LetS be a topological semigroup andAP(S) the space of continous complex almost periodic functions onS. We obtain characterizations of compact and weakly compact operators from a Banach spaceX into AP(S). For this we use the almost periodic compactification ofS obtained through uniform spaces. For a bounded linear operatorT fromX into AP(S), letT 5, be the translate ofT bys inS defined byT 5(x)=(Tx) 5 . We define topologies on the space of bounded linear operators fromX into AP(S) and obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions for an operatorT to be compact or weakly compact in terms of the uniform continuity of the mapsT 5. IfS is a Hausdorff topological semigroup, we also obtain characterizations of compact and weakly compact multipliers on AP(S) in terms of the uniform continuity of the map S→μs, where μs denotes the unique vector measure corresponding to the operatorT 5.  相似文献

A non-singular C 1 vector field X of a closed 3-manifold M generating a flow induces a flow of the bundle N X orthogonal to X. This flow further induces a flow of the projectivized bundle of N X. In this paper, we assume that the projectivized bundle is a trivial bundle, and study the lift of to the infinite cyclic covering . We prove that the flow is not minimal, and construct an example of such that has a dense orbit. If is almost periodic and minimal, then is shown to be classified into three cases: (1) All the orbits of are bounded. (2) All the orbits of are proper. (3) is transitive. Let (X,T) be a topological dynamical system and F be a Furstenberg family (a collection of subsets of Z+ with hereditary upward property). A point xX is called an F-transitive one if {nZ+:TnxU}∈F for every non-empty open subset U of X; the system (X,T) is called F-point transitive if there exists some F-transitive point. In this paper, we aim to classify transitive systems by F-point transitivity. Among other things, it is shown that (X,T) is a weakly mixing E-system (resp. weakly mixing M-system, HY-system) if and only if it is {D-sets}-point transitive (resp. {central sets}-point transitive, {weakly thick sets}-point transitive). It is shown that every weakly mixing system is Fip-point transitive, while we construct an Fip-point transitive system which is not weakly mixing. As applications, we show that every transitive system with dense small periodic sets is disjoint from every totally minimal system and a system is Δ?(Fwt)-transitive if and only if it is weakly disjoint from every P-system.  相似文献

Let X be an infinite-dimensional real reflexive Banach space such that X and its dual X* are locally uniformly convex. Suppose that T: X?D(T) → 2 X * is a maximal monotone multi-valued operator and C: X?D(C) → X* is a generalized pseudomonotone quasibounded operator with L ? D(C), where L is a dense subspace of X. Applying a recent degree theory of Kartsatos and Skrypnik, we establish the existence of an eigensolution to the nonlinear inclusion 0 ∈ T x + λ C x , with a regularization method by means of the duality operator. Moreover, possible branches of eigensolutions to the above inclusion are discussed. Furthermore, we give a surjectivity result about the operator λT + C when λ is not an eigenvalue for the pair (T, C), T being single-valued and densely defined.  相似文献

Malliavin's celebrated theorem on the failure of spectral synthesis for the Fourier algebra A(G) on nondiscrete abelian groups was strengthened to give failure of weak synthesis by Parthasarathy and Varma. We extend this to nonabelian groups by proving that weak synthesis holds for A(G) if and only if G is discrete. We give the injection theorem and the inverse projection theorem for weak X-spectral synthesis, as well as a condition for the union of two weak X-spectral sets to be weak X-spectral for an A(G)-submodule X of VN(G). Relations between weak X-synthesis in A(G) and A(G×G) and the Varopoulos algebra V(G) are explored. The concept of operator synthesis was introduced by Arveson. We extend several recent investigations on operator synthesis by defining and studying, for a V(G)-submodule M of B(L2(G)), sets of weak M-operator synthesis. Relations between X-Ditkin sets and M-operator Ditkin sets and between weak X-spectral synthesis and weak M-operator synthesis are explored.  相似文献

In this paper, we define robust weak ergodicity and study the relation between robust weak ergodicity and stable ergodicity for conservative partially hyperbolic systems. We prove that a Cr(r > 1) conservative partially hyperbolic diffeomorphism is stably ergodic if it is robustly weakly ergodic and has positive (or negative) central exponents on a positive measure set. Furthermore, if the condition of robust weak ergodicity is replaced by weak ergodicity, then the diffeomophism is an almost stably ergodic system. Additionally, we show in dimension three, a Cr(r > 1) conservative partially hyperbolic diffeomorphism can be approximated by stably ergodic systems if it is robustly weakly ergodic and robustly has non-zero central exponents.  相似文献

Let S be a foundation locally compact topological semigroup. Two new topologies τ c and τ w are introduced on M a (S)*. We introduce τ c and τ w almost periodic functionals in M a (S)*. We study these classes and compare them with each other and with the norm almost periodic and weakly almost periodic functionals. For fM a (S)*, it is proved that T f ∈ℬ(M a (S),M a (S)*) is strong almost periodic if and only if f is τ c -almost periodic. Indeed, we have obtained a generalization of a well known result of Crombez for locally compact group to a more general setting of foundation topological semigroups. Finally if P(S) (the set of all probability measures in M a (S)) has the semiright invariant isometry property, it is shown that the set of τ w -almost periodic functionals has a topological left invariant mean.  相似文献

Let X and Y be Banach spaces. A set (the space of all weakly compact operators from X into Y) is weakly equicompact if, for every bounded sequence (x n) in X, there exists a subsequence (x k(n)) so that (Txk(n)) is uniformly weakly convergent for TM. In this paper, the notion of weakly equicompact set is used to obtain characterizations of spaces X such that X ↩̸ ℓ1, of spaces X such that B X* is weak* sequentially compact and also to obtain several results concerning to the weak operator and the strong operator topologies. As another application of weak equicompactness, we conclude a characterization of relatively compact sets in when this space is endowed with the topology of uniform convergence on the class of all weakly null sequences. Finally, we show that similar arguments can be applied to the study of uniformly completely continuous sets. Received: 5 July 2006  相似文献

Let X and Y be Banach spaces. We say that a set (the space of all weakly compact operators from X into Y) is weakly equicompact if, for every bounded sequence (xn) in X, there exists a subsequence (xk(n)) so that (Txk(n)) is weakly uniformly convergent for TM. We study some properties of weakly equicompact sets and, among other results, we prove: 1) if is collectively weakly compact, then M* is weakly equicompact iff M** x**={T** x** : TM} is relatively compact in Y for every x**X**; 2) weakly equicompact sets are precompact in for the topology of uniform convergence on the weakly null sequences in X. A bounded linear operator T acting on a Banach space B is called weakly hypercyclic if there exists xB such that the orbit is weakly dense in B and T is called weakly supercyclic if there is xB for which the projective orbit is weakly dense in B. If weak density is replaced by weak sequential density, then T is said to be weakly sequentially hypercyclic or supercyclic, respectively. It is shown that on a separable Hilbert space there are weakly supercyclic operators which are not weakly sequentially supercyclic. This is achieved by constructing a Borel probability measure μ on the unit circle for which the Fourier coefficients vanish at infinity and the multiplication operator Mf(z)=zf(z) acting on L2(μ) is weakly supercyclic. It is not weakly sequentially supercyclic, since the projective orbit under M of each element in L2(μ) is weakly sequentially closed. This answers a question posed by Bayart and Matheron. It is proved that the bilateral shift on ?p(Z), 1?p<∞, is weakly supercyclic if and only if 2<p<∞ and that any weakly supercyclic weighted bilateral shift on ?p(Z) for 1?p?2 is norm supercyclic. It is also shown that any weakly hypercyclic weighted bilateral shift on ?p(Z) for 1?p<2 is norm hypercyclic, which answers a question of Chan and Sanders.  相似文献

Let X be a weakly complete space i.e. X a complex space endowed with a Ck-smooth, k?0, plurisubharmonic exhaustion function. We give the notion of minimal kernelΣ1=Σ1(X) of X by the following property: xΣ1 if no continuous plurisubharmonic exhaustion function is strictly plurisubharmonic near x. The study of the geometric properties of the minimal kernels is the aim of present paper. After stating that the minimal kernel Σ1 of a weakly complete space can be defined by a single plurisubharmonic exhaustion function ?, called minimal, using the characterization in terms of Bremermann envelopes, we prove the following, crucial, result: if X is a weakly complete manifold and ? a minimal function for X, the nonempty level sets Σc1=Σ1∩{?=c} have the local maximum property. In the last section we discuss the special case of weakly complete surfaces. We prove that if dimcX=2 and c is a regular value of a minimal function ? then the nonempty level sets Σc1=Σ1∩{?=c} are compact spaces foliated by holomorphic curves.  相似文献

Let X be a Banach space and E an order continuous Banach function space over a finite measure μ. We prove that an operator T in the Köthe-Bochner space E(X) is a multiplication operator (by a function in L(μ)) if and only if the equality T(gf,xx)=gT(f),xx holds for every gL(μ), fE(X), xX and xX.  相似文献

Given a space M, a family of sets A of a space X is ordered by M if A={AK:K is a compact subset of M} and KL implies AKAL. We study the class M of spaces which have compact covers ordered by a second countable space. We prove that a space Cp(X) belongs to M if and only if it is a Lindelöf Σ-space. Under MA(ω1), if X is compact and (X×X)\Δ has a compact cover ordered by a Polish space then X is metrizable; here Δ={(x,x):xX} is the diagonal of the space X. Besides, if X is a compact space of countable tightness and X2\Δ belongs to M then X is metrizable in ZFC.We also consider the class M? of spaces X which have a compact cover F ordered by a second countable space with the additional property that, for every compact set PX there exists FF with PF. It is a ZFC result that if X is a compact space and (X×X)\Δ belongs to M? then X is metrizable. We also establish that, under CH, if X is compact and Cp(X) belongs to M? then X is countable.  相似文献

A continuous map of topological spaces X,Y is said to be almost 1-to-1 if the set of the points xX such that f−1(f(x))={x} is dense in X; it is said to be light if pointwise preimages are 0-dimensional. In a previous paper we showed that sometimes almost one-to-one light maps of compact and σ-compact spaces must be homeomorphisms or embeddings. In this paper we introduce a similar notion of an almost d-to-1 map and extend the above results to them and other related maps. In a forthcoming paper we use these results and show that if f is a minimal self-mapping of a 2-manifold then point preimages under f are tree-like continua and either M is a union of 2-tori, or M is a union of Klein bottles permuted by f.  相似文献

Let X, Y be real Banach spaces, T: XYA-proper, and C: XY compact. Section 1 of this paper is devoted to the study of bifurcation and asymptotic bifurcation problems for Eq. (1): Tx ? λCx = 0. In Theorem 1 it is shown that if T(0) = C(0) = 0 and T and C have F-derivatives T0 and C0 at 0 with T0A-proper and injective, then each eigenvalue of T0x ? λC0x = 0 of odd multiplicity is a bifurcation point for Eq. (1). Theorem 2 shows that if T and C have asymptotic derivatives T and C, then each eigenvalue of Tx ? λCx = 0 of odd multiplicity is an asymptotic bifurcation point for Eq. (1). Special cases are treated when Y = X and T = I ? F with Fk-ball-contractive or when YX and T is either of type (S) or of strongly accretive type. Section 2 is devoted to applications of Theorems 1 and 2 to bifurcation problems involving elliptic operators. The usefulness of Theorems 1 and 2 stems from the fact that they are directly applicable to differential eigenvalue problems without the preliminary reduction of Eq. (1) to equivalent problems involving compact operators. Moreover, in some cases they are applicable in situations to which the known bifurcation results are not applicable.  相似文献

Let S be a locally compact semitopological semigroup with measure algebra M(S), M0(S) the set of all probability measures in M(S) and WF(S) the space of weakly almost periodic functionals on M(S)*. Assuming that M0(S) has the semiright invariant isometry property, it is shown that WF(S) has a topological left invariant mean (TLIM) whenever the center of M0(S) is nonempty; in particular if either the center of S is nonempty or S has a left identity, then WF(S) has a TLIM. Finally if, for each M0(S), the mapping v v * of M0(S) into itself is surjective and the center of M0(S) is nonempty, then WF(S) has a TLIM. We also generalize some results from discrete case to topological one.AMS Subject Classification (1991): 43A07  相似文献

The paper presents a new definition of closure operator which encompasses the standard Dikranjan-Giuli notion, as well as the Bourn-Gran notion of normal closure operator. As is well known, any two closure operators C, D in a category may be composed in, within order, two different ways. For a subobject MX one may consider DX(CXM) or DCX(M)(M) as the value at M of a new closure operator DC or D?C, respectively. The two binary operations are linked by a lax middle-interchange law. This paper explores situations in which the law holds strictly.  相似文献

On weak positive supercyclicity   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A bounded linear operator T on a separable complex Banach space X is called weakly supercyclic if there exists a vector xX such that the projective orbit {λT n x: n ∈ ℕ λ ∈ ℂ} is weakly dense in X. Among other results, it is proved that an operator T such that σ p (T *) = 0, is weakly supercyclic if and only if T is positive weakly supercyclic, that is, for every supercyclic vector xX, only considering the positive projective orbit: {rT n x: n ∈ ℂ, r ∈ ℝ+} we obtain a weakly dense subset in X. As a consequence it is established the existence of non-weakly supercyclic vectors (non-trivial) for positive operators defined on an infinite dimensional separable complex Banach space.
