The initial boundary value problem of a class of reaction-diffusion systems(coupled parabolic systems)with nonlinear coupled source terms is considered in order to classify the initial data for the global existence,finite time blowup and long time decay of the solution.The whole study is conducted by considering three cases according to initial energy:the low initial energy case,critical initial energy case and high initial energy case.For the low initial energy case and critical initial energy case the sufficient initial conditions of global existence,long time decay and finite time blowup are given to show a sharp-like condition.In addition,for the high initial energy case the possibility of both global existence and finite time blowup is proved first,and then some sufficient initial conditions of finite time blowup and global existence are obtained,respectively.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a semilinear Petrovsky equation with damping and source terms. It is proved that the solution blows up in finite time if the positive initial energy satisfies a suitable condition. Moreover for the linear damping case, we show that the solution blows up in finite time even for vanishing initial energy. This is an important breakthrough, since it is only well known that the solution blows up in finite time if the initial energy is negative from all the previous literature.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider an initial–boundary value problem to a riser vibrating with dissipative term in the equation. It is proved that under suitable conditions that the solution with a negative initial energy blows up in finite time. In this work, we consider a nonlinear coupled wave equations with initial‐boundary value conditions and nonlinear damping and source terms. Under suitable assumptions on the damping terms and source terms and initial data in the stable set, we obtain that the decay estimates of the energy function is exponential or polynomial by using Nakao's method. In this paper, we study, by means of a modification of the weighted energy method, the questions of uniqueness and growth of weak solutions to evolutionary equations of the form utt = Mu where M is a symmetric operator and u takes values in a Hilbert space. We show that if the initial energy is negative, then the kinetic and potential energies have exponential growth. This is also the case when the initial energy is nonnegative provided it is not too large and the cosine of the angle between the initial displacement and initial velocity is sufficiently close to one.We also derive a continuous dependence result.  相似文献

The setpoint model of human metabolic adaption to diet-induced weight loss has been introduced and examined considering a constant energy density in the body weight lost. Body composition analysis indicates that the ratio of fat and nonfat lost is constant for an individual but is dependent on the initial percent body fat, producing an energy density varying from individual to individual. In this study, body composition and the setpoint model are used to examine weight loss dynamics. Comparison is made to a Harris-Benedict (HB) based model using a nominal energy density (3500 calories/lb). Conclusions: the weight dynamics for a given reduction in calorie intake are completely determined by the initial percentage of body fat. The HB model is predicted to accurately track the weight loss for the very obese who experience little metabolic adaption and whose energy density is close to the nominal value. However, for subjects with decreased initial body fat percentage, the HB model first underestimates then overestimates the weight loss. The crossover time and the maximum overestimate is dependent on the initial body fat percent and the percent dietary calorie reduction. A characteristic time and an energy density ratio are defined and used to calculate a maximum rate of weight loss for a given calorie reduction.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a class of semi-linear edge degenerate parabolic equation with singular potentials, which was proposed by Chen and Liu [Asymptotic stability and blow-up of solutions for semi-linear edge-degenerate parabolic equation with singular potentials. Discrete Contin. Dyn. Syst. 2016; 26:661–682.] in which the authors proved the solutions of the model blow up in finite time with low initial energy and critical initial energy. By constructing a new functional, we obtain a new blow-up condition, which demonstrates the possibility of finite time blow-up when the initial energy is larger than the critical initial energy.  相似文献

The initial boundary value problem for a system of viscoelastic wave equations of Kirchhoff type with the nonlinear damping and the source terms in a bounded domain is considered. We prove that, under suitable conditions on the nonlinearity of the damping and the source terms and certain initial data in the stable set and for a wider class of relaxation functions, the decay estimates of the energy function is exponential or polynomial depending on the exponents of the damping terms in both equations by using Nakao’s method. Conversely, for certain initial data in the unstable set, we obtain the blow-up of solutions in finite time when the initial energy is nonnegative. It is well known that for the subcritical semilinear heat equation, negative initial energy is a sufficient condition for finite time blowup of the solution. We show that this is no longer true when the energy functional is replaced with the Nehari functional, thus answering negatively a question left open by Gazzola and Weth (2005). Our proof proceeds by showing that the local stable manifold of any non-zero steady state solution intersects the Nehari manifold transversally. As a consequence, there exist solutions converging to any given steady state, with initial Nehari energy either negative or positive.  相似文献

The initial-boundary value problem for a system of Petrovsky equations with memory and nonlinear source terms in bounded domain is studied. The existence of global solutions for this problem is proved by constructing a stable set, and obtain the exponential decay estimate of global solutions. We study the long time existence theory for a non local flow associated to a free boundary problem for a trapped non liquid drop. The drop has free boundary components on two horizontal plates and its free energy is anisotropic and axially symmetric. For axially symmetric initial surfaces with sufficiently large volume in comparison with their initial surface energy, we show that the flow exists for all time. Numerical simulations of the curvature flow are presented.  相似文献

We give an elementary proof of the convergence of the point vortex method (PVM) to a classical weak solution for the two-dimensional incompressible Euler equations with initial vorticity being a finite Radon measure of distinguished sign and the initial velocity of locally bounded energy. This includes the important example of vortex sheets, which exhibits the classical Kelvin-Helmholtz instability. A surprise fact is that although the velocity fields generated by the point vortex method do not have bounded local kinetic energy, the limiting velocity field is shown to have a bounded local kinetic energy.

The finite time blow-up of solutions to a nonlinear Timoshenko-type equation with variable exponents is studied. More concretely, we prove that the solutions blow up in finite time with positive initial energy. Also, the existence of finite time blow-up solutions with arbitrarily high initial energy is established. Meanwhile, the upper and lower bounds of the blow-up time are derived. This paper is concerned with global nonexistence of solutions for a logarithmic wave equation with nonlinear damping and distributed delay terms. Due to the simultaneous presence of nonlinear damping and logarithmic source terms, we have difficulty in use of the concavity method.
