The structural, spectroscopic, and electrochemical properties of [Co{(naph)2dien}(N3)] and [Co{(naph)2dpt}(N3)], where (naph)2dien?=?bis-(2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldimine)-N-diethylenetriaminedianion and (naph)2dpt?=?bis-(2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldimine)-N-dipropylenetriaminedianion have been investigated. These complexes are characterized by elemental analyses, IR, and UV–Vis spectroscopy. The crystal structures of these complexes have been determined by X-ray diffraction. The geometry around cobalt is distorted octahedral. The electrochemical behavior of these complexes in acetonitrile solution was also investigated. Both complexes show an irreversible CoIII–CoII reduction at ca. ?0.8?V, accompanied by dissociation of the axial CoII–N3 bond. The in vitro antibacterial activities of these complexes were tested against Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus licheniformis.  相似文献

The structure, spectroscopic, and electrochemical properties of [Co{(BA)2pn}(L)2]ClO4 complexes, where (BA)2pn = N,N′-bis(benzoylacetone)-1,3-propylenediimine dianion and the two ancillary ligands (L) are pyridine, py (1), and 4-methylpyridine, 4-Mepy (2), have been investigated. These complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, IR, UV–Vis and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. The crystal structure of [Co{(BA)2pn}(py)2]ClO4 (1) has been determined by X-ray diffraction. The coordination geometry around cobalt(III) is best described as a distorted octahedron. The electrochemical reduction of these complexes at a glassy carbon electrode in acetonitrile solution indicates that the first reduction process corresponding to CoIII–CoII is electrochemically irreversible, which is accompanied by the dissociation of the axial N(py)–cobalt bonds. This process becomes quasi-reversible upon the addition of excess py ligands. The second reduction step of CoII/I shows reversible behavior and is not influenced by the nature of the axial ligands. The electrochemical reduction of CO2 presents a promising strategy to mitigate the greenhouse effect and reduce excess carbon dioxide emission to realize a carbon-neutral energy cycle, but it suffers from the lack of high-performance electrocatalysts. In this work, catalytic active cobalt porphyrin [TCPP(Co)=(5,10,15,20)-tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl)porphyrin-CoII] was precisely anchored onto water-stable 2D metal–organic framework (MOF) nanosheets (Zr-BTB) to obtain ultrathin 2D MOF nanosheets [TCPP(Co)/Zr-BTB] with accessible catalytic sites for the CO2 reduction reaction. Compared with molecular cobalt porphyrin, the TCPP(Co)/Zr-BTB exhibits an ultrahigh turnover frequency (TOF=4768 h−1 at −0.919 V vs. reversible hydrogen electrode, RHE) owing to high active-site utilization. In addition, three post-modified 2D MOF nanosheets [TCPP(Co)/Zr-BTB-PABA, TCPP(Co)/Zr-BTB-PSBA, TCPP(Co)/Zr-BTB-PSABA] were obtained, with the modifiers of p-(aminomethyl)benzoic acid (PABA), p-sulfobenzoic acid potassium (PSBA), and p-sulfamidobenzoic acid (PSABA), to change the micro-environments around TCPP(Co) through the tuning of steric effects. Among them, the TCPP(Co)/Zr-BTB-PSABA exhibited the best performance with a faradaic efficiency (FECO) of 85.1 %, TOF of 5315 h−1, and jtotal of 6 mA cm−2 at −0.769 V (vs. RHE). In addition, the long-term durability of the electrocatalysts is evaluated and the role of pH buffer is revealed.  相似文献

Effects of concentrations of ammonia (0.3–5.8 M) and supporting electrolytes (NaF, NaClO4; 0.1–0.5 M) on the kinetics of electroreduction of ammonia complexes of cobalt(II) at a dropping mercury electrode are studied. Most experiments are performed with low concentrations of cobalt(II) complexes (1 × 10–5 to 2 × 10–5 M) in the absence of a polarographic maximum. The dependence of the half-wave potential of the reversible cathodic wave pertaining to the reduction of ammonia complexes of cobalt(II) on the concentration of ammonia molecules is obtained. It is found from the dependence that, at ammonia concentrations of 0.5–2.6 M, the slow electrochemical stage involves predominantly complexes Co(NH3)2 2+. At higher ammonia concentrations, the stage involves complexes Co(NH3) k 2+ (k > 2), which form in preceding chemical stages from complexes Co(NH3) i 2+ (i = 3–6) that are predominant in solution. Values of the diffusion coefficients for complexes Co(NH3) i 2+, apparent transfer coefficients, and rate constant of the process of electroreduction of ammonia complexes of cobalt(II) are determined. The reasons for the complicating effect the insoluble products of reduction of cobalt(II) complexes have on the shape of polarographic waves are discussed.  相似文献

Three new vic-dioxime ligands, [N-(ethyl-4-amino-1-piperidine carboxylate)-phenylglyoxime (L1H2), N-(ethyl-4-amino-1-piperidine carboxylate)-glyoxime (L2H2), and N,N′-bis(ethyl-4-amino-1-piperidine carboxylate)-glyoxime (L3H2)], and their Co(II) with Cu(II) metal complexes, were synthesized for the first time. Mononuclear complexes of these ligands with a 1:2 metal-ligand ratio were prepared with Co(II) and Cu(II) salts. The BF2+-capped Co(II) and mononuclear complexes of the vic-dioxime were prepared for [Co(L1·BF2)2] and [Co(L2·BF2)2]. The ligands act in a polydentate fashion bonding through nitrogen atoms in the presence of a base, as do most vic-dioximes. The cobalt(II) and copper(II) complexes are non-electrolytes as shown by their molar conductivities (ΛM) in DMF. The structures of the ligands and complexes were determined by elemental analyses, FT-i.r., u.v.–vis., 1H- and 13C-n.m.r. spectra, magnetic susceptibility measurements, and molar conductivity. The comparative electrochemical studies show that the stabilities of the reduced or oxidized species and the electrode potentials of the complexes are affected by the substituents attached on the oxime moieties of the complexes.  相似文献

The complexes [Co(L)Cl2]Cl · 4H2O (1) and [Co(L)(N3)2]N3 · 2H2O (2) (L = 3,14-dimethyl-2,6,13,17-tetraazatricyclo [14,4,01.18,07.12]docosane) have been synthesized, and structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography, spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. The crystal structure of (1) is centrosymmetric and the cobalt(III) atom has an axially elongated octahedral geometry with four nitrogen atoms of the macrocycle and two chloride ligands. The cobalt(III) ion in (2) is coordinated to four nitrogen atoms from the macrocycle, and two azide ligands in an octahedral environment, which forms the 1D polymer through hydrogen bonding contacts involving the cation, azide anion and solvent water molecules. Electronic spectra of the complexes also exhibit a low-spin octahedral environment. Cyclic voltammetry of the complexes undergoes a one-electron wave corresponding to Co(III)/Co(II) processes. The electronic spectra and electrochemical behaviors of the complexes are significantly affected by the nature of the axial ligands.  相似文献

A new aroyl-hydrazone, 2-pyridine carboxaldehyde-derived hydrazone ligand and its cobalt(II) (1) and vanadium(V) (2) complexes were prepared. The structures of these compounds were investigated using elemental analysis, spectral (IR, UV), and X-ray diffraction measurements. The electrochemical properties of the complexes were studied by cyclic voltammetry. The hydrazone ligand acted as tridentate and coordinated to vanadium and cobalt via N-imine, N-pyridine, and O-benzohydrazide atoms. The Co(II) complex crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P21/c, and has a binuclear structure. Chloride ions behave as the linking bridge and a tridentate hydrazine ligand HL and water as the terminal capping ligands. The central Co(II) ion has distorted octahedral geometry. The vanadium(V) complex crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system, space group P21/n, and can be described as having highly distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination. The geometries and electronic properties of the complexes were also obtained using DFT and TD-DFT calculations.  相似文献

The structure, spectroscopic, and electrochemical properties of [Co{(Me-sal)2dien}(N3)] and [Co{(Me-sal)2dpt}(N3)], where (Me-sal)2dien = 2,2′-[1,1′-(3-azapentane-1,5-diyldinitrilo)diethylidyne] diphenolate and (Me-sal)2dpt = 2,2′-[1,1′-(4-azapentane-1,7-diyldinitrilo)diethylidyne] diphenolate, have been investigated. These complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, IR, UV–Vis, and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. The crystal structures of these complexes have been determined by X-ray diffraction. Complex 1 crystallizes in the triclinic space group P 1, with a = 7.8443(4) Å, b = 11.0660(5) Å, c = 11.6216(6) Å, α = 73.360(1)°, β = 76.965(1)°, γ = 84.436(1)° and Z = 2. Complex 2 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/n, with a = 12.1985(13) Å, b = 10.9332(12) Å, c = 15.2808(16) Å, β = 76.965(1)° and Z = 4. The coordination geometry around cobalt(III) in both complexes is a distorted octahedron. The electrochemical reduction of these complexes at a glassy carbon electrode in acetonitrile indicates that the first reduction corresponding to CoIII–CoII is electrochemically irreversible, accompanied by dissociation of the axial Co–N(N3) bond. The second reduction step of Co(II/I) leads to decomposition of the complex. These observations are rationalized based on the structure-function relations.  相似文献

Multi‐walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) filled with different species of cobalt (metallic cobalt, cobalt oxide) were synthesized by a chemical vapor deposition method through cobaltocene pyrolysis. A systematic study was performed to correlate different experimental conditions with the structure and characteristics of the obtained material. Thin films of Co‐filled CNTs were deposited over conductive substrates through a liquid–liquid interfacial method and were used for cobalt hexacyanoferrate (CoHCFe) electrodeposition by an innovative route in which the Co species encapsulated in the CNTs were employed as reactants. The CNT/CoHCFe films were characterized by different spectroscopic, microscopic, and electrochemical techniques and presented high electrochemical stability in different media. The nanocomposites were applied as both an electrochemical sensor to H2O2 and a cathode for ion batteries and showed limits of detection at approximately 3.7 nmol L ?1 and a capacity of 130 mAh g?1 at a current density of 5 A g?1.  相似文献

Metalation of CH2OH-substituted triazolium salts with CoCl2 under basic conditions affords C,O-bidentate chelating carbene Co(III) complexes ( 3a , 3b ), while analogous phenyl-substituted triazolium salts produce monodentate carbene Co(II) complexes ( 3c , 3d ). The distinct substituent-induced properties of the metal centers were demonstrated by electrochemical measurements and catalytic activities in two specific processes. The complexes showed appreciable activity in the reduction of C=O bonds through hydrosilylation, with methoxybenzene-functionalized triazolylidene Co(III) complex 3a achieving a high selectivity towards aldehydes vs. ketones with turnover frequencies (TOFs) up to 200 h−1. The C,O-chelate systems were also active catalysts in the Biginelli process, a one-step three-component reaction for efficient dihydropyrimidinone synthesis. Optimization of reaction conditions provides high activity with complex 3a , reaching TOFs of 800 h−1, the highest activity known for cobalt NHC complexes to date.  相似文献

The isothiosemicarbazone ligand was characterized by NMR (1H and 13C), IR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. All the complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV–Vis, ESI-MS spectroscopy, molar conductivity, magnetic susceptibility measurements. X-ray diffraction analysis on the monocrystal and powder elucidated the structure of the complexes 1 , 5 , 7 and 8 . The ligand and the complexes were tested for their antioxidant and antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Candida albicans. Also, the antiproliferative properties of these compounds on human leukemia HL-60, human cervical epithelial HeLa, human epithelial pancreatic adenocarcinoma BxPC-3, human muscle rhabdomyosarcoma spindle, large multinucleated RD cells and normal MDCK cells have been investigated. The nickel complex 5 and cobalt complexes 6 , 7 showed promising antiproliferative activity and low toxicity.  相似文献

Two polypyridyl ligands, 5-(4′-ethynylbenzo-15-crown-5)-2,2′-bipyridine (L1) and 3-bromo-8-(4′-ethynylbenzo-15-crown-5)-1,10-phenanthroline (L2), and their Ru(II) complexes [(bpy)2RuL](PF6)2 have been prepared and characterized. Both complexes exhibit metal-to-ligand charge transfer absorption at around 452 nm and emission at around 640 nm in MeCN solution. Electrochemical studies of the complexes reveal a Ru(II)-centered oxidation at around 1.31 V and three ligand-centered reductions. The binding ability of the complexes with Na+ has been investigated by UV/Vis absorption, emission, and electrochemical titrations. Addition of Na+ to MeCN solutions of both complexes results in a progressive enhancement of the emission, a red-shift of the UV/Vis absorption, and a progressive cathodic shift of the Ru(II)-centered E 1/2 couple. The stability constants for the 1:1 stoichiometry adducts of the complexes with Na+ have been obtained from the UV/Vis absorption titrations.  相似文献

New five-coordinate complexes Co(ISQ-Pri)2Cl, Co(ISQ-Me)2Cl, Co(ISQ-Me)2I, Co(ISQ-Me)2(SCN), Mn(ISQ-Pri)2Cl, and Fe(ISQ-Me)2Br (ISQ-Pri and ISQ-Me are the 4,6-di-tert-butyl-N-(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)-and 4,6-di-tert-butyl-N-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)-o-iminobenzosemiquinone radical anions, respectively) were synthesized. The complexes were characterized by UV-Vis and IR spectroscopy and magnetochemistry. The molecular structures of the Fe(ISQ-Me)2Br and Mn(ISQ-Pri)2Cl complexes were established by X-ray diffraction. The singlet ground state (S = 0) of the cobalt complexes is caused by antiferromagnetic coupling between the unpaired electrons of the radical ligands (S = 1/2) through the fully occupied atomic orbitals of low-spin cobalt(III) (d6, S = 0). The effective magnetic moments of the complexes at 10 K are 0.18 μB for Co(ISQ-Pri)2Cl and 0.16 μB for Co(ISQ-Me)2I. The ground state of the manganese complex is triplet (S = 1). Two unpaired electrons of the o-iminobenzosemiquinone ligands are strongly antiferromagnetically coupled with two of four unpaired electrons of high-spin manganese(III) (d4, S = 2). A series of CuII, NiII, and CoII complexes with 5-(pyridylmethylidene)-substituted 2-thiohydantoins (L) were synthesized by the reactions of the corresponding organic ligands with MCl2·nH2O. The resulting complexes have the composition LMCl2 (M = Cu or Ni) or L2MCl2 (M = Co). The reactions with N(3)-unsubstituted thiohydantoins afford complexes containing four-membered metallacycles, in which the metal ion is coordinated by the S and N(3) atoms of the thiohydantoin ligand. The reactions of N(3)-substituted thiohydantoins give complexes in which the S and N(1) atoms are involved in coordination. Study by IR spectroscopy demonstrated that the pyridine nitrogen atom is not involved in coordination. Based on the results of electrochemical study of the ligands and complexes by cyclic voltammetry and calculation of their frontier orbitals by the PM3(tm) method, the mechanism of oxidation and reduction of these compounds was proposed. In the first reduction and oxidation steps, the metal atom in the copper and nickel complexes remains, apparently, intact, and these processes occur with the involvement of the ligand fragments, viz., the coordinated thiohydantoin ligand and chloride anion, respectively. In the cobalt complexes, the first reduction step occurs at the ligand; the first oxidation state, at the metal atom. Measurements of the contact angle of aqueous wetting and electrochemical study demonstrated that carboxy-containing 2-thiohydantoins and their complexes can be adsorbed on the cystamine-modified gold surface. The structures of the complexes on the surface differ from the structures of these complexes in solution. Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. A new vic-dioxime ligand, N,N′-bis(aminopyreneglyoxime) (LH2), and its copper(II), nickel(II) and cobalt(II) metal complexes were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, UVVIS and 1H and 13C NMR spectra (for the ligand). Mononuclear complexes were synthesized by a reaction of ligand (LH2) and salts of Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) in ethanol. The complexes have the metal-ligand ratio of 1: 2 and metals are coordinated by N,N′ atoms of vicinal dioximes. The ligand acts in a polydentate fashion bending through nitrogen atoms in the presence of a base, as do most vic-dioximes. Detection of a H-bonding in the Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) complexes by IR revealed the square-planar MN4 coordination of mononuclear complexes. Fluorescent properties of the ligand and its complexes arise from pyrene units conjugated with a vic-dioxime moiety. Fluorescence emission spectra of the ligand showed a drastic decrease in its fluorescence intensity upon metal binding. The electrochemical properties of the complexes were studied by the cyclic voltammetry technique. The nickel complex displayed an irreversible oxidation process while the copper complex exhibited a quasi-reversible oxidation and reduction processes based on the copper Cu(II)/Cu(III) and Cu(II)/Cu(I) couples, respectively.  相似文献

The synthesis, characterization, spectroscopic and electrochemical properties of trans-[CoIII(L1)(Py)2]ClO4 (I) and trans-[CoIII(L2)(Py)2]ClO4 (II) complexes, where H2L1 = N,N′-bis(5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzylidene)-1,3-propylenediamine and H2L2 = N,N′-bis(5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzylidene)-1,3-propylenediamine, have been investigated. Both complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, UV-Vis, and 1H NMR spectroscopy. The crystal structure of I has been determined by X-ray diffraction. The coordination geometry around cobalt(III) ion is best described as a distorted octahedron. The electrochemical studies of these complexes revealed that the first reduction process corresponding to Co(III/II) is electrochemically irreversible accompanied by dissociation of the axial Co-N(Py) bonds. The in vitro antimicrobial activity of the Schiff bse ligands and their corrsponding complexes have been tested against human pathogenic bacterias such as Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Escherichia coli. The cobalt(III) complexes showed lower antimicrobial activity than the free Schiff base ligands.  相似文献

The meso-tetrakis(4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)porphyrinato cobalt(II) complex [Co(TMFPP)] was synthesised in 93% yield. The compound was studied by 1H NMR, UV-visible absorption, and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The optical band gap Eg was calculated to 2.15 eV using the Tauc plot method and a semiconducting character is suggested. Cyclic voltammetry showed two fully reversible reduction waves at E1/2 = −0.91 V and E1/2 = −2.05 V vs. SCE and reversible oxidations at 0.30 V and 0.98 V representing both metal-centred (Co(0)/Co(I)/Co(II)/Co(III)) and porphyrin-centred (Por2−/Por) processes. [Co(TMFPP)] is a very active catalyst for the electrochemical formation of H2 from DMF/acetic acid, with a Faradaic Efficiency (FE) of 85%, and also catalysed the reduction of CO2 to CO with a FE of 90%. Moreover, the two triarylmethane dyes crystal violet and malachite green were decomposed using H2O2 and [Co(TMFPP)] as catalyst with an efficiency of more than 85% in one batch.  相似文献

The two title compounds were prepared from the ligand pydc with cobalt(II) acetate in the presence of L1 and L2 (L1 = 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane, L2 = 3-amino-1H-1,2,4-triazole, pydc = 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid). The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectrum and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Single crystal analysis shows that in two complexes coordination number around Co atom is six with distorted octahedral geometry, and both two complexes consist of ion pairs containing cationic [Co(H2O) n ]2+ and anionic [Co(pydc)2]2- units.  相似文献

A new vic-dioxime ligand containing benzophenone hydrazone units, N′-(benzophenone hydrazone)glyoxime [LH2] has been prepared from benzophenone hydrazone and anti-chloroglyoxime in absolute ethanol. Mononuclear nickel(II), cobalt(II), copper(II), zinc(II), and cadmium(II) complexes were also synthesized. Ligand and complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, FT-IR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR spectroscopy, magnetic moments, and DTA/TG techniques. On the basis of the magnetic and spectral evidences a square-planar geometry for Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes, tetrahedral for Cd(II) and Zn(II) complexes, and octahedral for Co(II) complex were proposed. Redox behaviors of ligand and its complexes were also investigated by cyclic voltammetry at the glassy carbon electrode.  相似文献

Cobalt(II) complexes of N-methyl phenyl, 1-phenylpiperazyl, and morpholinyl dithiocarbamates have been synthesized and characterized by UV–Visible, FTIR, 1H-, 13C-NMR, and mass spectrometry. The spectroscopic data indicated that two ligands coordinated in bidentate chelating to the metal ion to form four-coordinate cobalt(II) complexes (13), which was confirmed by mass analysis (TOF MS ES+) of the complexes with m/z [M]+ = 450.98, 382.94, and 382.94 for 1, 2, and 3, respectively. Single crystal analysis of 2A and 3A show centrosymmetric mononuclear cobalt(III) bonded to three dithiocarbamate ligands forming a distorted octahedral geometry, indicating the cobalt(II) undergoes aerial oxidation to cobalt(III) during recrystallization. In addition, 2A crystallized with one solvated molecule of toluene. The redox behaviors of the complexes were studied by cyclic and square wave voltammetry in dichloromethane; the result revealed a metal centered redox process consisting of a one-electron quasi-reversible process assigned to Co(III)/Co(IV) oxidation and a corresponding Co(IV)/Co(III) reduction. Randles–Sevcik plots (anodic peak current versus the square root of the scan rate (Ip,a versus ν1/2)) for the redox couples revealed diffusion-controlled behavior.  相似文献
