By the methods of luminescence, picosecond spectroscopy, and quantumchemical calculations the mechanisms of electron excitation energy deactivation in some oligothiophenes with intramolecular charge transfer depending on the solvent polarity and viscosity have been investigated. While for 2Npiperidino5(2,2dicyanovinyl)thiophene (PDCVT) the main channel of nonradiative deactivation is the transition to a lower intermediate state with a twisted double bond controlled by the medium viscosity, in the case of (E){2[25piperidino2thienyl]6(trifluoridemethyl)4H4pyranylidene}propanedinitryl (PTFDN) fluorescence quenching is initiated by the solvent polarity. For two other oligothiophenes, 2Npiperidino5cyanothiophene (PCT) and 2Npiperidino5cyanoterthiophene (PCTT), differing in the length of the thiophene chain, we have revealed, along with the effective quenching of fluorescence in shortchain PCT (independent of the solvent polarity and viscosity), an increase in the radiation capacity in PCTT with increasing polarity of the solvent. The possible mechanisms of nonradiative deactivation in the investigated oligothiophenes are discussed.  相似文献

The mean square tilt angle of a nematic slab with finite anchoring energy and periodic boundary conditions has been theoretically investigated, as a function of the slab geometry and of the reduced extrapolation length. The magnetic properties of thin ferromagnetic films are studied taking into account the magnetic anisotropy term in the Hamiltonian. In the second approximation equations are obtained for the magnetization of the monatomic layers parallel to the surface of the thin film. From these equations one obtains the Curie temperature, which depends on the thickness of the thin film and the ratio a between the anisotropy constant and the exchange energy between two neighbours. A value can be chosen for such that the thin film becomes ferromagnetic only for a thickness greater than a definite value and in this manner the theoretical results can be fitted to the experimental data. The situation in cobalt thin films is dealt with in particular.

Conclusions The main difference between the- nucleus and the nucleon-nucleus interaction is in the spin dependence. The spin-spin and spin-orbit interaction is an order of magnitude weaker for the-nucleus than for the nucleon-nucleus system. If we want to emphasize the difference between hypernuclei and nuclei in an oversimplifying manner, we may say that the particle in the nucleus behaves like a spinless neutron.This radical difference in the behaviour of particles and nucleons in nuclear matter presents a sensitive test for the models of nuclear matter. Hypernuclear spectroscopy if studied in detail, a program just begun, promises to give valuable information on the effective properties of the quasiparticles in the nucleus and their interactions, both basic ingredients of nuclear models.Rather surprisingly, hypernuclei live long enough to observe individual states, as can be deduced from the berylium results. These results should be verified as soon as possible. If they are confirmed, this will challenge experimentalists to determine the -nucleus interaction in the same way as done for particles and the theorists to explain why the strong decay of particles in the nucleus is hindered.Invited talk at the symposium Mesons and Light Nuclei, Liblice, Czechoslovakia, June 1981.  相似文献

A short review of theoretical and experimental studies concerning the photoexcited florescence and Raman scattering of light for a substance in a space containing small material bodies is presented. Calculations of the radiativetransition probability for atoms (molecules) in the vicinity of bodies with a size much smaller than the light wavelength are performed. The probabilities of the singlephoton and doublephoton transitions are shown to increase by factors of 9 and 81 in the vicinity of a nanosize sphere with dielectric constant ||\ 1. The probability of a radiative transition in the vicinity of the vertex of a conic needle bearing up against a plane (both with || 1) increases by factors of (/R in)2 and (/R in)4 for singlephoton and doublephoton transitions, respectively (R in is the curvature radius for the needle vertex). This theoretical result is suggested as an explanation of the effect of increasing the radiation process intensity in the experiments carried out in the studies cited below.  相似文献

We analyze various processes where particles are added irreversibly and sequentially at the sites of infinite ladders or broader strips (i.e., on terraces) of adsorption sites. For sufficiently narrow strips or ladders, exact solution in closed form is possible for a variety of processes. Often this is most naturally achieved by mapping the process onto an equivalent one-dimensional process typically involvingcompetitive adsorption. We demonstrate this procedure for sequential adsorption with nearest-neighbor exclusion on a 2× square ladder. For other select processes on strips slightly too broad for exact solution, almost exact analysis is possible exploiting an empty-site shielding property. In this way, we determine a jamming coverage of 0.91556671 for random sequential adsorption of dimers on a 2× square ladder. For broader strips, we note that the complexity of these problems quickly approaches that for × lattices.  相似文献

The Callan-Symanzik- and-functions are calculated analytically for Q.E.D. in the limit of a large number of leptons (N F) up to terms of order 1/N F inclusive. We give closed analytic expressions for the coefficients of these terms in their series expansion in powers ofK N F/. Previous results relating the one-dimensional random field Ising model to a discrete stochastic mapping are generalized to a two-valued correlated random (Markovian) field and to the case of zero temperature. We employ QCD sum rules to calculate the coupling constant g by studying the three point -correlation function. Our result complements the analysis of this coupling constant utilizing the experimental value of the 00 decay rate studied within the framework of chiral perturbation theory including vector meson and meson intermediate states.  相似文献

The density of the conduction electrons near a delta-barrier and near a delta-well is calculated in a one-dimensional non-degenerate semiconductor, on condition that interband transitions may be neglected. The dispersion function E(k) in the bottom part of the conduction band is fitted by a function resulting from the author's theory of the Wiener process modified by a Poisson random sequence of very short shocks [V.B., J. Phys.: Math. Gen. 25 (1992) 6027]. In an interval (which is wide enough), this function can simulate the Kane (two-band) dispersion function with the non-parabolicity parameter = 1/E G.  相似文献

The diluted-field Ising model, a random nonnegative field ferromagnetic model, is shown to have a unique Gibbs measure with probability I when the field mean is positive. Our methods involve comparisons with ordinary uniform field Ising models. They yield as a corollary a way of obtaining spontaneous magnetization through the application of a vanishing random magnetic field. The correlation lengths of this model defined as (lim n-(1/n) log 0; n)-1, wheren is the site on the first coordinate axis at distancen from the origin and 0; n is the origin ton two-point truncated correlation function, is non-random. We derive an upper bound for it in terms of the correlation length of an ordinary nonrandom model with uniform field related to the field distribution of the diluted model.  相似文献

The projection latticesP(1),P(2) of two von Neumann subalgebras 1, 2 of the von Neumann algebra are defined to be logically independent if A B0 for any 0AP(1), 0BP(2). After motivating this notion in independence, it is shown thatP(1),P(2) are logically independent if 1 is a subfactor in a finite factor andP(1),P(2 commute. Also, logical independence is related to the statistical independence conditions called C*-independence W*-independence, and strict locality. Logical independence ofP(1,P(2 turns out to be equivalent to the C*-independence of (1,2) for mutually commuting 1,2 and it is shown that if (1,2) is a pair of (not necessarily commuting) von Neumann subalgebras, thenP(1,P(2 are logically independent in the following cases: is a finite-dimensional full-matrix algebra and 1,2 are C*-independent; (1,2) is a W*-independent pair; 1,2 have the property of strict locality.  相似文献

The critical behaviour of axially anisotropicn-vector models is characterized by two distinct length scales, the correlation lengths and for the easy and hard axes. In order to handle the full range of anisotropics from to partial differential renormalization group equations are derived, depending on and . The anisotropicX-Y model is studied in detail near four dimensions. The crossover scaling functions for the susceptibilities are calculated to first order in=4–d. A natural model of a discrete random surface lying above a two-dimensional substrate is presented and analyzed. An identification of the level curves of the surface with the Peierls contours of Ising spin configurations leads to an exactly solvable free energy, with logarithmically divergent specific heat. The thermodynamic critical point is shown to be a wetting transition at which the surface height diverges. Zn x Cd1–x S thin films (0x0.20) were prepared using rf sputtering in argon atmosphere and characterized using X-ray diffraction, optical transmission, electrical resistivity and photoconductive decay measurements. The films were found to possess hexagonal structure. The crystallite size and degree of preferential orientation were found to decrease with the increase ofx and to improve upon annealing in vacuum at 250 °C. The transmission edge shifted towards shorter wavelengths with the increase ofx in agreement with the expected shift in the energy band gap. The films were found to exhibit room temperature resistivity in the range 100–1000 cm. The obtained values of long wavelength transmission (70–80%) and minority carrier diffusion length (30 m) are high enough for the application of these films in the field of solar cells.  相似文献

We define two new models on the square lattice in which each allowed configuration is a superposition of a covering by white dimers and one by black dimers. Each model maps to a solid-on-solid (SOS) model in which the height field is two dimensional. Measuring the stiffness of the SOS fluctuations in the rough phase provides critical exponents of the dimer models. Using this height representation, we have performed Monte Carlo simulations. They confirm that each dimer model has critical correlations and belongs to a new universality class. In the dimer-loop model (which maps to a loop model) one height component is smooth, but has unusual correlated fluctuations; the other height component is rough. In the noncrossing-dimer model the heights are rough, having two different elastic constants; an unusual form of its elastic theory implies anisotropic critical correlations.  相似文献

We present a modified London model suggested by Brandt [1–3] which introduces a finite vortex core size appropriate for isotropic superconductors in which the average internal field is less than approximately (1/4)H c2. TheSR lineshape resulting from this model possesses a distinctive shape due to the magnetic penetration depth and the vortex core diameter (approximately equal to twice the coherence length ). However, for a given lineshape, there is a large range of values of and which produce nearly the same lineshape. Lineshape smearing caused by disorder in the vortex lattice increases uncertainty in values for and . If well-determined values of either (T) or (T) are not available from another technique, both of them can be determined bySR measurements alone if runs in more than one applied field at the same temperature are fit with and as shared parameters. We also present our method of estimating the degree of disorder in the vortex lattice.  相似文献
