In this research, thermodynamic properties of the ternary electrolyte system (MgCl2 + Mg(NO3)2 + H2O) were investigated using a potentiometric method. The galvanic cell used had no liquid junction of type: Mg-ISE|MgCl2 (mA), Mg(NO3)2 (mB), H2O|Ag/AgCl. The measurements were performed at T = 298.15 K and at total ionic strengths from 0.001 to 8.000 mol/kg for different series of salt ratios r=mMgCl2/mMg2(NO3) =1.00, 2.50, 5.00, 7.50, 10.00 and 15.00. The PVC based magnesium ion-selective electrode (Mg-ISE) and the Ag/AgCl electrode used in this work were prepared in our laboratory and showed a reasonably good Nernst response. The Pitzer ion interaction model and Harned rule were used to illustrate the ternary electrolyte system investigated. The experimental results showed that both Pitzer model and Harned rule were suitable to be used satisfactorily to describe this ternary system. 相似文献

In this paper, the separation of toluene from cycloalkanes by liquid extraction using the ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium ethylsulfate, [EMim][ESO4], as solvent was studied. Liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) data for ternary systems {cyclohexane, or cyclooctane, or methylcyclohexane + toluene + [EMim][ESO4]} were determined at T = 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure. Selectivity and solute distribution ratio, derived from the tie-lines, were used to determine the ability of this ionic liquid as solvent for the separation of toluene from its mixtures with cycloalkanes. The degree of consistency of the tie-lines was tested using the Othmer-Tobias equation, and the experimental LLE data were correlated using the non-random two-liquid (NRTL) and the UNIversal QUAsi-Chemical (UNIQUAC) models. 相似文献

Experimental (liquid + liquid) equilibria involving ionic liquids {1,3-dimethylimidazolium methyl sulfate (MMIM MeSO4)}, {2-propanol + ethyl acetate + 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate (BMIM PF6)} and {2-propanol + ethyl acetate + 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate (HMIM PF6)} were carried out to separate the azeotropic mixture ethyl acetate and 2-propanol. Selectivity and distribution ratio values, derived from the tie-lines data, were presented in order to analyze the best separation solvent in a liquid extraction process. Experimental (liquid + liquid) equilibria data were compared with the correlated values obtained by means of the NRTL, Othmer-Tobias and Hand equations. Densities of LiCl, NaCl, KCl, and CsCl in normal and heavy water solutions have been measured using a vibrating-tube densitometer with (1-2) · 10−6 precision at T = (288.15, 298.15, and 308.15) K over a wide concentration range from (0.1 to 5) molal, m. Solvent isotope effects (IE) on apparent molar volumes, as well as both on solute- and solvent-partial molar volumes were evaluated to establish their trend with cationic size in a systematic way. With the exception of the LiCl, both the “normal” standard IEs, , and the “inverse” excess IEs of the solutes, , increase linearly with the electrostriction effect of the cations (1/rion), while with increasing temperature and/or concentration, the excess effects become almost the same.In contrast to the solute excess IEs, which show linear m1/2-dependence over the whole concentration range, except for LiCl, the “inverse” excess IEs of the solvent, , hardly change over the lower concentration range (, m ? 1). However, with further increase of the concentration, these IEs significantly decrease. Individual ionic standard and excess volume contributions are derived and the results are discussed in terms of structural concepts of ionic hydration. 相似文献

The (p, ρ, T) properties of pure methanol, the (p, ρ, T) properties and apparent molar volumes V? of ZnBr2 in methanol at T = (298.15 to 398.15) K and pressures up to p = 40 MPa are reported, and apparent molar volumes have been evaluated. The experimental (p, ρ, T, m) values were described by an equation of state. (Liquid + liquid) equilibrium (LLE) data for ternary system {heptane (1) + m-xylene (2) + N-formylmorpholine (3)} have been determined experimentally at temperatures ranging from 298.15 K to 353.15 K. Complete phase diagrams were obtained by determining solubility and tie-line data. Tie-line compositions were correlated by Othmer-Tobias and Bachman methods. The universal quasichemical activity coefficient (UNIQUAC) and The non-random two liquids equation (NRTL) were used to correlate the phase equilibrium in the system using the interaction parameters determined from experimental data. It is found that UNIQUAC and NRTL used for LLE could provide a good correlation. Distribution coefficients, separation factors, and selectivity were evaluated for the immiscibility region. 相似文献

The partial molar volumes, , and partial molar heat capacities, , at infinite dilution have been determined for the compounds N-acetylasparaginamide, N-acetylglutaminamide, N-acetyltyrosinamide, and N-acetyllysinamide monohydrochloride in aqueous solution at T = (288.15, 298.15, 313.15, and 328.15) K. These results, along with the literature data for the compound N-acetylglycinamide, have been used to calculate the amino acid side-chain contributions to the thermodynamic properties. The activity coefficients at infinite dilution, (where 1 refers to the solute and 3 to the solvent), for both polar and non-polar solutes (alkanes, alk-1-enes, alk-1-ynes, cycloalkanes, benzene, carbon tetrachloride, and methanol) in the ionic liquid 1-hexyl-3-methyl-imidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)-imide [HMIM][Tf2N] at three temperatures T = (298.15, 313.15, and 333.15) K have been determined by gas-liquid chromatography. The interaction at the gas-liquid interface between the solutes and the solvent was examined by varying solvent liquid loading on the column. Corrected retention values, taking carrier gas and solute imperfections into account, were determined and used to calculate the activity coefficients at infinite dilution. The results have been used to predict the solvent potential for the hexane/benzene separation from calculated selectivity values. The results were compared to for similar systems found in the literature in an attempt to understand the effect of the nature of the cation and anion has on solute-solvent interactions.The partial molar excess enthalpies at infinite dilution values were calculated from the experimental values obtained over the temperature range. 相似文献

By dynamic calorimetry the temperature dependence of heat capacity for two-dimensional (2D) polymerized tetragonal phase of C60 has been determined over the 300-650 K range at standard pressure mainly with an uncertainty ±1.5%. In the range 490-550 K, an irreversible endothermic transition of the phase, caused by the depolymerization of the polymer, has been found and characterized. Based on the experimental data obtained and literature information, the thermodynamic functions of 2D polymerized tetragonal phase of C60, namely, the heat capacity C°p(T), enthalpy H°(T)−H°(0), entropy S°(T), and Gibbs function G°(T)−H°(0), have been calculated over the range from T→0 to 490 K. From 150 to 330 K in an adiabatic vacuum calorimeter and between 330 and 650 K in a dynamic calorimeter the thermodynamic properties of the depolymerization products have been examined and compared with the corresponding data for the monomeric phase C60. 相似文献

Bubble point temperatures at 95.5 kPa, over the entire composition range, are measured for the binary mixtures formed by m-cresol with: methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, 2-propanol, and n-, iso-, sec-, and tert-butanols - using a Swietoslawski-type ebulliometer. In the present work, the SnO2/graphene nanocomposite composed of 4–5 nm SnO2 nanoparticles was synthesized using a simple wet chemical method for ppb-level detection of benzene. The formation mechanism of the nanocomposite was investigated systematically by means of simultaneous thermogravimetry analysis, X-ray diffraction, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy cooperated with transmission electron microscopy observations. The SnO2/graphene nanocomposite showed a very attractive improved sensitivity to toxic volatile organic compounds, especially to benzene, compared to a traditional SnO2. The responses of the nanocomposite to benzene were a little higher than those to ethanol and the detection limit reached 5 ppb to benzene which is, to our best knowledge, far lower than those reported previously. 相似文献

Experimental tie-line data for ternary system of (water + 1,3-butanediol (1,3-BD) + 2-ethyl-1-hexanol (2EH)) were determined at T = (298.2, 303.2 and 308.2) K under atmospheric conditions. This ternary system exhibits type-1 behavior of LLE. The experimental ternary LLE data were correlated using the NRTL model, and the binary interaction parameters were obtained. The average root-mean-square deviation between the observed and calculated mole fractions was 1.38%. Distribution coefficient and separation factor were measured to evaluate the extracting capability of the solvent. The separation factor values for the solvent used in this work were then compared with literature values obtained in our previous works for other butanediols. 相似文献

A very rapid and efficient method has been developed for the synthesis of vicinal bromoazides directly from olefin using N,N-dibromo-p-toluenesulfonamide (TsNBr2) without any catalyst. The reaction is extremely fast which goes into completion instantaneously to produce bromoazides. Molar conductance of lithium acetate, sodium acetate and potassium acetate were studied in aqueous 2-butanol solutions with an alcohol mass fraction (w2) of 0.70, 0.80 and 0.90 at 298.15, 303.15 and 308.15 K. The conductance data were analyzed with the Fuoss conductance-concentration equation to evaluate the limiting molar conductances (Λ0), association constants (KA,c) and cosphere diameter (R) for ion-pair formation. Gibbs energy (ΔG0), enthalpy (ΔH0) and entropy (ΔS0) for ion-association reaction were derived from the temperature dependence of KA,c. Activation energy for ionic movement (ΔH#) was derived from the temperature dependence of Λ0. Based on the composition dependence of Walden products (Λ0η0) and different thermodynamic properties (ΔG0,ΔH0, ΔS0 and ΔH#), the influence of the solvent composition on ion-association and solvation behavior of ions were discussed in terms of ion-solvent, ion-ion interactions and the structural changes in the mixed solvent media. 相似文献

The thermodynamic functions of complex formation of benzo-15-crown-5 ether with sodium cation in {(1 − x)DMA + xH2O} at T = 298.15 K have been calculated. The equilibrium constants of complex formation of benzo-15-crown-5 ether with sodium cation have been determined by conductivity measurements. The enthalpic effect of complex formation has been measured by calorimetric method at T = 298.15 K. The complexes are enthalpy stabilized and entropy destabilized. A simple model has been proposed to describe the relationship between the thermodynamic functions of complex formation of crown ethers with sodium cation and the structural and energetic properties of the mixed water-organic solvent. The linear enthalpy-entropy relationship for complex formation is also presented. The solvation enthalpy of the complex in {(1 − x)DMA + xH2O} is discussed. 相似文献
