We have measured the asymmetric emission of protons from the nonmesonic decay of polarized (5)(Lambda)He produced by the (pi(+), K+) reaction. (5)(Lambda)He is an s-shell hypernucleus and its polarization is due to the Lambda. One expects to obtain direct information on the elementary weak Lambda-->p-->np process. The asymmetry parameter has been determined to be 0.24+/-0.22. The implication of the result is discussed.  相似文献

We have measured the transverse asymmetry A(T') in 3He(e,e(')) quasielastic scattering in Hall A at Jefferson Laboratory with high precision for Q2 values from 0.1 to 0.6 (GeV/c)(2). The neutron magnetic form factor G(n)(M) was extracted based on Faddeev calculations for Q2 = 0.1 and 0.2 (GeV/c)(2) with an experimental uncertainty of less than 2%.  相似文献

The hypernuclei (4)(Lambda)He and (4)(Lambda)H provide important information on the hyperon-nucleon interaction. We present accurate Faddeev-Yakubovsky calculations for the Lambda separation energies of the 0(+) ground and the 1(+) excited states based on the Nijmegen SC YN interactions. We explicitly take the Sigma admixture into account. Mass differences of the baryons and the charge dependence of the interaction are considered. The results show that the Nijmegen models cannot predict all separation energies simultaneously hinting to failures of the current interaction models. It is pointed out that the differences of the Lambda separation energies of (4)(Lambda)He and (4)(Lambda)H are interesting observables to probe the YN interaction models.  相似文献

We measured with unprecedented precision the induced polarization P(y) in (4)He(e,e'p)(3)H at Q(2)=0.8 and 1.3 (GeV/c)(2). The induced polarization is indicative of reaction-mechanism effects beyond the impulse approximation. Our results are in agreement with a relativistic distorted-wave impulse approximation calculation but are overestimated by a calculation with strong charge-exchange effects. Our data are used to constrain the strength of the spin-independent charge-exchange term in the latter calculation.  相似文献

The 2H(e,e(')p)n cross section was measured in Hall A of the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility near the top of the quasielastic peak (x(Bj)=0.964) at a four-momentum transfer squared, Q(2)=0.665 (GeV/c) (2) (omega=0.368 GeV, W=2.057 GeV), and for recoil momenta up to 550 MeV/c. The measured cross section deviates by 1-2sigma from a state-of-the-art calculation at low recoil momenta. At high recoil momenta the cross section is well described by the same calculation; however, in this region, final-state interactions and interaction currents are predicted to be large, and alternative choices of nucleon-nucleon potential and nucleon current operator may result in significant spread in the calculations.  相似文献

We report a measurement of the exclusive e+ e- -->Lambda+_(c)Lambda-_(c) cross section as a function of center-of-mass energy near the Lambda+_(c)Lambda-_(c) threshold. A clear peak with a significance of 8.2sigma is observed in the Lambda+_(c)Lambda-_(c) invariant mass distribution just above threshold. With an assumption of a resonance origin for the observed peak, a mass and width of M=[4634 (+8)_(-7)(stat)(+5)_(-8)(syst)] MeV/c(2) and Gamma_(tot)=[92 (+40)_(-24)(stat)(+10)_(-21)(syst)] MeV are determined. The analysis is based on a study of events with initial-state-radiation photons in a data sample collected with the Belle detector at the Upsilon(4S) resonance and nearby continuum with an integrated luminosity of 695 fb(-1) at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider.  相似文献

We show that it is possible to extract the weak mixing angle alpha via a measurement of the rate for B+/--->pi(+/-)e(+)e(-). The sensitivity to cosalpha results from the interference between the long and short distance contributions. The short distance contribution is given in terms of semileptonic form factors. The long distance contribution can be calculated using Ward identities and a short distance operator product expansion if the invariant mass of the lepton pair, q(2), is larger than Lambda(2)(QCD). For q(2)>/=2 GeV2 the branching fraction is approximately 1x10(-8)|V(td)/0.008|(2). The shape of dgamma/dq(2) is very sensitive to the value of cosalpha at small values of q(2) and varies by 50% when -1相似文献

We have searched for a deeply bound kaonic state by using the FINUDA spectrometer installed at the e(+)e(-) collider DAPhiNE. Almost monochromatic K(-)'s produced through the decay of phi(1020) mesons are used to observe K(-) absorption reactions stopped on very thin nuclear targets. Taking this unique advantage, we have succeeded to detect a kaon-bound state K(-)pp through its two-body decay into a Lambda hyperon and a proton. The binding energy and the decay width are determined from the invariant-mass distribution as 115(+6)(-5)(stat)(+3)(-4)(syst) MeV and 67(+14)(-11)(stat)(+2)(-3)(syst) MeV, respectively.  相似文献

An experiment demonstrating the production of double-Lambda hypernuclei in (K(-),K(+)) reactions on (9)Be was carried out at the D6 line in the BNL alternating-gradient synchrotron. The technique was the observation of pions produced in sequential mesonic weak decay, each pion associated with one unit of strangeness change. The results indicate the production of a significant number of the double hypernucleus (4)(double Lambda)H and the twin hypernuclei (4)(Lambda)H and (3)(Lambda)H. The relevant decay chains are discussed and a simple model of the production mechanism is presented. An implication of this experiment is that the existence of an S = -2 dibaryon more than a few MeV below the double Lambda mass is unlikely.  相似文献

We report STAR results on the azimuthal anisotropy parameter v(2) for strange particles K(0)(S), Lambda, and Lambda at midrapidity in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s(NN)]=130 GeV at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. The value of v(2) as a function of transverse momentum, p(t), of the produced particle and collision centrality is presented for both particles up to p(t) approximately 3.0 GeV/c. A strong p(t) dependence in v(2) is observed up to 2.0 GeV/c. The v(2) measurement is compared with hydrodynamic model calculations. The physics implications of the p(t) integrated v(2) magnitude as a function of particle mass are also discussed.  相似文献

Evidence for particle stability of ( 4 )( LambdaLambda)H has been suggested by the BNL-AGS E906 experiment. We report on Faddeev-Yakubovsky calculations for the four-body LambdaLambdapn system using LambdaN interactions which reproduce the observed binding energy of (3)(Lambda)H(1 / 2(+)) within a Faddeev calculation for the Lambdapn subsystem. No ( 4 )( LambdaLambda)H bound state is found over a wide range of LambdaLambda interaction strengths, although the Faddeev equations for a three-body LambdaLambdad model of ( 4 )( LambdaLambda)H admit a 1(+) bound state for as weak a LambdaLambda interaction strength as required to reproduce B(LambdaLambda)(( 6 )( LambdaLambda)He).

We report on the first measurement of a hypernuclear gamma-transition probability. gamma rays emitted in the E2(5/2(+)-->1/2(+)) transition of (7)(Lambda)Li were detected by a large-acceptance germanium detector array (Hyperball), and the lifetime of the parent state ( 5/2(+)) was determined by the Doppler shift attenuation method. The obtained result, 5.8(+0.9)(-0.7)+/-0.7 ps, was then converted into the reduced transition probability [ B(E2)] to be B(E2;5/2(+)-->1/2(+)) = 3.6+/-0.5(+0.5)(-0.4) e(2) fm(4). Compared with the B(E2) of the corresponding E2(3(+)-->1(+)) transition in the 6Li nucleus, our result gives evidence that the size of the 6Li core in (7)(Lambda)Li is smaller than the 6Li nucleus in the free space.  相似文献

We report the first experimental results showing transition-specific anisotropy of molecular frame (e, 2e) cross sections. Vector correlations between the two outgoing electrons and the fragment ion have been measured for specific ionization-excitation processes of H2. The results enable us to obtain molecular frame (e, 2e) cross sections for transitions to the 2ssigma(g) and 2psigma(u) excited states of H(2)(+), thereby making stereodynamics of the electron-molecule collisions directly visible.  相似文献

Coincidence cross sections for the reactions 6Li(e, e′p) and 6Li(e, e′d) have been measured in the region of quasi-elastic scattering. Using incident electrons of 2.5 and 2.7 GeV, the four-momentum transfers to the proton were 6.6 fm?2, 10.0 fm?2 and 11.6 fm?2. The proton coincidence data agree with shell-model distributions assuming a Woods-Saxon potential and including short-range nucleon-nucleon correlations. The best fit to the deuteron coincidence data is obtained with a cluster wave function for the p-nucleons and a harmonic oscillator wave function for the s-nucleons taking into account the deuteron yield from the s-shell. The ratio of the deuteron cross section from 6Li divided by the elastic e-d scattering cross section depends only slightly on the four-momentum transfer and has a value of ≈ 2.  相似文献

In order to produce a neutron-rich Lambda hypernucleus for the first time, we carried out an experiment by utilizing the (pi-,K+) double charge-exchange reaction on a 10B target. We observed the production of a 10LambdaLi hypernucleus. The cross section for the Lambda bound region was found to be 11.3+/-1.9 nb/sr with the 1.2 GeV/c incident momentum, which is compared with the 10LambdaB hypernucleus production cross section, 7.8+/-0.3 microb/sr, in the (pi+,K+) reaction with a 1.05 GeV/c incident momentum beam.  相似文献

We have measured the proton recoil polarization in the 4He(e-->,e(')p-->)4H reaction at Q(2)=0.5, 1.0, 1.6, and 2.6 (GeV/c)(2). The measured ratio of polarization transfer coefficients differs from a fully relativistic calculation, favoring the inclusion of a medium modification of the proton form factors predicted by a quark-meson coupling model. In addition, the measured induced polarizations agree reasonably well with the fully relativistic calculation indicating that the treatment of final-state interactions is under control.  相似文献

We present STAR measurements of the azimuthal anisotropy parameter v(2) and the binary-collision scaled centrality ratio R(CP) for kaons and lambdas (Lambda+Lambda) at midrapidity in Au+Au collisions at square root of s(NN)=200 GeV. In combination, the v(2) and R(CP) particle-type dependencies contradict expectations from partonic energy loss followed by standard fragmentation in vacuum. We establish p(T) approximately 5 GeV/c as the value where the centrality dependent baryon enhancement ends. The K(0)(S) and Lambda+Lambda v(2) values are consistent with expectations of constituent-quark-number scaling from models of hadron formation by parton coalescence or recombination.  相似文献

The decays of J/psi --> etaphif(0)(980)[eta --> gammagamma, phi --> K(+) K(-), f(0)(980) --> pi(+)pi(-)] are analyzed using a sample of 5.8 x 10(7) J/psi events collected with the BESII detector at the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider. A structure at around 2.18 GeV/c(2) with about 5 sigma significance is observed in the phif(0)(980) invariant mass spectrum. A fit with a Breit-Wigner function gives the peak mass and width of m = 2.186+/-0.010(stat)+/-0.006(syst) GeV/c(2) and Gamma = 0.065+/-0.023(stat)+/-0.017(syst) GeV/c(2), respectively, which are consistent with those of Y(2175), observed by the BABAR Collaboration in the initial-state radiation process e(+)e(-) --> gamma(ISR) phif(0)(980). The production branching ratio is determined to be Br(J/psi --> etaY(2175))Br(Y(2175)- -> phif(0)(980))Br(f(0)(980) --> pi(+)pi(-)) = [3.23+/-0.75(stat)+/-0.73(syst)] x 10(-4), assuming that the Y(2175) is a 1(--) state.  相似文献

It is found that the suppression due to two-body LambdaN-SigmaN coupling solves the overbinding problem in (5)(Lambda)He but it, in turn, causes a severe underbinding in the four-body systems. The shortage of this binding is overcome by introducing explicitly the Lambda-Sigma coupling which is equivalent to the LambdaNN three-body force. This three-body force becomes strong in the 0(+) states of (4)(Lambda)H and (4)(Lambda)He according to the coherently added enhancement. The 0(+)-1(+) splitting in (4)(Lambda)H and (4)(Lambda)He is found partly due to the LambdaN spin-spin interaction and partly due to the Lambda-Sigma coupling in the recent Nijmegen soft-core potential.  相似文献
