In workplaces, wall facings are often based on periodic or aperiodic sound scattering surfaces. It is necessary to develop acoustic characterization methods for these kinds of walls to predict the acoustic pressure cartography in the room in order to improve the acoustical treatment. However, this characterization is quite difficult because of the partially reverberant conditions. We developed a measurement system which determines in situ the sound scattering coefficients of relief surfaces. The measurement method, originally operating in free-field conditions, was adapted for indoor use. To overcome problems of parasite echoes coming from reverberation and from noisy sources present on the site, we developed a dedicated emission/reception system. An acoustic antenna with constant directivity over the full frequency range allows spatial filtering of the parasite echoes and an impulsive sound source enables the use of a broad temporal window, resulting in adequate time separation of the different signals received by the antenna. Measurements of the sound scattering coefficient of a corrugated panel were carried out for several incidence angles in free-field and in a noisy workshop and allowed the in situ validation of this system.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to investigate an inverse method used to evaluate the unsteady rotating forces acting on the fluid by the fan’s blade. A simple model based on the tonal noise produced by an axial fan and validated with a directivity experience is used to derive a discretized form of the direct problem and to simulate acoustic pressures at known spatial positions in the radiated field. The inversion of this direct problem is ill-conditioned and requires a regularization technique to stabilize the solution for small perturbations in the measured acoustic pressures. The reconstruction reveals that the conditioning of the inverse problem depends on the aeroacoustic source and the far-field microphones number as well as on the studied frequency. Tikhonov regularization can provide an appropriate regularization parameter leading to an accurate reconstruction of imposed unsteady rotating forces even with the presence of measurement noise.  相似文献

A ‘resolution’ of the interior singularity of the spherically symmetric Schwarzschild solution of the Einstein equations for the gravitational field of a point-particle is carried out entirely and solely by finitistic and algebraic means. To this end, the background differential spacetime manifold and, in extenso, Differential Calculus-free purely algebraic (:sheaf-theoretic) conceptual and technical machinery of Abstract Differential Geometry (ADG) is employed. International Journal of Theoretical Physics 42, 1479 [gr-qc/0209048]], which this paper continues, the starting point for the present application of ADG is Sorkin's finitary (:locally finite) poset (:partially ordered set) substitutes of continuous manifolds in their Gel'fand-dual picture in terms of discrete differential incidence algebras and the finitary spacetime sheaves thereof. It is shown that the Einstein equations hold not only at the finitary poset level of ‘discrete events,’ but also at a suitable ‘classical spacetime continuum limit’ of the said finitary sheaves and the associated differential triads that they define ADG-theoretically. The upshot of this is two-fold: On the one hand, the field equations are seen to hold when only finitely many events or ‘degrees of freedom’ of the gravitational field are involved, so that no infinity or uncontrollable divergence of the latter arises at all in our inherently finitistic-algebraic scenario. On the other hand, the law of gravity—still modelled in ADG by a differential equation proper—does not break down in any (differential geometric) sense in the vicinity of the locus of the point-mass as it is traditionally maintained in the usual manifold-based analysis of spacetime singularities in General Relativity (GR). At the end, some brief remarks are made on the potential import of ADG-theoretic ideas in developing a genuinely background-independent Quantum Gravity (QG). A brief comparison between the ‘resolution’ proposed here and a recent resolution of the inner Schwarzschild singularity by Loop QG means concludes the paper. The schlieren method is applied to visualizing the sound scattering ofa cylinder immersed in the liquids.Images of the echoes,caused by normal andoblique incidence from a cylinder,are obtained for two kinds of liquids:(1)theliquid is composed of a transparent liquid;and(2)the liquid is composed of twonon-mixable transparent liquids.It is found experimentally that the echo canbe caused by the discontinaites in the shadow zone.This fact is utilized to dem-onstrate the locus of the helical surface wave creeping along the surface of thecylinder.For such cases the three-dimensional image can be described by thismethod and has not to use the system with special appliances and complexalgorithm.  相似文献

The error in determining the position of the spectral maximum of a signal against Gaussian white noise is considered. The sensitivity of the monitoring method based on measuring the frequency shifts of the field maximum is estimated. For a specific case of a Gaussian signal’s spectrum and the medium perturbed by background internal waves, results of calculations are presented.  相似文献

The level structures of N ~ 19 nuclei such as 32,34P have been investigated using the 18O(18O,xnyp) and 18O(16O,xnyp) reactions at an incident beam energy of about 34 MeV. The de-exciting γ-transitions were recorded using an array of clover detectors. These detectors have the dual advantage of higher efficiency at E γ ≥ 2 MeV, and are capable of providing information on the linear polarization of the observed γ-transitions. These polarization measurements when coupled with the angular correlations help us to assign uniquely the spin parity for the observed levels. The experimental results have been compared with the predictions of the spherical shell model. The shell-model calculations are able to reproduce the observed energy levels to a reasonable degree. However, the observed transition probabilities are not reproduced by the calculations. Hence there is a need to re-visit these calculations using more detailed and microscopic effective interactions.  相似文献

By using the theory of vertex operator algebras, we gave a new proof of the famous Ramanujans modulus 5 modular equation from his Lost Notebook (p. 139 in [R]). Furthermore, we obtained an infinite list of q-identities for all odd moduli; thus, we generalized the result of Ramanujan.Acknowledgements It was indeed hard to trace all the known proofs of (1.1), (1.2) and (1.3). We apologize if some important references are omitted. We would like to thank Jim Lepowsky for conversations on many related subjects. We studied the behaviour under decoherence of four different measures of the distance between quantum states and classical states for the harmonic oscillator coupled to a linear Markovian bath. Three of these are relative measures, using different definitions of the distance between the given quantum states and the set of all classical states. The fourth measure is an absolute one, the negative volume of the Wigner function of the state. All four measures are found to agree, in general, with each other. When applied to the eigenstates |n〉, all four measures behave non-trivially as a function of time during dynamical decoherence. First, we find that the first set of classical states to which the set of eigenstate evolves is (by all measures used) closest to the initial set. That is, all the states decohere to classicality along the ‘shortest path’. Finding this closest classical set of states helps improve the behaviour of all the relative distance measures. Second, at each point in time before becoming classical, all measures have a state n? with maximal quantum-classical distance; the value n? decreases as a function of time. Finally, we explore the dynamics of these non-classicality measures for more general states.  相似文献

We discuss here the prediction, based on a formalism by the author, on the observable effects of a curl-free magnetic vector potential on the macroscale as against the microscale of the Aharonov-Bohm effect. A new quantum concept — the ‘transition amplitude wave’ — postulated in the formalism has already been shown to exhibit matter wave manifestations in the form of one-dimensional interference effects on the macroscale. It was predicted by the formalism that the same entity would lead to the detection of a curl-free magnetic vector potential on the macroscale. We describe here the manner of generation of this quantum entity in an inelastic scattering episode and work out an algorithm to observe this radically new phenomenon, the detection of a curl-free magnetic vector potential on the macroscale. We determine the various characteristic features of such an observation which can then be looked for experimentally so as to verify the predicted effect, establishing thereby the physical reality of the new quantum entity, and to fully validate the formalism predicting it. It is also shown that this ‘transition amplitude wave’ can be regarded as a novel kind of ‘quasiparticle’ excited in the charged particle trajectory as a consequence of the scattering episode.  相似文献

‘Planetodiversity’ is a composite word from planetary diversity. This denomination wants to parallel the common use of the term biodiversity employed in biology but translated here to the context of planetary sciences due to the proliferating variety of planets discovered outside the Solar System and theoretically proposed to exist. There are two properties that allow us a classification of a body as a planet or more generally as a ‘planetary mass object’: the orbital configuration and the physical structure (mass, energy and chemical composition). This leads respectively to the concepts that we term the ‘orbital planetodiversity’ and the ‘physical planetodiversity’. We present in a comparative way the basic planetary types observed or expected to exist within the framework of these two concepts.  相似文献

Under the actions of different Hamiltonians on the different two-qubit input states by using the quantum Yang-Baxterization approach, we investigate the behaviors of the fidelity and the trace distance as measures of ‘closeness’ and distinguishability of two quantum states. The results show that the fidelity that is the main figure of merit for any communication and computing process can be kept to high values depending on the choice of the initial states and the Hamiltonians constructed by the Yang-Baxter equation. On the other hand, by choosing the initial states and Yang-Baxter systems which are the various extensions of the Yang-Baxter equations for several matrices, these quantifiers can be adjusted as desired to achieve many quantum computing and computational tasks. Furthermore, to quantify the performance of quantum teleportation we examine the teleportation fidelity for the outputs that correspond to the different two-qubit X-type states under the actions of the different Hamiltonians. It is possible to obtain high fidelity to use the quantum teleportation process.

We study the anisotropic electrostatic interaction with high rank multipoles (? = 5) for a set of 10 van der Waals complexes and 27 DNA base pairs. Multipoles are generated by the distributed multipole analysis (DMA) and by the topological quantum theory of ‘atoms in molecules’ (AIM). The convergence of the multipolar expansion of the interaction between topological atoms is improved by distributing the moments over extra off-nuclear sites via a shifting procedure. A clear theoretical distinction is made between partitioning and distributing. A substantial improvement in the convergence of the AIM multipole expansion is observed for the smaller van der Waals molecules. An AIM representation with extra sites on the bond midpoints performs as well as DMA with just nuclear sites. However, for the larger DNA base pairs no improvement follows from the introduction of extra sites with AIM. For these larger systems AIM and DMA expansions perform equivalently, provided that now DMA allows for extra sites. This work further encourages the development of a topological intermolecular force field.  相似文献
