硅狭缝光波导的色散特性及其色散补偿应用的研究 总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0
对硅狭缝光波导色散特性进行了数值研究.研究结果表明,在1.55μm工作波长附近,硅狭缝光波导色散随结构参量的改变而改变,一般在-1000ps/(nm·km)以下,最大可达到-6700ps/(nm·km)左右,同时其相对色散斜率可小于0.009nm-1.因此,选取合适的结构参量,硅狭缝光波导可被用于补偿高速宽带光通信链路的残余色散,且比现有的色散补偿光纤具有一定的优势. 相似文献

In dispersion analysis of waveguides with particular cross-section by compact 2D-FDTD method, using conformal-boundary coordinates can obtain high computational accuracy. The transformation from conformal-boundary coordinates to rectangular coordinates can be done by conformal mapping technique in order to match Yee algorithm. In this paper, numerical stability and numerical dispersion equation of compact conformal mapping 2D-FDTD (CCM-2D-FDTD) method are derived. It is shown that the upper limit of Courant number for CCM-2D-FDTD is always smaller than 1/2. As an example, the dispersion equation is used to examine the impact of number of cell for circular waveguide. 相似文献

利用转移矩阵方法对二维正方介质柱光子晶体的传输特性进行了研究,数值计算研究了不同晶格、同一晶格柱体截面面积不同、放置方位角不同时光子晶体的传输特性。数值结果表明光子禁带的宽度与中心频率和晶格结构有很大关系,正方晶格更易形成平坦光子禁带,柱体截面面积大,则形成的禁带较宽,在其他因素相同的条件下柱体放置的方位角对光子禁带有重要影响。数值研究表明在正方介质柱下设计宽平坦光子禁带时,可以首先考虑正方晶格结构,其次设法使柱体截面尽量大一些,最后可通过柱体放置方位角来微调光子禁带的宽度与中心频率以达到设计要求。 相似文献

有机聚合物脊形光波导的色散特性对聚合物光子学器件性能具有重要影响.本文利用标量变分理论计算脊形光波导的有效折射率,其用到的近似光场分布运用变分有效折射率法获得.考虑折射率分布的横向变化,基于导模满足的矢量波动方程,利用微扰法对标量变分理论所得有效折射率进行偏振修正,求得精度更高的色散特性.对聚合物多模脊形光波导基模和高阶模的色散特性进行分析,研究了波导结构参数对色散特性的影响,分析了单模波导TM、TE基模的偏振色散特性.研究结果表明,运用本征方程分析TM模的色散特性误差大,必须加以修正;而对于TE模,其误差相对较小. 相似文献

A compact two-dimensional finite-difference time-domain method is developed for the modal analysis of nonuniform dielectric waveguides. The unsplit-field perfectly-matched-layer absorbing boundary condition has also been extended to this approach. The proposed method approximates the maxwell equations by using the semivectorial wave equations, and the dominant electric fields are solved for two perpendicular polarizations. By introducing the new techniques, complex variables can be avoided in the calculations. At the same time, the number of variables is minimized in the computation domain. Through that, approximately half of the computation effort can be saved without accuracy loss. Numerical examples are given to substantiate the theory. Excellent accuracy has been obtained for the entire frequency spectrum, even near the cutoff region. 相似文献

This paper deals with the two dimensional (2-D) infrared photonic crystal slab with an air-bridge structure featuring defect waveguides in which the optical propagation properties were obtained by measurements of transmission spectra. 3-D finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) simulations have revealed the appearance of four defect propagation modes for the band structure and transmission spectra in the air-bridge slab. In this paper, the cut-off and dispersion characteristics of a new kind of closed trapezoidal-groove waveguide that has more advantages than open groove waveguides are analyzed with the help of the boundary element method, the relationship between cut-off wavelengths and variations of guide's relative sizes is discussed in detail. The calculated results are in good agreement with those in the relevant reference. So, the obtained conclusions are very important in theoretical studies and actual applications of closed trapezoidal-groove waveguides for millimeter and submillimeter waves. 相似文献

In this present communication, we introduce a new type of annular optical waveguide whose outer cladding is made of sheath helix. The sheath helix is made up of the dielectric material of lower refractive index than the core materials. Using vector approach, the general characteristic equation for the proposed waveguide has been derived. The modal dispersion characteristics for the lowest-order modes for different pitch angles are determined and analyzed. We observe that there is no effect of pitch angles on dispersion curve nearly up to 89° but drastic change is observed at 90° and above pitch angle. On comparison of helically inner cladded annular circular waveguide, we have found that there is not the existence of the negative dispersion curve and photonic band gap in the helically outer cladded annular circular waveguide. It means only the inner cladding is responsible for the negative dispersion as well as photonic band gap. There is no effect of the outer cladding. 相似文献
