We investigate the system of nonlinear partial differential equations governing the unsteady motion of an incompressible viscoelastic fluid of Oldroyd type in a bounded domain under Navier’s slip boundary condition. We prove the existence of global weak solutions for the corresponding initial-boundary value problem without assuming that the model constants, body force or the initial values of the velocity and the stress tensor are small.  相似文献

The external feedback control problem in the Voigt model of the motion of a viscoelastic fluid is investigated. In this paper, we study the problem of boundary layer for nonstationary flows of viscous incompressible fluids. There are some open problems in the field of boundary layer. The method used here is mainly based on a transformation which reduces the boundary layer system to an initial-boundary value problem for a single quasilinear parabolic equation. We prove the existence of weak solutions to the modified nonstationary boundary layer system. Moreover, the stability and uniqueness of weak solutions are discussed.  相似文献

An initial-boundary value problem is considered for the density-dependent incompressible viscous magnetohydrodynamic flow in a three-dimensional bounded domain. The homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition is prescribed on the velocity, and the perfectly conducting wall condition is prescribed on the magnetic field. For the initial density away from vacuum, the existence and uniqueness are established for the local strong solution with large initial data as well as for the global strong solution with small initial data. Furthermore, the weak-strong uniqueness of solutions is also proved, which shows that the weak solution is equal to the strong solution with certain initial data.  相似文献

We establish the existence and uniqueness (the latter only in the plane case) of a weak solution to an initial-boundary value problem for the system of the equations of motion of a viscoelastic fluid, namely, for the anti-Zener model whose constitutive law contains fractional derivatives. A singularly perturbed initial-boundary value problem is considered for a parabolic equation known in applications as the reaction-diffusion equation. An asymptotic expansion of solutions with a moving front is constructed, and an existence theorem for such solutions is proved. The asymptotic expansion is substantiated using the asymptotic method of differential inequalities, which is extended to the class of problems under study. The method is based on well-known comparison theorems and is a development of the idea of using formal asymptotics for the construction of upper and lower solutions in singularly perturbed problems with internal and boundary layers.  相似文献

An initial-boundary value problem for the diffusion equation with an unknown initial condition is considered. Additional information used for determining the unknown initial condition is an external volume potential whose density is the Laplacian calculated for the solution of the initial-boundary value problem. Uniqueness theorems for the inverse problem are proved in the case when the spatial domain of the initial-boundary value problem is a spherical layer or a parallelepiped.  相似文献

In this article we consider a linear electromagnetic material characterized by a rate-type equation for the electric conduction in order to consider memory effects for this field. After deriving the restrictions imposed by the thermodynamic principles on the constitutive equations, we introduce the free energy useful to show the existence of a domain of dependence. Then, theorems of existence and uniqueness of weak and strong solutions are established for the initial-boundary value problem for the system of Maxwell's equations. By the techniques of artificial pressure, a solution to the initial-boundary value problem is constructed through an approximation scheme and a weak convergence method. The branches of solutions of a nonlinear integral equation of Volterra type in a Banach space are constructed by the successive approximation method. We consider the case in which a solution may have an algebraic branching point. We reduce the equation to a system regular in a neighborhood of the branching point.
