Summary From the sum of the neutral lipids of the seeds ofE. moluccelloides we have isolated the natural di-and monoglycerides, have determined their structure, and have established that these classes of lipids contain a higher amount of saturated acids in the position than the triglycerides of the seeds.It has also been established that in the hydrolysis of natural diglycerides with the nonspecific lipase of the fungusO. lactis synthetic triglycerides are formed that differ from natural triglycerides by an increased amount of saturated acids.Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances, Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR, Tashkent. In the lipids of the seeds and pericarp of the introduced speciesAcanthopanax sessiliflorus (Rupr. et Maxim.) Seem (familyAraliaceae), 23 classes of compounds have been detected, of which 19 have been identified. Sixteen of the classes have been studied. The lipids of the pericarp contain a more complex set of components than the seeds. Hydroxyacyldiacylglycerides, fatty acid methyl esters, and a complex group of pthalicacidesters have been detected in the familyAraliaceae for the first time. Summary In a study of the glyceride and fatty-acid compositions of the neutral lipids ofN. cataria seeds the presence of di- and monoglycerides in the lipids has been established. The composition of ethanolic (I) and gasoline (II) extracts of the cultivated microalgaChlorella vulgaris has been studied. With the aid of CC, TLC, qualitative reactions, GLC, and UVS the following classes of compounds have been detected in them. From the neutral lipids: hydrocarbons, carotenoids, traces of sterols and their esters, fatty acid esters, tri- and diacylglycerols, free fatty acids, and chlorophylls; and from the polar lipids: di- and monogalactosylglycerols, phosphatidylethanolamine, lecithin, phosphatidylinositol, phosphatidylserine, and three sphingosine bases. The polar lipids I and II made up 52.4 and 50.2% of the total, respectively. As compared with extract I, extract II was somewhat enriched with neutral lipids, including provitamins of the A group and vitamins of the F group. A comparative study has been made of the lipid composition of healthy roots of the cotton plant of the Tashkent-1 variety (I) and of the corresponding plants infected withVerticillium dahliae Kleb. (II) grown under field conditions. The action of the factors of infection stress and seasonal and climatic conditions change the lipid metabolism. In lipids (I) and (II) seven classes of neutral lipids (NLs), three classes of glycolipids, and six classes of phospholipids (PLs) were identified and their fatty acid compositions were determined. It was established that in (II) there was a smaller amount of total lipids, NLs, and PLs, and an increased level of polyphenolic pigments, but the level of gossypol pigments with free aldehyde groups was unchanged. In the NLs of (II), as compared with (I), there were more triacylglycerols, sterols, triterpenols, and squalene. Summary The compositions of the neutral lipids and the fatty-acid compositions ofVerticillium dahliae Kleb. grown in a fermenter with various sources of carbon-containing nutriment have been studied. It has been shown that the capacity of the fungus for synthesizing lipids and the quantitative and qualitative compositions of the neutral lipids and the fatty acids change according to the source of carbon-containing nutriment. Under the conditions of growth of the fungus in a fermenter, in some cases the formation of linolenic acid and of saturated iso acids is observed.It has been established that whenV. dahliae is grown on sucrose, the neutral lipids of the fungus include a chlorine-containing compound. The amount, qualitative and class compositions, and total fatty acid composition of the free, bound, and strongly bound lipids of kernels of the seeds of cotton plant of variety 175-F have been determined, and with the aid of enzymatic hydrolysis the strongly bound lipids have been isolated from the cottonseed kernels in the native form. It has been established that more than half the weight of the lipids comprises neutral varieties and the remainder are polar components. Summary Six new diterpene glycosides — doronicosides A, B, C, D, E, and F — have been detected in the roots ofDoronicum macrophyllum Fisch. The qualitative and quantitative composition of the sugar chain of doronicoside D has been established.
