In this paper, a charged single-walled carbon nanotube that surrounded by charged nanoparticles is modeled as a cylindrical shell of electron–ion–dust plasma. By employing the fluid theory for electron–ion–dust plasma, the dispersion relation of the dust ion-acoustic wave oscillations in the composed system is studied. For negatively charged dust particles, with increasing dust charge density, the phase velocity of the dust ion-acoustic wave will increase in comparison to the pure ion-acoustic wave oscillations.  相似文献

The dust grain charging effect on large amplitude ion-acoustic double layers in a dusty plasma are investigated by the numerical calculation. The nonlinear structures of ion-acoustic double layers are examined, showing that the characteristics of the double layer sensitively depend on the dust charging effect, the influence of the ion temperature, the electrostatic potential, and the Mach number. The flow of the plasma current to the surface of dust particles increases the dust charge numbers. The effect of the ion temperature decreases the propagation speed of the ion-acoustic double layers and decreases the dust charge numbers. It is found that rarefactive double layers can propagate in this system. New findings of large amplitude ion-acoustic double layers with the dust charging effect and finite ion temperature in a dusty plasma are predicted  相似文献

Previous considerations of dust acoustic waves is demonstrated to be inconsistent ‐ the required equilibrium state for perturbations was not defined since balance of plasma fluxes was neglecting. The self‐consistent treatment shows that plasma flux perturbations are accompanying any collective waves propagating in dusty plasmas and can play an important role in wave dispersion, wave damping and can create instabilities. This is illustrated by the derivation of dispersion relation for dust acoustic modes taking into account the plasma flux balances and plasma flux perturbations by waves. The result of this approach shows that the dust acoustic waves with linear dependence of wave frequency on the wave number exist only in restricted range of the wave numbers. Only for wave numbers larger than some critical wave number for low frequency modes the frequency can be have approximately a linear dependence on wave number and can be called as dust acoustic wave but the phase velocity of these waves is different from that which can be obtained neglecting the flux balance and depends on grain charge variations which are determined by the balance of fluxes. The presence of plasma fluxes previously neglected is the main typical feature of dusty plasmas. The dispersion relation in the range of small wave numbers is found to be mainly determined by the change of the plasma fluxes and is quite different from that of dust acoustic type, namely it is found to have the same form as the well known dispersion relation for the gravitational instability. This result proves in general way the existence of the collective grain attractions of negatively charged grains for for large distances between them and for any source of ionization. The attraction of grains found from dispersion relation of the dust acoustic branch coincides with that found previously for pair grain interactions using some models for the ionization source. For the existing experiments the effective Jeans length for such attraction is estimated to be about 8 – 10 times larger than the ion Debye length and the effective gravitational constant for the grain attraction is estimated to be several orders of magnitude larger than the usual gravitational constant. The grain attraction at large inter‐grain distances described by the gravitationlike grain instability is considered as the simplest explanation for observed dust cloud clustering, formation of dust structures including the plasma crystals. The theory of ion-acoustic surface wave propagation on the interface between a dusty plasma and a dielectric is presented. Both the constant and variable dust-charge eases are considered. It is found that massive negatively charged dust grains can significantly affect the propagation and damping of the surface waves. Application of the results to surface-wave generated plasmas is discussed  相似文献

The effect of dust size distribution in ultracold quantum dusty plasmas are investigated in this paper. How the dispersion relation and the propagation velocity for the quantum dusty plasma vary with the system parameters and the different dust distribution are studied. It is found that as the Fermi temperature of the dust grains increases the frequency of the wave increases for large wave number dust acoustic wave. The quantum parameter of Hd also increases the frequency of the large wave number dust acoustic wave. It is also found that the frequency ω0 and the propagation velocity v0 of quantum dust acoustic waves all increase as the total number density increases. They are greater for unusual dusty plasmas than those of the usual dusty plasma.  相似文献

Dust ion-acoustic waves propagation in the magnetized dusty plasma including ions, electrons and dust particulates are studied by using kinetic equation. For unbounded and collisionless plasma and in the presence of uniform external magnetic field B0, electrons and ions with Lorentzian distribution function and dust particles with Maxwellian one are considered. Calculating dielectric tensor through the Vlasov equation solution, in the parallel propagation, dispersion relation is derived and suprathermal particle effects on the Landau damping is studied. It is shown that the Landau damping effect vanishes for parallel propagation.  相似文献

The propagation of dust ion-acoustic wave in an inhomogeneous dusty plasma is studied by taking the dust charge fluctuation and collisions into account. It is shown that the dust charge fluctuation brings a phase shift to the wave. Furthermore, because of the presence of dust charge fluctuation, a new damping term rises, which makes the damping more sharply.  相似文献

The electron–positron pair annihilation effects on the dust ion acoustic surface wave are investigated in semi-bounded magnetized electron–positron–ion–dust plasmas. The dispersion relation of the low frequency dust ion acoustic surface wave is obtained by the plasma dielectric function with the specular reflection boundary condition. The results show that the frequency of the dust ion acoustic surface wave is found to be increased with increasing the annihilation of the electron–positron pair. In addition, the group velocity of the dust ion acoustic surface wave is also found to be increased with the annihilation of the electron–positron pair.  相似文献

The linear characteristics of the unstable mode of ion-acoustic waves are examined in an electrostatic electron-ion plasma composed of streaming hot electrons, non-streaming cold electrons and dynamical positive ions. The plasma under consideration is modeled by using a non-gyrotropic nonextensive q-distribution function in which the free energy source for wave excitation is provided by the relative directed motion of streaming hot electrons with respect to the other plasma species. In the frame work of kinetic model, a linearized set of Vlasov–Poisson's equations are solved to obtain the analytical expressions for dispersion relation and Landau damping rate. The threshold condition for the unstable ionacoustic wave is derived to assess the stability of the wave in the presence of nonextensive effects. Growth in the wave spectrum and nontrivial effects of q-nonextensive parameter on the ion-acoustic waves can be of interest for the readers in the regions of Saturns' s magnetosphere.  相似文献

The dispersion and damping of a dust-modified kinetic Alfvén wave, and a lower frequency dust kinetic Alfvén wave, is investigated in a dusty plasma comprising electrons, ions, and negative dust. It is found that, when dust dynamics is neglected, the presence of cold dust modifies the usual kinetic Alfvén wave dispersion and damping owing to the inequality of the electron and ion densities. The dispersion relation of the dust kinetic Alfvén wave, with frequency below the dust cyclotron frequency, depends on the density and temperature parameters of all three species, and the wave damping is due to both electrons and ions.  相似文献

The Landau damping of the dust ion-acoustic wave (DIAW) in a dusty plasma with non-extensive distributed components is analysed relying on the kinetic approach. The electron, ion, and dust particles are effectively modelled by the non-extensive distribution function of the Tsallis statistics. For a collisionless plasma with different values of plasma components indices, the general dispersion relation is achieved, and the non-extensivity effects on the frequency, as well as the Landau damping of the DIAW, are studied. We show that for , the preliminary results of the Maxwellian plasma are obtained. The decrease of wave damping is achieved by increasing the coefficient q index and the ion-to-electron density ratio. The damping rate also increases with an increasing ion-to-electron temperature ratio.  相似文献

The effect of polarization force acting on massive charged dust grains is investigated analytically on the Jeans instability of self-gravitating dusty plasma. The gravitational force acting on the massive negatively charged interstellar dust grains are considered in presence of both electrical and polarization forces. The basic equations of the problem are formulated and a general dispersion relation is obtained using plane wave approximation in low frequency wave mode. The effect of polarization force in the dispersion relation of the problem, condition of the Jeans instability and expression of the critical Jeans wave number is examined. The unstable growing modes due to self-gravitational force are studied in the situation when polarization force on the dust grain exceeds over the electrical force in magnitude. It is observed that the polarization force increases the growth rate of the system.  相似文献

The dispersion relation for general dust low frequency electrostatic surface waves propagating on an interface between a magnetized dusty plasma region and a vacuum is derived by using specular reflection boundary conditions both in classical and quantum regimes. The frequency limit ω«ωci«ωce is considered and the dispersion relation for the Dust-Lower-Hybrid Surface Waves (DLHSW's) is derived for both classical and quantum plasma half-space and analyzed numerically. It is shown that the wave behavior changes as the quantum nature of the problem is considered.  相似文献

In this paper we have theoretically investigated the quantum and relativistic effects on ion plasma wave in an unmagnetised dust-ion plasma. By using the method of normal mode analysis, we have obtained a linear dispersion relation. It has been analysed numerically for quantum and relativistic effects on the propagation of ion plasma wave. By using the standard reductive perturbation technique, we have derived a Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation which describes the nonlinear propagation of the wave. Numerically, it is shown that only compressive type of soliton can exist in the plasma under consideration. It is found that the solitary wave profile depends significantly on the quantum and relativistic parameters. The dust size, dust charge and the dust number density are also shown to have significant influences on these solitary waves. The results of this present investigation have some relevance to the nonlinear propagation of ion plasma wave in some astrophysical, space and laboratory plasma environments.  相似文献

The dispersion relation for ion-acoustic waves in plasma with ion flow has been analyzed. It is shown that these waves may exist (under certain conditions) in the form of backward waves with antiparallel group and phase velocities. The range of ion flow velocities allowing implementation of backward ion-acoustic waves is found.  相似文献

Nonlinear adiabatic models of ion-acoustic waves in a dust plasma are developed. The problem of the structure of subsonic periodic and supersonic solitary ion-acoustic waves is exactly solved analytically under the assumption of a constant charge of dust particles; the critical Mach numbers for the solitary wave are determined. The problem of the wave structure is solved numerically for the case when the charge of dust particles was assumed to be variable.  相似文献

Small amplitude quantum ion-acoustic solitary waves are studied in an unmagnetized two- species relativistic quantum plasma system, comprised of electrons and ions. The one-dimensional quantum hydrodynamic model (QHD) is used to obtain a deformed Korteweg–de Vries (dKdV) equation by reductive perturbation method. A linear dispersion relation is also obtained taking into account the relativistic effect. The properties of quantum ion-acoustic solitary waves, obtained from the deformed KdV equation, are studied taking into account the quantum mechanical effects in the weak relativistic limit. It is found that relativistic effects significantly modify the properties of quantum ion-acoustic waves. Also the effect of the quantum parameter H on the nature of solitary wave solutions is studied in some detail.  相似文献

The oblique propagation of ion-acoustic solitary waves (IASWs) is considered, in a magnetized non-thermal collisional dusty plasma, composed of non-Maxwelian κ-distributed electrons, inertial ions, and stationary dust. The reductive perturbation approach is adopted to derive the damped Korteweg de-Vries (dKdV) equation, and the dissipative oblique ion-acoustic wave properties are investigated in terms of different key plasma parameters via the numerical solution of the dKdV equation. The collisional effect, describing the ion-neutral collision in the plasma, is taken into account, and seen to influence the dynamics of IASWs significantly. The basic features of IASWs are observed to modify, and the polarity of the wave is seen to change due to the variation of dust to that of ion number density and also due to the variation of the supethermality index κ in the considered plasma system.  相似文献

The dispersion relation for the dust acoustic wave (DAW) in an unmagnetized dusty plasma cylindrical waveguide is derived, accounting for strong electrostatic interactions between charged dust grains. It is found that the boundary effect limits the radial extent of the DAW. The present result should be helpful for understanding the frequency spectrum of the DAW in a dusty plasma waveguide with strongly coupled charged dust grains.  相似文献

The association between the modified Korteweg-de Vries solitary wave and the modulationally unstable envelope solitary wave in a weakly relativistic unmagnetized plasma with trapped electrons is discussed. The effect of trapped electrons modifies the nonlinearity of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation and gives rise to the propagation of the modulationally unstable ion-acoustic solitary wave. The amplitude of the envelope solitary wave increases while the number of trapped electrons decreases. The velocity of the solitary wave decreases with increasing ionic temperature and increasing particle velocities. The ion oscillation mode, which satisfies the nonlinear dispersion relation, is also derived. The theory is applied to explain space observations of the solar energetic flows in interplanetary space and of the energetic particle events in the Earth's magnetosphere  相似文献
