Synthesis of 1-[2-Methyl-6(8)-R-quinolin-4-yl]thiosemicarbazides

1-(2-Methylquinolin-4-yl)thiocemicarbazides and S-(2-methylquinolin-4-yl)thiosemicarbazide hydrochlorides were synthesized by reaction of 6(8)-substituted 4-chloro-2-methylquinolines with thiosemicarbazide under different conditions. Alkaline hydrolysis of the hydrochlorides afforded substituted 1-(2-methylquinolin-4-yl)thiosemicarbazides.     

（E）-1-[4-（2-hydroxy-5-methoxybenzylideneamino）-phenyl]ethanone and （E）-1-[4-（2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzylideneamino） phenyl]ethanone：X-ray and DFT-calculated structures

The isomeric structures of(E)-1-[4-(2-hydroxy-5-methoxybenzylideneamino)-phenyl] ethanone(I) and(E)-1-[4-(2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzylideneamino) phenyl]ethanone(Ⅱ) ,both C16H15NO3,have been determined using X-ray diffraction techniques and characterized by IR,and their molecular structures have also been optimized at the B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) level using density functional theory(DFT) . The energetic behaviors of the title compounds in solvent media have been examined using B3LYP method with the 6-31G(d,p) basis set by applying the polarizable continuum model(PCM) . The total energies of the title compounds decrease with the increasing polarity of the solvent. In addition,DFT calculations of the title compounds' molecular electrostatic potentials(MEP) were performed at the B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) level of theory. X-ray study shows that the title compounds both have strong intramolecular O-H…N hydrogen bonds. The molecules of Ⅰ are linked into a one-dimensional framework structure by C-H…π interactions,while in Ⅱ,intermolecular π···π interactions result in the formation of infinite chains running along the [010].     

N-Substituierte 2-Methyl-3-aminoacetyl-benzo[b]thiophene und 2-Methyl-3-(α-hydroxy-β-amino-äthyl)-benzo[b]thiophene

Zusammenfassung Bromierung von 2-Methyl-3-acetyl-benzo[b]thiophen ergab 2-Methyl-3-bromacetyl-benzo[b]thiophen, das beim Umsetzen mit Dimethylamin, Morpholin und N-Methylpiperazin die entsprechend basisch substituierten 3-Acetylverbindungen lieferte. Diese wurden mit LiAlH₄ zu den -Hydroxyverbindungen reduziert.In ähnlicher Weise wurde auch 3-Diäthylaminoacetyl-benzo[b]thiophen dargestellt.

Bromination of 2-methyl-3-acetyl-benzo[b]thiophene gave 2-methyl-3-bromacetyl-benzo[b]thiophene, which reacted with dimethylamine, morpholine and N-methylpiperazine to give the corresponding base-substituted 3-acetyl derivatives. These were reduced by LiAlH₄ to the -hydroxy compounds.Similarily 3-diethylaminoacetyl-benzo[b]thiophene was synthesized.

     

2-[3-Phenyl-5-(m-Chlorophenyl)-2-Pyrazolin-1-yl]-3-Methyl-4(3H)-Quinazolinone

There are two molecules in the asymmetric unit (I and II). The structure consists of a 2-pyrazoline ring and three aromatic rings two of which are free and the third one is condensed with a 3-methyl-4(3H)-pyrimidine ring (4(3H)-Quinazolinone). While the pyrazoline ring is in the distorted envelope conformation, the free aromatic rings are planar and the pyrimidine ring deviates from the planarity. The crystal structure is stabilized by C–HO inter and intramolecular bonds.

2-Amino-4-[2-(5-nitro-furyl)vinyl]thiazole and its derivatives

The reactions of 4-bromo-1-(5-nitro-2-furyl)but-1-en-3-one and its 2-methyl and 2-chloro derivatives with thiourea and its N-allyl and N-phenyl derivatives have yielded 2-amino-4-[-5-nitro-2-furyl)-vinyl]thiazole and its - and N-substituted derivatives. 2-Amino-4-[-(5-nitro-2-furyl)vinyl]thiazole and its -methyl derivative have also been prepared by the direct reaction of the corresponding , -unsaturated ketones with bromine and an excess of thiourea in chloroform, as was shown by a comparison of UV spectra. A series of N-acyl derivatives of the aminothiazoles has been obtained. UV and IR spectra are given.
