The decay of125m Xe produced by the reaction122Te(α, n)125m Xe using a target enriched in122Te (95.4%) and the decay of127m Xe produced by the reaction127J(d, 2n)127m Xe have been investigated: 125m Xe decays with a half-life ofT 1/2=(56±3) sec by ayy- cascade withE γ1=(140.4 ±0.5) keV andE γ2=(110.5 ±0.5) keV. The experimental conversion coefficients yield multipolarities ofE3 for the 140.4 keV isomeric transition and predominantlyM1 for the 110.5 keV-transition. 127m Xe decays with a half-life ofT 1/2=(71±2) sec. The decay also proceeds by aγγ-cascade with an isomeric E3 transition ofE γ1=(172.5±0.3) keV and a predominantlyM1 transition ofE γ2=(124.6±0.3) keV. In the decay of127g Xe an additional branching of the electron capture to a level at (618.1±0.3) keV was observed. The relative probability forK-captureP K618/PK375=0.40 ±0.07 yields a total transition energyQ EC=(664 ±4)keV. A spin of 1/2+ was assigned to the ground state.  相似文献

The hyperfine structure of the 32P3/2 State of Na23has been measured by the optical double resonance technique in a magnetic field of 3.1 kG sufficiently strong to decouple completelyI andJ. In the case of π or (σ+?) excitation the double resonance signal represents the superposition curve of eight unresolved radio-frequency transitions. The dependence of the signal on the pressure of sodium vapour and the radio-frequency field strength has been studied. The analysis of the experimental curves yields for the hyperfine coupling constants the valuesa=(18.7±0.4) Mc/s andb=(3.4±0.4) Mc/s. The nuclear electric quadrupole moment derived from the ratio ofb/a isQ=(0.146±0.02) · 10?24cm2. The Lande factor and the lifetime for the 32P3/2state are gJ=1.3344±0.0004 and τ=(1.61±0.07) · 10?8 sec.  相似文献

Co60m was produced by the reaction Co59 (n,γ) Co60m ; its decay has been investigated by scintillation spectrometers. The half-period has been remeasured yielding a value ofT 1/2=(10·35 ±0·20) min. The isomeric decay mainly leads to the Co60 ground state by a (58·6±0·6) keV transition. TheK-conversion coefficientα K= 41±3 and the total conversion coefficientα=47±3 indicate the transition to beM3 and the spin of Co60m to be 2+. Further Co60m decays by beta transitions to Ni60. The beta component (8·6±1·2)·10?3%, log ft=7·32 leading to a (2·16±0·02) MeV level has been measured for the first time. A second component (0·24±0·03)%, log ft=7·23 leads to the 1·33 MeV level. The 2·16 MeV level decays to the Ni60 ground state mainly by a 0·83–1·33 MeV cascade, in a few cases by a direct transition. The spin of the 2·16 MeV level is 2+. Zr90m was produced by the reaction Zr90 (n,n′) Zr90m . The half-period was measured yielding a value ofT 1/2=(0·83±0·03) sec. Zr90m decays in the following way: (77±5) % by a direct (2·31±0·02) MeV —E 5 transition to the Zr ground state and (23±5)% by a (132·5±1·5) keV-(2·18±0·03) MeV cascade detected for the first time in the isomeric decay. TheK-conversion coefficient of the 132·5 keV transition isα k=(2·2±0·3) indicating this transition to beE3 and the spin of the 2·18 MeV level to be 2+. The Zr90m -decay sheme is in accordance with the level sequence of Zr90 as measured in the Nb90 decay.  相似文献

A combined analysis of the available data on the primaryγ-ray intensities from the113Cd(n, γ) reaction atE n=1.9 and 24.3 keV neutron energies together with the data on113Cd neutron capture cross sections in theE n=3–200 keV energy region was carried out. The neutron strength functions were determined asS n0=(0.260±0.073) 10?4 and Sn1=(5.06±0.67) 10?4. No spin-orbit splitting of thep-wave neutron strength function was found. The energy dependence of theE 1 radiative strength function {ie147-01} was fitted by the Kadmenski-Furman model somewhat better than by a standard Lorentzian. TheM 1 giant resonance parameters were obtained as E G M 1 =8.8±1.6 MeV and Γ G M 1 = 4.7±2.6 MeV. The neutron capture cross section of113Cd from its isomeric state ({ie147-02}=11/2?, E 1 m =263.7 keV) was calculated.  相似文献

Tb158m was produced from Tb159 by (n, 2n) reaction and investigated using scintillation spectrometers. The following results were obtained: half-life\(T_{\tfrac{1}{2}} = (10.5 \pm 0.2)\) sec; energy of the isomeric transitionE γ =(109.9±1.4) keV; conversion coefficients α K =56±3; α L M +?=50±8; αtotal=106±10;K/L-ratioK/L=1.3±0.3, yielding the multipole order of the isomeric transition to beM3. Upper limits for the direct beta transitions from the isomeric state to the ground states of the neighbouring even-even nuclei Gd158 and Dy158 are 10?4 and 6·10?3, respectively.  相似文献

The decay of115m In has been investigated using accurate counting methods. The emission rate of conversion electrons plusβ ?-particles was determined with a 4π proportional flow counter. The total andK-shell internal conversion coefficients of the 336 keVγ-ray in115In were measured by the electron X-ray coincidence method using combinations of a Si surface barrier with a NaI(Tl) detector and of a magneticβ-spectrometer with a high energy resolution Si(Li) detector, respectively. The conversion ratioR=K/(L+M+...) was deduced from electron spectra recorded with the magneticβ-spectrometer. The 336 keVγ-ray emission rate of all used sources was determined with a calibrated NaI(Tl)γ-ray spectrometer. A Ge(Li) detector has been used to determine the relative intensity of the 497 keVγ-ray in115Sn. As results have been deduced the 336 keVγ-ray emission per decay (N γ1/N 0=(45.9 ± 0.1)%), the total internal conversion coefficient (α=1.073 ± 0.014), theK-shell internal conversion coefficient (α K=0.843±0.012), the conversion ratioR=3.63±0.07, theβ ?-transition per decay going to the ground state (N β1/N 0=(5.0 ± 0.7)%) and to the first excited level in115Sn115Sn(N β2/N 0=(0.047 ± 0.002)%), and the 497 keVγ-ray emission (N γ2/N γ1=(0.103 ± 0.004)%). From the obtained internal conversion data it follows that the 336 keVγ-ray transition is ofM4 character with anE5 admixture of less than (3.5±1.5)%. The half-life of the isomeric state115 mIn has been determined with four different methods. The result isT 1/2=(4.486±0.004) h.  相似文献

The electron capture decay and the positron decay of84Rb were investigated using NaJ (Tl)-detectors and a Ge (Li)-detector. Measurements of all intensities and of some informative double and triple coincidences were performed. From coincidence measurements betweenK-X-radiation and the following γ-radiation we got theK-fluorescence yield of Krypton ΩitK=0.653 ± 0.004. Taking in consideration former measurements1 one concludes a continuous behaviour of ΩitK(Z) forZ=36, 37 and 38 within an uncertainty of 1%. For the branching ratios of the decay of84Rb we obtained The half-life of84Rb was determined to beT 1/2=(34.5 ± 0.2) d.  相似文献

The new experiment planned at Brookhaven to measure the anomalous magnetic moment of the muona μ≡(g μ?2)/2 will improve the present accuracy of 7 ppm by about a factor of 20. This requires a careful reconsideration of the theoretical uncertainties of theg?2 predictions, which are dominated by the error of the contribution from the light quarks to the photon vacuum polarization. This issue is cruicial also for the precise determination of the running fine structure constant at theZ-peak as LEP/SLC experiments continue to increase their precision. In this paper we present an updated analysis of the hadronic vacuum polarization using all presently availablee +e? data. This seems to be justified because previous work on the subject was based to some extent on preliminary or incomplete experimental data. Contributions from different energy ranges are presented separately forg?2 of the muon and the τ-lepton and for α(M Z 2 ). We obtain the resultsa μ had* =(725±16)×10?10 anda τ had* =(351±10)×10?8, where the asterisk indicates the dressed (renormalization group improved) value. For the effective fine structure constant atM Z=91.1888 GeV we obtainΔα had (5) =0.0280±0.0007 and α(M Z 2 )?1=128.896±0.090. Further improvement in the accuracy of theoretical predictions which depend on the hadronic vacuum polarization requires more precise measurements ofe +e? cross-sections at energies below about 12 GeV in future experiments.  相似文献

Changes of the radioactive decay rate of71Ge (T 1/2=11.43 days) have been studied experimentally for71Ge in some compounds of bivalent and quadrivalent germanium. Relative changes Δλ/λ of the electron capture probability have been measured, and the chemical changes Δρ(0) of the electron density at the germanium nuclei have been determined from these measurements. Values for the Mössbauer isomer shift calibration constants for the 67 keV γ-transition of73Ge have been estimated:C=δ/Δρ(0)=(0.061±0.020) mm·s?1/a.u., Δ〈r 2〉=(21±7)·10?3 fm2, ΔR/R=(6.9±2.3)·10?4.  相似文献

Thermal cycling of the lattice temperature was used to determine the nuclear spin lattice relaxation of191m IrFe in polarizing fields of 0.05 to 1.3 T. At low temperatures, the relaxation time is not very much shorter than the lifetime of191m Ir. In the first part of the paper, the master equation formalism is extended to include a finite lifetime. Our result for the reduced relaxation constant, γ2 C K =(1.48±0.11)·1014 K s?1 T?2 (high field limit) is in serious disagreement with that of a spin echo measurement of193IrFe, but fits much better into the general systematics. A comparison of relaxation rates for 3d-, 4d-, and 5d-impurities in Fe is given. As a by-product, a Kapitza conductivity constant ofl K =1.5 mW cm?2 K?4±30% was found between Fe and dilute3He/4He.  相似文献

The short lived indium isomer produced by thermal neutron capture is confirmed to be In116. A new determination of half-live andγ energy yieldsT 1/2=(2.17α0.07) sec andE γ=(164±1) keV. The spin-polarization of the optically pumped Na-groundstate is investigated in presence of the stable He- and H2-isotopes. The following disorientation cross sections are derived from the pressure dependence of the relaxation rate:σ=(16.2±2.0) · 10?26 cm2 for He3 σ=(2.4±0.5) · 10?26 cm2 for He4 σ=(3.9±1.5) · 10?26 cm2 for H2 σ=(2.3±1.0) · 10?26 cm2 for D2. These values can be compared with theoretical cross sections based on two relaxation models and indicate the existence of a relaxation mechanism involving the exchange of the electronic alkali-spin with the nuclear spin of the foreign gas.  相似文献

Co58m , Co58g and Co55 were obtained by radiating nickel-foiles with deuterons of energies 11,5 MeV and 2,07 MeV. The γ-radiation was measured with NaJ scintillation spectrometers. For the isomeric transition of Co58m was determinedT 1/2=(9.15±0.1)h,T γ=(25±1)keV,α K=2200±300 and αL+M=1100±300. From these values it follows, that the radiation is ofM3-type. Twoγ-energies of 95 keV and 1322 keV were found belonging to Co55.  相似文献

Short lived isomers of Yb were produced by neutron irradiation of enriched isotopes and have been investigated with the aid of scintillation spectrometers. Yb169m decays with a half-life ofT 1/2=(46±2) sec emitting only L-radiation. This decay is assumed to be the same as the E 3-transition of 24 keV following the electron capture of Lu169. Yb175m [T 1/2=(0,072±0,005) sec] emitsγ-rays of (495±15) keV. The measured K-conversion coefficientα K 495=0,24±0,04 and the total conversion coefficientα 4 5=0,6±0,3 indicate the transition to be M3. Yb177m [T 1/2=(6,4±0,1) sec] decays by a cascade of twoγ-rays. The isomeric (228±3) keV-transition is followed by a (104±1,5) keV-radiation. The measured conversion coefficients areα K 228=4,1±0,4 andα K 228=6,5±0,5 for the first transition andα K 104=0,39±0,05 andα 104=0,51±0,05 for the second, indicating a M3-E1-cascade. For the M 3-transition the measured coefficients agree well with those calculated for a nucleus of finite size, but they differ by a factor of 1,5 for the E1-transition.  相似文献

Cl38m was produced by neutron activation of chlorine containing samples in a pneumatic irradiation facility. The decay of the Cl38-isomer was investigated by various scintillation spectrometer technics. The half-life and the internal conversion coefficient α of the 0.66 MeV isomeric transition was found to beT 1/2=0.74±0.03 sec and α=(5.0±1.2)×10?4. A new isotope152Tm (T 1/2=5.2±0.6 s) and a new isomeric state in150Ho (T 1/2=88±15 s) were observed with the on-line isotope separator ISOCELE II at Orsay. Optical absorption spectra of DyFeO3 have been investigated at 1.2≦T≦4.2 °K, andT=77 °K From the temperature dependent lineshift a Néel temperature ofT N=(3.8±0.5) °K is deduced for the dysprosium sublattices. The groundstate splitting due to the iron-dysprosium interactions is about 1.5 cm?1 and due to the dysprosiumdysprosium interactions (5.0±1.4) cm?1. 79 mBr was produced by irradiation of natural Br with fast neutrons. The half-lifeT 1/2=(4.87±0.15) sec and the energyE γ=(208±1) keV were remeasured. Using the method ofγ-detection, the NMR in the metastable 40 keV-state of103Rh in Fe (thin foils with diffused103Pd activity) was measured in external fields of 0.5 to 14 kG. We find a zero-field resonance frequency ofv 0=(550.3±0.5) MHz and a slope ofdv/dH= ?(0.933 ±0.017) MHz/kG, yielding g=1.22 ± 0.02. The resulting value for the hyperfine field, Hhf=(590±10) kG, is inconsistent with that of an NMR measurement in the ground state of103Rh.
