Suzuki-Miyauru cross-coupling of bromopolypyridines with potassium vinyltrifluoroborate affords vinyl-substituted polypyridyl ligands in moderate to good yields. This reaction allows simple and practical syntheses of numerous vinyl-substituted polypyridines, such as 4'-vinyl-2,2':6',2'-terpyridine, 5,5'-divinyl-2,2'-bipyridine, and 4,4'-divinyl-2,2'-bipyridine. In addition, a new ruthenium complex, [Ru(5,5'-divinyl-2,2'-bipyridine)(3)](2+), was synthesized and found to undergo reductive electropolymerization smoothly.  相似文献

Electrospray ionization (ESI) tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) of ternary copper(II) complexes of [Cu(terpyX)(M)]2+ (where terpyX = is a substituted 2,2':6',2'-terpyridine ligand; M = the nucleobases: adenine, guanine, thymine and cytosine) was examined as a means of forming radical cations of nucleobases in the gas phase. The following substituents were examined: 4'-NMe2-2,2':6',6'-terpyridine; 4'-OH-2,2':6',6'-terpyridine; 4'-F-2,2':6',6'-terpyridine; 2,2':6',6'-terpyridine; 4'-Cl-2,2':6',6'-terpyridine; 4'-Br-2,2':6',6'-terpyridine; 4'-CO2H-2,2':6',6'-terpyridine; 4'-NO2-2,2':6',6'-terpyridine and 6,6'-dibromo-2',2:6',2'-terpyridine. Each of the ternary complexes [Cu(terpyX)(M)]2+ was mass selected and subjected to collision induced dissociation (CID) in a quadrupole ion trap. The types of fragmentation reactions observed for these complexes depend on the nature of the substituent on the terpyridine ligand, while the yields of the radical cations of the nucleobases follow the order of their ionization energies (IEs): G (lowest IE) > A > C > T (highest IE). In general, radical cation formation is favoured for electron withdrawing substituents (e.g. NO2) while loss of the neutral nucleobase is favoured for electron donating substituents (e.g. NMe2). Loss of the protonated nucleobase is a major fragmentation pathway for the OH substituted terpyridine system, consistent with its ability to bind to a metal centre as a deprotonated ligand. Crystal structure determinations of (6,6'-dibromo-2',2:6',2'-terpyridine)bis(nitrato)copper(II) and diaqua(4'-oxo-2,2':6',6'-terpyridine)copper(II) nitrate monohydrate were performed and correlated with the ESI results.  相似文献

This paper describes the synthesis of a new series of molecules composed of a ruthenium cation liganded by a chloro or a thiocyanato, a 4,4'-(diethoxycarbonyl)-2,2'-bipyridine, and a 2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine substituted in its 4' position by a difluoroborazaindacene or a zinc phthalocyanine. A set of conditions are reported to conveniently synthesize these dyads by a Stille cross-coupling reaction between the trimethyltin derivative of the organic chromophore and the corresponding ruthenium complex with 4'-bromo-2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine and 4,4'-(diethoxycarbonyl)-2,2'-bipyridine. The dyads were studied by UV-visible absorption spectroscopy, steady-state fluorescence, and electrochemistry. The results of these studies indicate strong electronic coupling between the zinc phthalocyanine unit and the ruthenium complex but weakly electronically coupled systems in the case of dyads containing a difluoroborazaindacene unit. The new bichromophoric systems display strong absorbance in the visible spectrum. An efficient quenching of the fluorescence of the organic chromophore by the nearby ruthenium complex was also observed in all of the dyads. In dyads connected to the borazaindacene, excitation spectra indicate efficient photoinduced energy transfer from the borazaindacene to the ruthenium complex.  相似文献

The 15N NMR data for 105 complexes of Pd(II), Pt(II), Au(III), Co(III), Rh(III), Ir(III), Pd(IV), and Pt(IV) complexes with simple azines such as pyridine, 2,2'-bipyridine, 1,10-phenanthroline, quinoline, isoquinoline, 2,2'-biquinoline, 2,2':6', 2'-terpyridine and their alkyl or aryl derivatives have been reviewed. The 15N NMR coordination shifts, i.e. the differences between the 15N chemical shifts of the same nitrogen in the molecules of the complex and the ligand (Delta(15N) (coord) = delta(15N) (compl)--delta(15N) (lig)), have been related to some structural features of the reviewed coordination compounds, like the type of the central ion and the character of auxiliary ligands (mainly in trans position). These Delta(15N) (coord) parameters are negative, their absolute magnitudes (ca 30-150 ppm) generally increasing in the metal order Au(III) < Pd(II) < Pt(II) and Rh(III) < Co(III) < Pt(IV) < Ir(III), as well as with the enhanced trans influence of the other donor atoms (H, C < Cl < N).  相似文献

Monolayers of [Ru(bpy)2(micro-1)M2][PF6]4 salts (M = Os, Ru; bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine, 1 = 4'-(2,2'-bipyridin-4-yl)-2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine, tpy = 2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine, and 2 = 4'-(4-pyridyl)-2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine) were self-assembled on platinum and investigated by fast-scan electrochemistry. The electrochemistry of the complexes in solution and confined to the surface in self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) exhibited an almost ideal behavior. Scan-rate-dependent measurements of the peak current density (jp) were used to determine interaction energies within the monolayer. It is shown that the tpy coordination sites of the dinuclear complexes interact more strongly within the SAM than the bipyridine-coordinated fragments. This result was supported by peak potential shifts, which are due to interaction forces in SAMs. The alignment of the rodlike complexes relative to the surface is discussed, and the results of molecular mechanics calculations indicate that the species adopt a tilted orientation.  相似文献

Hydrogenation of chiral 2,2'-functionalized 1,1'-binaphthyls with Pd and Ru solid-supported metal catalysts was found to be a clean and convenient pathway to 5,5',6,6',7,7',8,8'-octahydro-1,1'-dinaphthyl derivatives. Soluble and rigid terpyridine-based ditopic ligands bearing one to five phenylene/ethynylene modules have been synthesized by way of a stepwise procedure. Each module is attached to the terpyridine unit via an ethynylene fragment and functionalized at the 4-position with an additional ethynylene connector and in the 2,5-positions with two flexible dodecyloxy chains. The synthetic protocol is based on sequential Pd(0)-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions between a terpyridine subunit grafted with the necessary diethynyl/phenyl or ethynylphenyl/bromide appendage. For ditopic ligands displaying an even number of phenyl/ethynylene modules, the final step involves a single cross-coupling reaction between 4'-ethynylene-2,2':6',6' '-terpyridine and the appropriate bromo derivative. In the case of the ligands having an odd number of phenylene/ethynylene fragments, a double cross-coupling reaction between an extended dibromopolyphenylene intermediate and 4'-ethynylene-2,2':6',6' '-terpyridine or 1-(4'-ethynylene-2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine)-4-ethynylene-2,5-didodecyloxy-benzene is required. For ligands I-V, optimal preparative conditions were found with [Pd(0)(PPh(3))(4)] (6 mol %) in n-propylamine at 70 degrees C. Oxidative dimerization of the 1-(4'-ethynylene-2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine)-4-ethynylene-2,5-didodecyloxybenzene derivative in the presence of cupric salts and oxygen gives the corresponding homoditopic ligand II(2)() bearing a central diphenyldiacetylene spacer. Spectroscopic data for the new oligomers are discussed in terms of the extent of pi-electron conjugation. Upon increasing the number of phenylene/ethynylene modules, there is a progressive lowering in energy of absorption and fluorescence transitions.  相似文献

The synthesis and electronic properties of dinuclear ([(bipy)2Ru(I)M(terpy)][PF6]4(bipy = 2,2'-bipyridine, terpy = 2,2':6',2'-terpyridine; M = Ru, Os)) and trinuclear ([[(bipy)2Ru(I)]2M][PF6]6 M = Ru, Os, Fe, Co) complexes bridged by 4'-(2,2'-bipyridin-4-yl)-2,2':6',2'-terpyridine (I) have been investigated and are compared with those of mononuclear model complexes. The electrochemical analysis using cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry reveals that there are no interactions in the ground state between adjacent metal centres. However, there is strong electronic communication between the 2,2'-bipyridine and 2,2':6',2'-terpyridine components of the bridging ligand. This conclusion is supported by a step-by-step reduction of the dinuclear and trinuclear complexes and the assignment of each electrochemical process to localised ligand sites within the didentate and terdentate domains. The investigation of the electronic absorption and emission spectra reveals an energy transfer in the excited state from the terminating bipy-bound metal centres to the central terpy-bound metal centre. This indicates that the bridge is able to facilitate energy transfer in the excited state between the metal centres despite the lack of interactions in the ground state.  相似文献

A wide range of ester-substituted oligopyridines, based on pyridine, 1,8-naphthyridine, 1,10-phenanthroline, 2,2'-bipyridine, and 2,2':6', 6' '-terpyridine units, has been synthesized and fully characterized. The principal reaction involves the palladium(0)-catalyzed carboalkoxylation of the bromo-, chloro- or triflate-substituted pyridine unit with carbon monoxide in the presence of a primary alcohol as nucleophile and a tertiary amine as base. Monofunctionalization of disubstituted compounds is realized by reaction in ethanol under mild conditions (70 degrees C, 1 atm CO). Stepwise reduction of selected esters with sodium borohydride, followed by Swern oxidation, affords the corresponding carbaldehydes in good yield. Several products are reported for the first time. The synthetic methods reported herein represent a valuable approach to the large-scale preparation of ester-functionalized oligopyridines that can be subsequently transformed to the corresponding alcohols or acids. These procedures also provide a practical methodology to the rational design of ligands bearing different kinds of functionalities.  相似文献

The syntheses and electrooptic properties of a new family of nonlinear optical chromophores are reported. These species feature an ethyne-elaborated, highly polarizable porphyrinic component and metal polypyridyl complexes that serve as integral donor and acceptor elements. The frequency dependence of the dynamic hyperpolarizability of these compounds was determined from hyperRayleigh light scattering (HRS) measurements carried out at fundamental incident irradiation wavelengths (lambda(inc)) of 800, 1064, and 1300 nm. These data show that (i) coupled oscillator photophysics and metal-mediated cross-coupling can be exploited to elaborate high beta(0) supermolecules that exhibit significant excited-state electronic communication between their respective pigment building blocks; (ii) high-stability metal polypyridyl compounds constitute an attractive alternative to electron releasing dialkyl- and diarylamino groups, the most commonly used donor moieties in a wide range of established nonlinear optical dyes; (iii) this design strategy enables ready elaboration of chromophores having extraordinarily large dynamic hyperpolarizabilities (beta(lambda) values) at telecommunication relevant wavelengths; and (iv) porphyrin B- and Q-state-derived static hyperpolarizabilities (beta(0) values) can be designed to have the same or opposite sign in these species, thus providing a new means to regulate the magnitude of lambda(inc)-specific dynamic hyperpolarizabilities.  相似文献

Mononuclear ruthenium complexes and dinuclear Ru...Pd complexes having a series of 2,2'-bipyrimidine ligands, [(bpy)2Ru(Ln)]2+ [Ln = 2,2'-bipyrimidine (L1), 5,5'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyrimidine (L2), 5,5'-dibromo-2,2'-bipyrimidine (L3), 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyrimidine (L4), and 4,4',6,6'-tetramethyl- 2,2'-bipyrimidine (L5)] and [(bpy)2Ru(Ln)PdL]m+ [Ln = L1-L3; PdL = PdMeCl (m = 2) and PdMe(solvent) (m = 3)], are prepared, and the obtained complexes are characterized by means of spectroscopic and crystallographic methods. Introduction of the substituents on the bipyrimidine ligands led to the substantial differences in their electrochemical and photophysical properties. Density functional theory calculations have been performed to understand the substituent effect on the ground-state molecular orbital energy level. Reactivity studies on the catalytic dimerization of alpha-methylstyrene revealed that the Pd complex having a Br-substituted bipyrimidine ligand were much more active than those of the corresponding Pd complexes having methyl-substituted or nonsubstituted bipyrimidine ligands.  相似文献

These complexes, with weak Pd(II)...Pd(II) or Pt(II)...Pt(II) interactions, have been characterized by elemental analysis, 1H and 13C NMR, cold-spray ionization or electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, UV-visible spectroscopy, and luminescence spectroscopy. The formation of Ag(I) complexes with 2,2'-bipyridine (bipy), 2,2'6',2' '-terpyridine (terpy), 2-(aminomethyl)pyridine (amp), and bis((2-pyridyl)methyl)amine (dpa) is studied in dimethyl sulfoxide (dmso) by means of potentiometric and calorimetric measurements. Enthalpy-stabilized mononuclear MLj complexes are formed, whereas entropy changes counteract complex formation. Additionally, a comparison with analog Ag-polyamine species is made to evidence the significant different coordination behavior of these classes of ligands. The results are discussed in terms of different basicity and steric requirements of the ligands and solvation effects. The dpa ligand, with an unprecedented coordination pattern, forms also a bimetallic complex [Ag2(dpa)2]2+ that has been structurally characterized in the solid state by X-ray diffraction. The influence of solvent, water and dmso, on the binding energy of the monodentate pyridine to Ag(I) has also been assessed by means of density functional theory (DFT) calculations. This study has been extended also in vacuum to the reaction of Ag(I) with the simple monoamine methylamine (mea). These results are correlated with the experimental evidence and used to interpret the different affinities of pyridine for the Ag(I) ion in the two media.  相似文献

Platinum(II) bi- and terpyridyl chloro complexes, Pt(dcbpy)Cl2 and [Pt(ttpy)Cl]+, where dcbpy = 4,4'-dicarboxyl-2,2'-bipyridine and ttpy = 4-tolyl-2,2':6',2'-terpyridine, are used to investigate the nature of the active catalyst for the photocatalytic production of hydrogen from water. In a Pt(II) chloro system that contains a sacrificial electron donor, either MeOH or triethanolamine (TEOA), and titanium dioxide (TiO2) as an electron relay, sizable amounts of H2 can be observed upon UV bandgap irradiation. The quantity of H2 can be significantly reduced in the presence of mercury under the same conditions. Using a known sensitizer, [Pt(ttpy)(phenylacetylide)]+ (1), combined with a Pt(II) chloro complex in a similar system, there is a substantial induction period until the evolution of H2, under visible light (lambda > 410 nm) irradiation. It is suggested that the Pt(II) chloro complexes are simply acting as precursors to Pt colloids that function as the H2 generating catalyst  相似文献

Several N-alkyl and N-phenyl derivatives of 6-amino- () and 6,6'-diamino-2,2':6',2'-terpyridine () were synthesized, and their fluorescence properties were studied. A successive red-shift was observed as the number of the N-substituted groups increased. It was also shown that the susceptivity of the fluorophores to a solvent varied considerably according to the mode of the N-substitution. While the monoamino-tpys (tpy: 2,2':6',2'-terpyridine) suffered almost complete quenching of their fluorescence in ethanol, the fully N-alkylated diamino-tpys and retained their fluorescence. The results show that N-substitution is a useful way to tune both the radiation energy and solvent susceptivity of the fluorescence of the amino-tpys.  相似文献
