In this paper, a two-scale higher-order finite element discretization scheme is proposed and analyzed for a Schroedinger equation on tensor product domains. With the scheme, the solution of the eigenvalue problem on a fine grid can be reduced to an eigenvalue problem on a much coarser grid together with some eigenvalue problems on partially fine grids. It is shown theoretically and numerically that the proposed two-scale higher-order scheme not only significantly reduces the number of degrees of freedom but also produces very accurate approximations.  相似文献

The numerical analysis is based on the regularity that is also obtained in this paper for the Schroedinger equations. We assume that the nonlinear Schroedinger equation with sufficiently general nonlinearity admits solutions of the soliton type. The Cauchy problem with initial data close to a soliton is considered. We also assume that the linearization of the equation in the vicinity of the soliton possesses only a real spectrum. The main result claims that the asymptotic behavior of the solution as t→+∞ is given by the sum of a soliton with deformed parameters and a dispersive tail, i.e., a solution of the linear Schroedinger equation. Using a variational method, a new model of the nonlinear propagation of optical solitons generated from semiconductor lasers through lossy elliptically low birefringent fiber, is presented within the framework of a system of coupled nonlinear Schroedinger (CNLS) equations with oscillating terms. This analytic model demonstrates polarized soliton oscillations in a lossy elliptically low birefringent optical fiber.  相似文献

Let H be a Schroedinger operator on R^n. Under a polynomial decay condition for the kernel of its spectral operator, we show that the Besov spaces and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces associated with H are well defined. We further give a Littlewood-Paley characterization of Lp spaces in terms of dyadic functions of H. This generalizes and strengthens the previous result when the heat kernel of H satisfies certain upper Gaussian bound.  相似文献
