We perform theoretical investigation of the localized state dynamics in the presence of interaction with the reservoir and Coulomb correlations. We analyze kinetic equations for electron occupation numbers with different spins taking into account high order correlation functions for the localized electrons. We reveal that in the stationary state electron occupation numbers with the opposite spins always have the same value: the stationary state is a “paramagnetic” one. “Magnetic” properties can appear only in the non-stationary characteristics of the single-impurity Anderson model and in the dynamics of the localized electrons second order correlation functions. We found that for deep energy levels and strong Coulomb correlations, relaxation time for initial “magnetic” state can be several orders larger than for “paramagnetic” one. So, long-living “magnetic” moment can exist in the system. We also found non-stationary spin polarized currents flowing in opposite directions for the different spins in the particular time interval.  相似文献

We show that the entanglement (as quantified by the concurrence) and Berry phases of the adiabatic quantum states vanish for a two spin-1/2 system with Dzyaloshinski-Moriya (DM) interaction, while one of the spins is driven by a time-varing rotating magnetic field and the other one is coupled with a strong static magnetic field. The system is described by the Heisenberg XX model and the static field is in the direction of the rotation axis. We also investigate that how the concurrence and Berry phases depend on the DM interaction, coupling coefficient and the static magnetic field. In addition, we show that reversing the sign of the static magnetic field can cause exchange of the Berry phases and entanglement between the adiabatic states. Finally it is shown that each energy level approach causes jumps or cusp-like behaviour in the Berry phases and the concurrences.  相似文献

The transition temperature and paramagnetic susceptibility in the random binary Ising model with a transverse field are obtained. The system is composed of ferro- and antiferromagnetic spins. It is found that ferro- and antiferromagnetic states coexist in some cases.  相似文献

We study a paradigmatic system with long-range interactions: the Hamiltonian mean-field (HMF) model. It is shown that in the thermodynamic limit this model does not relax to the usual equilibrium Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution. Instead, the final stationary state has a peculiar core-halo structure. In the thermodynamic limit, HMF is neither ergodic nor mixing. Nevertheless, we find that using dynamical properties of Hamiltonian systems it is possible to quantitatively predict both the spin distribution and the velocity distribution functions in the final stationary state, without any adjustable parameters. We also show that HMF undergoes a nonequilibrium first-order phase transition between paramagnetic and ferromagnetic states.  相似文献

We study order–disorder transitions in a three-dimensional Ising lattice in which all the spins belonging to the same xy plane have the same degree of disorder, so that the structure can be effectively reduced to a chain of layers. The layers interact with each other up to third neighbours. Employing the mean-field approximation, we find the different configurations that undergo the transition to total disorder in terms of the interaction constants and work out a diagram displaying the possible sequences of modulated phases that can be found when the temperature goes from 0 to the order–disorder transition point. At intermediate temperatures the average values of the spins of the layers for periodic structures are found by solving an equation system. Substitution of these values into the expression of the free energy allows one to determine the most stable structure for each set of interaction constants and for each temperature. The model predicts a transition between two modulated structures with the same wavelength but different unit cells, for suitable values of the interaction constants. The formalism is also applied to substances like UNi2Si2, with only a partial agreement with experiment.  相似文献

Entanglement versus correlations in spin systems   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We consider pure quantum states of N>1 spins or qubits and study the average entanglement that can be localized between two separated spins by performing local measurements on the other individual spins. We show that all classical correlation functions provide lower bounds to this localizable entanglement, which follows from the observation that classical correlations can always be increased by doing appropriate local measurements on the other qubits. We analyze the localizable entanglement in familiar spin systems and illustrate the results on the hand of the Ising spin model, in which we observe characteristic features for a quantum phase transition such as a diverging entanglement length.  相似文献

Godoy et al. (Phys. Rev. B 69, 054428, 2004) presented a study of the magnetic properties of a mixed spin (1/2,1), Ising ferrimagnetic model on a hexagonal lattice without an oscillating magnetic field. They employed dynamic mean-field calculations and Monte Carlo simulations to find the compensation point of the model and to present the phase diagrams. It has been found that the N-type compensation temperature appears only when the intrasublattice interaction between spins in the σ sublattice is ferromagnetic. Moreover, the system only undergoes a second-order phase transition. In this work, we extend the study a dynamic compensation temperature of a mixed spin-1/2 and spin-1 Ising ferrimagnetic system on a hexagonal lattice in the presence of oscillating magnetic field within the framework of dynamic mean-field calculations. We find that the system displays the N-type compensation temperature. We also calculate dynamic phase diagrams in which contain the paramagnetic, ferrimagnetic, nonmagnetic fundamental phases and two different mixed phases, depending on the interaction parameters and oscillating magnetic field. The system also exhibits tricritical and reentrant behaviors.  相似文献

An open ferromagnetic Ashkin-Teller model with spin variables 0, ±1 is studied by standard Monte Carlo simulations on a square lattice in the presence of competing Glauber and Kawasaki dynamics. The Kawasaki dynamics simulates spin-exchange processes that continuously flow energy into the system from an external source. Our calculations reveal the presence, in the model, of tricritical points where first order and second order transition lines meet. Beyond that, several self-organized phases are detected when Kawasaki dynamics become dominant. Phase diagrams that comprise phase boundaries and stationary states have been determined in the model parameters’ space. In the case where spin-phonon interactions are incorporated in the model Hamiltonian, numerical results indicate that the paramagnetic phase is stabilized and almost all of the self-organized phases are destroyed.  相似文献

The dynamic behavior of a two-sublattice spin-1 Ising model with a crystal-field interaction (D) in the presence of a time-varying magnetic field on a hexagonal lattice is studied by using the Glauber-type stochastic dynamics. The lattice is formed by alternate layers of spins σ=1 and S=1. For this spin arrangement, any spin at one lattice site has two nearest-neighbor spins on the same sublattice, and four on the other sublattice. The intersublattice interaction is antiferromagnetic. We employ the Glauber transition rates to construct the mean-field dynamical equations. Firstly, we study time variations of the average magnetizations in order to find the phases in the system, and the temperature dependence of the average magnetizations in a period, which is also called the dynamic magnetizations, to obtain the dynamic phase transition (DPT) points as well as to characterize the nature (continuous and discontinuous) of transitions. Then, the behavior of the total dynamic magnetization as a function of the temperature is investigated to find the types of the compensation behavior. Dynamic phase diagrams are calculated for both DPT points and dynamic compensation effect. Phase diagrams contain the paramagnetic (p) and antiferromagnetic (af) phases, the p+af and nm+p mixed phases, nm is the non-magnetic phase, and the compensation temperature or the L-type behavior that strongly depend on the interaction parameters. For D<2.835 and H0>3.8275, H0 is the magnetic field amplitude, the compensation effect does not appear in the system.  相似文献

We study the “mixed spin” isotropic ladder system having S=1 spins on one leg and S=1/2 spins on the other, with general-type exchange interactions between spins on neighboring rungs. A set of model Hamiltonians with exact ground states in the form of a certain matrix product wave function is obtained. We show that sufficiently strong frustration can lead to exotic singlet ground states with infinite (exponential) degeneracy. We also list a couple of rather simple models with nontrivial ground states, including a model with only bilinear exchange. Received: 2 December 1997 / Accepted: 28 January 1998  相似文献

We study collective behavior of magnetic adatoms randomly distributed on the surface of a topological insulator. Interactions of an ensemble of adatoms are frustrated, as the RKKY-type interactions of two adatom spins depend on the directions of spins relative to the vector connecting them. We show that at low temperatures the frustrated RKKY interactions give rise to two phases: an ordered ferromagnetic phase with spins pointing perpendicular to the surface, and a disordered spin-glass-like phase. The two phases are separated by a quantum phase transition driven by the magnetic exchange anisotropy. The ordered phase breaks time-reversal symmetry spontaneously, driving the surface states into a gapped state, which exhibits an anomalous quantum Hall effect and provides a realization of the parity anomaly. We find that the magnetic ordering is suppressed by potential scattering.  相似文献

Simplified double-exchange model including transfer of the itinerant electrons with spin parallel to the localized spin in the same site and the indirect interaction J of kinetic type between localized spins is comprihensively investigated. The model is exactly solved in infinite dimensions. The exact equations describing the main ordered phases (ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic) are obtained for the Bethe lattice with (z is the coordination number) in analytical form. The exact expression for the generalized paramagnetic susceptibility of the localized-spin subsystem is also obtained in analytical form. It is shown that temperature dependence of the uniform and the staggered susceptibilities has deviation from Curie-Weiss law. Dependence of Curie and Néel temperatures on itinerant-electron concentration is discussed to study instability conditions of the paramagnetic phase. Anomalous temperature behaviour of the chemical potential, the thermopower and the specific heat is investigated near the Curie point. It is found for J=0 that the system is unstable towards temperature phase separation between ferromagnetic and paramagnetic states. A phase separation connected with antiferromagnetic and the paramagnetic phases can occur only at . Zero-temperature phase diagram including the phase separation between ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic states is given. Received 28 May 1999 and Received in final form 14 July 1999  相似文献

We update a one-dimensional chain of Ising spins of length L with algorithms which are parameterized by the probability p for a certain site to get updated in one time step. The result of the update event itself is determined by the energy change due to the local change in the configuration. In this way we interpolate between the Metropolis algorithm at zero temperature when p is of the order of 1/L and L is large, and a synchronous deterministic updating procedure for p=1. As a function of p we observe a phase transition between the stationary states to which the algorithm drives the system. These are non-absorbing stationary states with antiferromagnetic domains for p>p c , and absorbing states with ferromagnetic domains for pp c . This means that above this transition the stationary states have lost any remnants of the ferromagnetic Ising interaction. A measurement of the critical exponents shows that this transition belongs to the universality class of parity conservation.  相似文献

We study properties of the supersolid phase observed for hard-core bosons on the triangular lattice near half-integer filling factor, and the phase diagram of the system at finite temperature. We find that the solid order is always of the (2m, -m, -m) with m changing discontinuously from positive to negative values at half filling, in contrast with phases observed for Ising spins in a transverse magnetic field. At finite temperature we find two intersecting second-order transition lines: one in the 3-state Potts universality class and the other of the Kosterlitz-Thouless type.  相似文献

We investigate the entanglement dynamics of two electronic spins coupled to a bath of nuclear spins for two special cases, one is that two central spins both interact with a common bath, and the other is that one of two spins interacts with a bath. We consider three types of initial states with different correlations between the system and the bath, i.e., quantum correlation, classical correlation, and no-correlation. We show that the initial correlations (no matter quantum correlations or classical correlations) can effectively avoid the occurrence of entanglement sudden death. Irrespective of whether both two spins or only one of the two spins interacts with the bath, the system can gain more entanglement in the process of the time evolution for initial quantum correlations. In addition, we find that the effects of the distribution of coupling constants on entanglement dynamics crucially depend on the initial state of the spin bath.  相似文献

Long-range interacting N-particle systems get trapped into long-living out-of-equilibrium stationary states called quasi-stationary states (QSS). We study here the response to a small external perturbation when such systems are settled into a QSS. In the N → ∞ limit the system is described by the Vlasov equation and QSS are mapped into stable stationary solutions of such equation. We consider this problem in the context of a model that has recently attracted considerable attention, the Hamiltonian mean field (HMF) model. For such a model, stationary inhomogeneous and homogeneous states determine an integrable dynamics in the mean-field effective potential and an action-angle transformation allows one to derive an exact linear response formula. However, such a result would be of limited interest if restricted to the integrable case. In this paper, we show how to derive a general linear response formula which does not use integrability as a requirement. The presence of conservation laws (mass, energy, momentum, etc.) and of further Casimir invariants can be imposed a posteriori. We perform an analysis of the infinite time asymptotics of the response formula for a specific observable, the magnetization in the HMF model, as a result of the application of an external magnetic field, for two stationary stable distributions: the Boltzmann-Gibbs equilibrium distribution and the Fermi-Dirac one. When compared with numerical simulations the predictions of the theory are very good away from the transition energy from inhomogeneous to homogeneous states.  相似文献

We have discovered two novel aspects of the stripe-domain to paramagnetic transition in perpendicularly magnetized Fe films on Cu(100). First, the width of the stripes carrying oppositely oriented spins decreases, close to the transition temperature, with a power law. Second, in a small temperature interval close to the transition temperature, the stripes--which form stationary patterns at low temperatures--become mobile. Various theoretical works have predicted stripe mobility in similar frustrated systems but no direct proof of this phenomenon has been reported so far.  相似文献

We study a stacked triangular lattice Ising model with both intra- and inter-plane antiferromagnetic interactions in a field, by Monte Carlo simulation. We find only one phase transition from a paramagnetic to a partially disordered phase, which is of second order and 3D XY universality class. At low temperatures we identify two highly degenerate phases: at smaller (larger) fields the system shows long-range ordering in the stacking direction (within planes) but not in the planes (stacking direction). Nevertheless, crossovers to these phases do not have a character of conventional phase transitions but rather linear-chain-like excitations.  相似文献

We consider the Ising model on a rooted Cayley tree of order two with nearest neighbor interactions and competing next nearest neighbor interactions restricted to spins belonging to the same branch of the tree. This model was studied by Vannimenus who found a new modulated phase, in addition to the paramagnetic, ferromagnetic, antiferromagnetic phases and a (+ + - -) periodic phase. Vannimenus’s results are based on an analysis of the recurrence equations (relating the partition function of an n ? generation tree to the partition function of its subsystems containing (n ?1) generations) and most results are obtained numerically. In this paper we analytically study the recurrence equations and obtain some exact results: critical temperatures and curves, number of phases, partition function.  相似文献

We use the Gutzwiller variational method to study the ground state phase diagram of the infinite dimensional Hubbard model, paying special attention to features associated with the Gaussian form of the tight binding band density of states. We only consider trial states for which the validity of the Gutzwiller approximation has been proven, i.e., the paramagnetic, ferromagnetic, and two-sublattice antiferromagnetic states. We map out the phase diagram numerically, and give approximate analytic arguments to explain the behaviour in the small-U, and large-U limits. We give two versions of the phase diagram: one restricted to homogeneous phases, and another when phase separation is allowed. In the latter case, a homogeneous antiferromagnetic state is found only at exact half-filling, where the state is also insulating. Off half-filling, four different regions are found: pure paramagnetic, and ferromagnetic states, as well as antiferromagnetic-paramagnetic, and antiferromagnetic-ferromagnetic mixed phases.Dedicated to Professor W.
