Crystal structure of monodisperse non-ionic surfactants having the general formula C12H25O–(CH2–CH2–O)nH (C12En),n=7,9, 10, 15, 16 and ionic derivatives, C12H25–O–(CH2–CH2–O)n–CH2COONa (C12EnC),n=3,4,5,6,7,9, 12 has been investigated by13C-CP-MAS-NMR and x-ray diffraction. A structural model, in which aliphatic and polyether segments are segregated in bilayers stacking parallel to the elongation direction of the molecules, fits the experimental data for both series. The experimental values of the repeat distance along the stacking directiond(001) are linearly dependent onn and the slope is nearly equal to twice the repeat distance of7/2 helix conformation, which is typical for crystalline polyethyleneoxide. The values ofd(001) agree very well with the values expected for the C12 segment in a planar zig-zag conformation, which is tilted with respect to the polyerther segment (7/2 helix conformation) in such a way that both the aliphatic and the polyether regions adopt the mass density of the corresponding crystalline compound. Two additional phases have been detected for C12EnC. One of them is probably characterized by the planar zig-zag conformation of the polyether chain. The meader model, previously proposed in the literature for surfactants containing polyethylene oxide segments is inconsistent with the obtained experimental data.  相似文献

The physicochemical properties of the, - type (bolaform) surfactant, eicosane-1, 20-bis(triethylammonium bromide) (C20Et6), in aqueous solution have been investigated by means of surface tension, electrical conductivity, dye solubilization, and time-resolved fluorescence quenching (determination of average micelle aggregation number). Using electrical conductivity, the critical micelle concentration of C20Et6 was found to be 6.0×10–3 mol dm–3 and the ionization degree of C20Et6 micelle was found to be 0.42. From surface tension measurments, the molecular area of C20Et6 at the air-water interface was about twice that of normal type surfactants such as dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide (DTAB). The solubilizing power of micellar solution of C20Et6 toward Orange OT was 1.0×10–2 mole of dye per mole of surfactant, i. e., slightly smaller than that of DTAB. The micelle aggregation number,N, was found to be 17±2 by time-resolved fluorescence quenching. C20Et6 showed a very small temperature dependence ofN, much less than for normal surfactants.  相似文献

Grafting reactions of phenyl groups on silica substrates using as reagents various phenylsilanes with variable distances between the silicon atoms and the aromatic ring by 0, 1, and 2 methylene groups [Si–(CH2) n –C6H5] were studied. Two different silicates have been selected as source of silica: sepiolite and tetraethyl-orthosilicate (TEOS). Sulfonic- and nitro-derivatives prepared from these phenyl compounds by electrophilic substitution reactions, have been obtained. The mechanism of these processes has been studied in relation to the number of methylene separating groups belonging to the starting reagents. Hemolytic activity of nonionic surfactants, polyoxyethylene cholesteryl ethers, C27H45O(CH2CH2O) n H (Chol-E n ,n=, 25, 30, 50) and polyoxyethylene dihydrocholeseryl ethers, C27H47O(CH2CH2O) n H (DHChol-E n ,n=15, 30 50) were measured, changing the concentration of surfactant and erythrocyte at 37 °C. Maximum hemolytic activity was observed in these cholesteryl derivatives with 25–30 oxyethylene units. The time course of hemolysis was also measured as a function of the concentrations of surfactant and erythrocyte. Hemolysis started after a certain induction period,, and then apparently proceeded as a first-order reaction with respect to the erythrocyte concentration. The surfactant inducing 50% hemolysis at low concentration had a small value and large rate constant. The maximum amount of adsorption without inducing hemolysis,a 0, decreased with increasing polyoxyethylene chain length. Chol-E25 has the maximum activity for the solubilization of egg yolk lecithin at 37 °C. Based on these results, the mechanism of hemolysis by these surfactants was quantitatively discussed.  相似文献

Barium ethyl(alkyl)phosphates, as new simple surfactants ((C2H5O)(RO)-PO 2 )2Ba2+ with various chain length ofR, were synthesized. The infrared spectra in the CH stretching region were measured for these surfactants in the solid state and in aqueous solution, and assignments were made. In particular, the ordering and environment of octyl chains in the different phases of the barium ethyl(octyl)phosphate-water system were studied by the Fourier-transform-infrared and Raman spectra. The CH stretching bands in the infrared spectra reflected the ordering and environment of octyl chains in each phase. The Raman band connected to the PO 2 symmetric stretching mode was sensitively shifted. This was caused by the change of aggregation structures with different Ba2+...PO 2 interaction. The infrared band arising from the PO 2 antisymmetric stretching mode was insensitive to the phase structures. The C–C stretching region in the infrared spectra was used to discuss the ordering of each phase.  相似文献

Two new -complexes of copper(I) halides with the 1,3-diallylbenzimidazolium cation, [C7H5N2(C3H5)2]+[Cu2Cl1.40Br1.60] and [C7H5N2(C3H5)2]+[Cu2Br3], have been synthesized and structurally defined (space group P2 1/c for both; a = 22.094(6), b = 9.272(8), c = 9.22(1) , = 118.26(4)° and a = 22.267(5), b = 9.311(3), c = 9.263(2) , = 117.51(2)°). The mutual effects of chlorine–bromine substitution and the efficiency of -interactions are discussed based on XRD data for these two compounds and for the compounds [C7H5N2(C3H5)2]+[Cu2Cl3] and [C7H5N2(C3H5)2]+[Cu2Cl0.67Br2.33] studied previously.  相似文献

The association of anionic surfactants,viz., sodium alkyl sulfates, C n H2n+1OSO3Na (n=5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12), with-cyclodextrin has been investigated by means of NMR spectroscopy. The measurements of chemical shift changes of certain protons of both host and guest molecules indicated 1:1 inclusion complex formation. The association constants (K a) and standard free energy changes (–G 0) for the inclusion complexation reaction vary as a function of the hydrocarbon chain length of the surfactants.  相似文献

The cationic copolymerization products of poly (acrylamide-co-trimethylammoniumethylmethacrylate chloride (PTMAC) having cationic monomer percentages of 8%, 25%, and 50% as well as the cationic homopolymer, were characterized with respect to their molecular dimensions. The light-scattering and viscometric measurements were carried out for molecular weights ranging from 200 000 to 12 800 000 g/mol in 1 M NaCl solution at 25°C. It was possible to establish a relationship between the molecular weight and the two parameters: intrinsic viscosity and radius of gyration, for all four polymers.Rheological investigations of the flow properties in 1 M NaCl solution were also carried out using the polymer with a cationic monomer of 50% (PTMAC 50). Stability of the C21H9(MCp) n (n = 1—3; M = Fe, Ru) complexes containing the C21H9 radical, a representative bowl-shaped precursor of C60 fullerene, was estimated. The carbon skeleton of the radical comprises three pentagonal faces (pent). DFT calculations of the C21H9 radical and its complexes were carried out with full geometry optimization and the PBE exchange-correlation potential. The energies of the M—pent bonds were found to increase with an increase in n, being only slightly lower than those in the hypothetical icosahedral 125—-C60(MCp)12 complexes and classical sandwich complexes M(Cp)2. The increased stability of the C21H9(MCp) n complexes was explained by greater involvement of the conjugated system of the polyhedral skeleton in the interaction.  相似文献

Ultrafine metal particles (UFMP) (iron and cobalt) have been obtained in solid-state redox reactions of cyclopentadienyl--(3)-1,2-dicarbollyliron or cyclopentadienyl--(3)-1,2-dicarbollylcobalt with elemental sulfur ((C5H5)Fe3+(C2B9H11)-S, (C5H5)Co5+C2B9H11-S). These reactions are realized by the action of elastic wave (EW) pulses on powder compositions of these substances. Study of the UFMP obtained by the ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) method has shown that the sizes ofn · Co0 UFP lie in the range from 1 to 13 nm. UFP of cobalt and iron are also formed under the action of EW on samples containing (C5H5)Fe3+(C2B9H11)-S or (C5H5)Co3+(C2B9H11)-S within the film of tetrafluoroethylene and perfluoro-4-methyl-3,6-dioxaoct-7-ene-1-sulfonyl fluoride copolymer (CP). It is shown by the FMR method that FMR lines broaden on going from powder systems to systems containing CP films. The collective scattering function Scoll( ), which describes light (neutron-, x-ray) scattering under wavevector , is obtained from Monte Carlo simulations for a symmetrical polymer mixture. The polymers are modelled by self-avoiding walks ofN A=NB=N steps on a simple cubic lattice, where a fraction V of sites is left vacant, and an attractive energy occurs if two neighboring sites are taken by the same kind of monomer. Spinodal curves are estimated from linear extrapolation of S coll –1 (0) vs./k B T, whereT is the temperature. Also the single chain structure factor is obtained and the de Gennes random phase approximation (RPA) can thus be tested. Unexpectedly, strong deviations are found if one species is very dilute. Contact angles, measured with various liquids, have been employed to calculate the surface free energies of glass after adsorption of quaternary ammonium chlorides with a variable hydrocarbon chain length 8n16. The thickness of the adsorbed layers has been determined ellipsometrically. A clear relation is observed between the measured parameters and the hydrocarbon chain lengthn, if only the extremesn=8 andn=16 are considered. Surface free energies decrease from 138 erg.cm–2 for clean glass to 101 and 64 erg.cm–2 forn=8 andn=16, respectively, at the highest concentration tested (7.5 mM). The adsorbed layer thickness of C8 amounts to approximately 50 % of the thickness observed for C16. No clear relation between the measured parameters is observed for the intermediate hydrocarbon chain lengths, which presumably reflects the many configurations possible in these adsorbed layers. It is envisaged that adsorption of C8 as well as C16 is restricted to a monolayer, which is completed at approximately 2 mM. In the case of C8 electrostatic repulsion between the polar headgroups will inhibit further adsorption, whereas in the case of C16 the van der Waals attraction from the adsorbed layer and the glass will probably not be sufficient to stimulate further adsorption.  相似文献

Electrical and dielectrical properties of poly(bis(-phenoxyethoxy)phosphazene) (I) and its complexes with various content ratios of AgSO3CF3 to monomeric unit (0.25/1 (II) and 0.5/1 (III) in molar ratio) were investigated.Dc conductivity of respective samples at 18 °C were 6.1×10–12, 4.4×10–9, and 7.1×10–8 S/m.Dc conduction was considered to be due to ion hopping. Charge mobility ranged from 3×10–12 to 6× 10–11 m2/Vs depending on the applied field in sample II. In sample I, a tan peak was found which can be ascribed to molecular relaxation of main chains. The peak vanished upon introducing AgSO3 CF3. Temperature dependence of total conductivity ( T ) measured byac method in the temperature range between –150 °C and 50 °C showed several peaks at the temperatures corresponding to the peak temperatures of tan. Total conductivities of respective samples at 100 kHz were 4.9×10–7 (69 °C), 1.7×10–4 (45 °C), and 1.5×10–4(40°C)S/m.  相似文献

The study was extended to analysis of mass, size and conformation of micelles formed in aqueous solutions of ethoxylated nonyl phenols. The results obtained by ultracentrifugal technique between 293 and 323 K have proved that the slightly ethoxylated nonyl phenols form micelles with high molecular mass and larger size at constant temperature, while the increasing length of the ethylene oxide chain favours formation of micelles of smaller molecular mass and size. The transformation of conformation from oblate to spherical shapes ensues with increasing temperature at constant ethoxy number or with ethoxylation at constant temperature. The second virial coefficient decreases with increasing temperature and decreasing ethoxy number. The viscoelasticity has been measured for aqueous solutions of tetradecyl-and hexadecyltrimethylammonium salicylates (C14TASal, C16TASal). The aqueous solutions of C14TASal without salt displayed the gel-like behavior at 10.0×10–2 g cm–3, but those more dilute than 3.2×10–2 g cm–3 presented the viscoelasticity similar to that of a Maxwell liquid. The Maxwell-like behavior was converted to the polymer-like one on the addition of (0.1–0.2) M NaBr or (0.02–0.2) M NaSal. The gel-like viscoelasticity can be connected with the spinnability of cohesive fracture failure, and the Maxwell-like and polymer-like viscoelasticities are concerned with the spinnability of ductile failure. The gel-like and Maxwell-like viscoelasticities originate in the pseudo-network formed by the pseudo-linkages between rodlike micelles, while the polymer-like viscoelasticity is caused by the entanglement of long rodlike micelles in semidilute and concentrated solutions. The aqueous solutions of C16TASal behaved very similar to those of C14TASal.  相似文献

The intercalation reactions betweenn-alkylamines and -titanium phosphate in aqueous media have been investigated. The compounds with the maximum intercalation have the formula -Ti(HOPO3)2 · 2 C n H 2n+1 NH2 · H2O (n=1–10). Defined crystalline phases with lower amine content are described, the general formula being -Ti(HOPO3)2 · m C n H 2n+1 NH2 ·pH2O (m=1.0 1.3, 1.5, 1.7). Whenm=1.0 then-alkylamines form a monomolecular layer. Whenm>1.0 the layer is bimolecular. The inclination angle and the packing density of then-alkylamines in the interlayer space is determined.  相似文献

Conformations of poly(L-lysine) (PLL) and poly(L-ornithine) (PLO) were examined in aqueous solutions of sodium alkanesulfontates (CnSO3Na, n=9, 10, 11, 12) in the presence of 0.02 M NaCl by circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy. These surfactants induce the-structure for PLL and the-helix for PLO. The binding of surfactants on the polypeptides was measured potentiometrically with a surfactant ion electrode and was found to be highly cooperative. The cooperativity increases with increasing chain length of surfactant. The behavior accompanying the surfactant binding and the conformational change indicated that the conformational change requires a certain amount of bound surfactants in the case of C9SO3Na and starts immediately on binding of surfactant in the case of C1 2SO3Na. The clustering of bound surfactants due to the cooperative binding as well as neutralization of polypeptides contributes to their conformational change. A slow conformational change of PLO was found in the time scale of hours, sometimes days, for C9- and C10SO3Na at low concentrations, but the binding process reached the equilibrium quickly. This slow mode might occur due to the slow interaction between surfactant/polypeptide complexes.  相似文献

The viscosity B coefficients of polyethylene glycols (M=62–1000) are determined at 25 °C. The B coefficient increases non-linearly with the number of ethyleneoxide (EO) units. The increase of the B coefficient per EO(0.111 dm3/mole) is less than the B value for two methylene groups (0.160 dm3/mole). This is discussed in terms of changes in the configurations of polyethylene glycols with long EO chains.Molecular size is the major factor that contributes to B at shorter chains, but solvation (hydration) becomes dominant as the number of ethyleneoxide groups increases. The AMI calculations of hydrocarbon molecules C20H10 (1) and C30H10 (2) and anions C20H15 –4 (3) and C30H15 (4) have been performed with the full energy optimization of the geometric parameters. The chosen topology of the carbon framework of the studied compounds is identical to the topology of the corresponding carbon fragments of C60 fullerene. Analysis of the structure of the frontier orbitals of systems1–4 demonstrated that the tendency of the C20H10 molecule to form sandwich -complexes of the 5-type with transition metal atoms is small; however, this tendency is significantly larger than that of C30H10. Moreover, the exclusion of the five-membered cycle of bowlshaped unsaturated hydrocarbon molecules and anions from the conjugated system (as a result of the conversion of five framing C atoms to saturated carbon centers) favors the stabilization of their 5-type -complexes with M(C5H5) species. The stability of these complexes must approach the stability of classical sandwich complexes of the ferrocene type.
