Deduction of the quantum numbers of low-lying states of the (e+e+e−e−) system from symmetry consideration

The features of the low-lying spectrum and the complete set of quantum numbers of each of the low-lying states of a (e⁺e⁺e⁻e⁻) system have been deduced based on symmetry.     

Search for the e + e − → K ± K S π ∓ process on the VEPP-2M e + e − collider

We report on the results of the search for the e ⁺ e ^? → K ^± K _S π ^? process. Data with an integrated luminosity of 1.36 pb^?1 collected in experiment with a spherical neutral detector (SND) on the VEPP-2M e ⁺ e ^? collider in the energy range from 1.36 to 1.38 GeV have been analyzed. The upper limits of the σ < 150 pb cross sections of the sought process have been established for an energy of 1.37 GeV at a confidence level of 90%.     

On the role of the Δ(1232) on the transverse nuclear response in the (e,e′) reaction

The transverse nuclear response to an electromagnetic probe which is limited to create (or destroy) a particle-hole (ph) or delta-hole (Δh) pair is analyzed. Correlations of the random phase approximation (RPA) type and self-energy insertions are considered. For RPA correlations we have developed a scheme which includes explicitly the Δ and the exchange terms. Self-energy insertions over ph and Δh bubbles are studied. Several residual interactions based on a contact plus a (π + ϱ)-meson exchange potential are used. All calculations are performed in non-relativistic nuclear matter. The main effect of the Δ is to reduce the intensity over the nuclear quasi-elastic peak. Exchange RPA terms are very important, while the terms with self-energy insertions depend strongly on the residual interaction employed. Our results are compared with data for ⁴⁰Ca at momentum transfer q = 410 and q = 550 MeV/c, where the longitudinal response is also briefly discussed.     

Inclusive Production Λc in the e+e− - Annihilation

In the framework of the quark-diquark model of baryons, Λ_c can be considered as constituent c quark and ud diquark. In hadronizasion process baryon Λ_c can be produced from ud scalar diquark and c quark fragmentation. So in this work, in the lowest order of perturbative QCD, fragmentation functions c → Λ_c and ud → Λ_c are calculated and finally in the electron-positron annihilation in LEP, the inclusive cross section production of Λ_c is calculated about pole of z⁰.     

Radiative production of the lightest neutralino in e + e − annihilation

The production of the lightest stable neutralino in the process including general mixing of gauginos and Higgsinos is studied. General formulas for the differential cross section are presented. The dependence of the differential cross section on the photon energy spectrum and also the dependence of the total cross section on the beam energies for three different mixing scenarios are illustrated. Charge-exchange processes in the quasi-elastic (e,e′p) and (e,e′n) reactions

Calculations of charge-exchange processes in the final state of the quasi-elastic (e, e′N) reaction have been performed employing the Lane formalism. The Lane equations were decoupled by means of a transformation to the isospin representation. It is found that charge exchange has a small effect on the (e, e′p) cross section, but may play an appreciable role in the (e, e′n) reaction.     

Application of the HKS in the identification of kaons produced in the reaction （e,e＇K^＋）

At Jefferson Laboratory the experiment E02-017 was carried out to investigate the fission associated with kaons in the hypernuclei-producing interaction p（e,K^＋e＇）A. The newly installed high resolution kaon spectrometer （HKS） in Hall C was used as a key instrument to identify kaons. This paper introduces the HKS hardware and describes the way the kaons are identified. Maintaining most of the kaons （nearly 100%） in the data, HKS identifies kaons with a purity of -67% in this experiment. The resolution of the kaon target time reconstructed by HKS reaches 0.42 ns.     

The process e + e − → ωπ0 near the Φ resonance

The reaction e ⁺ e ^?→ωπ⁰ near a Φ resonance was studied with a spherical neutral detector at VEPP-2M e ⁺ e ^? collider. Both main modes of decay of a ω meson were investigated: ω→π⁺π^?π⁰ and ω→π ⁰γ. The probability of decay Φ→ωπ⁰ was obtained from the magnitude of the interference wave in the cross section for the reaction e ⁺ e ^?→ωπ⁰→ π⁺π^?π⁰π⁰: B(Φ→ωπ⁰) = (5.5 _?1.4 ^+1.6 ±0.3) ×10^?5. The ratio of the partial widths of the ω meson was obtained from the ratio of the cross sections for the two modes: Γ(ω→π⁰γ )/Γ(ω→π⁺π^?π⁰) = 0.0994 ± 0.0036 ± 0.0038.     

First measurement of the exclusive (p,e+e−) reaction

We present the first data on the exclusive (p,e⁺e⁻) reaction in a nucleus. Cross sections for populating the ground state and first excited state in the residual nucleus are presented for the reaction ¹¹B(p, e⁺e⁻)¹²C at 98 MeV. The e⁺e⁻ momentum vectors were measured with a high-resolution magnetic pair spectrometer. The distributions of the virtual photon invariant mass and of the direction of the electron in the virtual photon rest system are compared with a simple single-nucleon model. The (p,e⁺e⁻) cross sections are compared with corresponding data for the (p, γ) reaction obtained with the same apparatus. The (p,e⁺e⁻) cross sections show substantial enhancement over what is expected from the simple model.     

Four-jet events in e+e− annihilation: Testing the three-gluon vertex

The distribution of the azimuthal angle between the planes formed by the two highest energy jets and the two lowest energy jets in four-jet events of e⁺e⁻ annihilation, depends characteristically on the triple-gluon vertex.
