energy (Ea) of the cis-to-trans isomerization is calculated by a controlled temperature reaction. DFT computation of representative complexes has been used to determine the composition and energy of the molecular levels.  相似文献

The reactions of Vaska’s complex [IrCl(CO)(PPh3)2] with 2-(coumaryl-6-azo)imidazole (CZ-H) and its derivatives (CZ-X) have synthesized [Ir(CZ)(CO)(PPh3)2] and [Ir(CZ-X)(CO)(PPh3)2]. All the complexes have been characterized by FT-IR, UV-Vis, 1H NMR and FAB-MS spectroscopy. The structural confirmation has been done in one case, by a single crystal X-ray diffraction study, which shows a distorted square pyramidal geometry around the central Ir atom. The complexes are emissive at room temperature. The cyclic voltammetry of the complexes shows a metal centered irreversible oxidation and ligand centered quasireversible reduction couples. To get an insight into the electronic structure, absorption spectra and electrochemical properties, detailed calculations on all three complexes have been performed at the DFT level.  相似文献

Several cyanogold complexes react with the binuclear nickel complex [(Ni(dien)(H(2)O))(2)(mu-ox)](PF(6))(2).2H(2)O to give the compounds [(Ni(dien)(H(2)O))(2)(mu-ox)]Br(2) (1), [(Ni(dien)(Au(CN)(2)))(2)(mu-ox)] (2), and [(Ni(dien))(2)(mu-ox)(mu-Au(CN)(4))](PF(6)) (3) (dien, diethilenetriamine; ox, oxalate). In the case of compounds 2 and 3, water displacement by the corresponding cyanogold complex takes place, whereas compound 1 is formed by a substitution of the anion. The crystal structures of compounds 1 and 2 present a 2D arrangement where the layers are connected by van der Waals forces (1) or N-H.Ntbd1;C hydrogen bonds (2), where each binuclear complex is hydrogen bonded to its neighbors, whereas compound 3 presents a novel structure where the tetracyanoaurate acts as a bridging ligand to give a polymeric compound. Magnetic studies of these compounds reveal an antiferromagnetic behavior. Finally, density functional theory (DFT) calculations have been performed on isolated models of compounds 2 and 3 in order to gain some insight about the different behavior of the [Au(CN)(2)](-) and [Au(CN)(4)](-) groups as ligands and proton acceptors in hydrogen bonds.  相似文献

Two Mn(II) complexes are isolated and X-ray characterized, namely, cis-[(L(2))Mn(II)(Cl)(2)] (1) and [(L(3))Mn(II)Cl(OH(2))](ClO(4)) (2(ClO(4))), where L(2) and L(3) are the well-known tetradentate N,N'-dimethyl-N,N'-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine and N,N'-dimethyl-N,N'-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)propane-1,3-diamine ligands, respectively. The crystal structure reveals that whereas the ligand L(2) is in the cis-alpha conformation in complex 1, the ligand L(3) is in the more unusual cis-beta conformation in 2. EPR spectra are recorded on frozen solutions for both complexes and are characteristic of Mn(II) species. Electrochemical behaviors are investigated on acetonitrile solution for both complexes and show that cation 2 exists as closely related Mn(II) species in equilibrium. For both complexes exhaustive bulk electrolyses of acetonitrile solution are performed at oxidative potential in various experimental conditions. In the presence of 2,6-lutidine and after elimination of chloride ligands, the formation of the di-mu-oxo mixed-valent complexes [(L(2))Mn(III)(mu-O)(2)Mn(IV)(L(2))](3+) (3a) and [(L(3))Mn(III)(mu-O)(2)Mn(IV)(L(3))](3+) (4) is confirmed by UV-vis and EPR spectroscopies and cyclic voltammetry. In addition crystals of 4(ClO(4))(3) were isolated, and the X-ray structure reveals the cis-alphaconformation of L(3). In the absence of 2,6-lutidine and without elimination of the exogenous chloride ions, the electrochemical oxidation of 1 leads to the formation of the mononuclear Mn(III) complex, namely, [(L(2))Mn(III)(Cl)(2)](+) (5), as confirmed by UV-vis as well as parallel mode EPR spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. In the same conditions, the electrochemical oxidation of complex 2 is more intricate, and a thorough analysis of EPR spectra establishes the formation of the binuclear mono-mu-oxo mixed-valent [(L(3))ClMn(III)(mu-O)Mn(IV)Cl(L(3))](3+) (6) complexes. Electrochemical conversion of Mn(II) complexes into mixed-valent Mn(2)(III,IV) oxo-bridged complexes in the presence of 2,6-lutidine is discussed. The role of the chloride ligands as well as that of L(3) in the building of oxo bridges is discussed. Differences in behavior between L(2) and L(3) are commented on.  相似文献

[M(SRaaiNR′)Cl3] (M = Rh(III), Ir(III) and SRaaiNR′ = 1-alkyl-2-{(o-thioalkyl)phenylazo}imidazole) complexes are described in this article. The single crystal X-ray structure of one of the complexes, [Rh(SMeaaiNEt)Cl3] (3b), shows a tridentate chelation of SMeaaiNEt via N(imidazole), N(azo) and S(thioether) donor centres. Spectral characterization has been done by IR, UV–Vis and 1H NMR data. The electronic structure, redox properties and spectra are well supported by DFT and TDDFT computation on the complexes.  相似文献

The reaction of [Mn(3)O(O(2)CMe)(6)(py)(3)](ClO(4)) (1; 3Mn(III)) with [Mn(10)O(4)(OH)(2)(O(2)CMe)(8)(hmp)(8)](ClO(4))(4) (2; 10Mn(III)) in MeCN affords the new mixed-valent complex [Mn(21)O(14)(OH)(2)(O(2)CMe)(16)(hmp)(8)(pic)(2)(py)(H(2)O)](ClO(4))(4) (3; 3Mn(II)-18Mn(III); hmp(-) is the anion of 2-(hydroxymethyl)pyridine), with an average Mn oxidation state of +2.85. Complex 3.7MeCN crystallizes in the triclinic space group P. The structure consists of a low symmetry [Mn(21)(micro(4)-O)(4)(micro(3)-O)(12)(micro-O)(16)] core, with peripheral ligation provided by 16 MeCO(2)(-), 8 hmp(-), and 2 pic(-) groups and one molecule each of water and pyridine. The magnetic properties of 3 were investigated by both dc and ac magnetic susceptibility measurements. Fitting of dc magnetization data collected in the 0.1-0.8 T and 1.8-4.0 K ranges gave S = (17)/(2), D approximately -0.086 cm(-)(1), and g approximately 1.8, where S is the molecular spin of the Mn(21) complex and D is the axial zero-field splitting parameter. ac susceptibility studies in the 10-997 Hz frequency range reveal the presence of a frequency-dependent out-of-phase ac magnetic susceptibility (chi(M)' ') signal consistent with slow magnetization relaxation rates. Fitting of dc magnetization decay versus time data to the Arrhenius equation gave a value of the effective barrier to relaxation (U(eff)) of 13.2 K. Magnetization versus applied dc field sweeps exhibited hysteresis. Thus, complex 3 is a new member of the small but growing family of single-molecule magnets.  相似文献

Four linear trinuclear transition metal complexes have been prepared and characterized. The complexes [MII(MeOH)4][FeIII(L)2]2·2MeOH (M = Fe (1) or Ni (2)), [CoII(EtOH)2(H2O)2][FeIII(L)2]2·2EtOH (3), and [MnII(phen)2][MnIII(L)2]2·4MeOH (4) (H2L = ((2-carboxyphenyl)azo)-benzaldoxime, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) possesses a similar synanti carboxylate-bridged structure. The terminal Fe(III) or Mn(III) ions are low spin, and the central M(II) ions are high spin. Magnetic measurements show that antiferromagnetic interactions were present between the adjacent metal ions via the synanti carboxylate bridges. The antiferromagnetic coupling between low-spin Fe(III) and Ni(II) is unusual, which has been tentatively assigned to the structural distortion of Fe(III).  相似文献

Two new complexes, [Ni(HL1)(N3)(μ1,1N3)]2 (1) [HL1: NC5H4CH3C=NNH (C=O) NH2] and [Ni(L2)N3] (2) [HL2: NC5H4HC=N NH(C=S)NH2], have been synthesized by reaction of Ni(OAC)2·4H2O and sodium azide with HL1 and HL2 and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, and UV–vis spectral studies. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction reveals that 1 is dinuclear with nickel(II) in an octahedral environment of NNO donors of HL1, two nitrogens of azide bridges and one nitrogen of terminal azide; 2 is mononuclear containing nickel(II) in a distorted square-planar environment of NNS donors of HL2 and one terminal azide. The structures of 1 and 2 have been optimized by density functional theory. The results of antimicrobial activities of ligands, 1 and 2 demonstrated that HL2 and 2 have good antimicrobial activity in contrast with HL1 and 1, related to the presence of sulfur donor in HL2.  相似文献

This article presents a combined experimental and computational study of [Cu(tppz)(SCN)2], where ttpz stands for 2,3,5,6-tetra-(2-pyridyl)pyrazine. The compound has been studied by IR, UV–Vis spectroscopy, and single crystal X-ray analysis. The geometry around copper atom may be described as a distorted square pyramid. The equatorial plane is defined by three nitrogen atoms of tppz and one nitrogen atom of thiocyanate group. The apical site is occupied by nitrogen atom of the second SCN? ion. The electronic spectrum of [Cu(tppz)(SCN)2] was analyzed, and bands were assigned through the DFT/TDDFT procedures.  相似文献

Seven cyanide-bridged bimetallic complexes have been synthesized by the reaction of [Fe(1-CH3im)(CN)5]2- with Mn(III) Schiff base complexes. Their crystal structure and magnetic properties have been characterized. Five complexes, [Mn2(5-Brsalen)2Fe(CN)5(1-CH3im)] x H2O (1), [Mn2(5-Clsalen)2(H2O)2Fe(CN)5(1-CH3im)] x H2O (2), [Mn2(5-Clsaltn)2(H2O)2Fe(CN)5(1-CH3im)] (3), [Mn2(5-Clsaltmen)2(H2O)2Fe(CN)5(1-CH3im)] x H2O (4), and [Mn2(5-Brsaltmen)2(H2O)2Fe(CN)5(1-CH3im)] x CH3OH (5), are neutral and trinuclear with two [Mn(SB)]+ (SB2- = Schiff base ligands) and one [Fe(1-CH3im)(CN)5]2-. Complex {[Et4N][Mn(acacen)Fe(CN)5(1-CH3im)]}n x 6nH2O (6) is one-dimensional with alternate [Mn(acacen)]+ and [Fe(CN)5(1-CH3im)]2- units. The two-dimensional complex {[Mn4(saltmen)4Fe(CN)5(1-CH3im)]}n[ClO4]2n x 9nH2O (7) consists of Mn4Fe units which are further connected by the phenoxo oxygen atoms. Magnetic studies show the presence of ferromagnetic Mn(III)-Fe(III) coupling in the trinuclear compounds with the magnetic coupling constant (J) ranging from 4.5 to 6.0 cm-1, based on the Hamiltonian H = -2JSFe(SMn(1) + SMn(2)). Antiferromagnetic interaction has been observed in complex 6, whereas ferromagnetic coupling occurs in complex 7. Complexes 6 and 7 exhibit long-range magnetic ordering with a TN value of 4.0 K for 6 and Tc of 4.8 K for 7. Complex 6 shows metamagnetic behavior at 2 K, and complex 7 possesses a hysteresis loop with a coercive field of 500 Oe, typical of a soft ferromagnet.  相似文献
