A neutron coincidence spectrum from the deuteron breakup 2H(n, nn)p was measured at the kinematical condition of quasifree neutron-neutron scattering with 25 MeV neutrons in the entrance channel. The efficiencies of both scintillation detectors were calibrated in the same experimental arrangement as the breakup measurement was performed. The neutron flux was monitored by a proton recoil telescope. Absorption, double scattering and geometric conditions have been simulated by the Monte Carlo technique. From a fit based on the Ebenhöh-Bruinsma-Stuivenberg code with the neutron-neutron scattering length ann = ?16.6 fm for the effective range, the value rnn = 2.69 ± 0.27 fm was determined.  相似文献

Accurate knowledge of the neutron energy spectra is useful in basic research and applications. The overall procedure of measuring and unfolding the fast neutron energy spectra with BC501A liquid scintillation detector is described. The recoil proton spectrum of 241Am-Be neutrons was obtained experimentally. With the NRESP7 code, the response matrix of detector was simulated. Combining the recoil proton spectrum and response matrix, the unfolding of neutron spectra was performed by GRAVEL iterative algorithm. A MatLab program based on the GRAVEL method was developed. The continuous neutron spectrum of 241Am-Be source and monoenergetic neutron spectrum of D-T source have been unfolded successfully and are in good agreement with their standard reference spectra. The unfolded 241Am-Be spectrum are more accurate than the spectra unfolded by artificial neural networks in recent years.  相似文献

The scission neutron spectrum was obtained as a difference between the integral experimental fission neutron spectrum evaluated by Mannhart based on measurements in the laboratory reference system from several authors in the different neutron energy ranges, and the laboratory fission neutron spectrum stemming only from those neutrons which are evaporated from the fully accelerated fission fragments. The scission neutron spectrum was represented by a Weisskopf evaporation spectrump s(? l )=P 0/(T s)2·?l·exp(??l/Ts). A least squares fit gave for the fraction of scission neutrons with respect to all fission neutrons a value ofp 0=(0.011±0.003) and for the pseudo scission neutron temperature a value ofT s=(0.20±0.03) MeV. The low pseudo temperature is compatible with a cold nuclear matter of the prescission configuration. The low energy of the scission neutrons indicates that they come from a slowly moving source. The width of the distribution suggests that the source is small: radius of about 5 fm. This information conforms with the idea of satellite droplets which are formed when the neck snaps.  相似文献

The (γ, n)-reactions on carbon and oxygen were studied using the 30,5 MeV brems-strahlung beam of the Heidelberg betatron. The photoneutrons were detected via the recoil protons in a stilbene scintillator. The pulse height spectrum of scintillations produced in the stilbene crystal by the recoil protons is analyzed to yield the incident neutron energy distribution. Theγ-ray and electron background was strongly reduced through pulse shape discrimination. To test the apparatus the spectrum of the neutrons from a Po-α-Be source was measured. The energy spectrum of the photo-neutrons from O16 shows clearly two peaks at excitation energies of 22,4 and 24,4 MeV also seen in the photo-proton spectra. The energy distribution of the neutrons from C12 (γ, n) too contains indication of structure already known from the proton spectra from C12 (γ, p). The derived cross sections of C12 (γ, n 0) and O16 (γ, n 0) coincide as well in their shape as in their absolute magnitude with the corresponding (γ, p 0)-cross sections. In both C12 (γ, n) and O16 (γ, n)-reaction the neutrons seem to leave the final nucleus mainly in its ground state.  相似文献

We present the measurements of the spin correlation parameterA ookk (np). A longitudinally polarized beam of free neutrons obtained from the break-up of polarized deuterons was scattered on the longitudinally polarized Saclay frozen-spin proton target. Measurements were carried out at SATURNE II, at neutron beam kinetic energies of 0.63, 0.88, 0.98 and 1.08 GeV. The data points cover the angular region from about 40° to 110° CM. The observed angular dependence ofA ookk (np) at 0.63 GeV agree with the phase shift analysis predictions except at small angles.  相似文献

The longitudinal polarization of neutrons has been measured for the reaction T→p, →n)3He with the incident proton beam longitudinally polarized. Measurements were performed at 0° for proton energies from 4 to 15 MeV and an angular distribution was measured at 10 MeV. The data determine the polarization transfer coefficient Kzz, which is equivalent to the Wolfenstein A′ parameter for nucleon-nucleon scattering. The quantity Kzz at 0° increases from about 0.3 at 3 MeV incident energy to 0.9 at 9 MeV, and then decreases to 0.5 at 15 MeV. The data are computed with R-matrix calculations which reproduce the qualitative shape of the data at 0° and the angular distribution at 10 MeV.  相似文献

At the recoil spectrometer “Lohengrin” of the Institut Laue-Langevin in Grenoble, the yields of the light fission products from the thermal-neutron-induced fission of 239Pu were measured as a function of A, Z, the kinetic energy E and the ionic charge states q. The nuclear charge and mass distributions summed over all ionic charge states were determined for different light fissionproduct kinetic energies between 93 and 112 MeV. The proton odd-even effect which was measured to be (11.6 ± 0.6)% causes considerable fine structure in the yields. The average kinetic energy of even-Z elements in the light fission-product group is 0.3 ± 0.1 MeV larger than for odd-Z elements. The neutron odd-even effect is (6.5 ± 0.7)%. The comparison with previously published data 1) for thermal-neutron-induced fission of 235U reveals a correlation between the proton odd-even effect in the yield and in the kinetic energy of the elements. The dependence of the proton odd-even effect on the fragmentation is very similar for 235U and 239Pu when it is considered as a function of the nuclear charge of the heavy fission products. The isobaric variances σz2. for thermal-neutron fission of 235U and 239Pu coincide at all kinetic energies if the influence of the proton odd-even effect is averaged out. This supports the hypothesis that the magnitude of σz2 is determined only by quantum-mechanical zero-point fluctuations. The influence of the spherical shells Z = 50 and N = 82 on the fragmentation is discussed.  相似文献

The differential cross sections for neutron-proton charge-exchange scattering have been measured for incident neutron momenta between 8 and 29 GeV/c and for four-momentum transfers |t| between 0.002 and 1.0 (GeV/c)2. A neutron beam with a broad momentum spectrum was scattered from a liquid hydrogen target. The momenta and scattering angles of the forward-scattered protons were measured by a spark-chamber magnet spectrometer. The flight times and scattering angles of the recoil neutrons were measured by a bank of thick scintillation counters. The efficiencies of the neutron counters were determined in a separate measurement. Absolute normalization of the data was obtained from a measurement of the diffraction dissociation of neutrons from carbon nuclei. Differential cross sections, based on ~ 23 000 events, are presented for 9 different momenta. The shape of the differential cross sections and the momentum dependence are examined in detail.  相似文献

An innovative accelerator-based neutron source for boron neutron capture therapy has started operation at the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics, Novosibirsk. This facility is based on a compact vacuum insulation tandem accelerator designed to produce proton current up to 10 mA. Epithermal neutrons are proposed to be generated by 1.915 MeV protons bombarding a lithium target using 7Li(p,n)7Be threshold reaction.In the article, techniques to detect neutron and gamma-rays at the facility are described. Gamma radiation is measured with NaI and BGO gamma-spectrometers. The total yield of neutrons is determined by measuring the 477 keV γ-quanta from beryllium decay. For the rough analysis of the generated neutron spectrum we used bubble detectors. As the epithermal neutrons are of interest for neutron capture therapy the NaI detector is used as activation detector. We plan to use a time-of-flight technique for neutron spectra measurement. To realize this technique a new solution of short time neutron generation is proposed.  相似文献

利用中国原子能科学研究院核工业放射性计量测试中心的5SDH-2串列加速器进行了ST-401薄塑料闪烁体的能量响应实验.选用T(p,n)3He反应和D(d,n)3He反应作为中子源,子源,中子束流采用复合屏蔽体进行准直,源强采用正比计数管和半导体望远镜进行监测,实验测量了厚度从0.16mm到2.00mm的八种规格薄闪烁体的能量响应曲线,对实验的结果的不确定度进行了分析.结果表明探测器的灵敏度随着晶体厚度的增加而增加,对于一定厚度的薄闪烁体,随着中子能量的增加,探测器的能量响应曲线坡度不大. 关键词: 塑料闪烁体 能量响应 正比计数器 半导体反冲质子望远镜  相似文献

The polarization of the recoil neutrons from the reaction γp→π+n was measured at a c.m. angle of 105° for incident photon energies between 675 and 1125 MeV. A scattered π+ meson and a recoil neutron were detected in coincidence with a magnetic spectrometer and a neutron polarimeter system using liquid hydrogen. Results are compared with recent phenomenological analyses and the other existing data measured by the double polarization measurement technique.  相似文献

The aim of this work is the experimental observation of and research into a rare neutron mode, the radiative beta decay, where a new particle, the radiative gamma quantum, is formed along with the expected decay products: a beta electron, a recoil proton, and an antineutrino. The discovery of this rare neutron decay mode was conducted through identification of triple-coincidence events: simultaneous registration of a beta electron, a proton, and a radiative gamma quantum. The ordinary neutron decay was registered by double coincidences of a beta electron and a recoil proton. The statistics collected allow one to deduce the branching ratio (BR) BR = (3.2 ± 1.6) × 10−3 (90% C.L.) in the gamma energy region greater than 35 keV. A new measurement ofΔσ T for polarized neutrons transmitted through a polarized proton target at 16.2 MeV has been made. A polarized neutron beam was produced with the3H(d, n)4 He reaction; proton polarization over 90% was achieved in a frozen spin target of 20 cm3 volume. The measurement yields the valueΔσ T=(?126±21±14) mb. The result of a simple phase shift analysis for the3 S 1?3 D 1 mixing parameter ε1 is presented and compared with the theoretical potential model predictions.  相似文献

Unknownβ-delayed proton precursor135Gd has been synthesized by the reaction106Cd (32S, 3n) and identified using a helium-jet recoil fast tape-transport system with aγ(X)-p coincidence measurements. A series of experiments has been conducted at the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics (FLNP) of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in order to study the possibility of determining the moisture content of coke using a standard neutron source. The proposed method is based on a measurement of the spectrum of prompt γ rays emitted when samples are irradiated by fast and/or thermal neutrons. The moisture content is determined from the area of the peaks of characteristic γ rays produced in the radiative capture of thermal neutrons by the proton (Eγ = 2.223 MeV) and inelastic scattering of fast neutrons by 16O (Eγ = 6.109 MeV). The 239Pu–Be neutron source (〈E n 〉 ~ 4.5 MeV) with an intensity of ~5 × 106 n/s was used to irradiate the samples under study. A scintillation detector based on a BGO crystal was used to register the characteristic γ radiation from the inelastic fast neutron scattering and slow (thermal) neutron capture. The neutrons from a Po-α-Be source were detected via the recoil protons in a stilbene scintillator. The pulse height spectrum of the scintillations produced in the stilbene crystal by the recoil protons is analysed to yield the incident neutron energy distribution. Theγ-ray background was eliminated through pulse shape discrimination. Separately the spectrum of neutrons coincident withγ-rays, i.e. of neutrons from the Be9(α,n)C12* reaction, has been determined. The resulting spectra are compared to previous measurements. The structure of the spectra is not compatible with an isotropic angular distribution of the neutrons relative to theα-direction. Furthermore it could be shown that the fraction of reactions leading to the 7,65 MeV state of C12 is only about 10?3.  相似文献

 利用Geant4系统模拟了在高能中子照射下,塑料闪烁光纤中产生的反冲质子的分布特性,分析了入射中子能量分别为2,4,6,8 MeV时,产生的反冲质子能量和方向分布,给出了反冲质子在不同方向上的能量分布。结果表明:向前和向后出射的质子分布不对称;反冲质子的能量在零与入射中子能量之间连续地分布;接近垂直入射方向产生的质子数较多;入射中子能量越高,产生质子数越少;反冲质子的出射角度越小,其能量越大,即沿着入射中子方向的反冲质子能量较大,垂直入射方向的反冲质子能量较小。  相似文献

New data on the production of protons, anti-protons and neutrons in p+p interactions are presented. The data come from a sample of 4.8 million inelastic events obtained with the NA49 detector at the CERN SPS at 158 GeV/c beam momentum. The charged baryons are identified by energy loss measurement in a large TPC tracking system. Neutrons are detected in a forward hadronic calorimeter. Inclusive invariant cross sections are obtained in intervals from 0 to 1.9 GeV/c (0 to 1.5 GeV/c) in transverse momentum and from ?0.05 to 0.95 (?0.05 to 0.4) in Feynman x for protons (anti-protons), respectively. p T integrated neutron cross sections are given in the interval from 0.1 to 0.9 in Feynman x. The data are compared to a wide sample of existing results in the SPS and ISR energy ranges as well as to proton and neutron measurements from HERA and RHIC.  相似文献
