On Analytic Campanato and <Emphasis Type="Italic">F</Emphasis>(<Emphasis Type="Italic">p</Emphasis>, <Emphasis Type="Italic">q</Emphasis>, <Emphasis Type="Italic">s</Emphasis>) Spaces

We investigate the relation between analytic Campanato spaces \(\mathcal {AL}_{p,s}\) and the spaces F(p, q, s), characterize the bounded and compact Riemann–Stieltjes operators from \(\mathcal {AL}_{p,s}\) to \(F(p,p-s-1,s)\). We also describe the corona theorem and the interpolating sequences for the class \(F(p,p-2,s)\), which is the Möbius invariant subspace of the analytic Besov type spaces \(B_p(s)\).     

Equitable total coloring of <Emphasis Type="Italic">F</Emphasis><Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis></Subscript> ⋁ <Emphasis Type="Italic">W</Emphasis><Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis></Subscript>

The minimum number of total independent partition sets of V ∪ E of graph G(V,E) is called the total chromatic number of G denoted by χ _t (G). If the difference of the numbers of any two total independent partition sets of V ∪ E is no more than one, then the minimum number of total independent partition sets of V ∪ E is called the equitable total chromatic number of G, denoted by χ _et (G). In this paper, we obtain the equitable total chromatic number of the join graph of fan and wheel with the same order. A closed-form expression for the Drinfeld modular polynomial Φ<Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">T</Emphasis></Subscript>(<Emphasis Type="Italic">X</Emphasis>, <Emphasis Type="Italic">Y</Emphasis>)

In this paper we give a closed-form expression for the Drinfeld modular polynomial \({\Phi_T(X,Y) \in \mathbb{F}_q(T)[X,Y]}\) for arbitrary q and prove a conjecture of Schweizer. A new identity involving the Catalan numbers plays a central role.     

On blocks with <Emphasis Type="Italic">K</Emphasis>(<Emphasis Type="Italic">B</Emphasis>)−<Emphasis Type="Italic">L</Emphasis>(<Emphasis Type="Italic">B</Emphasis>)=1

We use the method of local representation and original method of Brauer to study the block with K(B)−L(B)=1, and get some properties on the defect group and the structure of this kind of blocks. Then, we show that K(B) conjecture holds for this kind of blocks.     

On common values of <Emphasis Type="Italic">φ</Emphasis>(<Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis>) and <Emphasis Type="Italic">σ</Emphasis>(<Emphasis Type="Italic">m</Emphasis>). I

We show, conditional on a uniform version of the prime k-tuples conjecture, that there are x/(log x)^1+o(1) numbers not exceeding x common to the ranges of φ and σ. Here φ is Euler’s totient function and σ is the sum-of-divisors function.     

Bishop’s theorem and differentiability of a subspace of <Emphasis Type="Italic">C</Emphasis><Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">b</Emphasis></Subscript>(<Emphasis Type="Italic">K</Emphasis>)

Let K be a Hausdorff space and C _b (K) be the Banach algebra of all complex bounded continuous functions on K. We study the Gateaux and Fréchet differentiability of subspaces of C _b (K). Using this, we show that the set of all strong peak functions in a nontrivial separating separable subspace H of C _b (K) is a dense G _δ subset of H, if K is compact. This gives a generalized Bishop’s theorem, which says that the closure of the set of all strong peak points for H is the smallest closed norming subset of H. The classical Bishop’s theorem was proved for a separating subalgebra H and a metrizable compact space K.     

Minimal length elements of Thompson’s groups <Emphasis Type="Italic">F</Emphasis>(<Emphasis Type="Italic">p</Emphasis>)

We describe a method for determining the minimal length of elements in the generalized Thompson’s groups F(p). We compute the length of an element by constructing a tree pair diagram for the element, classifying the nodes of the tree and summing associated weights from the pairs of node classifications. We use this method to effectively find minimal length representatives of an element.      

On the Crossing Number of <Emphasis Type="Italic">K</Emphasis><Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">m</Emphasis></Subscript> □ <Emphasis Type="Italic">P</Emphasis><Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis></Subscript>

Crossing numbers of graphs are in general very difficult to compute. There are several known exact results on the crossing number of the Cartesian products of paths, cycles or stars with small graphs. In this paper we study cr(K_m □ P_n), the crossing number of the Cartesian product K_m □ P_n. We prove that for m ≥ 3,n ≥ 1 and cr(K_m □ P_n)≥ (n − 1)cr(K_m+2 − e) + 2cr(K_m+1). For m≤ 5, according to Klešč, Jendrol and Ščerbová, the equality holds. In this paper, we also prove that the equality holds for m = 6, i.e., cr(K₆ □ P_n) = 15n + 3. The critical group of <Emphasis Type="Italic">K</Emphasis><Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">m</Emphasis></Subscript> × <Emphasis Type="Italic">C</Emphasis><Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis></Subscript>

In this paper, the structure of the critical group of the graph K _m × C _n is determined, where m, n ≥ 3.     

A characteristic property of the algebra <Emphasis Type="Italic">C</Emphasis>(Ω)<Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">ß</Emphasis></Subscript>

We study some properties of the algebras of continuous functions on a locally compact space whose topology is defined by the family of all multiplication operators (β-uniform algebras). We introduce the notion of a β-amenable algebra and show that a β-uniform algebra is β-amenable if and only if it coincides with the algebra of bounded functions on a locally compact space (an analog of M. V. She?nberg’s theorem for uniform algebras).     

Loop subgroups of <Emphasis Type="Italic">F</Emphasis><Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">r</Emphasis></Subscript> and the image of their stabilizer subgroups in GL<Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">r</Emphasis></Subscript>(ℤ)

For a representative class of subgroups of F _r , the image of their stabilizer subgroup under the action of Aut(F _r ) in GL _r (ℤ) is calculated.     

A Characterization of <Emphasis Type="Italic">PSU</Emphasis><Subscript>3</Subscript>(<Emphasis Type="Italic">q</Emphasis>) for <Emphasis Type="Italic">q</Emphasis> ≥ 5

Based on the prime graph of a finite simple group, its order is the product of its order components (see [4]). We prove that the simple groups PSU₃(q) are uniquely determined by their order components. Our result immediately implies that the Thompsons conjecture and the Wujie Shis conjecture [16] are valid for these groups.AMS Subject Classification: 20D05, 20D60     

Convergence in <Emphasis Type="Italic">L</Emphasis><Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">p</Emphasis></Subscript>([0, <Emphasis Type="Italic">T</Emphasis>]) of Wavelet Expansions of <Emphasis Type="Italic">φ</Emphasis>-Sub-Gaussian Random Processes

The article presents new results on convergence in L _p ([0,T]) of wavelet expansions of φ-sub-Gaussian random processes. The convergence rate of the expansions is obtained. Specifications of the obtained results are discussed.     

Derivatives for smooth representations of <Emphasis Type="Italic">GL</Emphasis>(<Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis>, ℝ) and <Emphasis Type="Italic">GL</Emphasis>(<Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis>, ℂ)

The notion of derivatives for smooth representations of GL(n, ? _p ) was defined in [BZ77]. In the archimedean case, an analog of the highest derivative was defined for irreducible unitary representations in [Sah89] and called the “adduced” representation. In this paper we define derivatives of all orders for smooth admissible Fréchet representations of moderate growth. The real case is more problematic than the p-adic case; for example, arbitrary derivatives need not be admissible. However, the highest derivative continues being admissible, and for irreducible unitarizable representations coincides with the space of smooth vectors of the adduced representation.In the companion paper [AGS] we prove exactness of the highest derivative functor, and compute highest derivatives of all monomial representations.We apply those results to finish the computation of adduced representations for all irreducible unitary representations and to prove uniqueness of degenerate Whittaker models for unitary representations, thus completing the results of [Sah89, Sah90, SaSt90, GS13a].     

An efficient calculation of the Clausen functions Cl<Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis></Subscript>(<Emphasis Type="Italic">θ</Emphasis>)(<Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis>≥2)

The Clausen functions appear in many problems, such as in the computation of singular integrals, quantum field theory, and so on. In this paper, we consider the Clausen functions Cl _n (θ) with n≥2. An efficient algorithm for evaluating them is suggested and the corresponding convergence analysis is established. Finally, some numerical examples are presented to show the efficiency of our algorithm.     

On ℤ<Subscript>2</Subscript>-graded identities of the super tensor product of <Emphasis Type="Italic">UT</Emphasis><Subscript>2</Subscript>(<Emphasis Type="Italic">F</Emphasis>) by the Grassmann algebra

Let F be a field of characteristic zero and E be the unitary Grassmann algebra generated over an infinite-dimensional F-vector space L. Denote by \(\mathcal{E} = \mathcal{E}^{(0)} \oplus \mathcal{E}^{(1)}\) an arbitrary ?₂-grading of E such that the subspace L is homogeneous. Given a superalgebra A = A ⁽⁰⁾ ⊕ A ⁽¹⁾, define the superalgebra \(A\hat \otimes \mathcal{E}\) by \(A\hat \otimes \mathcal{E} = (A^{(0)} \otimes \mathcal{E}^{(0)} ) \oplus (A^{(1)} \otimes \mathcal{E}^{(1)} )\). Note that when E is the canonical grading of E then \(A\hat \otimes \mathcal{E}\) is the Grassmann envelope of A. In this work we find bases of ?₂-graded identities and we describe the ?₂-graded codimension and cocharacter sequences for the superalgebras \(UT_2 (F)\hat \otimes \mathcal{E}\), when the algebra UT ₂(F) of 2 ×2 upper triangular matrices over F is endowed with its canonical grading.     

On Lie’s problem and differential invariants of ODEs <Emphasis Type="Italic">y</Emphasis>″ = <Emphasis Type="Italic">F</Emphasis>(<Emphasis Type="Italic">x</Emphasis>, <Emphasis Type="Italic">y</Emphasis>)

A point classification of ordinary differential equations of the form y″ = F(x, y) is considered. The algebra of differential invariants of the action of the point symmetry pseudogroup on the right-hand sides of equations of the form y″ = F(x, y) is calculated, and Lie’s problem on the point equivalence of such equations is solved.

Sufficient conditions for the blow-up of nontrivial generalized solutions of the interior Dirichlet problem with homogeneous boundary condition for the homogeneous elliptic-type equation Δu + q(x)u = 0, where either q(x) ≠ const or q(x) = const= λ > 0, are obtained. A priori upper bounds (Theorem 4 and Remark 6) for the exact constants in the well-known Sobolev and Steklov inequalities are established.
