The mixed-valence cluster compound V4IVV2VO7(OC2H5)12 was studied by X-band electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) in the temperature range of 4.2-293 K. According to X-ray diffraction study, the crystal structure of the compound was described by a R3m space group at 295 K (four d1 electrons are equally delocalized on all vanadium ions) and changed to a P21/n space group on cooling the crystals to 173 K (the electrons are preferably localized on the four equatorial vanadium ions). The EPR spectra originate from the S = 1 total spin states with the fine structure averaged to a single Lorentzian line and from the S = 2 total spin states with fine structure partly averaged in the temperature range of 295-200 K and well averaged below 45-50 K. The states of S = 1 and S = 2 of comparable energy (DeltaE approximately 2 cm(-1); ES=1 < ES=2) were shown to be the lowest ones. The VIV <--> VV unpaired electron transfers together with isotropic Heisenberg exchange were shown to determine the total spin states composition and the intracluster dynamics of the compound. Two types of electron transfers were assumed: the single-jump transfer leading to the averaged configurations of the V4IVV2V <--> V3IVVV VIVVV type and to the splitting of the total spin states by intervals comparable in magnitude with the isotropic exchange parameter J approximately 100 cm-1 and the double-jump transfer resulting in dynamics. Temperature dependence of the transition rates nutr was observed. In the range of 295-210 K, the value of nutr = (0.5-0.6) x 10(10) s(-1) is sufficient for averaging the fine structure of the S = 1 states, and below 45 K the value of nutr approximately 1.5 x 10(10) s(-1) also averages the fine structure of the S = 2 state. A change in the localization plane of the VIV ions in the temperature range of 40-50 K was discovered.  相似文献

A general synthetic approach to rationalize the solution preparative chemistry of oxovanadium phosphates containing organic species as structural directing agents is presented. Careful attention is payed to the hydrolysis and condensation processes involving the ionic species in solution, and a simple restatement of the partial charge model (PCM) has been used in order to organize the experimental results. The structure of a new V(IV)-Fe(III) bimetallic oxovanadium phosphate, [H(3)N(CH(2))(2)NH(3)](2)[H(3)N(CH(2))(2)NH(2)] [Fe(III)(H(2)O)(2)(V(IV)O)(8)(OH)(4)(HPO(4))(4)(PO(4))(4)].4H(2)O, has been determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction methods. This compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P2(1)/n and the cell dimensions are as follows: a = 14.383(3) ?, b = 10.150(2) ?, c = 18.355(4) ?, and beta = 90.39(3) degrees (Z = 2). The existence of a complex intercrossing channel system, including a very large channel of 18.4 ? of diameter (in which both water molecules and ethylenediamine species are located), is the more interesting feature of this structure. Thermal decomposition, including the dehydration/rehydration process, has been studied by thermal analysis and variable temperature X-ray powder diffraction techniques. A complementary SEM study of the different intermediate decomposition products is presented.  相似文献

Dark green crystals of (NpO(2))(3)(OH)(SeO(3))(H(2)O)(2)·H(2)O (1) have been prepared by a hydrothermal reaction of neptunyl(V) and Na(2)SeO(4) in an aqueous solution at 150 °C, while green plates of Na(NpO(2))(SeO(3))(H(2)O) (2) have been synthesized by evaporation of a solution of neptunyl(V), H(2)SeO(4), and NaOH at room temperature. Both compounds have been characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The structure of compound contains three crystallographically unique Np atoms that are bonded to two O atoms to form a nearly linear O═Np═O NpO(2)(+) cation. Neighboring Np(5+) ions connect to each other through a bridging oxo ion from the neptunyl unit, a configuration known as cation-cation interactions (CCIs), to build a complex three-dimensional network. More specifically, each Np(1)O(2)(+), Np(2)O(2)(+), and Np(3)O(2)(+) cation is involved in three, five, and four CCIs with other units, respectively. The framework of neptunyl(V) pentagonal bipyramids is decorated by selenite trigonal pyramids with one-dimensional open channels where uncoordinated waters are trapped via hydrogen bonding interactions. Compound adopts uranophane-type [(NpO(2))(SeO(3))](-) layers, which are separated by Na(+) cations and water molecules. Within each layer, neptunyl(V) pentagonal bipyramids share equatorial edges with each other to form a single chain that is further connected by both monodentate and bidentate selenite trigonal pyramids. Crystallographic data: compound, monoclinic, P2(1)/c, Z = 4, a = 6.6363(8) ?, b = 15.440(2) ?, c = 11.583(1) ?, β = 103.549(1)°, V = 1153.8(2) ?(3), R(F) = 0.0387 for I > 2σ(I); compound (2), monoclinic, C2/m, Z = 4, a = 14.874(4) ?, b = 7.271(2) ?, c = 6.758(2) ?, β = 112.005(4)°, V = 677.7(3) ?(3), R(F) = 0.0477 for I > 2σ(I).  相似文献

The synthesis of an NbO-type metal-organic framework was achieved by design: o-Br-BDC (BDC = benzenedicarboxylate) was used to direct the formation of Cu2(CO2)4 paddle wheel units at 90 degrees to each other and thus yield the target network. The compound was formulated as Cu2[o-Br-BDC]2(H2O)2.(DMF)8(H2O)2 (MOF-101) and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction [cubic, space group Imm (No. 229) with a = 21.607(3) A, V = 10088(2) A3, Z = 6], which fully confirmed the presence of the expected structure. Despite having very large apertures and voids, MOF-101 has a noninterpenetrated structure, an intriguing observation that is discussed in the context of dual structures.  相似文献

The reactions of the singly deprotonated di-2-pyridylmethanediol ligand (dpmdH(-)) with copper(II) and bismuth(III) have been investigated. A new dinuclear bismuth(III) complex Bi(2)(dpmdH)(2)(O(2)CCF(3))(4)(THF)(2), 1, has been obtained by the reaction of BiPh(3) with di-2-pyridyl ketone in the presence of HO(2)CCF(3) in tetrahydrofuran (THF). The reaction of Cu(OCH(3))(2) with di-2-pyridyl ketone, H(2)O, and acetic acid in a 1:2:2:2 ratio yielded a mononuclear complex Cu[(2-Py)(2)CO(OH)](2)(HO(2)CCH(3))(2), 2, while the reaction of Cu(OAC)(2)(H(2)O) with di-2-pyridyl ketone and acetic acid in a 2:1:1 ratio yielded a tetranuclear complex Cu(4)[(2-Py)(2)CO(OH)](2)(O(2)CCH(3))(6)(H(2)O)(2), 3. The structures of these complexes were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. Three different bonding modes of the dpmdH(-) ligand were observed in compounds 1-3. In 2, the dpmdH(-) ligand functions as a tridentate chelate to the copper center and forms a hydrogen bond between the OH group and the noncoordinating HO(2)CCH(3) molecule. In 1 and 3, the dpmdH(-) ligand functions as a bridging ligand to two metal centers through the oxygen atom. The two pyridyl groups of the dpmdH(-) ligand are bound to one bismuth(III) center in 1, while in 3 they are bound two copper(II) centers, respectively. Compound 3 has an unusual one dimensional hydrogen bonded extended structure. The intramolecular magnetic interaction in 3 has been found to be dominated by ferromagnetism. Crystal data: 1, C(38)H(34)N(4)O(14)F(12)Bi(2), triclinic P&onemacr;, a = 11.764(3) ?, b = 11.949(3) ?, c = 9.737(1) ?, alpha =101.36(2) degrees, beta = 105.64(2) degrees, gamma = 63.79(2) degrees, Z = 1; 2, C(26)H(26)N(4)O(8)Cu/CH(2)Cl(2), monoclinic C2/c, a = 25.51(3) ?, b = 7.861(7) ?, c = 16.24(2) ?, beta = 113.08(9) degrees, Z = 4; 3, C(34)H(40)N(4)O(18)Cu(4)/CH(2)Cl(2), triclinic P&onemacr;, a = 10.494(2) ?, b = 13.885(2) ?, c = 7.900(4) ?, alpha =106.52(2) degrees, beta = 90.85(3) degrees, gamma = 94.12(1) degrees, Z = 1.  相似文献

The complex [(terpy)(H(2)O)Mn(III)(O)(2)Mn(IV)(OH(2))(terpy)](NO(3))(3) (terpy = 2,2':6,2' '-terpyridine) (1)catalyzes O(2) evolution from either KHSO(5) (potassium oxone) or NaOCl. The reactions follow Michaelis-Menten kinetics where V(max) = 2420 +/- 490 mol O(2) (mol 1)(-1) hr(-1) and K(M) = 53 +/- 5 mM for oxone ([1] = 7.5 microM), and V(max) = 6.5 +/- 0.3 mol O(2) (mol 1)(-1) hr(-1) and K(M) = 39 +/- 4 mM for hypochlorite ([1] = 70 microM), with first-order kinetics observed in 1 for both oxidants. A mechanism is proposed having a preequilibrium between 1 and HSO(5-) or OCl(-), supported by the isolation and structural characterization of [(terpy)(SO(4))Mn(IV)(O)(2)Mn(IV)(O(4)S)(terpy)] (2). Isotope-labeling studies using H(2)(18)O and KHS(16)O(5) show that O(2) evolution proceeds via an intermediate that can exchange with water, where Raman spectroscopy has been used to confirm that the active oxygen of HSO(5-) is nonexchanging (t(1/2) > 1 h). The amount of label incorporated into O(2) is dependent on the relative concentrations of oxone and 1. (32)O(2):(34)O(2):(36)O(2) is 91.9 +/- 0.3:7.6 +/- 0.3:0.51 +/- 0.48, when [HSO(5-)] = 50 mM (0.5 mM 1), and 49 +/- 21:39 +/- 15:12 +/- 6 when [HSO(5-)] = 15 mM (0.75 mM 1). The rate-limiting step of O(2) evolution is proposed to be formation of a formally Mn(V)=O moiety which could then competitively react with either oxone or water/hydroxide to produce O(2). These results show that 1 serves as a functional model for photosynthetic water oxidation.  相似文献

A mixed-valence vanadium phosphate, NH(4)[(V(2)O(3))(2)(4,4'-bpy)(2)(H(2)PO(4))(PO(4))(2)].0.5H(2)O, has been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c (No. 15) with a = 12.6354(8) A, b = 9.9786(6) A, c = 23.369(1) A, beta = 92.713(1) degrees, and Z = 4 with R(1) = 0.0389. The structure consists of dimers of edge-sharing vanadium(IV,V) octahedra that are connected by corner-sharing phosphate tetrahedra to form layers in the ab-plane, which are further linked through 4,4'-bipyridine pillars to generate a 3-D framework. Magnetic susceptibility confirms the valence of the vanadium atoms. The (31)P MAS NMR spectrum shows a resonance centered at 80 ppm with a shoulder at ca. 83 ppm in an intensity ratio close to 1:2, which correspond to two distinct P sites. The observed large downfield (31)P NMR shifts can be ascribed to magnetic exchange coupling involving phosphorus atoms. The unpaired electron spin density at the phosphorus nucleus was determined from variable-temperature (31)P NMR spectra. The (1)H MAS NMR spectrum was fitted to six components in accordance with the structure as determined from X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

Two new compounds, [Ph3PCH2Ph]2[Zn3(tp)3Cl2] (1) and Ni3(tma)2(H2O)8 (2) (tp = terephthalate, tma = trimesate), are metal-polycarboxylate coordination polymers prepared by similar hydrothermal synthesis techniques. X-ray single-crystal structural analysis shows that both compounds crystallize in the 2D claylike lamellar architectures, in which 1 possesses the interlayer [Ph3PCH2Ph]+ exchangeable cation and has been confirmed by PXRD patterns. 1 (C74H56Cl2O12P2Zn3) belongs to monoclinic P21/c, Z = 2 (a = 18.956(1) A, b = 10.2697(5) A, c = 17.067(1) A, beta = 99.486(4) degrees ). 2 (C18H22O20Ni3) is attributed to triclinic P, Z = 1 (a = 6.6643(8) A, b = 9.622(1) A, c = 10.089(1) A, alpha = 112.675(2) degrees , beta = 94.007(1) degrees, gamma = 106.411(2) degrees ). Linear metal trinuclear clusters bridged by rigid linear tp ligands for 1 and trigonal tma ligands for 2 give rise to a novel 2D 6-linked (3,6) topological anionic network in 1 and an interesting 2D 3,6-linked molybdenite topological neutral network in 2, respectively. Both compounds exhibit intense fluorescent emission bands at 410 nm (lambda(exc) = 355 nm) for 1 and 398 nm (lambda(exc) = 300 nm) for 2 in the solid state at room temperature.  相似文献

Two organically-templated layered uranium(IV) fluorooxalates, (H(4)TREN)[U(2)F(6)(C(2)O(4))(3)].4H(2)O (1) (TREN = tris(2-aminoethyl)amine) and (H(4)APPIP)[U(2)F(6)(C(2)O(4))(3)].4H(2)O (2) (APPIP = 1,4-bis(3-aminopropyl)piperazine), have been synthesized by hydrothermal methods and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, and magnetic susceptibility. Both structures consist of anionic [U(2)F(6)(C(2)O(4))(3)](4-) layers separated by organic ammonium cations and lattice water molecules. The UF(3)O(6) polyhedra are connected by oxalate ligands in different ways within the layers. They are the first examples of organically-templated uranium fluorooxalates. Crystal data for compound 1 follow: monoclinic, P2(1)/c (No. 14), a = 19.1563(5) A, b = 8.9531(2) A, c = 16.6221(4) A, beta = 114.633(1) degrees, and Z = 4. Crystal data for compound are the same as those for 1 except a = 10.3309(8) A, b = 15.564(1) A, c = 17.537(1) A, and beta = 95.430(4) degrees.  相似文献

Two new hybrid organic/inorganic copper oxovanadium diphosphonates [Cu2(phen)2(O3PCH2PO3)(V2O5)(H2O)] x H2O (1) and [(Cu2(phen)2(O3P(CH2)3PO3)(V2O5)] x C3H8 (2) have been obtained by hydrothermal synthesis. The compounds are monoclinic, and they crystallize in the space group P2(1)/n with cell parameters of a = 11.788(2) A, b = 17.887(3) A, c = 14.158(2) A, and beta = 93.99(0) degrees and in the space group C2/c with cell parameters of a = 11.025(1) A, b = 18.664(2) A, c = 15.054(2) A, and beta = 90.06(0) degrees, respectively. Both compounds present two-dimensional frameworks built up from infinite chains of corner-sharing vanadium tetrahedra and diphosphonate groups connected by copper tetramers for (1) and copper dimers for (2). The remarkable feature of (2) is the encapsulation of propane molecules, stabilized by strong hydrogen bonding between the layers. The magnetic properties of the compounds have been investigated showing antiferromagnetic coupling with Tmax = 64 K for (1) and Curie-like paramagnetic behavior for (2).  相似文献

Following the strategy of using polyfunctional phosphonic acids for the synthesis of open-framework metal phosphonates, the phosphonocarboxylic acid (H2O3PCH2)2NCH2C6H4COOH was used in the hydrothermal synthesis of new Ba phosphonates. Its decomposition led to the first open-framework barium phosphonate [Ba3(O3PCH2NH2CH2PO3)2(H2O)4].3H2O. The synthesis was also successfully performed using iminobis(methylphosphonic acid), (H2O3PCH2)2NH, as a starting material, and the synthesis was optimized to obtain as a pure material. The reaction setup as well as the pH are the dominant parameters, and only a diffusion-controlled reaction led to the desired compound. The crystal structure was solved from single-crystal data: monoclinic; C2/c; a=2328.7(2), b=1359.95(7), and c=718.62(6) pm; beta=98.732(10) degrees ; V=2249.5(3)x10(6) pm3; Z=4; R1=0.036; and wR2=0.072 (all data). The structure of [Ba3(O3PCH2NH2CH2PO3)2(H2O)4].3H2O is built up from BaO8 and BaO10 polyhedra forming BaO chains and layers, respectively. These are connected to a three-dimensional metal-oxygen-metal framework with the iminobis(methylphosphonic acid) formally coating the inner walls of the pores. The one-dimensional pores (3.6x4 A) are filled with H2O molecules that can be thermally removed. Thermogravimetric investigations and temperature-dependent X-ray powder diffraction demonstrate the stability of the crystal structure up to 240 degrees C. The uptake of N,N-dimethylformamide and H2O by dehydrated samples is demonstrated. Furthermore, IR, Raman, and 31P magic-angle-spinning NMR data are also presented.  相似文献

The trinuclear manganese complex [Mn(3)O(4)(phen)(4)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(4).2.5H(2)O, 1 (where, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), has been synthesized by the Ce(IV) oxidation of a concentrated solution of manganese(II) acetate and phen in 1.6 N nitric acid. The complex crystallizes in the triclinic space group P&onemacr; with a = 10.700(2) ?, b = 12.643(3) ?, c = 20.509(4) ?, alpha = 78.37(3) degrees, beta = 83.12(3) degrees, gamma = 82.50(3) degrees, and Z = 2. The structure was solved by direct methods and refined by least-squares techniques to the conventional R (R(w)) factors of 0.055 (0.076) based on 4609 unique reflections with F(o) >/= 6.0sigma(F(o)). The structure of the cation consists of an oxo-bridged Mn(3)O(4)(4+) core, with the geometry of the manganese atoms being octahedral. The coordination polyhedron of one of the manganese atoms (Mn(1)) consists of two &mgr; oxo ligands and two pairs of nitrogen atoms of two phen moieties, whereas that of each of the remaining two manganese atoms consists of three &mgr;-oxo ligands, two nitrogen atoms of a phen moiety, and the oxygen atom of a water molecule. The complex represents the second example for water coordination to manganese(IV) centers in complexes with a Mn(3)O(4)(4+) core. Optical spectra in ligand buffer (pH 4.5) reveal complete conversion of the complex into a Mn(III)Mn(IV) species. The observed room-temperature (298 K) magnetic moment of 3.75 &mgr;(B) indicates the presence of strong antiferromagnetic coupling in the complex.  相似文献

A 0D vanadium borophosphate [Co(en)(3)](2)[V(3)P(3)BO(19)][H(2)PO(4)].4H(2)O (1) and two 1D vanadium oxides [Co(en)(3)][V(3)O(9)].H(2)O (2) and [Co(dien)(2)][V(3)O(9)].H(2)O (3) have been synthesized hydrothermally from the reaction mixture of V(2)O(5)-H(3)PO(4)-H(3)BO(3)-CoCl(2)-R-H(2)O at 110 degrees C (R: en or dien). The complex cations Co(en)(3)(3+) and Co(dien)(2)(3+) are cooperatively organized in the reaction medium to play a structure-directing role in the formation of the inorganic clusters and chains. The structures are determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and further characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, ICP, and TG analyses. The structure of 1 contains isolated [V(3)P(3)BO(19)](5)(-) cluster anions, H(2)PO(4)(-) anions, racemic Co(en)(3)(3+) cations, and H(2)O molecules, which form a complex H-bond network. 2 and 3 both contain chains of corner-sharing VO(4) tetrahedra running along the 2(1) screw axis. The complex cations located in the interchain region interact with the chains through H-bonds. 2 is crystallized in an enantiomorphic space group and only one enantiomer of Co(en)(3)(3+) is involved in the structure.
