On the assumption that investment fund follows the logarithm-normal distribution, the paper derives the forms of proportional and excess-of-loss reinsurance contracts which make the convex combination of the insurer’s rate of return v1 and the reinsurer’s rate of return v2 exceeds R at the probability of f. In the whole paper, the premium takes the expectation principle.  相似文献

In this paper, under the criterion of maximizing the expected exponential utility of terminal wealth, we study the optimal proportional reinsurance and investment policy for an insurer with the compound Poisson claim process. We model the price process of the risky asset to the constant elasticity of variance (for short, CEV) model, and consider net profit condition and variance reinsurance premium principle in our work. Using stochastic control theory, we derive explicit expressions for the optimal policy and value function. And some numerical examples are given.  相似文献

In this paper, the surplus process of the insurance company is described by a Brownian motion with drift. In addition, the insurer is allowed to invest in a risk-free asset and n risky assets and purchase excess-of-loss reinsurance. Under short-selling prohibition, we consider two optimization problems: the problem of maximizing the expected exponential utility of terminal wealth and the problem of minimizing the probability of ruin. We first show that the excess-of-loss reinsurance strategy is always better than the proportional reinsurance under two objective functions. Then, by solving the corresponding Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equations, the closed-form solutions of their optimal value functions and the corresponding optimal strategies are obtained. In particular, when there is no risky-free interest rate, the results indicate that the optimal strategies, under maximizing the expected exponential utility and minimizing the probability of ruin, are equivalent for some special parameter. This validates Ferguson’s longstanding conjecture about the relation between the two problems.  相似文献

This paper considers the optimal investment, consumption and proportional reinsurance strategies for an insurer under model uncertainty. The surplus process of the insurer before investment and consumption is assumed to be a general jump–diffusion process. The financial market consists of one risk-free asset and one risky asset whose price process is also a general jump–diffusion process. We transform the problem equivalently into a two-person zero-sum forward–backward stochastic differential game driven by two-dimensional Lévy noises. The maximum principles for a general form of this game are established to solve our problem. Some special interesting cases are studied by using Malliavin calculus so as to give explicit expressions of the optimal strategies.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the optimal proportional reinsurance and investment strategy for an insurer that only has partial information at its disposal, under the criterion of maximizing the expected utility of the terminal wealth. We assume that the surplus of the insurer is governed by a jump diffusion process, and that reinsurance is used by the insurer to reduce risk. In addition, the insurer can invest in financial markets. We give a characterization for the optimal strategy within a non-Markovian setting. Malliavin calculus for Lévy processes is used for the analysis.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the optimal investment strategy of defined-contribution pension with the stochastic salary. The investor is allowed to invest in a risk-free asset and a risky asset whose price process follows a constant elasticity of variance model. The stochastic salary follows a stochastic differential equation, whose instantaneous volatility changes with the risky asset price all the time. The HJB equation associated with the optimal investment problem is established, and the explicit solution of the corresponding optimization problem for the CARA utility function is obtained by applying power transform and variable change technique. Finally, we present a numerical analysis.  相似文献

An insurance company is modelled by a compound Poisson process and it is assumed that the company has a possibility to purchase an excess of loss reinsurance defined by retention level as well as invest its surplus into a risky asset described by the Black-Scholes model. An optimal survival probability is derived as a solution to the corresponding Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equation. It is proved that any increasing solution to the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equation defines the optimal strategy.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider an optimal financing and dividend control problem of an insurance company. The management of the insurance company controls the dividends payout, equity issuance and the excess-of-loss reinsurance policy. In our model, the dividends are assumed to be paid out continuously, which is of interest from the perspective of financial modeling. The objective is to find the strategy which maximizes the expected present values of the dividends payout minus the equity issuance up to the time of ruin. We solve the optimal control problem and identify the optimal strategy by constructing two categories of suboptimal control problems.  相似文献

Optimal investment and reinsurance of an insurer with model uncertainty   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We introduce a novel approach to optimal investment–reinsurance problems of an insurance company facing model uncertainty via a game theoretic approach. The insurance company invests in a capital market index whose dynamics follow a geometric Brownian motion. The risk process of the company is governed by either a compound Poisson process or its diffusion approximation. The company can also transfer a certain proportion of the insurance risk to a reinsurance company by purchasing reinsurance. The optimal investment–reinsurance problems with model uncertainty are formulated as two-player, zero-sum, stochastic differential games between the insurance company and the market. We provide verification theorems for the Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman–Isaacs (HJBI) solutions to the optimal investment–reinsurance problems and derive closed-form solutions to the problems.  相似文献

This paper focuses on the constant elasticity of variance (CEV) model for studying the optimal investment strategy before and after retirement in a defined contribution pension plan where benefits are paid under the form of annuities; annuities are supposed to be guaranteed during a certain fixed period of time. Using Legendre transform, dual theory and variable change technique, we derive the explicit solutions for the power and exponential utility functions in two different periods (before and after retirement). Each solution contains a modified factor which reflects an investor’s decision to hedge the volatility risk. In order to investigate the influence of the modified factor on the optimal strategy, we analyze the property of the modified factor. The results show that the dynamic behavior of the modified factor for the power utility mainly depends on the time and the investor’s risk aversion coefficient, whereas it only depends on the time in the exponential case.  相似文献

This study examines optimal investment and reinsurance policies for an insurer with the classical surplus process. It assumes that the financial market is driven by a drifted Brownian motion with coefficients modulated by an external Markov process specified by the solution to a stochastic differential equation. The goal of the insurer is to maximize the expected terminal utility. This paper derives the Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman (HJB) equation associated with the control problem using a dynamic programming method. When the insurer admits an exponential utility function, we prove that there exists a unique and smooth solution to the HJB equation. We derive the explicit optimal investment policy by solving the HJB equation. We can also find that the optimal reinsurance policy optimizes a deterministic function. We also obtain the upper bound for ruin probability in finite time for the insurer when the insurer adopts optimal policies.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the problem of optimal investment and proportional reinsurance coverage in the presence of inside information. To be more precise, we consider two firms: an insurer and a reinsurer who are both allowed to invest their surplus in a Black–Scholes‐type financial market. The insurer faces a claims process that is modeled by a Brownian motion with drift and has the possibility to reduce the risk involved with this process by purchasing proportional reinsurance coverage. Moreover, the insurer has some extra information at her disposal concerning the future realizations of her claims process, available from the beginning of the trading interval and hidden from the reinsurer, thus introducing in this way inside information aspects to our model. The optimal investment and proportional reinsurance decision for both firms is determined by the solution of suitable expected utility maximization problems, taking into account explicitly their different information sets. The solution of these problems also determines the reinsurance premia via a partial equilibrium approach.

In this paper, we investigate an optimal reinsurance and investment problem for an insurer whose surplus process is approximated by a drifted Brownian motion. Proportional reinsurance is to hedge the risk of insurance. Interest rate risk and inflation risk are considered. We suppose that the instantaneous nominal interest rate follows an Ornstein–Uhlenbeck process, and the inflation index is given by a generalized Fisher equation. To make the market complete, zero-coupon bonds and Treasury Inflation Protected Securities (TIPS) are included in the market. The financial market consists of cash, zero-coupon bond, TIPS and stock. We employ the stochastic dynamic programming to derive the closed-forms of the optimal reinsurance and investment strategies as well as the optimal utility function under the constant relative risk aversion (CRRA) utility maximization. Sensitivity analysis is given to show the economic behavior of the optimal strategies and optimal utility.  相似文献

This paper investigates the optimal time-consistent policies of an investment-reinsurance problem and an investment-only problem under the mean-variance criterion for an insurer whose surplus process is approximated by a Brownian motion with drift. The financial market considered by the insurer consists of one risk-free asset and multiple risky assets whose price processes follow geometric Brownian motions. A general verification theorem is developed, and explicit closed-form expressions of the optimal polices and the optimal value functions are derived for the two problems. Economic implications and numerical sensitivity analysis are presented for our results. Our main findings are: (i) the optimal time-consistent policies of both problems are independent of their corresponding wealth processes; (ii) the two problems have the same optimal investment policies; (iii) the parameters of the risky assets (the insurance market) have no impact on the optimal reinsurance (investment) policy; (iv) the premium return rate of the insurer does not affect the optimal policies but affects the optimal value functions; (v) reinsurance can increase the mean-variance utility.  相似文献

In this work we investigate the optimal proportional reinsurance-investment strategy of an insurance company which wishes to maximize the expected exponential utility of its terminal wealth in a finite time horizon. Our goal is to extend the classical Cramér–Lundberg model introducing a stochastic factor which affects the intensity of the claims arrival process, described by a Cox process, as well as the insurance and reinsurance premia. The financial market is supposed not influenced by the stochastic factor, hence it is independent on the insurance market. Using the classical stochastic control approach based on the Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman equation we characterize the optimal strategy and provide a verification result for the value function via classical solutions to two backward partial differential equations. Existence and uniqueness of these solutions are discussed. Results under various premium calculation principles are illustrated and a new premium calculation rule is proposed in order to get more realistic strategies and to better fit our stochastic factor model. Finally, numerical simulations are performed to obtain sensitivity analyses.  相似文献
