An extension of the standard model to the local gauge group as a three-family model is presented. The model does not contain exotic electric charges and we obtain a consistent mass spectrum by introducing an anomaly-free discrete Z2 symmetry. The neutral currents coupled to all neutral vector bosons in the model are studied. By using experimental results from the CERN LEP, SLAC Linear Collider and atomic parity violation data we constrain the mixing angle between two of the neutral currents in the model and the mass of the additional neutral gauge bosons to be and TeV at C.L., respectively.Received: 7 February 2004, Published online: 5 May 2004  相似文献

Measurements of the time-dependent CP-asymmetry in the decay and its charge conjugate by the BELLE and BABAR collaborations currently yield and , characterizing the direct and mixing-induced CP-asymmetries, respectively. We study the implication of these measurements on the CKM phenomenology taking into account the available information in the quark mixing sector. Our analysis leads to the results that the ratio |P c /T c | involving the QCD-penguin and tree amplitudes and the related strong phase difference in the decays are quite substantial. Using the isospin symmetry to constrain |P c /T c | and , where parameterizes the penguin-induced contribution, we present a fit of the current data including the measurements of and . Our best-fits yield , , , , and . At 68% C.L., the ranges are , , , and . Currently en vogue dynamical approaches to estimate the hadronic matrix elements in decays do not provide a good fit of the current data.Received: 5 April 2004, Published online: 14 July 2004A.Ya. Given a simple, simply laced, complex Lie algebra corresponding to the Lie group G, let be thesubalgebra generated by the positive roots. In this Letter we construct aBV algebra whose underlying graded commutative algebra is given by the cohomology, with respect to , of the algebra of regular functions on G with values in . We conjecture that describes the algebra of allphysical (i.e., BRST invariant) operators of the noncritical string. The conjecture is verified in the two explicitly known cases, 2 (the Virasoro string) and 3 (the string).  相似文献

Let H be a one-dimensional discrete Schrödinger operator. We prove that if ess(H)[–2,2], then HH0 is compact and ess(H)=[–2,2]. We also prove that if has at least one bound state, then the same is true for H0+V. Further, if has infinitely many bound states, then so does H0+V. Consequences include the fact that for decaying potential V with , H0+V has infinitely many bound states; the signs of V are irrelevant. Higher-dimensional analogues are also discussed. Inclusive jet cross sections are measured in photoproduction at HERA using the H1 detector. The data sample of events in the kinematic range of photon virtualities and photon-proton centre-of-mass energies represents an integrated luminosity of . Jets are defined using the inclusive algorithm. Single- and multi-differential cross sections are measured as functions of jet transverse energy ET jet and pseudorapidity in the domain and . The cross sections are found to be in good agreement with next-to-leading order perturbative QCD calculations corrected for fragmentation and underlying event effects. The cross section differential in ET jet, which varies by six orders of magnitude over the measured range, is compared with similar distributions from colliders at equal and higher energies.Received: 24 February 2003, Revised: 26 May 2003, Published online: 11 July 2003  相似文献

High-spin states in the odd-proton nucleus 173Lu have been populated in a 170Er(7Li,4n) reaction and the emitted -radiation was detected with the GASP array. The favoured and unfavoured sequences of the band have been considerably extended. The favoured sequence does not show any indication of a band crossing up to a rotational frequency of 0.45 MeV. This is the largest crossing frequency ever observed for 1/2- [541] bands of odd-proton nuclei with and . Previous Cranked Shell Model (CSM) calculations underestimate the crossing frequency by 100 keV.Received: 19 May 2003, Published online: 11 November 2003PACS: 21.10.-k Properties of nuclei; nuclear energy levels - 21.10.Re Collective levels - 23.20.Lv transitions and level energies - 27.70. + q   相似文献

Let δ be a quasi-free derivation of the CAR algebra, and let be a closed *-derivation which is an extension of δ. We use Price's techniques from [6] to show that if the polynomials in the linear field operators a(f)→a * (f) in D( ) is a core for , then is quasi-free.  相似文献

In the context of the littlest Higgs (LH) model, we study the process . We find that the new gauge bosons Z H and B H can produce significant correction effects on this process, which can be further enhanced by suitably polarized beams. In most of the parameter space preferred by the electroweak precision data, the absolute value of the relative correction parameter is larger than 5 %. As long as and the absolute value of the relative correction parameter is larger than . With reasonable values of the parameters of the LH model, the possible signals of the new gauge bosons B H and Z H can be detected via the process in the future LC experiments with the CM energy . B H exchange and Z H exchange can generate significantly corrections to the forward-backward asymmetry only in a small part of the parameter space.Received: 29 October 2004, Revised: 29 November 2004, Published online: 15 February 2005  相似文献

It is well known that the bosonized version of the Wakimoto construction allows the explicit realization of any affine algebra , with arbitrary level k in the homogeneous gradation, in terms of dim free bosonic fields. However, its extension in the principal gradation has been achieved only in the simplest case k=1. In this Letter we show, in the case of the simplest affine algebra ,that the bosonized Wakimoto realization can be extended to the principal gradation only when k is equal to the critical level, i.e., –2.In this case, this construction can be achieved in terms ofarbitrary number (larger than 1) of free bosonic fields.  相似文献

Spectroscopic studies performed with deep-inelastic heavy-ion reactions are reviewed for two regions of neutron-rich nuclei. The identification of isomers in nearly complete series of Sn isotopes and the resulting systematic of B(E2) values for isomeric transitions is presented and followed by the discussion of shell model states studied in neutron-rich Te isotopes including the new four neutron-hole isomers identified in 130Te. Yrast spectroscopy studies of nuclei from the doubly magic 208Pb region are described by outlining the highest spin states observed in the 208Pb core nucleus. The E3 transitions observed abundantly in yrast decays are discussed within the framework of particle-octupole vibration coupling and the validity of a simple rule connecting energy shifts of octupole states built on one-particle states with the ones observed for two-particle states is demonstrated.Received: 15 January 2003, Published online: 23 March 2004PACS: 21.60.Cs Shell model - 23.20.Lv transitions and level energies - 27.60. + j - 27.80. + w   相似文献

The dynamical effects of the entrance channel on the competition between quasifission and fusion processes, and on the evaporation residue formation are investigated. We have analyzed the results and compared our calculations with the experimental data obtained in the 16 O + 204 Pb and 96 Zr + 124 Sn reactions having very different mass asymmetries and leading to the 220 Th * compound nucleus. We have found that different partial capture cross-sections for these reactions lead to different fusion-quasifission competitions and, consequently, to different partial fusion cross-sections of the compound nucleus formed in the two reactions. The dynamical conditions also affect the fission-evaporation competition of the excited intermediate nuclei along the CN de-excitation cascade and, consequently, the evaporation residue formation.Received: 8 March 2004, Revised: 5 April 2004, Published online: 25 October 2004PACS: 25.70.Jj Fusion and fusion-fission reactions - 25.70.-z Low and intermediate energy heavy-ion reactions - 27.80. + w - 27.90. + b   相似文献

We have studied the structure of light neutron-rich nuclei around N = 16 by employing the in-beam -ray spectroscopy technique using the fragmentation of secondary beams of 25,26Ne, 27,28Na and 29,30Mg isotopes. This secondary-beam cocktail was obtained by the fragmentation of a 36S beam at 77.5 MeV by the SISSI/GANIL facility. By a second-step fragmentation, we have measured -ray-residue coincidences in 17-20C and 23,24O and described the obtained levels in the framework of the shell model.Received: 31 October 2002, Published online: 24 February 2004PACS: 23.20.Lv transitions and level energies - 21.60.Cs Shell model - 27.20. + n - 27.30. + t   相似文献

In [BEI92] we introduced a Levy process on a hierarchical lattice which is four dimensional, in the sense that the Green's function for the process equals . If the process is modified so as to be weakly self-repelling, it was shown that at the critical killing rate (mass-squared) c, the Green's function behaves like the free one. Now we analyze the end-to-end distance of the model and show that its expected value grows as a constant times , which is the same law as has been conjectured for self-avoiding walks on the simple cubic lattice 4. The proof uses inverse Laplace transforms to obtain the end-to-end distance from the Green's function, and requires detailed properties of the Green's function throughout a sector of the complex plane. These estimates are derived in a companion paper [BI02]. Research supported by NSF grant DMS-9706166 and NSERC of Canada.  相似文献

Using an effective Lagrangian approach as well as the Quark-Gluon Strings Model, we analyze near-threshold production of a 0(980)-mesons in the reaction as well as the background of non-resonant -pair production. We argue that the reaction at an energy release MeV is dominated by the intermediate production of the a 0(980)-resonance. At larger energies the non-resonant -pair production --where the kaons are produced in a relative P-wave-- becomes important. The effects of final-state interactions are evaluated in a unitarized scattering length approach and found to be in the order of a 20% suppression close to threshold. Thus, in present experiments at the Cooler Synchrotron COSY-Jülich for MeV the a 0 + signal can reliably be separated from the non-resonant background.Received: 26 February 2004, Published online: 21 September 2004PACS: 25.10. + s Nuclear reactions involving few-nucleon systems - 13.75.-n Hadron-induced low- and intermediate-energy reactions and scattering (energy GeV)  相似文献

Detailed fine-structure -decay studies of 188,190Bi were performed using the complete-fusion reactions of 50,52Cr ions with a 142Nd target at the velocity filter SHIP. The evaporation residues were separated in-flight and subsequently identified on the basis of recoil- , recoil- - /X-ray and excitation function measurements. Improved data on the -decay of 188,190Bi were obtained and a number of new low-lying excited states in the daughters 184,186Tl were observed. An intruder, presumably 10- state was identified in 184Tl, extending the systematics of such states in the odd-odd Tl nuclei beyond the neutron mid-shell at N = 104. Some technical aspects of experiment at recoil separators are also discussed.Received: 14 March 2003, Revised: 1 May 2003, Published online: 2 September 2003PACS: 23.60.+e decay - 27.70.+q - 27.80.+w C.D. In this Letter, we consider Kontsevich's wheel operators for linear Poisson structures, i.e. on the dual of Lie algebras . We prove that these operators vanish on each invariant polynomial function on *. This gives a characterization of the Kontsevich star products which are deformations relative to the algebra of invariant functions.  相似文献

It is shown that the elliptic algebra at the critical level c = –2 has a multidimensional center containing some trace-like operators t(z). A family of Poisson structures indexed by a non-negative integer and containing the q-deformed Virasoro algebra is constructed on this center. We show also that t(z) close an exchange algebra when p m = q c+2 for , they commute when in addition p = q 2k for k integer non-zero, and they belong to the center of when k is odd. The Poisson structures obtained for t(z) in these classical limits contain the q-deformed Virasoro algebra, characterizing the structures at p q 2k as new algebras.  相似文献

A short summary of the present status of prompt particle decays in the mass region is presented. It includes recent results from a GAMMASPHERE experiment, which aimed at the combined high-resolution spectroscopy of light charged particles and -rays to allow for more detailed studies of known decays and the identification of new cases of discrete prompt proton and -particle emission from highly and superdeformed states.Received: 10 October 2002, Published online: 17 February 2004PACS: 23.50. + z Decay by proton emission - 23.60. + e decay - 27.40. + z - 27.50. + e   相似文献
