The coupled mode equations and coupling coefficients for the resonant nonlinear interaction of three extra-ordinary waves in a hot magnetized plasma are derived by Whitham's method of averaged Lagrangian. The wave vectors of the three waves are taken as noncollinear and perpendicular to the external uniform magnetic field. Of the three waves one is of high frequency mode and the other two are of low frequency mode.  相似文献

Starting from nonlinear evolution equations of a three-dimensional extra-ordinary wavepacket in a magnetized plasma and introducing a correlation function, equations are derived that describe interaction of a coherent low-frequency magneto-acoustic wave with a turbulent spectrum of high frequency extra-ordinary waves. These equations are used to derive the dispersion relation for a low frequency magnetoacoustic wave in the presence of a spectrum of turbulent high frequency extra-ordinary waves. In the narrow spectrum case, it is found that a small but finite spread in the spectrum of turbulence has a stabilizing influence on the instability which exists for vanishing spectral width. In the wide spectrum case, the effect of a weak turbulent spectrum of extra-ordinary waves is to produce a slight shift in frequency of the coherent low frequency magneto-acoustic wave and to damp or excite the wave.  相似文献

The hysteresis transitions between two temperature states of a collisional magnetoplasa due to Joule heating near by the electron gyroresonance are analysed. The propagation of intense extra-ordinary gyroresonant microwave across the magnetic field in a plasma is responsible for such jump-like thermic effects, the wave amplitudes being less than the “characteristic plasma field”. The transversal heat conductivity may lead to formation of spatially periodical temperature profiles in the hysteresis region of wave's intensity; the spatial periods of such profiles are much less than the Joule dissipation length of heating wave. The thermodiffusion, stimulated by temperature lamination, may form the spatial oscillations of magneto-plasma density across the magnetic field.  相似文献

A theoretical study is made on the amplification mechanism of electrostatic Bernstein mode wave in presence of kinetic Alfven wave turbulence in a magnetized plasma on the basis of plasma-maser interaction. It is shown that a test high frequency electrostativ Bernstein mode wave is unstable in the presence of low frequency kinetic Alfven wave turbulence. The growth rate of the Bernstein wave vanishes only in an unmagnetized plasma. Because of the universal existence of the kinetic Alfven waves in large scale plasmas, the results have potential importance in space and astrophysical radiation processes.  相似文献

The problem of ultrasonic wave propagation in narrow Josephson junctions at nonzero temperature has been investigated. Using the derived solution of the nonstationary Fokker-Planck equation, the total current flowing through the narrow Josephson junction is calculated, and the coefficient of the ultrasonic wave passage through the Josephson junction is determined. The singularity of this coefficient is studied in the ultrasound amplification mode associated with the transformation of coherent binding energy of the contact into ultrasonic waves, and the possibility of experimental measurement of the lifetime of the Josephson junction in the metastable state under the conditions of maximum ultrasound amplification by the contact is discussed.  相似文献

We derive new temperature dependent Sellmeier equations for the extra-ordinary and ordinary refractive indices of 0.5% MgO-doped stoichiometric LiTaO3 crystal. The equations are based on quasi phase-matched frequency conversion measurements, as well as on interferometric measurements of the thermal expansion and thermal dispersion. These equations fit experimental data over wide spectral ranges: 0.35–6 μm for the extra-ordinary wave and 0.375–3.75 μm for the ordinary wave, from room temperature up to 200°C. The nonlinear optical measurements set lower-limit values for the d 33, d 22, and d 24 elements of the second-order susceptibility tensor χ (2) of 12.9, 1.54, and 0.46 pm/V, respectively. The interferometric measurements enable one to determine the linear and quadratic expansion coefficients of 1.45762e?5 1/°C, and 2.68608e?8 (1/°C)2, respectively. The Sellmeier equations are in good agreement with previously published data.  相似文献

Compensation of phase distortions of ultrasound beams by means of parametric phase conjugation is visualized. Quasi-plane and focused primary beams were distorted by a polymer aberration layer introduced between the primary wave source and the wave phase conjugator. It is demonstrated acousto-optically that, while the acoustic field is strongly irregular in the area between aberration layer and conjugator, the phase conjugate wave visibly reproduces the primary beams in the area between the layer and the primary wave source. The phenomenon is observed in supercritical mode of parametric amplification when intensity of phase conjugate wave is high enough for manifestations of acoustic nonlinearities in water.  相似文献

Based on hydrodynamic model of plasmas an analytical investigation of frequency modulational interaction between copropagating high frequency pump and acoustic mode and consequent amplification (steady-state and transient) of the modulated waves is carried out in a magnetised piezoelectric semiconductor medium. The phenomenon of modulational amplification is treated as four wave interaction process involving cubic nonlinearity of the medium. Gain constants, threshold-pump intensities and optimum-pulse duration for the onset of modulational instabilities are estimated. The analysis has been performed in non-dispersive regime of the acoustic mode, which is one of the preconditions for achieving an appreciable initial steady-state growth of the modulated signal wave. It is found that the transient gain constant diminishes very rapidly if one chooses the pump pulse duration beyond the maximum gain point. Moreover, the desired value of the gain can be obtained by adjusting intensity and pulse duration of the pump and doping concentration of the medium concerned. The behavior of eigenmodes near the first low-frequency band gap of a two-dimensional squarearray photonic crystal in the presence of amplification has been studied in detail using an approximate analytic solution for the mode dispersion characteristics. A qualitative analysis of the complex propagation constants was conducted for various directions in the crystal, and the frequency regions corresponding to amplification and absence of transmission due to interference-induced wave damping were identified. The enhancement of amplification in a two-dimensional photonic crystal was estimated.  相似文献
