This paper presents a generalization of a theorem of Saltman on the existence of generic extensions with group AG over an infinite field K, where A is abelian, using less restrictive requirements on A and G. The method is constructive, thereby allowing the explicit construction of generic polynomials for those groups, and it gives new bounds on the generic dimension.Generic polynomials for several small groups are constructed.  相似文献

In the present paper, we introduce the generic extension graph G of a Dynkin or cyclic quiver Q and then compare this graph with the crystal graph C for the quantized enveloping algebra associated to Q via two maps ℘Q, Q : Ω → ΛQ induced by generic extensions and Kashiwara operators, respectively, where ΛQ is the set of isoclasses of nilpotent representations of Q, and Ω is the set of all words on the alphabet I, the vertex set of Q. We prove that, if Q is a (finite or infinite) linear quiver, then the intersection of the fibres ℘Q−1 (λ) and KQ−1 (λ) is non-empty for every λ ∈ Λ Q. We will also show that this non-emptyness property fails for cyclic quivers.  相似文献

Nagata conjectured that every M-space is homeomorphic to a closed subspace of the product of a countably compact space and a metric space. Although this conjecture was refuted by Burke and van Douwen, and A. Kato, independently, but we can show that there is a c.c.c. poset P of size ω2 such that in VP Nagata's conjecture holds for each first countable regular space from the ground model (i.e. if a first countable regular space XV is an M-space in VP then it is homeomorphic to a closed subspace of the product of a countably compact space and a metric space in VP). By a result of Morita, it is enough to show that every first countable regular space from the ground model has a first countable countably compact extension in VP. As a corollary, we also obtain that every first countable regular space from the ground model has a maximal first countable extension in model VP.  相似文献

Continuing the work in Ralston and Troubetzkoy (J Mod Dyn 6:477–497, 2012), we show that within each stratum of translation surfaces, there is a residual set of surfaces for which the geodesic flow in almost every direction is ergodic for almost-every periodic group extension produced using a technique referred to as cuts.  相似文献

The existence of a Picard-Vessiot extension for a homogeneous linear differential equation has been established when the differential field over which the equation is defined has an algebraically closed field of constants. In this paper, we prove the existence of a Picard-Vessiot extension for a homogeneous linear differential equation defined over a real differential field K with real closed field of constants. We give an adequate definition of the differential Galois group of a Picard-Vessiot extension of a real differential field with real closed field of constants and we prove a Galois correspondence theorem for such a Picard-Vessiot extension.  相似文献

For any partial groupoid , let Fr be the free extension of to a total groupoid. We show that implies and that the theory of Fr is uniformly recursive in the theory of . These results fail if “groupoid” is replaced by “semigroup”, “commutative semigroup”, “group”, “abelian group”, “semilattice”, “K-lattice” for any nontrivial varietyK of lattices, or “Boolean algebra”. Let $\mathrm{Diff }^1(M)$ be the set of all $C^1$ -diffeomorphisms $f:M\rightarrow M$ , where $M$ is a compact boundaryless d-dimensional manifold, $d\ge 2$ . We prove that there is a residual subset $\mathfrak R $ of $\mathrm{Diff }^1(M)$ such that if $f\in \mathfrak R $ and if $H(p)$ is the homoclinic class associated with a hyperbolic periodic point $p$ , then either $H(p)$ admits a dominated splitting of the form $E\oplus F_1\oplus \dots \oplus F_k\oplus G$ , where $F_i$ is not hyperbolic and one-dimensional, or $f|_{H(p)}$ has no symbolic extensions.  相似文献

Following the pioneering work of Kierstead, we present here some complexity results about the construction of depth-first greedy linear extensions. We prove that the recognition of Dilworth partially ordered sets of height 2, as defined by Syslo, is NP-complete. This last result yields a new proof of the NP-completeness of the jump number problem, first proved by Pulleyblank.  相似文献
