In this note, we provide several characterizations of regular local rings in positive characteristics, in terms of the Hilbert-Kunz multiplicity and its higher counterparts . We also apply the characterizations to improve a recent result by Bridgeland and Iyengar in the characteristic case. Our proof avoids using the existence of big Cohen-Macaulay modules, which is the major tool in the proof of Bridgeland and Iyengar.

Serre's nonnegativity conjecture for intersection multiplicities has recently been proven by O. Gabber. In this paper we investigate Serre's positivity conjecture using the methods which he developed. We show in particular that the positivity conjecture has implications for properties of symbolic powers of prime ideals in regular local rings. 相似文献

Let (R,m) be a Cohen-Macaulay local ring of dimension d with infinite residue field, I an m-primary ideal and K an ideal containing I. Let J be a minimal reduction of I such that, for some positive integer k, KIn ∩ J = JKIn-1 for n ≤ k ? 1 and λ( JKKIIkk-1 ) = 1. We show that if depth G(I) ≥ d-2, then such fiber cones have almost maximal depth. We also compute, in this case, the Hilbert series of FK(I) assuming that depth G(I) ≥ d - 1. 相似文献

As in [2, 3], we examine the leading form ideal I* of I in the associated graded ring G: = gr𝔫(S). Let μ G (I*) = n ≥ 3, and let {ξ1, ξ2,…, ξ n } be a minimal homogeneous system of generators of I* such that ξ1 = f* and ξ2 = g*, and c i : = deg ξ i ≤ deg ξ i+1: = c i+1 for each i ≤ n ? 1. For m ≤ n, we say that K m : = (ξ1,…, ξ m )G is an ideal generated by part of a minimal homogeneous generating set of I*. Let D i : = GCD(ξ1,…, ξ i ) and d i = deg D i for i with 1 ≤ i ≤ m. Let K m be perfect with ht G K m = 2. We prove that the following are equivalent: 1. deg ξ i+1 = deg ξ i + (d i?1 ? d i ) +1, for all i with 3 ≤ i ≤ m ? 1; 2. deg ξ i+1 ≤ deg ξ i + (d i?1 ? d i ) +1, for all i with 3 ≤ i ≤ m ? 1. To the complete intersection ideal I = (f, g)S we associate a positive integer n with 2 ≤ n ≤ c 1 + 1, an ascending sequence of positive integers (c 1, c 2,…, c n ), and a descending sequence of integers (d 1 = c 1, d 2,…, d n = 0) such that c i+1 ? c i > d i?1 ? d i > 0 for each i with 2 ≤ i ≤ n ? 1. We establish here that this necessary condition is also sufficient for there to exist a complete intersection ideal I = (f, g) whose leading ideal has these invariants. Abstract Let A be a commutative ring with identity, let X, Y be indeterminates and let F(X,Y), G(X, Y) ∈ A[X, Y] be homogeneous. Then the pair F(X, Y), G(X, Y) is said to be radical preserving with respect to A if Rad((F(x, y), G(x, y))R) = Rad((x,y)R) for each A-algebra R and each pair of elements x, y in R. It is shown that infinite sequences of pairwise radical preserving polynomials can be obtained by homogenizing cyclotomic polynomials, and that under suitable conditions on a ?-graded ring A these can be used to produce an infinite set of homogeneous prime ideals between two given homogeneous prime ideals P ? The paper characterizes the length of maximal sequences satisfying conditions (i) and (ii) of (FC)-sequences, and proves some properties of (FC)-sequences, such as a bound on their lengths. Many results on going-down domains and divided domains are generalized to the context of rings with von Neumann regular total quotient rings. A (commutative unital) ring R is called regular divided if each P ∈ Spec(R)?(Max(R) ∩ Min(R)) is comparable with each principal regular ideal of R. Among rings having von Neumann regular total quotient rings, the regular divided rings are the pullbacks K× K/P D where K is von Neumann regular, P ∈ Spec(K) and D is a divided domain. Any regular divided ring (for instance, regular comparable ring) with a von Neumann regular total quotient ring is a weak Baer going-down ring. If R is a weak Baer going-down ring and T is an extension ring with a von Neumann regular total quotient ring such that no regular element of R becomes a zero-divisor in T, then R ? T satisfies going-down. If R is a weak Baer ring and P ∈ Spec(R), then R + PR (P) is a going-down ring if and only if R/P and R P are going-down rings. Abstract For a (left and right) noetherian semilocal ring R we analyse a regularity concept (called weak regularity) based on the equation gld R = dim R. Examples are regular Cohen-Macaulay orders over a regular local ring, localized enveloping algebras of finite dimensional Lie algebras, and the regular rings classified in Rump (2001b). 自李洪兴1991年提出了HX环以来,人们一直有这么一个问题没解决,就是是否存在非平凡的HX环的例子?但至今既没找到非平凡的HX环,也没有证明任一环R仅存在平凡的HX环。针对这个问题,本文提出并证明了一类环仅有平凡HX环,还给出了一系列的结构定理。这样,既为证明任一环R仅有平凡的HX环的猜想有新的启示,也为人们指明无须在这一类环上寻找非平凡HX环。 相似文献
