First we derive conditions that a parametric rational cubic curve segment, with a parameter, interpolating to plane Hermite data {(x i (k) ,y i (k) ),i = 0, 1;k = 0, 1} contains neither inflection points nor singularities on its segment. Next we numerically determine the distribution of inflection points and singularities on a segment which gives conditions that aC 2 parametric rational cubic curve interpolating to dataS = {(x i (k) ,y i (k) ), 0 i n} is free of inflection points and singularities. When the parametric rational cubic curve reduces to the well-known parametric cubic one, we obtain a theorem on the distribution of the inflection points and singularities on the cubic curve segment which has been widely used for finding aC 1 fair parametric cubic curve interpolating toS.  相似文献

For the numerical solution of the initial value problemy=f(x,y), –1x1;y(–1)=y 0 a global integration method is derived and studied. The method goes as follows.At first the system of nonlinear equations is solved. The matrix (A i,k (n) ) of quadrature coefficients is nearly lower left triangular and the pointsx k,n ,k=1,2,...,n are the zeros ofP n P n–2, whereP n is the Legendre polynomial of degreen. It is showed that the errors From the valuesf(x i,n ,y i,n ),i=1,2,...,n an approximation polynomial is constructed. We investigate the problem of the boundedness of the following recurrence sequence in a Banach space B: where |y n} and | n } are sequences bounded in B, and A k, k 1, are linear bounded operators. In the case =1 andk=2 this inequality means that the surfacez(x, y) has Gaussian curvatureK1. Efimov has shown that in this case the radius of the disk has an upper bound. In this paper we give a lower bound for the number of edges between a subset of [k] n of given cardinality and its complement. The bound we obtain is essentially best possible. In particular, we show that ifA[k] n satisfiesk n /4|A|3k n /4 then there are at leastk n–1 edges betweenA and its complement.Our result is apparently the first example of an isoperimetric inequality for which the extremal sets do not form a nested family.We also give a best possible upper bound for the number of edges spanned by a subset of [k] n of given cardinality. We consider nonlinear elliptic differential equations of second order in two variables
. Supposing analyticity of F, we prove analyticity of the real solution z=z(x,y) in the open set Ω. Furthermore, we show that z may be continued as a real analytic solution for F=0 across the real analytic boundary arc Γ∂Ω, if z satisfies one of the boundary conditions z= or zn=ψ(x,y,z,zt) on Γ with real analytic functions and ψ, respectively (zn denotes the derivative of z w.r.t. the outer normal n on Γ and zt its derivative w.r.t. the tangent). The proof is based on ideas of H. Lewy combined with a uniformization method. Studying quasilinear equations, we get somewhat better results concerning the initial regularity of the given solution and a little more insight.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the Hodge decompositions ofK-theory and cyclic homology induced by the operations k and k , and in particular the decomposition of the Loday symbols x,y, ...z. Except in special cases, these Loday symbols do not have pure Hodge index. InK n (A) they can project into every componentK n (i) for 2in, and the projection of the Loday symbol x,y, ...,z intoK n (n) is a multiple of the generalized Dennis-Stein symbol x,y, ...,z. Iterative hyperidentities are hyperidentities of the special formF a (x 1,...,x k =F a+b (x 1,...,x k ). This type of hyperidentity has been considered by Denecke and Pöschel, and by Schweigert. Here we consider iterative hyperidentities for the variety An,m of commutative semigroups satisfyingx n =x n+m ,n,m 1. We introduce two parameters(m, n) and(m) associated withn andm, and show thatA nn,m satisfies the iterative hyperidentitiesF (x 1,...,x k =F +b (x 1,...,x k ) for every arityk. Moreover, the numbers and are minimal, making these hyperidentities irreducible in the sense of Schweigert. We also show how these hyperidentities for An,m may be used to prove that no non-trivial proper variety of commutative semigroups can have a finite hyperidentity basis.Presented by W. An algebra of operators on a Banach space X is said to be transitive if X has no nontrivial closed subspaces invariant under every member of the algebra. In this paper we investigate a number of conditions which guarantee that a transitive algebra of operators is “large” in various senses. Among these are the conditions of algebras being localizing or sesquitransitive. An algebra is localizing if there exists a closed ball B ∌ 0 such that for every sequence (x n ) in B there exists a subsequence and a bounded sequence (A k ) in the algebra such that converges to a non-zero vector. An algebra is sesquitransitive if for every non-zero zX there exists C > 0 such that for every x linearly independent of z, for every non-zero yX, and every there exists A in the algebra such that and ||Az|| ≤ C||z||. We give an algebraic version of this definition as well, and extend Jacobson’s density theorem to algebraically sesquitransitive rings. It is shown that the variety n of lattice ordered groups defined by the identity x n y n =y n x n , where n is the product of k (not necessarily distinct primes) is contained in the (k+1)st power A k+1 of the variety A of all Abelian lattice ordered groups. This implies, in particular, that n is solvable class k + 1. Hydromagnetic planetary-gravity waves propagating on a-plane through steady vertically sheared zonal flow and zonal magnetic field are investigated for instability.
