We report new measurements of the neutron–deuteron elastic scattering cross section at energies from 135 to 250 MeV and center-of-mass angles from 80? to 130?. Cross sections for neutron-proton elastic scattering were also measured with the same experimental setup for normalization purposes. Our nd cross section results are compared with predictions based on Faddeev calculations including three-nucleon forces, and with cross sections measured with charged particle and neutron beams at comparable energies.  相似文献

The results obtained by measuring the cross sections for the inelastic scattering of very cold neutrons for a number of metals and polymers by the method of a neutron-irradiation analysis are presented. The method is based on simultaneously measuring events of inelastic scattering and neutron capture in the sample under investigation via recording gamma radiation with a semiconductor germanium detector. Neutron capture by a nucleus of the sample is accompanied by the prompt radiation of gamma rays having a known spectrum. Upon inelastic scattering, a neutron acquires thermal energy. Upon leaving the sample, this neutron is absorbed in a special converter that contains the isotope 10B. The capture of the neutron by a 10B nucleus is followed by the emission of a 477-keV gamma ray. The probabilities of capture and inelastic scattering are proportional to the respective neutron-interaction cross sections, and the ratio of the recorded detector counts corresponding to events of the two types does not depend on the spectrum of the incident flux of very cold neutrons or on the trajectory of neutron motion in the sample. The sought inelastic-scattering cross section at a fixed sample temperature is calculated by using this ratio and the known cross section for neutron capture by the sample isotope having a known gamma-radiation spectrum.  相似文献

Measurements of differential elastic and inelastic cross sections for neutron scattering from 16O at incident energies 18 to 26 MeV are presented. In addition to cross sections for neutron scattering differential cross sections for proton scattering up to 66 MeV are described in terms of phenomenological optical model potentials. At 24.5 MeV incident energy inelastic scattering up to 11.5 MeV excitation was measured. The elastic and inelastic compound nucleus contributions were examined. Direct inelastic scattering from the normal parity states was calculated using the DWBA and coupled-channel formalisms. The inelastic scattering cross section from non-normal parity state 2 was calculated using the coupled-channel formalism via multi-step processes. Cross sections due to inelastic scattering from some of the states, which are thought to be members of an excited state rotational band were calculated using both vibrational and rotational approaches and were compared.  相似文献

The total cross section for photoproduction of hadrons on the deutron, σTd, has been measured for photon energies in the range 0.265–40215 GeV. From this, using results for the photon total cross section, obtained previously with the same apparatus, the neutron total cross section has been determined in the resonance region. The resonant structure is found to be quite different from that for the proton. Thereafter the neutron cross section falls off steadily with energy, and the values obtained are consistently lower than those for the proton. Forward scattering amplitudes have been evaluated for the deuteron.  相似文献

The differential elastic neutron scattering cross sections of141Pr were measured at the incident neutron energies of 1.2, 1.7 and 1.9 MeV in the angular range between 25 and 150 degrees. At 1.7 MeV the differential inelastic neutron scattering cross sections corresponding toQ=?1122 keV, and at 1.9 MeV the ones corresponding toQ=?1122, andQ=?1295 keV were also determined. In a transmission experiment, the total cross section was measured between 0.50 and 2.42 MeV. The total and differential cross sections were calculated using the nuclear optical model. 56Fe的非弹性散射截面在核装置中子输运计算中扮演着重要的角色,但无论从实验数据还是从评价数据,非弹性散射截面都存在很大分歧,它的数据直接影响到核装置的设计、建造与运行维护。本工作从实验数据本身出发,深入分析了不同实验室测得的847 keV的γ产生截面的分歧,经转化后补充非弹性散射截面的实验空白能区,并同时利用满足全截面、去弹截面等截面自洽关系的评价方法推荐了高精度的快中子与56Fe的非弹反应截面结果。积分检验表明,新的非弹截面的改进使得评价数据与积分实验结果一致,较CENDL-3.1的评价数据结果有显著改善。Knowledge about the inelastic scattering cross section of 56Fe is very important in neutron transportation calculation. However there are great discrepancies not only between experimental data but also between evaluated data. More detail analysis was performed for inelastic scattering cross section in the fast range up to 20 MeV where there are significant differences among the main evaluated libraries, mainly caused by the different inelastic scattering cross section measurements. The large discrepancies on 56Fe(n, n1'γ) cross section which could fill the neutron energy blank of the 56Fe(n,inl) were clarified and were converted to the inelastic scattering cross section of 56Fe. And the high-quality results were evaluated by using the unitarity constrain among total cross section, noelastic reaction and other reactions. The integral experiment result indicates that the new evaluated result of inelastic cross section brings greater improvement than that of CENDL-3.1.  相似文献

Coherent neutron scattering lengths and free cross sections were measured in order to determine the spin dependent scattering lengths of the isotopes of Li and B. The transmission measurements on Li at neutron energies of 0.51 meV, 1.26 eV and 5.19 eV delivered data for the6Li-abundances in the samples and for the free scattering cross section of7Li. By means of experiments on 15 different samples of lithium compounds we obtained the complex spin state scattering lengths for the bound atoms to be: (ie81-01) Measurements on 3 boron samples with different enrichments led to (ie81-02) A review on slow neutron scattering and resonance data shows an over all consistency of all values.  相似文献

The interaction between deuterons and 58, 62Ni nuclei at energies of E d = 3.5, 4.5 and 5.16 MeV is investigated. The discrepancy between measured scattering elastic cross section and the Rutherford ones is higher than the value calculated theoretically by considering deuterons polarization and Coulomb breakup. Analysis of measured cross section of 58, 62Ni(d, p) reaction and the results of calculation of Coulomb breakup cross section integrated over neutron emission angles shows that that the dominant mechanism of proton formation is the reaction of neutron transfer to the target nucleus.  相似文献

Accurate measurements of neutron differential elastic cross sections have been obtained from even isotopes of Sn. Data are presented for the elastic scattering of 11 MeV neutrons from 116, 118, 120, 122, 124Sn, the elastic scattering for 24 MeV neutrons from 116, 118, 124Sn and the neutron total cross section from 118, 120, 122, 124Sn in the energy ranges 5.0–10.6 MeV and 20.0–26.0 MeV. The elastic scattering data are analyzed in terms of an empirical optical-model potential. The obtained optical-potential parameters are analyzed in terms of energy and isospin dependence and compared with those obtained from proton elastic scattering on even Sn isotopes.  相似文献

The analyzing power of 6Li for the elastic scattering of polarized neutrons with energies between 2 and 4 MeV, has been measured at six angles ranging from 25° to 150°. The polarized neutrons were generated from the reactions Pb(γ, n) and 12C(n, n), and their polarization was measured using the double-scattering method. The neutron energies were determined with a nanosecond timeof-flight spectrometer. In addition, the differential cross section was measured at three angles in the same energy range; the cross section was determined relative to the well-known n-12C cross section. The present results have been combined with existing data for the neutron total, (n, α), and differential elastic cross sections, in a reduced R-function analysis. Clear evidence of a p-wave triplet of shellmodel states emerges from the analysis.  相似文献

The TCAPM was developed to absolute and precise fission cross section measurement for neutron energies from 2 MeV up to 19 MeV. Experimental results of absolute fission cross section measurements on 233U, 235U, 238U, -237Np, 239Pu and 212Pu are given. As a preparation for the new experiment to measure the ne scattering length ane the total neutron cross section of gaseous argon has been obtained by the time-of-flight method at the Dubna booster IBR-30 in the energy range from ~5 eV to ~30 keV. A combined one-level analysis of the newly obtained and other known data on cross sections of Ar and 36Ar has made it possible to improve some neutron parameters and calculate the scattering cross section σs and the scattering length a separately for 36Ar and 40Ar at any energy.  相似文献

The partial differential cross section of inelastic magnetic neutron scattering from the compound LaCoO3 in the paramagnetic phase is studied theoretically. The contribution to scattering from the high-spin state of an ion in zero magnetic field and the modification of this contribution upon application of a magnetic field are calculated using the effective Hamiltonian for the 5 D term. The amplitude of the peak in the dependence of the scattering cross section on the energy of scattered neutrons, which corresponds to the transition from the low-spin to the intermediate-spin state, is estimated.  相似文献

在中国原子能科学研究院HI-13 串列加速器上的非常规多探测器快中子飞行时间谱仪上,采用直接中子法测量了14.3 MeV 中子与169Tm作用的(n,2n) 反应截面。用蒙特卡罗方法模拟了次级中子的产生,以对实验数据进行中子注量率衰减、多次散射和有限几何修正,同时结合SUNF 方法得到的评价能谱,给出了(n,2n) 反应截面的实验测量结果。测量截面以中子弹性散射微分截面作为标准截面来归一,并用反冲质子望远镜测量n-p 反应的反冲质子,以监视中子注量率。用直接中子法测量得到的结果与评价数据进行了比较,讨论了采用这种方法测量(n,2n) 反应截面的可行性。(n,2n) reaction cross section from 169Tm at 14.3 MeV was measured with the direct emittedneutron coincidence detecting method, using abnormal fast neutron TOF spectrometer on the HI-13 Tandem Accelerator at CIAE. Monte-Carlo method was used to simulate the generation of secondary neutron and correct the experimental data considering neutron flux attenuation, multiple scattering and finite geometry correction. Combining with evaluated spectra given by SUNF program, the experimental measurement results of the (n,2n) reaction cross sections were given. Cross sections of measurements were normalized by using neutron elastic scattering differential cross section as a standard section, and a recoil proton telescope was used to measure recoiling proton from the n-p reaction to monitor neutron flux rate. After comparing the experimental results with evaluated data, the feasibility of the direct emitted-neutron coincidence detecting method is discussed.  相似文献

The poor knowledge of the spin-dependent neutron scattering length of 3He has until now handicapped nuclear four body theory and the interpretation of excitations in the quantum liquid. We have measured, for the first time directly, the real part of the bound incoherent neutron scattering length, bi′ of 3He. A neutron spin echo spectrometer was used to detect pseudomagnetic precession of polarised neutrons passing through polarised 3He gas. Any absolute calibrations of sample and beam parameters were avoided using simple transmission measurements with non-polarised neutrons. The only a priory information required was the spin-dependent neutron absorption cross section of 3He. The result is bi′ = -2.365(20) fm, which reduces the prior uncertainty by a factor 30. The corresponding new value of the bound incoherent scattering cross section is σi = 1.532(12) barn. Including the known value of the coherent neutron scattering length, we obtain new values for the real parts of the free triplet and singlet neutron scattering lengths, a-′ = 7.370(58) fm and a+′ = 3.278(53) fm.  相似文献

The elastic scattering differential cross section for p-48Ca and p-48Ti at 1 GeV are discussed. Calculations based on self-consistent proton and neutron densities fail to reproduce the experimental data. As shown by simple arguments, the discrepancy may be related to incorrect nuclear surface slopes.  相似文献
