Yb3+-doped monoclinic yttrium polyphosphate Y(PO3)3 powder compounds were synthesized and were characterized by X-ray diffraction, IR absorption spectroscopy and Raman scattering spectroscopy.An attempt to use Yb3+ ion as structural probe is carried out to investigate the site occupation. Yb3+ emission and fluorescence decay studies were carried out both at low and room temperatures. The interpretation of electronic energy level positions has been done by using the comparison of emission spectra with those of vibronic sideband energy positions from Raman scattering spectroscopy.The spectroscopic results are discussed and correlated with the data of the already known monoclinic structure of Y(PO3)3 where four slightly different octahedral sites are available for the trivalent rare earth ion.  相似文献

A coherently excited nuclear state is carried with a rotating sample so that its radiative decay is redirected by the rotation angle that has developed during its lifetime. As a result, the time spectrum of the nuclear decay is mapped to an angular scale. This effect has been observed in nuclear resonant scattering of synchrotron radiation from a rotating 57Fe metal foil. Applications with respect to elastic and inelastic nuclear resonant scattering are discussed. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Abstract

The characteristics of stored ions in a Kingdon trap have been investigated. The charge distribution of stored ions was measured by a time of flight (TOF) mass spectrometer. Storage of Arq+ (q = 1, 2, 3, 4) produced by electron beam irradiation has been confirmed. The dependences of Ar ion yields on the trapping potential and storage time have been systematically studied.

Applying a voltage to end plates is very important for the storage of ions. Remarkable oscillations of the ion yields are found in the decay curves as a function of storage time for Ar+, Ar2+ and Ar3+ indicating periodical motion of each ion group about the central wire. The three dimensional orbits of ions in the trap are analysed by a computer calculation to understand the experimental results.  相似文献

A model describing the decay of photoinduced oscillations of the optical reflection coefficient R of bismuth is constructed, taking the crystal lattice anharmonicity into account. The decay time of oscillations of R is calculated as a function of the energy density of a laser pulse. The results of calculations explain the experimental data on the anomalously strong decay of oscillations of the optical reflection coefficient of bismuth (the decay time decreases by more than an order of magnitude with an increase in the laser pulse energy density from 0 to 4 mJ/cm2).  相似文献

The elastic scattering differential cross section for 32S incident on 33S at Einc = 91.3 MeV has been measured. The observed backward oscillations are successfully described by explicit inclusion of a parity-dependent term in the real potential for the optical-model calculations of the elastic scattering. To investigate possible sources of the parity-dependent term, the backward oscillations were also interpreted as being produced by the interference between the elastic amplitude and the one-neutron elastic one-step transfer process.  相似文献

Magnetotransport measurements are carried out on the AlGaN/AlN/GaN in an SiC heterostructure, which demonstrates the existence of the high-quality two-dimensional electron gas (2DGE) at the AlN/GaN interface. While the carrier concentration reaches 1.32 × 1013 cm - 2 and stays relatively unchanged with the decreasing temperature, the mobility of the 2DEG increases to 1.21 × 104 cm2/(V·s) at 2 K. The Shubnikov—de Haas (SdH) oscillations are observed in a magnetic field as low as 2.5 T at 2 K. By the measurements and the analyses of the temperature-dependent SdH oscillations, the effective mass of the 2DEG is determined. The ratio of the transport lifetime to the quantum scattering time is 9 in our sample, indicating that small-angle scattering is predominant.  相似文献

Excitation energy spectra and neutron decay of xenon have been measured in extreme forward angle scattering of 250A and 400A MeV 17O ions, using one quadrant of the CELSIUS storage ring as a magnetic spectrometer. The observed excitation energy spectrum, ranging from 12 to 36 MeV, has been compared with Coulomb cross section calculations. Neutron and missing energy spectra are compared with statistical decay calculations using the code CASCADE. In addition to statistical decay from giant resonances and other continuum excitations, a large fraction of forward peaked fast neutrons was observed throughout the entire excitation energy region. A possible reaction mechanism behind these fast neutrons is discussed.  相似文献

The electron-capture decay of 180Re has been investigated to search for oscillations in the decay probability as reported from a recent measurement at GSI, Darmstadt. The production period was kept short compared to the reported oscillation period. No such oscillation was observed, indicating that the reported oscillations would not have been observable in a conventional experiment with radioactive atoms in a solid environment but must have to do with the unique conditions in the GSI experiment where hydrogen-like ions are moving independently in a storage ring and decaying directly by a true two-body decay to a long-lived (ground-)state. Our finding could restrict possible theoretical interpretations of the oscillations.  相似文献

Solar neutrinos from the decay of 8B have been detected at the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory via the charged-current (CC) and neutral-current (NC) reactions on deuterium and by the elastic scattering (ES) of electrons. The CCr eaction is sensitive exclusively to electron neutrinos, the NCr eaction is sensitive to all neutrino species, and the ES reaction also has a small sensitivity to muon and tau neutrinos. These measurements provided strong evidence that neutrinos change flavor as they propagate from the center of the Sun to the Earth at the 5.3σ level. It will also be shown that a global solar neutrino analysis of matter-enhanced neutrino oscillations of two active flavors strongly favors the large mixing angle solution.  相似文献

The small signal analysis for the resonant tunneling diode (RTD) is carried out by using a semiclassical transport theory. Multiple scattering effects are accounted for in an optical approximation by using a complex mean free path. An analytical expression for the conduction current is given. The results show that the negative differential conductance prevails up to the frequency f0 limited by the quantum well transit time. The imaginary part of the admittance can be presented by a series inductance as has been recently found experimentally. In addition, the equivalent circuit has a capacitor in parallel with the conductance-inductance branch. Above f0 the admittance shows an oscillatory behaviour. The oscillations are associated with the quantum well transit time resonances.  相似文献

A computer program for the positive exponential sum method of inverting Laplace transform of photon autocorrelation curves has been written and applied to both simulated and experimental data. The method recovers the decay time spectra from autocorrelation curves by replacing the decay time distribution by a set of delta peaks whose envelope roughly follows this distribution. Spacing of this set becomes slightly denser with decreasing noise and is about two peaks per decade under usual conditions (noise level about 10–3). Occasional irregularities in peak spacing and an appearance of weak artifact peaks in regions where the decay time spectrum is of zero density may make the physical interpretation of results difficult.  相似文献

We have investigated the possibility of reconstructing the top quark charge through measurement of its decay product charges at the ATLAS detector. Verification of the hypothesis about alternative interpretation of top-quark experimental data has been considered as well. The method of “semileptonic B-meson decay” was applied for reconstructing the b-jet charge. A statistical significance of more than 5σ can be achieved using this method after analyzing 1 fb−1 of the t̄t-pairs data. The analysis was carried out with HERWIG and PYTHIA generators and using the GEANT4 detector simulation software package. The text was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献

The charged particle (c) decay from the isoscalar giant quadrupole resonance (GQ0R) in 28Si has been studied in a kinematically complete 28Si(α, α'c) coincidence experiment at Eα = 155 MeV. The α'c coincidence spectra show α- as well as p-decay of the GQ0R and indicate that different parts of the GQ0R have strongly different decay branchings into individual decay channels ci leading to low-lying final states. Coincidence spectra with c-particles detected in anti-quasifree kinematics show that quasifree scattering contributions can be minimized. Angular correlations have been obtained for c = p and α decays into low-lying states of 27Al and 24Mg, respectively. For the α0 decay, interference phenomena have been observed in the angular correlations as well as in the fine structure of the α'-α0 coincidence spectra, indicating contributions from fast direct α0 decay. Direct and statistical decay features of the GQ0R region are discussed on the basis of the measured spectra, angular correlations and deduced branching ratios which are compared to Hauser-Feshbach predictions.  相似文献

In the present paper the surface potential decay after dc corona charging of gamma-irradiated low-density polyethylene (LDPE) has been studied. The irradiation was carried out in air, nitrogen gas and vacuum to investigate the effect of irradiation environment on the surface potential of LDPE. Samples with different absorbed doses were obtained by exposing samples to 60Co for various times at room temperature. It has been found that there is a significant change in the surface potential decay characteristics after different irradiation dose and the surface potential decay pattern depends also on irradiation environment. The possible surface potential decay mechanisms responsible for the above were discussed. The results are useful in the context of long-term performance of electrets.  相似文献

Abstract

Using a diamond anvil cell, high-pressure 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy has been performed with the nuclear forward scattering of synchrotron radiation. A pressure-induced magnetic hyperfine interaction at 57Fe in SrFeO2, 97 has been detected at 44 GPa and 300 K for a first time by a quantum-beat modulation of the decay rate after collective nuclear excitation by the synchrotron pulse. The basic concept and method used to detect nuclear forward scattering with synchrotron radiation are discussed.  相似文献

报道了在Eu2+-Yb3+共掺磷酸盐中,一个紫外光子(320nm)通过下转换发光变成两个近红外光子(约1 000nm)的现象.测试了不同样品的吸收、激发和发射光谱,证明了在本玻璃体系中量子剪裁现象的存在;Eu2+离子5d-4f能级发光的衰减曲线证明Eu2+到Yb3+之间的合作能量传递;用I-H理论模型拟合衰减曲线说明了能量传递的过程.最后计算出了能量传递的效率,当Yb3+浓度为1.0mol%时效率为23.05%,当其增加到2.0mol%时,能量传递效率提高到了53.6%.  相似文献

The time dependence of correlations between the photons emitted from a microcavity with an embedded quantum dot under incoherent pumping is studied theoretically. Analytic expressions for the second-order correlation function g (2)(t) are presented in strong and weak coupling regimes. The qualitative difference between the incoherent and coherent pumping schemes in the strong coupling case is revealed: under incoherent pumping, the correlation function demonstrates pronounced Rabi oscillations, but in the resonant pumping case, these oscillations are suppressed. At high incoherent pumping, the correlations decay monoexponentially. The decay time nonmonotonically depends on the pumping value and has a maximum corresponding to the self-quenching transition.  相似文献

This paper reports on the development and optical analysis of Tb3+‐doped polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) films. A reference PVA film has also been prepared for which X‐ray diffraction (XRD) spectral profile has been carried out; it was found that this polymer possesses a semi crystalline nature. Spectral analysis of the Tb3+:PVA polymer film has been made based on the measurement of the excitation, emission, and decay curves of the emission transitions (5D47F6,5,4&3). Under a UV source (254 nm), a bright green emission was noticed from the surface of Tb3+:PVA film. The current study reveals that this terbium polymer film could be suggested as a novel green luminescent material.  相似文献

A search for free neutron-antineutron oscillations has been carried out at the Pavia Triga Mark II research reactor. A thin carbon target is crossed by a beam of thermal neutrons propagating in a 18.5 m long channel where the earth magnetic field is attenuated by a factor of 50. The total neutron current through the target is 3.2×1010 n/s. Possible antineutron annihilations are identified by a large track detector surrounding the target. A lower limit on the oscillation time of 4.7×105 s (90% C.L.) has been reached.  相似文献
