From measurements of the decrease in the heat (enthalpy) of transition in the solid phase using differential scanning calorimetry, the apparent molar heats of solution, slope ΔHt/x, the partial molar heats of solution at infinite dilution, χ, and the heats of solution, ΔHs°, of Tl+ in CsNO3 crystal and Cs+ in TlNO3 crystal and Rb+ in CsNO3 crystal and Cs+ in RbNO3 crystal along with their recovered lattice energies, ΔHL°, are reported. ΔHs° of Tl+ and Rb+ in CsNO3 crystal are each found to be negligible or zero representing an ideal solid solution, i.e. ΔHmix=0. The complete phase diagrams of the TlNO3-CsNO3 and RbNO3-CsNO3 systems with details of the sub-solidus regions are included. The properties of Tl(1−x)CsxNO3 and Rb(1−x)CsxNO3 compositions are discussed in terms of a ‘mixed crystal’ or ‘crystalline solid solution’ in relation to parallel compositions of Tl(1−x)RbxNO3.  相似文献

Thermal and pressure effects have been investigated on the [Fe(sal2-trien)][Ni(dmit)2] spin crossover complex by means of Mössbauer spectroscopic, calorimetric, X-ray diffraction and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The complex displays a complete thermal spin transition between the and spin states of FeIII near 245 K with a hysteresis loop of ca. 30 K. This transition is characterised by a change of the enthalpy, ΔHHL=7 kJ/mol, entropy, ΔSHL=29 J/Kmol, and the unit cell volume, ΔVHL=15.4 Å3. Under hydrostatic pressures up to 5.7 kbar the thermal transition shifts to higher temperatures by ca. 16 K/kbar. Interestingly, at a low applied pressure of 500 bar the hysteresis loop becomes wider (ca. 61 K) and the transition is blocked at ∼50% upon cooling, indicating a possible (irreversible) structural phase transition under pressure.  相似文献

This paper attempts for the first time to establish a reliable linkage between the two well-known and independent models of crystal field (CF), namely the exchange charge (ECM) and superposition models (SM). Our approach aims to show that the SM parameters can be reliably extracted from the distance dependence of the CF invariants for Co2+ as derived from the ECM through some semi-ab initio calculations which involved a single fitting parameter and a set of newly constructed procedures. Complete sets of the numerical values of SM parameters and tk for Co2+ in its own host lattices of Li2Co3(SeO3)4, CoSO4·H2O, CoSeO4·H2O, and Co(OH)2 are obtained and they are found to be around 13,000-16,000 cm−1 for , 4100-5700 cm−1 for , 4.1-5.0 for t2 and 6.2-6.5 for t4. The present results generally agree with but should be much better than those incomplete sets of results found by previous researchers using the conventional fitting approach. Plausible explanations for some noticeable discrepancies are also discussed together with the effects of different CF contributions on values of the SM parameters.  相似文献

A theoretical method for studying the inter-relation between electron and molecule structure is proposed on the basis of the complete energy matrices of the electron-electron repulsion, the ligand-field and the spin-orbit coupling for d5 configuration ion in a trigonal ligand-field. As an application, the local distortion structure of (FeCl6)3- coordination complex for Fe3+ ions doped into CdCl2 is investigated. Both the second-order zero-field splitting parameter and fourth-order zero-field splitting parameter are considered simultaneously in the structural investigation. By diagonalizing the complete energy matrices, the local structure distortion parameters ΔR=−0.24 Å, Δθ=2.137° at 26 K and ΔR=−0.203 Å, Δθ=2.515° at 225 K for Fe3+ ions in CdCl2 are determined. These results elucidate a microscopic origin of various ligand-field parameters which are usually used empirically for the interpretation of electron paramagnetic resonance results. It is found that the theoretical results are in good agreement with the experimental values.  相似文献

Magnetic susceptibility obtained from magnetization measurement (for fields H=0.1 and 1.0 T) of polycrystalline Eu2Ti2O7 shows two distinct features. Firstly, increases on cooling below 300 K and attains a temperature-independent constant value at 68 K (Tmax). Secondly, shows an antiferromagnetic increase below 4.9±0.1 K. The former behavior is explained by crystal field (CF) theory. CF levels and wave functions of ground and excited states are determined accurately from analyses of and earlier reported Mössbauer and optical spectra. Analysis of vs. 1/T curve at low temperatures gives the classical nearest-neighbor exchange interaction Jcl=−0.76 K and a weak dipolar interaction Dnn=0.0056 K. CP of polycrystalline sample of Eu2Ti2O7 and Y2Ti2O7 are measured between 1.8-35 and 1.8-120 K respectively and θD vs. T (K) curves are calculated. At 4 K, θD of Eu2Ti2O7 shows a kink and dCP/dT curve show a maximum. Optical results show energy exchange between Eu3+ ions at intrinsic and extrinsic (defect) sites via super-exchange interaction at low temperature which may account for the observed anomalous behavior of and CP.  相似文献

Optical and magnetic properties of Co2+-doped ZnO nanocrystals were studied. Optical measurements confirm the incorporation of Co2+ in ZnO lattice with tetrahedral geometry. Optical absorption spectra also reveal the partial bleaching of the excitonic feature attributable to an increase in electron concentration. Magnetization measurements indicate the ferromagnetic ordering in Co2+-doped ZnO nanocrystals with saturation magnetization . No structural changes were observed in lightly doped ZnO nanocrystals. The present investigations are important in obtaining the ferromagnetic Zn1−xCoxO nanocrystals.  相似文献

The salt 4-benzyl pyridinium dihydrogenmonophosphate is monoclinic P21/c with the following unit cell dimensions: ; ; ; and β=97.328(11). Also, , Dx=1.403, , F(000)=560; ; and R=0.0495 and Rw=0.0964 for 3733 independent reflections. The structure consists of infinite parallel two-dimensional planes built of H2PO4 anions and C6H5CH2C5H4NH+ cations mutually connected by strong O-H ?O and N-H ?O hydrogen bonding. There are no contacts other than the normal Van der Waals interactions between the layers. The conductivity relaxation parameters associated with some H+ conduction have been determined from an analysis of the spectrum measured in a wide temperature range.  相似文献

Using the 2,5-bis(2-pyridyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole (bptd), we recently prepared [Cu2(bptd) (H2O) Cl4] and [Ni2(bptd)2 (H2O)4] Cl4, 3H2O in which the magnetic centres are connected through one diazine+one chloro and two diazine ligand bridges, respectively. These two compounds are the first examples that show null intramolecular magnetic interactions despite M-M distances close to 3.7 Å within perfectly planar edifices:Down to , [Cu2(bptd)Cl4(H2O)] is paramagnetic while, below Tt, half of the Cu2+ions interact, leading to residual paramagnetism of one Cu2+/f.u. Magnetic susceptibility measurements, EPR and pulsed EPR study indicate the original intermolecular nature of AF exchanges.[Ni2(bptd)2(H2O)4]Cl4·3H2O susceptibility obeys a Curie-law involving pure paramagnetism. Moreover, its EPR spectrum can be interpreted on the basis of virtual S=1 monomers. Below 70 K, Zero Field Splitting (D∼275 G) due to dipolar interactions without magnetic exchanges could be responsible for the LT spectra splitting. For both compounds, the thia role is suggested as partially responsible for the null-in-plane magnetic exchanges.  相似文献

We have investigated the molecular motions of TRIS+ ([(CH2OH)3CNH3]+) and ions in the [(CH2OH)3CNH3]2SiF6 crystal below room temperature from the measurements of the spin-lattice relaxation time T1 and the NMR absorption line of 1H and 19F nuclei, in order to elucidate the changes of the molecular motions by the phase transition of Tc=178 K. The narrowing of the 19F-NMR line was observed around Tc=178 K and the reorientation of the anion appears above Tc. Moreover, from the analysis of the temperature dependence of T1, we have observed that the activation energy of the reorientational motion of ions changes from 0.168 eV (T>Tc) to 0.185 eV (T<Tc). Based on these results, we found that the reorientational motion of ions is closely related to the origin of the phase transition at Tc. In addition, from the measurement of the 1H-NMR line, we also found that the reorientational motion of H2 in the -CH2OH group becomes active accompanied by the phase transition.  相似文献

We have measured the specific heat of crystals of (Ca1−xSrx)3Ru2O7 using ac- and relaxation-time calorimetry. Special emphasis was placed on the characterization of the Néel () and structural () phase transitions in the pure, x=0 material. While the latter is believed to be first order, detailed measurements under different experimental conditions suggest that all the latent heat (with L∼0.3R) is being captured in a broadened peak in the effective heat capacity. The specific heat has a mean-field-like step at TN, but its magnitude () is too large to be associated with a conventional itinerant electron (e.g. spin-density-wave) antiferromagnetic transition, while its entropy is too small to be associated with the full ordering of localized spins. The TN transition broadens with Sr substitution while its magnitude decreases slowly. On the other hand, the entropy change associated with the Tc transition decreases rapidly with Sr substitution, and is not observable for our x=0.58 sample.  相似文献

Transparent Er3+-doped bulk nanocrystallized (size of nanocrystals: ∼40 nm) glasses of 15K2O·15Nb2O5·70TeO2·0.5Er2O3 and 10BaO·10Gd2O3·80TeO2·0.5Er2O3 are prepared, and the Judd-Ofelt parameters, (t=2, 4, 6), of Er3+ are evaluated from optical absorption spectra. The change in the molar polarizability due to the nanocrystallization is small in both samples, but a clear decrease in the mean atomic volume due to the nanocrystallization, i.e. more close atom packing, is observed. In both systems, a large decrease is observed in the parameter due to the nanocrystallization, indicating that the degree of the site symmetry of Er3+ ions in nanocrystallized glasses is much higher than that in the precursor glasses. The decrease in the and parameters due to the crystallization is small, suggesting that the covalency of Er3+-O bonds in nanocrystals is not so different from that in the precursor glasses.  相似文献

By Rietveld refinement of the X-ray diffraction (XRD) data of powdered Na2Al2B2O7 samples aged for over 3 months, we found that Na2Al2B2O7 at room temperature is a mixture of two phases with space group and P63/m, respectively. The structures of the two phases can be refined with identical cell parameters of a=4.80760(11) Å, c=15.2684(5) Å and are composed by [Al2B2O7]2− double layers stacking alternatively with Na+ ions along the c-direction, but differ at in-plane bond orientations of the BO3/AlO4 groups within the double layers: in P63/m phase B-O1/Al-O1 bonds of the two layers are perfectly aligned, whereas in phase they are twisted by 46.4/41.6° around c-axis against each other. It is also found that a freshly prepared sample contains only the phase, but part of the phase will transfer to P63/m phase slowly at room temperature and the transition can be reversed by heating the aged sample above 220 °C.  相似文献

We report the ac electrical response of La0.7Sr0.3Mn1−xFexO3(x=0.05) as a function of temperature, magnetic field (H) and frequency of radio frequency (rf) current (). The ac impedance (Z) was measured while rf current directly passes through the sample as well as in a coil surrounding the sample. It is found that with increasing frequency of the rf current, Z(T) shows an abrupt increase accompanied by a peak at the ferromagnetic Curie temperature. The peak decreases in magnitude and shifts down with increasing value of H. We find a magnetoimpedance of for at around room temperature when the rf current flows directly through the sample and when the rf current flows through a coil surrounding the sample. It is suggested that the magnetoimpedance observed is a consequence of suppression of transverse permeability which enhances skin depth for current flow. Our results indicate that the magnetic field control of high frequency impedance of manganites is more useful than direct current magnetoresistance for low-field applications.  相似文献

The stannides RETSn (RE=Gd-Er and T=Cu,Ag), NdPtSb type structure, space group P63mc, have been investigated by 119Sn Mössbauer spectroscopy and specific heat studies. Small transferred magnetic hyperfine fields are detected at the tin nuclei at 4.2 K in the 119Sn Mössbauer spectra of RECuSn (RE=Tb,Dy and Ho) which reveal that these compounds undergo magnetic transitions at low temperatures. Heat capacity (C) measurements show that the title compounds undergo antiferromagnetic ordering. In order to explore the magnetic behaviour below the Néel temperature (TN), the magnetic part of heat capacity was obtained by subtracting the lattice part of heat capacity obtained from the isostructural non-magnetic stannides Y TSn (T=Cu,Ag). of GdCuSn exhibits an equal moment (EM) magnetic structure and also exhibits multiple transitions below TN, revealing higher order exchange interactions. Among the REAgSn stannides, the magnetic part of heat capacity for RE=Dy and Er exhibits non-T3 behaviour at low temperatures.  相似文献

We report local magnetization measurements on the heavy fermion superconductor CeCoIn5 using a micro-Hall probe. Below a critical point T0 (), the local magnetization shows a clear jump at the superconducting transition temperatures for both Ha and Hc, indicating that the phase transition at the upper critical field Hc2 becomes a first-order phase transition. In addition, we observed an undershoot behavior of magnetization jump above (Hc), which suggests a rapid change of textured superconducting structure with vortices and the nodal planes expected in the Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov state.  相似文献

Electron paramagnetic resonance on La2/3−xYxCa1/3MnO3 in the paramagnetic (PM) regime is presented for 0≤x≤0.133. The resonance linewidth (ΔHpp) decreases with cooling, reaches the minimum at Tmin, and then anomalously increases with further cooling toward Tc. Our analysis on ΔHpp(T) below Tmin shows that the anomalous PM behavior below Tmin is due to the appearance of a ferromagnetic (FM) phase within the PM matrix caused by the applied magnetic fields. The correlation between the anomalous PM and the colossal magnetoresistance is discussed. We argue that both are caused by the phase segregation in which the compound is phase-separated into a mixture of FM and PM regions.  相似文献
